KJV ¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

KJV ² And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

VULC ² Et terror vester ac tremor sit super cuncta animalia terræ, et super omnes volucres cæli, cum universis quæ moventur super terram : omnes pisces maris manui vestræ traditi sunt.

WLC ² וּמוֹרַאֲכֶ֤ם וְחִתְּכֶם֙ יִֽהְיֶ֔ה עַ֚ל כָּל־ חַיַּ֣ת הָאָ֔רֶץ וְעַ֖ל כָּל־ ע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם בְּכֹל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר תִּרְמֹ֧שׂ הָֽאֲדָמָ֛ה וּֽבְכָל־ דְּגֵ֥י הַיָּ֖ם בְּיֶדְכֶ֥ם נִתָּֽנוּ׃

KJV ³ Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

VULC ³ Et omne, quod movetur et vivit, erit vobis in cibum : quasi olera virentia tradidi vobis omnia.

KJV ⁴ But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

VULC ⁴ Excepto, quod carnem cum sanguine non comedetis.

WLC ⁴ אַךְ־ בָּשָׂ֕ר בְּנַפְשׁ֥וֹ דָמ֖וֹ לֹ֥א תֹאכֵֽלוּ׃

KJV ⁵ And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

VULC ⁵ Sanguinem enim animarum vestrarum requiram de manu cunctarum bestiarum : et de manu hominis, de manu viri, et fratris ejus requiram animam hominis.

KJV ⁶ Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

VULC ⁶ Quicumque effuderit humanum sanguinem, fundetur sanguis illius : ad imaginem quippe Dei factus est homo.

KJV ⁷ And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

KJV ⁸ And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,

WLC ⁸ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶל־ נֹ֔חַ וְאֶל־ בָּנָ֥יו אִתּ֖וֹ לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV ⁹ And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

VULC ⁹ Ecce ego statuam pactum meum vobiscum, et cum semine vestro post vos :

WLC ⁹ וַאֲנִ֕י הִנְנִ֥י מֵקִ֛ים אֶת־ בְּרִיתִ֖י אִתְּכֶ֑ם וְאֶֽת־ זַרְעֲכֶ֖ם אַֽחֲרֵיכֶֽם׃

KJV ¹⁰ And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

VULC ¹⁰ et ad omnem animam viventem, quæ est vobiscum, tam in volucribus quam in jumentis et pecudibus terræ cunctis, quæ egressa sunt de arca, et universis bestiis terræ.

KJV ¹¹ And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

VULC ¹¹ Statuam pactum meum vobiscum, et nequaquam ultra interficietur omnis caro aquis diluvii, neque erit deinceps diluvium dissipans terram.

WLC ¹¹ וַהֲקִמֹתִ֤י אֶת־ בְּרִיתִי֙ אִתְּכֶ֔ם וְלֹֽא־ יִכָּרֵ֧ת כָּל־ בָּשָׂ֛ר ע֖וֹד מִמֵּ֣י הַמַּבּ֑וּל וְלֹֽא־ יִהְיֶ֥ה ע֛וֹד מַבּ֖וּל לְשַׁחֵ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ¹² And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

VULC ¹² Dixitque Deus : Hoc signum fœderis quod do inter me et vos, et ad omnem animam viventem, quæ est vobiscum in generationes sempiternas :

WLC ¹² וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֗ים זֹ֤את אֽוֹת־ הַבְּרִית֙ אֲשֶׁר־ אֲנִ֣י נֹתֵ֗ן בֵּינִי֙ וּבֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔ם וּבֵ֛ין כָּל־ נֶ֥פֶשׁ חַיָּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתְּכֶ֑ם לְדֹרֹ֖ת עוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ¹³ I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

VULC ¹³ arcum meum ponam in nubibus, et erit signum fœderis inter me et inter terram.

WLC ¹³ אֶת־ קַשְׁתִּ֕י נָתַ֖תִּי בֶּֽעָנָ֑ן וְהָֽיְתָה֙ לְא֣וֹת בְּרִ֔ית בֵּינִ֖י וּבֵ֥ין הָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ¹⁴ And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

VULC ¹⁴ Cumque obduxero nubibus cælum, apparebit arcus meus in nubibus :

WLC ¹⁴ וְהָיָ֕ה בְּעַֽנְנִ֥י עָנָ֖ן עַל־ הָאָ֑רֶץ וְנִרְאֲתָ֥ה הַקֶּ֖שֶׁת בֶּעָנָֽן׃

KJV ¹⁵ And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

VULC ¹⁵ et recordabor fœderis mei vobiscum, et cum omni anima vivente quæ carnem vegetat : et non erunt ultra aquæ diluvii ad delendum universam carnem.

WLC ¹⁵ וְזָכַרְתִּ֣י אֶת־ בְּרִיתִ֗י אֲשֶׁ֤ר בֵּינִי֙ וּבֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔ם וּבֵ֛ין כָּל־ נֶ֥פֶשׁ חַיָּ֖ה בְּכָל־ בָּשָׂ֑ר וְלֹֽא־ יִֽהְיֶ֨ה ע֤וֹד הַמַּ֙יִם֙ לְמַבּ֔וּל לְשַׁחֵ֖ת כָּל־ בָּשָֽׂר׃

KJV ¹⁶ And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

VULC ¹⁶ Eritque arcus in nubibus, et videbo illum, et recordabor fœderis sempiterni quod pactum est inter Deum et omnem animam viventem universæ carnis quæ est super terram.

WLC ¹⁶ וְהָיְתָ֥ה הַקֶּ֖שֶׁת בֶּֽעָנָ֑ן וּרְאִיתִ֗יהָ לִזְכֹּר֙ בְּרִ֣ית עוֹלָ֔ם בֵּ֣ין אֱלֹהִ֔ים וּבֵין֙ כָּל־ נֶ֣פֶשׁ חַיָּ֔ה בְּכָל־ בָּשָׂ֖ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ¹⁷ And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶל־ נֹ֑חַ זֹ֤את אֽוֹת־ הַבְּרִית֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֲקִמֹ֔תִי בֵּינִ֕י וּבֵ֥ין כָּל־ בָּשָׂ֖ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ¹⁸ And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.

VULC ¹⁸ Erant ergo filii Noë, qui egressi sunt de arca, Sem, Cham et Japheth : porro Cham ipse est pater Chanaan.

WLC ¹⁸ וַיִּֽהְי֣וּ בְנֵי־ נֹ֗חַ הַיֹּֽצְאִים֙ מִן־ הַתֵּבָ֔ה שֵׁ֖ם וְחָ֣ם וָיָ֑פֶת וְחָ֕ם ה֖וּא אֲבִ֥י כְנָֽעַן׃

KJV ¹⁹ These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.

VULC ¹⁹ Tres isti filii sunt Noë : et ab his disseminatum est omne genus hominum super universam terram.

WLC ¹⁹ שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵי־ נֹ֑חַ וּמֵאֵ֖לֶּה נָֽפְצָ֥ה כָל־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ²⁰ And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:

VULC ²⁰ Cœpitque Noë vir agricola exercere terram, et plantavit vineam.

WLC ²⁰ וַיָּ֥חֶל נֹ֖חַ אִ֣ישׁ הָֽאֲדָמָ֑ה וַיִּטַּ֖ע כָּֽרֶם׃

KJV ²¹ And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

VULC ²¹ Bibensque vinum inebriatus est, et nudatus in tabernaculo suo.

WLC ²¹ וַיֵּ֥שְׁתְּ מִן־ הַיַּ֖יִן וַיִּשְׁכָּ֑ר וַיִּתְגַּ֖ל בְּת֥וֹךְ אָהֳלֹֽה׃

KJV ²² And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

VULC ²² Quod cum vidisset Cham, pater Chanaan, verenda scilicet patris sui esse nudata, nuntiavit duobus fratribus suis foras.

WLC ²² וַיַּ֗רְא חָ֚ם אֲבִ֣י כְנַ֔עַן אֵ֖ת עֶרְוַ֣ת אָבִ֑יו וַיַּגֵּ֥ד לִשְׁנֵֽי־ אֶחָ֖יו בַּחֽוּץ׃

KJV ²³ And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.

VULC ²³ At vero Sem et Japheth pallium imposuerunt humeris suis, et incedentes retrorsum, operuerunt verenda patris sui : faciesque eorum aversæ erant, et patris virilia non viderunt.

WLC ²³ וַיִּקַּח֩ שֵׁ֨ם וָיֶ֜פֶת אֶת־ הַשִּׂמְלָ֗ה וַיָּשִׂ֙ימוּ֙ עַל־ שְׁכֶ֣ם שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם וַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙ אֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔ית וַיְכַסּ֕וּ אֵ֖ת עֶרְוַ֣ת אֲבִיהֶ֑ם וּפְנֵיהֶם֙ אֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔ית וְעֶרְוַ֥ת אֲבִיהֶ֖ם לֹ֥א רָאֽוּ׃

KJV ²⁴ And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

VULC ²⁴ Evigilans autem Noë ex vino, cum didicisset quæ fecerat ei filius suus minor,

WLC ²⁴ וַיִּ֥יקֶץ נֹ֖חַ מִיֵּינ֑וֹ וַיֵּ֕דַע אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־ עָ֥שָׂה־ ל֖וֹ בְּנ֥וֹ הַקָּטָֽן׃

KJV ²⁵ And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

VULC ²⁵ ait : [Maledictus Chanaan,
servus servorum erit fratribus suis.]

WLC ²⁵ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אָר֣וּר כְּנָ֑עַן עֶ֥בֶד עֲבָדִ֖ים יִֽהְיֶ֥ה לְאֶחָֽיו׃

KJV ²⁶ And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

VULC ²⁶ Dixitque : [Benedictus Dominus Deus Sem,
sit Chanaan servus ejus.

WLC ²⁶ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר בָּר֥וּךְ יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹ֣הֵי שֵׁ֑ם וִיהִ֥י כְנַ֖עַן עֶ֥בֶד לָֽמוֹ׃

KJV ²⁷ God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

VULC ²⁷ Dilatet Deus Japheth, et habitet in tabernaculis Sem,
sitque Chanaan servus ejus.]

WLC ²⁷ יַ֤פְתְּ אֱלֹהִים֙ לְיֶ֔פֶת וְיִשְׁכֹּ֖ן בְּאָֽהֳלֵי־ שֵׁ֑ם וִיהִ֥י כְנַ֖עַן עֶ֥בֶד לָֽמוֹ׃

KJV ²⁸ And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.

VULC ²⁸ Vixit autem Noë post diluvium trecentis quinquaginta annis.

WLC ²⁸ וַֽיְחִי־ נֹ֖חַ אַחַ֣ר הַמַּבּ֑וּל שְׁלֹ֤שׁ מֵאוֹת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וַֽחֲמִשִּׁ֖ים שָׁנָֽה׃

KJV ²⁹ And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

VULC ²⁹ Et impleti sunt omnes dies ejus nongentorum quinquaginta annorum : et mortuus est.

WLC ²⁹ וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־ יְמֵי־ נֹ֔חַ תְּשַׁ֤ע מֵאוֹת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וַחֲמִשִּׁ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּמֹֽת׃
