KJV 9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

VULC 9 Hæ sunt generationes Noë : Noë vir justus atque perfectus fuit in generationibus suis ; cum Deo ambulavit.

KJV 10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

VULC 10 Et genuit tres filios, Sem, Cham et Japheth.

KJV 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

VULC 11 Corrupta est autem terra coram Deo, et repleta est iniquitate.

KJV 12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

VULC 12 Cumque vidisset Deus terram esse corruptam (omnis quippe caro corruperat viam suam super terram),

KJV 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

VULC 13 dixit ad Noë : Finis universæ carnis venit coram me : repleta est terra iniquitate a facie eorum, et ego disperdam eos cum terra.

KJV 14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

VULC 14 Fac tibi arcam de lignis lævigatis ; mansiunculas in arca facies, et bitumine linies intrinsecus et extrinsecus.

KJV 15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

VULC 15 Et sic facies eam : trecentorum cubitorum erit longitudo arcæ, quinquaginta cubitorum latitudo, et triginta cubitorum altitudo illius.

KJV 16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

VULC 16 Fenestram in arca facies, et in cubito consummabis summitatem ejus : ostium autem arcæ pones ex latere ; deorsum, cœnacula et tristega facies in ea.

KJV 17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

VULC 17 Ecce ego adducam aquas diluvii super terram, ut interficiam omnem carnem, in qua spiritus vitæ est subter cælum : universa quæ in terra sunt, consumentur.

KJV 18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.

VULC 18 Ponamque fœdus meum tecum : et ingredieris arcam tu et filii tui, uxor tua, et uxores filiorum tuorum tecum.

KJV 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.

VULC 19 Et ex cunctis animantibus universæ carnis bina induces in arcam, ut vivant tecum : masculini sexus et feminini.

KJV 20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.

VULC 20 De volucribus juxta genus suum, et de jumentis in genere suo, et ex omni reptili terræ secundum genus suum : bina de omnibus ingredientur tecum, ut possint vivere.

KJV 21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.

VULC 21 Tolles igitur tecum ex omnibus escis, quæ mandi possunt, et comportabis apud te : et erunt tam tibi, quam illis in cibum.

KJV 22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

VULC 22 Fecit igitur Noë omnia quæ præceperat illi Deus.

KJV 1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

VULC 1 Dixitque Dominus ad eum : Ingredere tu et omnis domus tua in arcam : te enim vidi justum coram me in generatione hac.

KJV 2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

KJV 3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

KJV 4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

VULC 4 Adhuc enim, et post dies septem ego pluam super terram quadraginta diebus et quadraginta noctibus : et delebo omnem substantiam, quam feci, de superficie terræ.

KJV 5 And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.

KJV 6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

VULC 6 Eratque sexcentorum annorum quando diluvii aquæ inundaverunt super terram.

KJV 7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

VULC 7 Et ingressus est Noë et filii ejus, uxor ejus et uxores filiorum ejus cum eo in arcam propter aquas diluvii.

KJV 8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,

VULC 8 De animantibus quoque mundis et immundis, et de volucribus, et ex omni quod movetur super terram,

KJV 9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

KJV 10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

VULC 10 Cumque transissent septem dies, aquæ diluvii inundaverunt super terram.

KJV 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

VULC 11 Anno sexcentesimo vitæ Noë, mense secundo, septimodecimo die mensis, rupti sunt omnes fontes abyssi magnæ, et cataractæ cæli apertæ sunt :

KJV 12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

KJV 13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

VULC 13 In articulo diei illius ingressus est Noë, et Sem, et Cham, et Japheth filii ejus ; uxor illius, et tres uxores filiorum ejus cum eis in arcam :

KJV 14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.

VULC 14 ipsi et omne animal secundum genus suum, universaque jumenta in genere suo, et omne quod movetur super terram in genere suo, cunctumque volatile secundum genus suum, universæ aves, omnesque volucres,

KJV 15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

VULC 15 ingressæ sunt ad Noë in arcam, bina et bina ex omni carne, in qua erat spiritus vitæ.

KJV 16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

KJV 17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

VULC 17 Factumque est diluvium quadraginta diebus super terram : et multiplicatæ sunt aquæ, et elevaverunt arcam in sublime a terra.

KJV 18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

VULC 18 Vehementer enim inundaverunt, et omnia repleverunt in superficie terræ : porro arca ferebatur super aquas.

KJV 19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

VULC 19 Et aquæ prævaluerunt nimis super terram : opertique sunt omnes montes excelsi sub universo cælo.

KJV 20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

VULC 20 Quindecim cubitis altior fuit aqua super montes, quos operuerat.

KJV 21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

VULC 21 Consumptaque est omnis caro quæ movebatur super terram, volucrum, animantium, bestiarum, omniumque reptilium, quæ reptant super terram : universi homines,

KJV 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

VULC 22 et cuncta, in quibus spiraculum vitæ est in terra, mortua sunt.

KJV 23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

VULC 23 Et delevit omnem substantiam quæ erat super terram, ab homine usque ad pecus, tam reptile quam volucres cæli : et deleta sunt de terra. Remansit autem solus Noë, et qui cum eo erant in arca.

KJV 24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

VULC 24 Obtinueruntque aquæ terram centum quinquaginta diebus.

KJV 1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;

VULC 1 Recordatus autem Deus Noë, cunctorumque animantium, et omnium jumentorum, quæ erant cum eo in arca, adduxit spiritum super terram, et imminutæ sunt aquæ.

KJV 2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

VULC 2 Et clausi sunt fontes abyssi, et cataractæ cæli : et prohibitæ sunt pluviæ de cælo.

KJV 3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

VULC 3 Reversæque sunt aquæ de terra euntes et redeuntes : et cœperunt minui post centum quinquaginta dies.

KJV 4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

VULC 4 Requievitque arca mense septimo, vigesimo septimo die mensis, super montes Armeniæ.

KJV 5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

VULC 5 At vero aquæ ibant et decrescebant usque ad decimum mensem : decimo enim mense, primo die mensis, apparuerunt cacumina montium.

KJV 6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:

VULC 6 Cumque transissent quadraginta dies, aperiens Noë fenestram arcæ, quam fecerat, dimisit corvum,

KJV 7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

VULC 7 qui egrediebatur, et non revertebatur, donec siccarentur aquæ super terram.

KJV 8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;

VULC 8 Emisit quoque columbam post eum, ut videret si jam cessassent aquæ super faciem terræ.

KJV 9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

VULC 9 Quæ cum non invenisset ubi requiesceret pes ejus, reversa est ad eum in arcam : aquæ enim erant super universam terram : extenditque manum, et apprehensam intulit in arcam.

KJV 10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;

VULC 10 Expectatis autem ultra septem diebus aliis, rursum dimisit columbam ex arca.

KJV 11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

VULC 11 At illa venit ad eum ad vesperam, portans ramum olivæ virentibus foliis in ore suo : intellexit ergo Noë quod cessassent aquæ super terram.

KJV 12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

VULC 12 Expectavitque nihilominus septem alios dies : et emisit columbam, quæ non est reversa ultra ad eum.

KJV 13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

VULC 13 Igitur sexcentesimo primo anno, primo mense, prima die mensis, imminutæ sunt aquæ super terram : et aperiens Noë tectum arcæ, aspexit, viditque quod exsiccata esset superficies terræ.

KJV 14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

VULC 14 Mense secundo, septimo et vigesimo die mensis arefacta est terra.

KJV 15 And God spake unto Noah, saying,

VULC 15 Locutus est autem Deus ad Noë, dicens :

KJV 16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.

VULC 16 Egredere de arca, tu et uxor tua, filii tui et uxores filiorum tuorum tecum.

KJV 17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

VULC 17 Cuncta animantia, quæ sunt apud te, ex omni carne, tam in volatilibus quam in bestiis et universis reptilibus, quæ reptant super terram, educ tecum, et ingredimini super terram : crescite et multiplicamini super eam.

KJV 18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:

VULC 18 Egressus est ergo Noë, et filii ejus : uxor illius, et uxores filiorum ejus cum eo.

KJV 19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

VULC 19 Sed et omnia animantia, jumenta, et reptilia quæ reptant super terram, secundum genus suum, egressa sunt de arca.

KJV 20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

VULC 20 Ædificavit autem Noë altare Domino : et tollens de cunctis pecoribus et volucribus mundis, obtulit holocausta super altare.

KJV 21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

VULC 21 Odoratusque est Dominus odorem suavitatis, et ait : Nequaquam ultra maledicam terræ propter homines : sensus enim et cogitatio humani cordis in malum prona sunt ab adolescentia sua : non igitur ultra percutiam omnem animam viventem sicut feci.

KJV 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

VULC 22 Cunctis diebus terræ, sementis et messis, frigus et æstus, æstas et hiems, nox et dies non requiescent.
