KJV 1 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.

VULC 1 Hæ sunt generationes filiorum Noë, Sem, Cham et Japheth : natique sunt eis filii post diluvium.

KJV 2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

VULC 2 Filii Japheth : Gomer, et Magog, et Madai, et Javan, et Thubal, et Mosoch, et Thiras.

KJV 3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

VULC 3 Porro filii Gomer : Ascenez et Riphath et Thogorma.

KJV 4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

VULC 4 Filii autem Javan : Elisa et Tharsis, Cetthim et Dodanim.

KJV 5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

VULC 5 Ab his divisæ sunt insulæ gentium in regionibus suis, unusquisque secundum linguam suam et familias suas in nationibus suis.

KJV 6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

VULC 6 Filii autem Cham : Chus, et Mesraim, et Phuth, et Chanaan.

KJV 7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

VULC 7 Filii Chus : Saba, et Hevila, et Sabatha, et Regma, et Sabatacha. Filii Regma : Saba et Dadan.

KJV 8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

VULC 8 Porro Chus genuit Nemrod : ipse cœpit esse potens in terra,

KJV 9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

VULC 9 et erat robustus venator coram Domino. Ob hoc exivit proverbium : Quasi Nemrod robustus venator coram Domino.

KJV 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

VULC 10 Fuit autem principium regni ejus Babylon, et Arach et Achad, et Chalanne, in terra Sennaar.

KJV 11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,

VULC 11 De terra illa egressus est Assur, et ædificavit Niniven, et plateas civitatis, et Chale.

KJV 12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.

VULC 12 Resen quoque inter Niniven et Chale : hæc est civitas magna.

KJV 13 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

VULC 13 At vero Mesraim genuit Ludim, et Anamim et Laabim, Nephthuim,

KJV 14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.

VULC 14 et Phetrusim, et Chasluim : de quibus egressi sunt Philisthiim et Caphtorim.

KJV 15 And Canaan begat Sidon his first born, and Heth,

VULC 15 Chanaan autem genuit Sidonem primogenitum suum. Hethæum,

KJV 16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,

VULC 16 et Jebusæum, et Amorrhæum, Gergesæum,

KJV 17 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

VULC 17 Hevæum, et Aracæum : Sinæum,

KJV 18 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.

VULC 18 et Aradium, Samaræum, et Amathæum : et post hæc disseminati sunt populi Chananæorum.

KJV 19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

VULC 19 Factique sunt termini Chanaan venientibus a Sidone Geraram usque Gazam, donec ingrediaris Sodomam et Gomorrham, et Adamam, et Seboim usque Lesa.

KJV 20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

VULC 20 Hi sunt filii Cham in cognationibus, et linguis, et generationibus, terrisque et gentibus suis.

KJV 21 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

VULC 21 De Sem quoque nati sunt, patre omnium filiorum Heber, fratre Japheth majore.

KJV 22 The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

VULC 22 Filii Sem : Ælam, et Assur, et Arphaxad, et Lud, et Aram.

KJV 23 And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

VULC 23 Filii Aram : Us, et Hul, et Gether, et Mes.

KJV 24 And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.

VULC 24 At vero Arphaxad genuit Sale, de quo ortus est Heber.

KJV 25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

VULC 25 Natique sunt Heber filii duo : nomen uni Phaleg, eo quod in diebus ejus divisa sit terra : et nomen fratris ejus Jectan.

KJV 26 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

VULC 26 Qui Jectan genuit Elmodad, et Saleph, et Asarmoth, Jare,

KJV 27 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

VULC 27 et Aduram, et Uzal, et Decla,

KJV 28 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

VULC 28 et Ebal, et Abimaël, Saba,

KJV 29 And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.

VULC 29 et Ophir, et Hevila, et Jobab : omnes isti, filii Jectan.

KJV 30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.

VULC 30 Et facta est habitatio eorum de Messa pergentibus usque Sephar montem orientalem.

KJV 31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

VULC 31 Isti filii Sem secundum cognationes, et linguas, et regiones in gentibus suis.

KJV 32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

VULC 32 Hæ familiæ Noë juxta populos et nationes suas. Ab his divisæ sunt gentes in terra post diluvium.
