KJV ¹ And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me.

KJV ² Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.

OST ² Et je regardai, et voici une figure semblable à du feu dans son aspect; depuis ce qui paraissait être ses reins jusqu'en bas, c'était du feu; depuis ce qui paraissait être ses reins jusqu'en haut, c'était une sorte de splendeur pareille à celle de l'airain poli.

WLC ² וָאֶרְאֶ֗ה וְהִנֵּ֤ה דְמוּת֙ כְּמַרְאֵה־ אֵ֔שׁ מִמַּרְאֵ֥ה מָתְנָ֛יו וּלְמַ֖טָּה אֵ֑שׁ וּמִמָּתְנָ֣יו וּלְמַ֔עְלָה כְּמַרְאֵה־ זֹ֖הַר כְּעֵ֥ין הַחַשְׁמַֽלָה׃

KJV ³ And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.

OST ³ Et elle avança une forme de main, et me saisit par les cheveux de la tête; et l'Esprit m'enleva entre la terre et les cieux, et me transporta, dans des visions divines, à Jérusalem, à l'entrée de la porte intérieure, qui est tournée vers le Nord, où se trouvait l'idole de la jalousie, qui provoque la jalousie de l'Éternel.

WLC ³ וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ תַּבְנִ֣ית יָ֔ד וַיִּקָּחֵ֖נִי בְּצִיצִ֣ת רֹאשִׁ֑י וַתִּשָּׂ֣א אֹתִ֣י ר֣וּחַ ׀ בֵּֽין־ הָאָ֣רֶץ וּבֵ֣ין הַשָּׁמַ֡יִם וַתָּבֵא֩ אֹתִ֨י יְרוּשָׁלְַ֜מָה בְּמַרְא֣וֹת אֱלֹהִ֗ים אֶל־ פֶּ֜תַח שַׁ֤עַר הַפְּנִימִית֙ הַפּוֹנֶ֣ה צָפ֔וֹנָה אֲשֶׁר־ שָׁ֣ם מוֹשַׁ֔ב סֵ֖מֶל הַקִּנְאָ֥ה הַמַּקְנֶֽה׃

KJV ⁴ And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

OST ⁴ Et voici, la gloire du Dieu d'Israël était là, telle que je l'avais vue en vision dans la vallée.

WLC ⁴ וְהִ֨נֵּה־ שָׁ֔ם כְּב֖וֹד אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כַּמַּרְאֶ֕ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר רָאִ֖יתִי בַּבִּקְעָֽה׃

KJV ⁵ Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

OST ⁵ Et il me dit: Fils de l'homme, lève les yeux du côté du Nord. Je levai donc les yeux du côté du Nord, et voici, vers le Nord, à la porte de l'autel, à l'entrée, cette idole de la jalousie.

WLC ⁵ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י בֶּן־ אָדָ֕ם שָׂא־ נָ֥א עֵינֶ֖יךָ דֶּ֣רֶךְ צָפ֑וֹנָה וָאֶשָּׂ֤א עֵינַי֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ צָפ֔וֹנָה וְהִנֵּ֤ה מִצָּפוֹן֙ לְשַׁ֣עַר הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ סֵ֛מֶל הַקִּנְאָ֥ה הַזֶּ֖ה בַּבִּאָֽה׃

KJV ⁶ He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.

OST ⁶ Alors il me dit: Fils de l'homme, vois-tu ce que font ces gens, les grandes abominations que commet ici la maison d'Israël, pour m'éloigner de mon sanctuaire? Mais tu verras encore de plus grandes abominations.

KJV ⁷ And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.

OST ⁷ Il me conduisit donc à l'entrée du parvis; je regardai, et voici, il y avait une ouverture dans le mur.

WLC ⁷ וַיָּבֵ֥א אֹתִ֖י אֶל־ פֶּ֣תַח הֶֽחָצֵ֑ר וָאֶרְאֶ֕ה וְהִנֵּ֥ה חֹר־ אֶחָ֖ד בַּקִּֽיר׃

KJV ⁸ Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.

OST ⁸ Et il dit: Fils de l'homme, pénètre dans la muraille; et quand j'eus pénétré dans la muraille, voici, il y avait là une porte.

KJV ⁹ And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.

OST ⁹ Puis il me dit: Entre, et vois les abominations impies qu'ils commettent ici.

WLC ⁹ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֵלָ֑י בֹּ֤א וּרְאֵה֙ אֶת־ הַתּוֹעֵב֣וֹת הָרָע֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֛ר הֵ֥ם עֹשִׂ֖ים פֹּֽה׃

KJV ¹⁰ So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.

OST ¹⁰ J'entrai donc, je regardai, et voici toute sorte de figures de reptiles et d'animaux immondes; et toutes les idoles de la maison d'Israël étaient peintes tout alentour sur la muraille.

WLC ¹⁰ וָאָבוֹא֮ וָֽאֶרְאֶה֒ וְהִנֵּ֨ה כָל־ תַּבְנִ֜ית רֶ֤מֶשׂ וּבְהֵמָה֙ שֶׁ֔קֶץ וְכָל־ גִּלּוּלֵ֖י בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מְחֻקֶּ֥ה עַל־ הַקִּ֖יר סָבִ֥יב ׀ סָבִֽיב׃

KJV ¹¹ And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.

OST ¹¹ Et soixante-dix hommes d'entre les anciens de la maison d'Israël, au milieu desquels se trouvait Joazania, fils de Shaphan, se tenaient debout devant elles, chacun l'encensoir à la main, d'où s'élevait un épais nuage d'encens.

KJV ¹² Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.

OST ¹² Et il me dit: As-tu vu, fils de l'homme, ce que font les anciens de la maison d'Israël, dans les ténèbres, chacun dans son cabinet d'images? Car ils disent: L'Éternel ne nous voit point; l'Éternel a abandonné le pays.

KJV ¹³ He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.

OST ¹³ Et il me dit: Tu verras encore de plus grandes abominations, qu'ils commettent.

KJV ¹⁴ Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

OST ¹⁴ Il me conduisit donc à l'entrée de la porte de la maison de l'Éternel, qui est du côté du Nord, et voici, des femmes assises pleuraient Thammuz.

WLC ¹⁴ וַיָּבֵ֣א אֹתִ֗י אֶל־ פֶּ֙תַח֙ שַׁ֣עַר בֵּית־ יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר אֶל־ הַצָּפ֑וֹנָה וְהִנֵּה־ שָׁם֙ הַנָּשִׁ֣ים יֹֽשְׁב֔וֹת מְבַכּ֖וֹת אֶת־ הַתַּמּֽוּז׃

KJV ¹⁶ And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

OST ¹⁶ Et il me fit entrer dans le parvis intérieur de la maison de l'Éternel; et voici, à l'entrée du temple de l'Éternel, entre le portique et l'autel, environ vingt-cinq hommes, qui tournaient le dos au temple de l'Éternel et la face vers l'Orient; ils se prosternaient devant le soleil, vers l'Orient.

WLC ¹⁶ וַיָּבֵ֣א אֹתִ֗י אֶל־ חֲצַ֣ר בֵּית־ יְהוָה֮ הַפְּנִימִית֒ וְהִנֵּה־ פֶ֜תַח הֵיכַ֣ל יְהוָ֗ה בֵּ֤ין הָֽאוּלָם֙ וּבֵ֣ין הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ כְּעֶשְׂרִ֥ים וַחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה אִ֑ישׁ אֲחֹ֨רֵיהֶ֜ם אֶל־ הֵיכַ֤ל יְהוָה֙ וּפְנֵיהֶ֣ם קֵ֔דְמָה וְהֵ֛מָּה מִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶ֥ם קֵ֖דְמָה לַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃

KJV ¹⁷ Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

OST ¹⁷ Alors il me dit: As-tu vu, fils de l'homme? Est-ce trop peu pour la maison de Juda, de commettre les abominations qu'ils commettent ici, pour qu'ils remplissent encore le pays de violence et qu'ils ne cessent de m'irriter? Voici, ils approchent le rameau de leur narine!

WLC ¹⁷ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַי֮ הֲרָאִ֣יתָ בֶן־ אָדָם֒ הֲנָקֵל֙ לְבֵ֣ית יְהוּדָ֔ה מֵעֲשׂ֕וֹת אֶת־ הַתּוֹעֵב֖וֹת אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָֽשׂוּ־ פֹ֑ה כִּֽי־ מָלְא֨וּ אֶת־ הָאָ֜רֶץ חָמָ֗ס וַיָּשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ לְהַכְעִיסֵ֔נִי וְהִנָּ֛ם שֹׁלְחִ֥ים אֶת־ הַזְּמוֹרָ֖ה אֶל־ אַפָּֽם׃

KJV ¹⁸ Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

OST ¹⁸ Mais moi aussi, j'agirai avec fureur; mon oeil ne les épargnera point et je n'aurai pas de compassion; quand ils crieront à voix haute à mes oreilles, je ne les écouterai point.
