BAN ¹ Et Dieu bénit Noé et ses fils, et leur dit : Fructifiez, multipliez-vous et remplissez la terre.

KJV ¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

WLC ¹ וַיְבָ֣רֶךְ אֱלֹהִ֔ים אֶת־ נֹ֖חַ וְאֶת־ בָּנָ֑יו וַיֹּ֧אמֶר לָהֶ֛ם פְּר֥וּ וּרְב֖וּ וּמִלְא֥וּ אֶת־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃

BAN ² Vous serez craints et redoutés de tout animal de la terre et de tout oiseau des cieux ; toutes les bêtes qui rampent sur la terre et tous les poissons de la mer vous sont livrés.

KJV ² And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

WLC ² וּמוֹרַאֲכֶ֤ם וְחִתְּכֶם֙ יִֽהְיֶ֔ה עַ֚ל כָּל־ חַיַּ֣ת הָאָ֔רֶץ וְעַ֖ל כָּל־ ע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם בְּכֹל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר תִּרְמֹ֧שׂ הָֽאֲדָמָ֛ה וּֽבְכָל־ דְּגֵ֥י הַיָּ֖ם בְּיֶדְכֶ֥ם נִתָּֽנוּ׃

BAN ³ Tout ce qui a mouvement et vie vous servira de nourriture ; je vous ai donné tout cela comme la verdure des plantes ;

KJV ³ Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

WLC ³ כָּל־ רֶ֙מֶשׂ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הוּא־ חַ֔י לָכֶ֥ם יִהְיֶ֖ה לְאָכְלָ֑ה כְּיֶ֣רֶק עֵ֔שֶׂב נָתַ֥תִּי לָכֶ֖ם אֶת־ כֹּֽל׃

BAN ⁴ seulement vous ne mangerez pas de chair avec son âme, avec son sang,

KJV ⁴ But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

WLC ⁴ אַךְ־ בָּשָׂ֕ר בְּנַפְשׁ֥וֹ דָמ֖וֹ לֹ֥א תֹאכֵֽלוּ׃

BAN ⁵ et votre sang à vous, j'en demanderai compte à cause de vos âmes ; j'en demanderai compte à tout animal ; et de la main de l'homme, de la main de chaque frère je redemanderai l'âme de l'homme.

KJV ⁵ And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

WLC ⁵ וְאַ֨ךְ אֶת־ דִּמְכֶ֤ם לְנַפְשֹֽׁתֵיכֶם֙ אֶדְרֹ֔שׁ מִיַּ֥ד כָּל־ חַיָּ֖ה אֶדְרְשֶׁ֑נּוּ וּמִיַּ֣ד הָֽאָדָ֗ם מִיַּד֙ אִ֣ישׁ אָחִ֔יו אֶדְרֹ֖שׁ אֶת־ נֶ֥פֶשׁ הָֽאָדָֽם׃

BAN ⁶ Qui versera le sang de l'homme, par l'homme son sang sera versé, car Dieu a fait l'homme à son image.

KJV ⁶ Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

WLC ⁶ שֹׁפֵךְ֙ דַּ֣ם הָֽאָדָ֔ם בָּֽאָדָ֖ם דָּמ֣וֹ יִשָּׁפֵ֑ךְ כִּ֚י בְּצֶ֣לֶם אֱלֹהִ֔ים עָשָׂ֖ה אֶת־ הָאָדָֽם׃

BAN ⁷ Et vous, fructifiez et multipliez-vous, abondez sur la terre et vous y multipliez.

KJV ⁷ And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

WLC ⁷ וְאַתֶּ֖ם פְּר֣וּ וּרְב֑וּ שִׁרְצ֥וּ בָאָ֖רֶץ וּרְבוּ־ בָֽהּ׃

BAN ⁸ Et Dieu dit à Noé et à ses fils avec lui :

KJV ⁸ And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,

WLC ⁸ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶל־ נֹ֔חַ וְאֶל־ בָּנָ֥יו אִתּ֖וֹ לֵאמֹֽר׃

BAN ⁹ Et moi, je vais établir mon alliance avec vous et avec votre postérité après vous,

KJV ⁹ And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

WLC ⁹ וַאֲנִ֕י הִנְנִ֥י מֵקִ֛ים אֶת־ בְּרִיתִ֖י אִתְּכֶ֑ם וְאֶֽת־ זַרְעֲכֶ֖ם אַֽחֲרֵיכֶֽם׃

BAN ¹⁰ avec tout être vivant qui est avec vous, oiseau, bétail, et tout animal de la terre qui est avec vous, depuis ceux qui sont sortis de l'arche jusqu'à tout animal de la terre ;

KJV ¹⁰ And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

WLC ¹⁰ וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־ נֶ֤פֶשׁ הַֽחַיָּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתְּכֶ֔ם בָּע֧וֹף בַּבְּהֵמָ֛ה וּֽבְכָל־ חַיַּ֥ת הָאָ֖רֶץ אִתְּכֶ֑ם מִכֹּל֙ יֹצְאֵ֣י הַתֵּבָ֔ה לְכֹ֖ל חַיַּ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃

BAN ¹¹ j'établis avec vous cette alliance, que désormais nulle chair ne soit détruite par les eaux du déluge, et qu'il n'y ait plus de déluge pour ravager la terre.

KJV ¹¹ And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

WLC ¹¹ וַהֲקִמֹתִ֤י אֶת־ בְּרִיתִי֙ אִתְּכֶ֔ם וְלֹֽא־ יִכָּרֵ֧ת כָּל־ בָּשָׂ֛ר ע֖וֹד מִמֵּ֣י הַמַּבּ֑וּל וְלֹֽא־ יִהְיֶ֥ה ע֛וֹד מַבּ֖וּל לְשַׁחֵ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃

BAN ¹² Et Dieu dit : Voici le signe de l'alliance que je mets entre moi et vous et tout être vivant qui est avec vous, à perpétuité.

KJV ¹² And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

WLC ¹² וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֗ים זֹ֤את אֽוֹת־ הַבְּרִית֙ אֲשֶׁר־ אֲנִ֣י נֹתֵ֗ן בֵּינִי֙ וּבֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔ם וּבֵ֛ין כָּל־ נֶ֥פֶשׁ חַיָּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתְּכֶ֑ם לְדֹרֹ֖ת עוֹלָֽם׃

BAN ¹³ J'ai mis mon arc dans la nuée, et il deviendra signe d'alliance entre moi et la terre.

KJV ¹³ I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

WLC ¹³ אֶת־ קַשְׁתִּ֕י נָתַ֖תִּי בֶּֽעָנָ֑ן וְהָֽיְתָה֙ לְא֣וֹת בְּרִ֔ית בֵּינִ֖י וּבֵ֥ין הָאָֽרֶץ׃

BAN ¹⁴ Il arrivera que quand j'amoncellerai des nuées sur la terre, l'arc apparaîtra dans la nuée ;

KJV ¹⁴ And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

WLC ¹⁴ וְהָיָ֕ה בְּעַֽנְנִ֥י עָנָ֖ן עַל־ הָאָ֑רֶץ וְנִרְאֲתָ֥ה הַקֶּ֖שֶׁת בֶּעָנָֽן׃

BAN ¹⁵ et je me souviendrai de l'alliance que j'ai avec vous et avec tout être vivant, de quelque sorte qu'il soit, pour que les eaux ne deviennent plus un déluge détruisant les créatures de toute sorte.

KJV ¹⁵ And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

WLC ¹⁵ וְזָכַרְתִּ֣י אֶת־ בְּרִיתִ֗י אֲשֶׁ֤ר בֵּינִי֙ וּבֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔ם וּבֵ֛ין כָּל־ נֶ֥פֶשׁ חַיָּ֖ה בְּכָל־ בָּשָׂ֑ר וְלֹֽא־ יִֽהְיֶ֨ה ע֤וֹד הַמַּ֙יִם֙ לְמַבּ֔וּל לְשַׁחֵ֖ת כָּל־ בָּשָֽׂר׃

BAN ¹⁶ Et l'arc sera dans la nuée, et en le voyant je me souviendrai de l'alliance perpétuelle qui existe entre Dieu et tout être, de quelque sorte que ce soit, qui vit sur la terre.

KJV ¹⁶ And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

WLC ¹⁶ וְהָיְתָ֥ה הַקֶּ֖שֶׁת בֶּֽעָנָ֑ן וּרְאִיתִ֗יהָ לִזְכֹּר֙ בְּרִ֣ית עוֹלָ֔ם בֵּ֣ין אֱלֹהִ֔ים וּבֵין֙ כָּל־ נֶ֣פֶשׁ חַיָּ֔ה בְּכָל־ בָּשָׂ֖ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃

BAN ¹⁷ Et Dieu dit à Noé : Tel est le signe de l'alliance que j'ai établie entre moi et toute chair qui est sur la terre.

KJV ¹⁷ And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶל־ נֹ֑חַ זֹ֤את אֽוֹת־ הַבְּרִית֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֲקִמֹ֔תִי בֵּינִ֕י וּבֵ֥ין כָּל־ בָּשָׂ֖ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃

BAN ¹⁸ Et les fils de Noé qui sortirent de l'arche étaient Sem, Cham et Japheth ; et Cham était père de Canaan.

KJV ¹⁸ And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.

WLC ¹⁸ וַיִּֽהְי֣וּ בְנֵי־ נֹ֗חַ הַיֹּֽצְאִים֙ מִן־ הַתֵּבָ֔ה שֵׁ֖ם וְחָ֣ם וָיָ֑פֶת וְחָ֕ם ה֖וּא אֲבִ֥י כְנָֽעַן׃

BAN ¹⁹ Ces trois sont les fils de Noé, et c'est d'eux que descendent les habitants de toute la terre.

KJV ¹⁹ These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.

WLC ¹⁹ שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵי־ נֹ֑חַ וּמֵאֵ֖לֶּה נָֽפְצָ֥ה כָל־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃

BAN ²⁰ Et Noé, qui était cultivateur, commença à planter de la vigne,

KJV ²⁰ And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:

WLC ²⁰ וַיָּ֥חֶל נֹ֖חַ אִ֣ישׁ הָֽאֲדָמָ֑ה וַיִּטַּ֖ע כָּֽרֶם׃

BAN ²¹ et il but du vin et fut ivre, et il se découvrit au milieu de sa tente.

KJV ²¹ And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

WLC ²¹ וַיֵּ֥שְׁתְּ מִן־ הַיַּ֖יִן וַיִּשְׁכָּ֑ר וַיִּתְגַּ֖ל בְּת֥וֹךְ אָהֳלֹֽה׃

BAN ²² Et Cham, père de Canaan, vit la nudité de son père et le rapporta à ses deux frères dehors.

KJV ²² And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

WLC ²² וַיַּ֗רְא חָ֚ם אֲבִ֣י כְנַ֔עַן אֵ֖ת עֶרְוַ֣ת אָבִ֑יו וַיַּגֵּ֥ד לִשְׁנֵֽי־ אֶחָ֖יו בַּחֽוּץ׃

BAN ²³ Et Sem avec Japheth prit le manteau, et ils le mirent sur leurs épaules à tous deux, et ils marchèrent en arrière et couvrirent la nudité de leur père. Leurs faces étant tournées en arrière, ils n'avaient point vu la nudité de leur père.

KJV ²³ And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.

WLC ²³ וַיִּקַּח֩ שֵׁ֨ם וָיֶ֜פֶת אֶת־ הַשִּׂמְלָ֗ה וַיָּשִׂ֙ימוּ֙ עַל־ שְׁכֶ֣ם שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם וַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙ אֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔ית וַיְכַסּ֕וּ אֵ֖ת עֶרְוַ֣ת אֲבִיהֶ֑ם וּפְנֵיהֶם֙ אֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔ית וְעֶרְוַ֥ת אֲבִיהֶ֖ם לֹ֥א רָאֽוּ׃

BAN ²⁴ Et Noé se réveilla de son ivresse, et il sut ce que lui avait fait son plus jeune fils,

KJV ²⁴ And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

WLC ²⁴ וַיִּ֥יקֶץ נֹ֖חַ מִיֵּינ֑וֹ וַיֵּ֕דַע אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־ עָ֥שָׂה־ ל֖וֹ בְּנ֥וֹ הַקָּטָֽן׃

BAN ²⁵ et il dit : Maudit soit Canaan ! Il sera pour ses frères le serviteur des serviteurs.

KJV ²⁵ And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

WLC ²⁵ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אָר֣וּר כְּנָ֑עַן עֶ֥בֶד עֲבָדִ֖ים יִֽהְיֶ֥ה לְאֶחָֽיו׃

BAN ²⁶ Puis il dit :
Béni soit l'Eternel, Dieu de Sem,
Et que Canaan soit son serviteur.

KJV ²⁶ And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

WLC ²⁶ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר בָּר֥וּךְ יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹ֣הֵי שֵׁ֑ם וִיהִ֥י כְנַ֖עַן עֶ֥בֶד לָֽמוֹ׃

BAN ²⁷ Que Dieu donne de l'espace à Japheth,
Et qu'il habite dans les tentes de Sem ;
Et que Canaan soit son serviteur.

KJV ²⁷ God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

WLC ²⁷ יַ֤פְתְּ אֱלֹהִים֙ לְיֶ֔פֶת וְיִשְׁכֹּ֖ן בְּאָֽהֳלֵי־ שֵׁ֑ם וִיהִ֥י כְנַ֖עַן עֶ֥בֶד לָֽמוֹ׃

BAN ²⁸ Et Noé vécut après le déluge trois cent cinquante ans.

KJV ²⁸ And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.

WLC ²⁸ וַֽיְחִי־ נֹ֖חַ אַחַ֣ר הַמַּבּ֑וּל שְׁלֹ֤שׁ מֵאוֹת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וַֽחֲמִשִּׁ֖ים שָׁנָֽה׃

BAN ²⁹ Et tous les jours de Noé furent neuf cent cinquante ans, et il mourut.

KJV ²⁹ And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

WLC ²⁹ וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־ יְמֵי־ נֹ֔חַ תְּשַׁ֤ע מֵאוֹת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וַחֲמִשִּׁ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃
