WLC ² וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אַבְרָהָ֗ם אֶל־ עַבְדּוֹ֙ זְקַ֣ן בֵּית֔וֹ הַמֹּשֵׁ֖ל בְּכָל־ אֲשֶׁר־ ל֑וֹ שִֽׂים־ נָ֥א יָדְךָ֖ תַּ֥חַת יְרֵכִֽי׃

BCC ³ « Mets donc ta main sous ma cuisse, et je te ferai jurer par Yahweh, Dieu du ciel et Dieu de la terre, que tu ne prendras pas pour mon fils une femme parmi les filles des Chananéens, au milieu desquels j'habite ;

KJV ³ And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:

WLC ³ וְאַשְׁבִּ֣יעֲךָ֔ בַּֽיהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וֵֽאלֹהֵ֖י הָאָ֑רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹֽא־ תִקַּ֤ח אִשָּׁה֙ לִבְנִ֔י מִבְּנוֹת֙ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י יוֹשֵׁ֥ב בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃

BCC ⁴ mais ce sera dans mon pays et dans ma patrie que tu iras prendre une femme pour mon fils pour Isaac. »

KJV ⁴ But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.

WLC ⁴ כִּ֧י אֶל־ אַרְצִ֛י וְאֶל־ מוֹלַדְתִּ֖י תֵּלֵ֑ךְ וְלָקַחְתָּ֥ אִשָּׁ֖ה לִבְנִ֥י לְיִצְחָֽק׃

BCC ⁵ Le serviteur lui répondit : « Peut-être la femme ne voudra-t-elle pas me suivre dans ce pays ; devrai-je ramener ton fils dans le pays d'où tu es sorti ? »

KJV ⁵ And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?

BCC ⁶ Abraham lui dit : « Garde-toi d'y ramener mon fils !

KJV ⁶ And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.

BCC ⁸ Si la femme ne veut pas te suivre, tu seras dégagé de ce serment que je te demande ; mais tu ne ramèneras pas là mon fils. »

KJV ⁸ And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.

BCC ⁹ Alors le serviteur mit sa main sous la cuisse d'Abraham, son maître, et lui prêta serment à ce sujet.

KJV ⁹ And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter.

WLC ⁹ וַיָּ֤שֶׂם הָעֶ֙בֶד֙ אֶת־ יָד֔וֹ תַּ֛חַת יֶ֥רֶךְ אַבְרָהָ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֑יו וַיִּשָּׁ֣בַֽע ל֔וֹ עַל־ הַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּֽה׃

BCC ¹⁰ Le serviteur prit dix des chameaux de son maître, et il se mit en route ; or il avait à sa disposition tous les biens de son maître. S'étant levé, il alla en Mésopotamie, à la ville de Nachor.

KJV ¹⁰ And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.

BCC ¹¹ Il fit ployer les genoux aux chameaux hors de la ville, près d'un puits, vers le soir, à l'heure où les femmes sortent pour puiser de l'eau.

KJV ¹¹ And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.

WLC ¹¹ וַיַּבְרֵ֧ךְ הַגְּמַלִּ֛ים מִח֥וּץ לָעִ֖יר אֶל־ בְּאֵ֣ר הַמָּ֑יִם לְעֵ֣ת עֶ֔רֶב לְעֵ֖ת צֵ֥את הַשֹּׁאֲבֹֽת׃

BCC ¹² Et il dit : « Yahweh, Dieu d'Abraham, mon maître, veuillez me faire rencontrer aujourd'hui ce que je désire, et usez de bonté envers mon maître Abraham.

KJV ¹² And he said O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.

WLC ¹² וַיֹּאמַ֓ר ׀ יְהוָ֗ה אֱלֹהֵי֙ אֲדֹנִ֣י אַבְרָהָ֔ם הַקְרֵה־ נָ֥א לְפָנַ֖י הַיּ֑וֹם וַעֲשֵׂה־ חֶ֕סֶד עִ֖ם אֲדֹנִ֥י אַבְרָהָֽם׃

BCC ¹³ Voici que je me tiens près de la source d'eau, et les filles des habitants de la ville vont sortir pour puiser de l'eau.

KJV ¹³ Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:

WLC ¹³ הִנֵּ֛ה אָנֹכִ֥י נִצָּ֖ב עַל־ עֵ֣ין הַמָּ֑יִם וּבְנוֹת֙ אַנְשֵׁ֣י הָעִ֔יר יֹצְאֹ֖ת לִשְׁאֹ֥ב מָֽיִם׃

BCC ¹⁴ Que la jeune fille à laquelle je dirai « penche ta cruche, je te prie, pour que je boive », ‒ et qui répondra : « Bois, et je donnerai aussi à boire à tes chameaux », ‒ soit celle que vous avez destinée à votre serviteur Isaac ! Et par là je connaîtrai que vous avez usé de bonté envers mon maître.

KJV ¹⁴ And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.

BCC ¹⁵ Il n'avait pas encore fini de parler, et voici que sortit, sa cruche sur l'épaule, Rebecca, fille de Bathuel, fils de Melcha, femme de Nachor, frère d'Abraham.

KJV ¹⁵ And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.

WLC ¹⁵ וַֽיְהִי־ ה֗וּא טֶרֶם֮ כִּלָּ֣ה לְדַבֵּר֒ וְהִנֵּ֧ה רִבְקָ֣ה יֹצֵ֗את אֲשֶׁ֤ר יֻלְּדָה֙ לִבְתוּאֵ֣ל בֶּן־ מִלְכָּ֔ה אֵ֥שֶׁת נָח֖וֹר אֲחִ֣י אַבְרָהָ֑ם וְכַדָּ֖הּ עַל־ שִׁכְמָֽהּ׃

BCC ¹⁶ La jeune fille était fort belle de figure ; elle était vierge, et nul homme ne l'avait connue.

KJV ¹⁶ And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.

BCC ¹⁷ Elle descendit à la source, remplit sa cruche et remonta. Le serviteur courut au-devant d'elle et dit : « Permets que je boive un peu d'eau de ta cruche. »

KJV ¹⁷ And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיָּ֥רָץ הָעֶ֖בֶד לִקְרָאתָ֑הּ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר הַגְמִיאִ֥ינִי נָ֛א מְעַט־ מַ֖יִם מִכַּדֵּֽךְ׃

BCC ¹⁸ Elle répondit : « Bois, mon seigneur » ; et, s'empressant d'abaisser sa cruche sur sa main, elle lui donna à boire.

KJV ¹⁸ And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.

WLC ¹⁸ וַתֹּ֖אמֶר שְׁתֵ֣ה אֲדֹנִ֑י וַתְּמַהֵ֗ר וַתֹּ֧רֶד כַּדָּ֛הּ עַל־ יָדָ֖הּ וַתַּשְׁקֵֽהוּ׃

BCC ¹⁹ Quand elle eut achevé de lui donner à boire, elle dit : « Je puiserai aussi de l'eau pour les chameaux, jusqu'à ce qu'ils aient bu assez. »

KJV ¹⁹ And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.

WLC ¹⁹ וַתְּכַ֖ל לְהַשְׁקֹת֑וֹ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר גַּ֤ם לִגְמַלֶּ֙יךָ֙ אֶשְׁאָ֔ב עַ֥ד אִם־ כִּלּ֖וּ לִשְׁתֹּֽת׃

BCC ²⁰ Et elle se hâta de vider sa cruche dans l'abreuvoir, et courut encore au puits pour puiser, et elle puisa pour tous les chameaux.

KJV ²⁰ And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.

WLC ²⁰ וַתְּמַהֵ֗ר וַתְּעַ֤ר כַּדָּהּ֙ אֶל־ הַשֹּׁ֔קֶת וַתָּ֥רָץ ע֛וֹד אֶֽל־ הַבְּאֵ֖ר לִשְׁאֹ֑ב וַתִּשְׁאַ֖ב לְכָל־ גְּמַלָּֽיו׃

BCC ²¹ L'homme la considérait en silence, pour savoir si Yahweh avait fait réussir son voyage, ou non.

KJV ²¹ And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.

WLC ²¹ וְהָאִ֥ישׁ מִשְׁתָּאֵ֖ה לָ֑הּ מַחֲרִ֕ישׁ לָדַ֗עַת הַֽהִצְלִ֧יחַ יְהוָ֛ה דַּרְכּ֖וֹ אִם־ לֹֽא׃

BCC ²² Quand les chameaux eurent fini de boire, l'homme prit un anneau d'or du poids d'un demi-sicle, et deux bracelets du poids de dix sicles d'or,

KJV ²² And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;

WLC ²² וַיְהִ֗י כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר כִּלּ֤וּ הַגְּמַלִּים֙ לִשְׁתּ֔וֹת וַיִּקַּ֤ח הָאִישׁ֙ נֶ֣זֶם זָהָ֔ב בֶּ֖קַע מִשְׁקָל֑וֹ וּשְׁנֵ֤י צְמִידִים֙ עַל־ יָדֶ֔יהָ עֲשָׂרָ֥ה זָהָ֖ב מִשְׁקָלָֽם׃

BCC ²³ et il dit : « De qui es-tu fille ? Dis-le moi donc. Y a-t-il dans la maison de ton père une place où nous puissions passer la nuit ? »

KJV ²³ And said, Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room in thy father's house for us to lodge in?

WLC ²³ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ בַּת־ מִ֣י אַ֔תְּ הַגִּ֥ידִי נָ֖א לִ֑י הֲיֵ֧שׁ בֵּית־ אָבִ֛יךְ מָק֥וֹם לָ֖נוּ לָלִֽין׃

BCC ²⁴ Elle répondit : « Je suis fille de Bathuel, le fils de Melcha, qu'elle enfanta à Nachor. »

KJV ²⁴ And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor.

WLC ²⁴ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֔יו בַּת־ בְּתוּאֵ֖ל אָנֹ֑כִי בֶּן־ מִלְכָּ֕ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר יָלְדָ֖ה לְנָחֽוֹר׃

BCC ²⁵ Elle ajouta : « Il y a chez nous de la paille et du fourrage en abondance, et aussi de la paille pour y passer la nuit. »

KJV ²⁵ She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.

WLC ²⁵ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֔יו גַּם־ תֶּ֥בֶן גַּם־ מִסְפּ֖וֹא רַ֣ב עִמָּ֑נוּ גַּם־ מָק֖וֹם לָלֽוּן׃

BCC ²⁶ Alors cet homme s'inclina et se prosterna devant Yahweh, et il dit :

KJV ²⁶ And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD.

WLC ²⁶ וַיִּקֹּ֣ד הָאִ֔ישׁ וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ לַֽיהוָֽה׃

BCC ²⁷ « Béni soit Yahweh, le Dieu d'Abraham, mon maître, qui n'a pas manqué à sa bonté et à sa fidélité envers mon maître. Moi-même, Yahweh m'a conduit par le chemin chez les frères de mon maître. »

KJV ²⁷ And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren.

WLC ²⁷ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר בָּר֤וּךְ יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵי֙ אֲדֹנִ֣י אַבְרָהָ֔ם אֲ֠שֶׁר לֹֽא־ עָזַ֥ב חַסְדּ֛וֹ וַאֲמִתּ֖וֹ מֵעִ֣ם אֲדֹנִ֑י אָנֹכִ֗י בַּדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ נָחַ֣נִי יְהוָ֔ה בֵּ֖ית אֲחֵ֥י אֲדֹנִֽי׃

BCC ²⁸ La jeune fille courut raconter chez sa mère ce qui s'était passé.

KJV ²⁸ And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things.

WLC ²⁸ וַתָּ֙רָץ֙ הַֽנַּעֲרָ֔ וַתַּגֵּ֖ד לְבֵ֣ית אִמָּ֑הּ כַּדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

BCC ²⁹ Rebecca avait un frère, nommé Laban. Laban courut dehors vers cet homme, près de la source.

KJV ²⁹ And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well.

WLC ²⁹ וּלְרִבְקָ֥ה אָ֖ח וּשְׁמ֣וֹ לָבָ֑ן וַיָּ֨רָץ לָבָ֧ן אֶל־ הָאִ֛ישׁ הַח֖וּצָה אֶל־ הָעָֽיִן׃

BCC ³⁰ Il avait vu l'anneau et les bracelets aux mains de sa soeur, et il avait entendu les paroles de Rebecca, sa soeur, disant : « L'homme m'a parlé ainsi. » Il vint donc à cet homme, qui se tenait auprès des chameaux, à la source, et il dit :

KJV ³⁰ And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.

BCC ³¹ « Viens, béni de Yahweh ; pourquoi restes-tu dehors ? J'ai préparé la maison et une place pour les chameaux. »

KJV ³¹ And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.

WLC ³¹ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר בּ֖וֹא בְּר֣וּךְ יְהוָ֑ה לָ֤מָּה תַעֲמֹד֙ בַּח֔וּץ וְאָנֹכִי֙ פִּנִּ֣יתִי הַבַּ֔יִת וּמָק֖וֹם לַגְּמַלִּֽים׃

BCC ³² Et l'homme entra à la maison. Laban débâta les chameaux, et il donna de la paille et du fourrage aux chameaux, et de l'eau pour laver les pieds de l'homme et les pieds des gens qui étaient avec lui.

KJV ³² And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.

BCC ³³ Puis il lui servit à manger ; mais l'homme dit : « Je ne mangerai point que je n'aie dit ce que j'ai à dire. » « Parle », dit Laban.

KJV ³³ And there was set meat before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.

WLC ³³ לְפָנָיו֙ לֶאֱכֹ֔ל וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ לֹ֣א אֹכַ֔ל עַ֥ד אִם־ דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי דְּבָרָ֑י וַיֹּ֖אמֶר דַּבֵּֽר׃

BCC ³⁴ Il dit : « Je suis serviteur d'Abraham. Yahweh a comblé de bénédictions mon maître, et il est devenu puissant.

KJV ³⁴ And he said, I am Abraham's servant.

WLC ³⁴ וַיֹּאמַ֑ר עֶ֥בֶד אַבְרָהָ֖ם אָנֹֽכִי׃

BCC ³⁵ Il lui a donné des brebis et des boeufs, des serviteurs et des servantes, des chameaux et des ânes.

KJV ³⁵ And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.

BCC ³⁶ Sara, femme de mon maître, a enfanté dans sa vieillesse un fils à mon maître, et il lui a donné tous ses biens.

BCC ³⁸ Mais tu iras dans la maison de mon père et dans ma parenté, et tu prendras là une femme pour mon fils."

BCC ⁴⁴ "Bois toi-même, et je puiserai aussi pour tes chameaux", qu'elle soit la femme que Yahweh a destinée au fils de mon maître.

KJV ⁴⁴ And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master's son.

BCC ⁴⁵ Je n'avais pas encore fini de parler en mon coeur, voici que Rebecca sortait, sa cruche sur l'épaule ; elle est descendue à la source et a puisé ; et je lui ai dit : "Donne-moi à boire, je te prie."

BCC ⁴⁶ Abaissant aussitôt sa cruche de dessus son épaule, elle me dit : "Bois, et je donnerai aussi à boire à tes chameaux." J'ai donc bu, et elle a aussi donné à boire aux chameaux.

KJV ⁴⁶ And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: so I drank, and she made the camels drink also.

BCC ⁴⁷ Et je l'ai interrogée, en disant : "De qui es-tu fille ?" Elle a répondu : "Je suis fille de Bathuel, le fils de Nachor, que Melcha lui a enfanté."

KJV ⁴⁷ And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art thou? And she said, the daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bare unto him: and I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands.

BCC ⁵⁰ Laban et Bathuel répondirent, en disant : « La chose vient de Yahweh, nous ne pouvons te dire ni mal ni bien.

KJV ⁵⁰ Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceedeth from the LORD: we cannot speak unto thee bad or good.

BCC ⁵³ Yahweh. Et le serviteur tira des objets d'argent, des objets d'or et des vêtements, qu'il donna à Rebecca ; il fit aussi de riches présents à son frère et à sa mère.

KJV ⁵³ And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.

BCC ⁵⁴ Ensuite ils mangèrent et burent, lui et les gens qui étaient avec lui, et ils passèrent là la nuit.

BCC ⁵⁵ Le matin, quand ils furent levés, le serviteur dit : « Laissez-moi retourner vers mon maître. » Le frère et la mère de Rebecca dirent : « Que la jeune fille demeure avec nous quelques jours encore, une dizaine ; après quoi elle partira. »

BCC ⁵⁶ Il leur répondit : « Ne me retardez pas, puisque Yahweh a fait réussir mon voyage ; laissez-moi partir, pour que je retourne vers mon maître. »

KJV ⁵⁶ And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the LORD hath prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master.

WLC ⁵⁶ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵהֶם֙ אַל־ תְּאַחֲר֣וּ אֹתִ֔י וַֽיהוָ֖ה הִצְלִ֣יחַ דַּרְכִּ֑י שַׁלְּח֕וּנִי וְאֵלְכָ֖ה לַֽאדֹנִֽי׃

BCC ⁵⁷ Ils dirent : « Appelons la jeune fille, et demandons-lui ce qu'elle désire. »

KJV ⁵⁷ And they said, We will call the damsel, and enquire at her mouth.

WLC ⁵⁷ וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ נִקְרָ֣א לַֽנַּעֲרָ֑ וְנִשְׁאֲלָ֖ה אֶת־ פִּֽיהָ׃

BCC ⁵⁸ Ils appelèrent donc Rebecca et lui dirent : « Veux-tu partir avec cet homme ? »

KJV ⁵⁸ And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.

WLC ⁵⁸ וַיִּקְרְא֤וּ לְרִבְקָה֙ וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלֶ֔יהָ הֲתֵלְכִ֖י עִם־ הָאִ֣ישׁ הַזֶּ֑ה וַתֹּ֖אמֶר אֵלֵֽךְ׃

BCC ⁵⁹ Elle répondit : « Je partirai. » Alors ils congédièrent Rebecca, leur soeur et sa nourrice, avec le serviteur d'Abraham et ses gens.

KJV ⁵⁹ And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant, and his men.

WLC ⁵⁹ וַֽיְשַׁלְּח֛וּ אֶת־ רִבְקָ֥ה אֲחֹתָ֖ם וְאֶת־ מֵנִקְתָּ֑הּ וְאֶת־ עֶ֥בֶד אַבְרָהָ֖ם וְאֶת־ אֲנָשָֽׁיו׃

BCC ⁶⁰ Ils bénirent Rebecca et lui dirent : « Ô notre soeur, puisses-tu devenir des milliers de myriades !

KJV ⁶⁰ And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.

WLC ⁶⁰ וַיְבָרֲכ֤וּ אֶת־ רִבְקָה֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ לָ֔הּ אֲחֹתֵ֕נוּ אַ֥תְּ הֲיִ֖י לְאַלְפֵ֣י רְבָבָ֑ה וְיִירַ֣שׁ זַרְעֵ֔ךְ אֵ֖ת שַׁ֥עַר שֹׂנְאָֽיו׃

BCC ⁶¹ Puisse ta postérité posséder la porte de ses ennemis ! » Alors Rebecca et ses servantes, s'étant levées, montèrent sur les chameaux, et suivirent cet homme. Et le serviteur emmena Rebecca et se mit en route.

KJV ⁶¹ And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man: and the servant took Rebekah, and went his way.

BCC ⁶⁴ Rebecca leva aussi les yeux et, ayant aperçu Isaac, elle sauta à bas de son chameau.

KJV ⁶⁴ And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.

BCC ⁶⁵ Elle dit au serviteur : « Qui est cet homme qui vient dans les champs à notre rencontre ? » Le serviteur répondit : « C'est mon maître. » Et elle prit son voile et se couvrit.

KJV ⁶⁵ For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself.

WLC ⁶⁵ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֶל־ הָעֶ֗בֶד מִֽי־ הָאִ֤ישׁ הַלָּזֶה֙ הַהֹלֵ֤ךְ בַּשָּׂדֶה֙ לִקְרָאתֵ֔נוּ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר הָעֶ֖בֶד ה֣וּא אֲדֹנִ֑י וַתִּקַּ֥ח הַצָּעִ֖יף וַתִּתְכָּֽס׃

BCC ⁶⁶ Le serviteur raconta à Isaac toutes les choses qu'il avait faites.

KJV ⁶⁶ And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done.

WLC ⁶⁶ וַיְסַפֵּ֥ר הָעֶ֖בֶד לְיִצְחָ֑ק אֵ֥ת כָּל־ הַדְּבָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָֽׂה׃

BCC ⁶⁷ Et Isaac conduisit Rebecca dans la tente de Sara, sa mère. Il prit Rebecca, qui devint sa femme, et il l'aima ; et Isaac se consola de la mort de sa mère.

KJV ⁶⁷ And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

KJV ⁵² And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth.
