BCC ² Pharaon fut irrité contre ses deux officiers, contre le chef des échansons et le chef des panetiers ;

KJV ² And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.

BCC ³ et il les fit enfermer chez le chef des gardes, dans la prison, dans le lieu où Joseph était enfermé.

KJV ³ And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.

VULC ³ misit eos in carcerem principis militum, in quo erat vinctus et Joseph.

WLC ³ וַיִּתֵּ֨ן אֹתָ֜ם בְּמִשְׁמַ֗ר בֵּ֛ית שַׂ֥ר הַטַבָּחִ֖ים אֶל־ בֵּ֣ית הַסֹּ֑הַר מְק֕וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יוֹסֵ֖ף אָס֥וּר שָֽׁם׃

BCC ⁴ Le chef des gardes établit Joseph auprès d'eux, et il les servait ; et ils furent un certain temps en prison.

KJV ⁴ And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.

VULC ⁴ At custos carceris tradidit eos Joseph, qui et ministrabat eis : aliquantulum temporis fluxerat, et illi in custodia tenebantur.

BCC ⁵ L'échanson et le panetier du roi d'Égypte, qui étaient enfermés dans la prison, eurent tous deux un songe dans la même nuit, chacun le sien, ayant une signification différente.

KJV ⁵ And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.

BCC ⁶ Joseph, étant venu le matin vers eux, les regarda ; et voici, ils étaient tristes.

KJV ⁶ And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad.

BCC ⁷ Il interrogea donc les officiers de Pharaon qui étaient avec lui en prison, dans la maison de son maître, et leur dit : « Pourquoi avez-vous le visage triste aujourd'hui ? »

KJV ⁷ And he asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?

VULC ⁷ sciscitatus est eos, dicens : Cur tristior est hodie solito facies vestra ?

WLC ⁷ וַיִּשְׁאַ֞ל אֶת־ סְרִיסֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר אִתּ֧וֹ בְמִשְׁמַ֛ר בֵּ֥ית אֲדֹנָ֖יו לֵאמֹ֑ר מַדּ֛וּעַ פְּנֵיכֶ֥ם רָעִ֖ים הַיּֽוֹם׃

BCC ⁸ Ils lui dirent : « Nous avons eu un songe, et il n'y a personne ici pour l'expliquer. » Et Joseph leur dit : « N'est-ce pas à Dieu qu'appartiennent les interprétations ? Racontez-moi, je vous prie, votre songe. »

KJV ⁸ And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.

VULC ⁸ Qui responderunt : Somnium vidimus, et non est qui interpretetur nobis. Dixitque ad eos Joseph : Numquid non Dei est interpretatio ? referte mihi quid videritis.

BCC ⁹ Le chef des échansons raconta son songe à Joseph, en disant : « Dans mon songe, voici, il y avait un cep devant moi, et ce cep avait trois branches ;

KJV ⁹ And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;

KJV ¹⁰ And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:

WLC ¹⁰ וּבַגֶּ֖פֶן שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה שָׂרִיגִ֑ם וְהִ֤יא כְפֹרַ֙חַת֙ עָלְתָ֣ה נִצָּ֔הּ הִבְשִׁ֥ילוּ אַשְׁכְּלֹתֶ֖יהָ עֲנָבִֽים׃

BCC ¹¹ La coupe de Pharaon était dans ma main ; je pris des raisins, j'en pressai le jus dans la coupe de Pharaon et je mis la coupe dans la main de Pharaon. »

KJV ¹¹ And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.

VULC ¹¹ calicemque Pharaonis in manu mea : tuli ergo uvas, et expressi in calicem quem tenebam, et tradidi poculum Pharaoni.

WLC ¹¹ וְכ֥וֹס פַּרְעֹ֖ה בְּיָדִ֑י וָאֶקַּ֣ח אֶת־ הָֽעֲנָבִ֗ים וָֽאֶשְׂחַ֤ט אֹתָם֙ אֶל־ כּ֣וֹס פַּרְעֹ֔ה וָאֶתֵּ֥ן אֶת־ הַכּ֖וֹס עַל־ כַּ֥ף פַּרְעֹֽה׃

BCC ¹² Joseph lui dit : « En voici l'interprétation : les trois branches sont trois jours.

KJV ¹² And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:

VULC ¹² Respondit Joseph : Hæc est interpretatio somnii : tres propagines, tres adhuc dies sunt :

WLC ¹² וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לוֹ֙ יוֹסֵ֔ף זֶ֖ה פִּתְרֹנ֑וֹ שְׁלֹ֙שֶׁת֙ הַשָּׂ֣רִגִ֔ים שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת יָמִ֖ים הֵֽם׃

BCC ¹³ Encore trois jours, et Pharaon relèvera ta tête et te rétablira dans ta charge, et tu mettras la coupe de Pharaon dans sa main, selon ton premier office, lorsque tu étais son échanson.

KJV ¹³ Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.

VULC ¹³ post quos recordabitur Pharao ministerii tui, et restituet te in gradum pristinum : dabisque ei calicem juxta officium tuum, sicut ante facere consueveras.

WLC ¹³ בְּע֣וֹד ׀ שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֗ים יִשָּׂ֤א פַרְעֹה֙ אֶת־ רֹאשֶׁ֔ךָ וַהֲשִֽׁיבְךָ֖ עַל־ כַּנֶּ֑ךָ וְנָתַתָּ֤ כוֹס־ פַּרְעֹה֙ בְּיָד֔וֹ כַּמִּשְׁפָּט֙ הָֽרִאשׁ֔וֹן אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיִ֖יתָ מַשְׁקֵֽהוּ׃

BCC ¹⁴ Si tu te souviens de moi quand le bonheur te sera rendu, et si tu daignes user de bonté à mon égard, rappelle-moi au souvenir de Pharaon, et fais-moi sortir de cette maison.

KJV ¹⁴ But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:

VULC ¹⁴ Tantum memento mei, cum bene tibi fuerit, et facias mecum misericordiam : ut suggeras Pharaoni ut educat me de isto carcere :

WLC ¹⁴ כִּ֧י אִם־ זְכַרְתַּ֣נִי אִתְּךָ֗ כַּאֲשֶׁר֙ יִ֣יטַב לָ֔ךְ וְעָשִֽׂיתָ־ נָּ֥א עִמָּדִ֖י חָ֑סֶד וְהִזְכַּרְתַּ֙נִי֙ אֶל־ פַּרְעֹ֔ה וְהוֹצֵאתַ֖נִי מִן־ הַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּֽה׃

BCC ¹⁵ Car c'est par un rapt que j'ai été enlevé du pays des Hébreux, et ici même je n'ai rien fait pour qu'on m'ait mis dans cette prison. »

KJV ¹⁵ For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.

VULC ¹⁵ quia furto sublatus sum de terra Hebræorum, et hic innocens in lacum missus sum.

WLC ¹⁵ כִּֽי־ גֻנֹּ֣ב גֻּנַּ֔בְתִּי מֵאֶ֖רֶץ הָעִבְרִ֑ים וְגַם־ פֹּה֙ לֹא־ עָשִׂ֣יתִֽי מְא֔וּמָה כִּֽי־ שָׂמ֥וּ אֹתִ֖י בַּבּֽוֹר׃

BCC ¹⁶ Le chef des panetiers, voyant que Joseph avait donné une interprétation favorable, lui dit : « Moi aussi, dans mon songe, voici que j'avais sur la tête trois corbeilles de pain blanc.

KJV ¹⁶ When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:

VULC ¹⁶ Videns pistorum magister quod prudenter somnium dissolvisset, ait : Et ego vidi somnium : quod tria canistra farinæ haberem super caput meum :

WLC ¹⁶ וַיַּ֥רְא שַׂר־ הָאֹפִ֖ים כִּ֣י ט֣וֹב פָּתָ֑ר וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־ יוֹסֵ֔ף אַף־ אֲנִי֙ בַּחֲלוֹמִ֔י וְהִנֵּ֗ה שְׁלֹשָׁ֛ה סַלֵּ֥י חֹרִ֖י עַל־ רֹאשִֽׁי׃

BCC ¹⁷ Dans la corbeille de dessus se trouvaient toutes sortes de pâtisseries pour Pharaon, et les oiseaux les mangeaient dans la corbeille qui était sur ma tête. »

KJV ¹⁷ And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of bakemeats for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head.

VULC ¹⁷ et in uno canistro quod erat excelsius, portare me omnes cibos qui fiunt arte pistoria, avesque comedere ex eo.

WLC ¹⁷ וּבַסַּ֣ל הָֽעֶלְי֔וֹן מִכֹּ֛ל מַאֲכַ֥ל פַּרְעֹ֖ה מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה אֹפֶ֑ה וְהָע֗וֹף אֹכֵ֥ל אֹתָ֛ם מִן־ הַסַּ֖ל מֵעַ֥ל רֹאשִֽׁי׃

BCC ¹⁸ Joseph répondit : « En voici l'interprétation : les trois corbeilles sont trois jours.

KJV ¹⁸ And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days:

WLC ¹⁸ וַיַּ֤עַן יוֹסֵף֙ וַיֹּ֔אמֶר זֶ֖ה פִּתְרֹנ֑וֹ שְׁלֹ֙שֶׁת֙ הַסַּלִּ֔ים שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת יָמִ֖ים הֵֽם׃

BCC ¹⁹ Encore trois jours, et Pharaon enlèvera ta tète de dessus toi et te pendra à un bois, et les oiseaux dévoreront ta chair de dessus toi. »

KJV ¹⁹ Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.

VULC ¹⁹ post quos auferet Pharao caput tuum, ac suspendet te in cruce, et lacerabunt volucres carnes tuas.

BCC ²⁰ Le troisième jour, qui était le jour de la naissance de Pharaon, il donna un festin à tous ses serviteurs ; et il éleva la tête du chef des échansons et la tête du chef des panetiers :

KJV ²⁰ And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.

WLC ²⁰ וַיְהִ֣י ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֗י י֚וֹם הֻלֶּ֣דֶת אֶת־ פַּרְעֹ֔ה וַיַּ֥עַשׂ מִשְׁתֶּ֖ה לְכָל־ עֲבָדָ֑יו וַיִּשָּׂ֞א אֶת־ רֹ֣אשׁ ׀ שַׂ֣ר הַמַּשְׁקִ֗ים וְאֶת־ רֹ֛אשׁ שַׂ֥ר הָאֹפִ֖ים בְּת֥וֹךְ עֲבָדָֽיו׃

BCC ²¹ il rétablit le chef des échansons dans son office d'échanson, et celui-ci mit la coupe dans la main de Pharaon ;

KJV ²¹ And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand:

VULC ²¹ Restituitque alterum in locum suum, ut porrigeret ei poculum :

WLC ²¹ וַיָּ֛שֶׁב אֶת־ שַׂ֥ר הַמַּשְׁקִ֖ים עַל־ מַשְׁקֵ֑הוּ וַיִּתֵּ֥ן הַכּ֖וֹס עַל־ כַּ֥ף פַּרְעֹֽה׃

BCC ²² et il fit pendre le chef des panetiers, selon l'interprétation que Joseph leur avait donnée.

KJV ²² But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.

VULC ²² alterum suspendit in patibulo, ut conjectoris veritas probaretur.

WLC ²² וְאֵ֛ת שַׂ֥ר הָאֹפִ֖ים תָּלָ֑ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּתַ֛ר לָהֶ֖ם יוֹסֵֽף׃

BCC ²³ Mais le chef des échansons ne parla pas de Joseph, et l'oublia.

KJV ²³ Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.

VULC ²³ Et tamen succedentibus prosperis, præpositus pincernarum oblitus est interpretis sui.

WLC ²³ וְלֹֽא־ זָכַ֧ר שַֽׂר־ הַמַּשְׁקִ֛ים אֶת־ יוֹסֵ֖ף וַיִּשְׁכָּחֵֽהוּ׃
