WLC ¹ תְּפִלָּ֖ה לַחֲבַקּ֣וּק הַנָּבִ֑יא עַ֖ל שִׁגְיֹנֽוֹת׃

KJV ² O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.

S21 ² Eternel, j'ai entendu ce que tu as annoncé, je suis saisi de crainte.
Accomplis ton œuvre dans le cours des années, Eternel,
dans le cours des années fais-la connaître,
mais dans ta colère souviens-toi de ta compassion!

VULC ² [Domine, audivi auditionem tuam, et timui.
Domine, opus tuum, in medio annorum vivifica illud ;
in medio annorum notum facies :
cum iratus fueris, misericordiæ recordaberis.

WLC ² יְהוָ֗ה שָׁמַ֣עְתִּי שִׁמְעֲךָ֮ יָרֵאתִי֒ יְהוָ֗ה פָּֽעָלְךָ֙ בְּקֶ֤רֶב שָׁנִים֙ חַיֵּ֔יהוּ בְּקֶ֥רֶב שָׁנִ֖ים תּוֹדִ֑יעַ בְּרֹ֖גֶז רַחֵ֥ם תִּזְכּֽוֹר׃

KJV ³ God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

S21 ³ Dieu vient de Théman,
le Saint vient des monts de Paran.    – Pause.
Sa majesté couvre le ciel
et sa gloire remplit la terre.

VULC ³ Deus ab austro veniet,
et Sanctus de monte Pharan :
operuit cælos gloria ejus,
et laudis ejus plena est terra.

WLC ³ אֱל֙וֹהַ֙ מִתֵּימָ֣ן יָב֔וֹא וְקָד֥וֹשׁ מֵֽהַר־ פָּארָ֖ן סֶ֑לָה כִּסָּ֤ה שָׁמַ֙יִם֙ הוֹד֔וֹ וּתְהִלָּת֖וֹ מָלְאָ֥ה הָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ⁴ And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power.

S21 ⁴ C'est comme l'éclat de la lumière:
des rayons partent de sa main;
là réside sa force.

VULC ⁴ Splendor ejus ut lux erit,
cornua in manibus ejus :
ibi abscondita est fortitudo ejus.

WLC ⁴ וְנֹ֙גַהּ֙ כָּא֣וֹר תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה קַרְנַ֥יִם מִיָּד֖וֹ ל֑וֹ וְשָׁ֖ם חֶבְי֥וֹן עֻזֹּֽה׃

KJV ⁵ Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet.

S21 ⁵ Devant lui avance la peste,
et la fièvre marche sur ses traces.

VULC ⁵ Ante faciem ejus ibit mors,
et egredietur diabolus ante pedes ejus.

WLC ⁵ לְפָנָ֖יו יֵ֣לֶךְ דָּ֑בֶר וְיֵצֵ֥א רֶ֖שֶׁף לְרַגְלָֽיו׃

KJV ⁶ He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: his ways are everlasting.

S21 ⁶ Il s'arrête, et de l'œil il mesure la terre,
il regarde, et il fait trembler les nations;
les montagnes éternelles se brisent,
les collines anciennes s'abaissent.
A lui les sentiers d'autrefois!

VULC ⁶ Stetit, et mensus est terram ;
aspexit, et dissolvit gentes,
et contriti sunt montes sæculi :
incurvati sunt colles mundi ab itineribus æternitatis ejus.

WLC ⁶ עָמַ֣ד ׀ וַיְמֹ֣דֶד אֶ֗רֶץ רָאָה֙ וַיַּתֵּ֣ר גּוֹיִ֔ם וַיִּתְפֹּֽצְצוּ֙ הַרְרֵי־ עַ֔ד שַׁח֖וּ גִּבְע֣וֹת עוֹלָ֑ם הֲלִיכ֥וֹת עוֹלָ֖ם לֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁷ I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction: and the curtains of the land of Midian did tremble.

S21 ⁷ Je vois les tentes de l'Ethiopie réduites à rien,
et les tentes du pays de Madian sont dans l'épouvante.

VULC ⁷ Pro iniquitate vidi tentoria Æthiopiæ ;
turbabuntur pelles terræ Madian.

WLC ⁷ תַּ֣חַת אָ֔וֶן רָאִ֖יתִי אָהֳלֵ֣י כוּשָׁ֑ן יִרְגְּז֕וּן יְרִיע֖וֹת אֶ֥רֶץ מִדְיָֽן׃

KJV ⁸ Was the LORD displeased against the rivers? was thine anger against the rivers? was thy wrath against the sea, that thou didst ride upon thine horses and thy chariots of salvation?

S21 ⁸ L'Eternel est-il irrité contre les fleuves?
Est-ce contre les fleuves que s'enflamme ta colère,
est-ce contre la mer que se déverse ta fureur,
pour que tu sois monté sur tes chevaux,
sur ton char de victoire?

VULC ⁸ Numquid in fluminibus iratus es, Domine ?
aut in fluminibus furor tuus ?
vel in mari indignatio tua ?
Qui ascendes super equos tuos, et quadrigæ tuæ salvatio.

WLC ⁸ הֲבִנְהָרִים֙ חָרָ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה אִ֤ם בַּנְּהָרִים֙ אַפֶּ֔ךָ אִם־ בַּיָּ֖ם עֶבְרָתֶ֑ךָ כִּ֤י תִרְכַּב֙ עַל־ סוּסֶ֔יךָ מַרְכְּבֹתֶ֖יךָ יְשׁוּעָֽה׃

KJV ⁹ Thy bow was made quite naked, according to the oaths of the tribes, even thy word. Selah. Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.

S21 ⁹ Tu prépares ton arc,
tes serments sont les flèches de ta parole.           – Pause.
Tu fends la terre par des torrents.

VULC ⁹ Suscitans suscitabis arcum tuum,
juramenta tribubus quæ locutus es ;
fluvios scindes terræ.

WLC ⁹ עֶרְיָ֤ה תֵעוֹר֙ קַשְׁתֶּ֔ךָ שְׁבֻע֥וֹת מַטּ֖וֹת אֹ֣מֶר סֶ֑לָה נְהָר֖וֹת תְּבַקַּע־ אָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ¹⁰ The mountains saw thee, and they trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered his voice, and lifted up his hands on high.

S21 ¹⁰ A ton aspect, les montagnes tremblent,
des trombes d'eau s'abattent,
l'abîme fait entendre sa voix,
il lève ses mains en haut.

VULC ¹⁰ Viderunt te, et doluerunt montes ;
gurges aquarum transiit :
dedit abyssus vocem suam ;
altitudo manus suas levavit.

WLC ¹⁰ רָא֤וּךָ יָחִ֙ילוּ֙ הָרִ֔ים זֶ֥רֶם מַ֖יִם עָבָ֑ר נָתַ֤ן תְּהוֹם֙ קוֹל֔וֹ ר֖וֹם יָדֵ֥יהוּ נָשָֽׂא׃

KJV ¹¹ The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy glittering spear.

S21 ¹¹ Le soleil et la lune s'arrêtent dans leur résidence,
à la lumière de tes flèches qui partent,
à la clarté de ta lance qui brille.

VULC ¹¹ Sol et luna steterunt in habitaculo suo :
in luce sagittarum tuarum ibunt,
in splendore fulgurantis hastæ tuæ.

WLC ¹¹ שֶׁ֥מֶשׁ יָרֵ֖חַ עָ֣מַד זְבֻ֑לָה לְא֤וֹר חִצֶּ֙יךָ֙ יְהַלֵּ֔כוּ לְנֹ֖גַהּ בְּרַ֥ק חֲנִיתֶֽךָ׃

KJV ¹² Thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst thresh the heathen in anger.

S21 ¹² Tu parcours la terre dans ta fureur,
tu écrases les nations dans ta colère.

VULC ¹² In fremitu conculcabis terram ;
in furore obstupefacies gentes.

WLC ¹² בְּזַ֖עַם תִּצְעַד־ אָ֑רֶץ בְּאַ֖ף תָּד֥וּשׁ גּוֹיִֽם׃

KJV ¹³ Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for salvation with thine anointed; thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah.

S21 ¹³ Tu sors pour délivrer ton peuple,
pour délivrer celui que tu as consacré par onction.
Tu brises le faîte de la maison du méchant,
tu la détruis de fond en comble.        – Pause.

VULC ¹³ Egressus es in salutem populi tui,
in salutem cum christo tuo :
percussisti caput de domo impii,
denudasti fundamentum ejus usque ad collum.

WLC ¹³ יָצָ֙אתָ֙ לְיֵ֣שַׁע עַמֶּ֔ךָ לְיֵ֖שַׁע אֶת־ מְשִׁיחֶ֑ךָ מָחַ֤צְתָּ רֹּאשׁ֙ מִבֵּ֣ית רָשָׁ֔ע עָר֛וֹת יְס֥וֹד עַד־ צַוָּ֖אר סֶֽלָה׃

KJV ¹⁴ Thou didst strike through with his staves the head of his villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly.

S21 ¹⁴ Tu transperces de leurs propres flèches la tête de ses chefs
qui se précipitaient comme une tempête pour nous disperser.
Ils poussaient des cris de joie,
comme s'ils dévoraient déjà le malheureux dans leur repaire.

VULC ¹⁴ Maledixisti sceptris ejus,
capiti bellatorum ejus,
venientibus ut turbo ad dispergendum me :
exsultatio eorum, sicut ejus qui devorat pauperem in abscondito.

WLC ¹⁴ נָקַ֤בְתָּ בְמַטָּיו֙ רֹ֣אשׁ יִסְעֲר֖וּ לַהֲפִיצֵ֑נִי עֲלִ֣יצֻתָ֔ם כְּמוֹ־ לֶאֱכֹ֥ל עָנִ֖י בַּמִּסְתָּֽר׃

KJV ¹⁵ Thou didst walk through the sea with thine horses, through the heap of great waters.

S21 ¹⁵ Avec tes chevaux tu parcours la mer,
le bouillonnement de grandes eaux.

VULC ¹⁵ Viam fecisti in mari equis tuis,
in luto aquarum multarum.

WLC ¹⁵ דָּרַ֥כְתָּ בַיָּ֖ם סוּסֶ֑יךָ חֹ֖מֶר מַ֥יִם רַבִּֽים׃

KJV ¹⁶ When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.

S21 ¹⁶ J'ai entendu et je suis tout bouleversé.
A cette voix, mes lèvres tremblent,
la pourriture vient dans mes os
et mes jambes tremblent.
Sans bouger j'attends le jour de la détresse,
le jour où notre assaillant marchera contre le peuple.

VULC ¹⁶ Audivi, et conturbatus est venter meus ;
a voce contremuerunt labia mea.
Ingrediatur putredo in ossibus meis,
et subter me scateat :
ut requiescam in die tribulationis,
ut ascendam ad populum accinctum nostrum.

WLC ¹⁶ שָׁמַ֣עְתִּי ׀ וַתִּרְגַּ֣ז בִּטְנִ֗י לְקוֹל֙ צָלֲל֣וּ שְׂפָתַ֔י יָב֥וֹא רָקָ֛ב בַּעֲצָמַ֖י וְתַחְתַּ֣י אֶרְגָּ֑ז אֲשֶׁ֤ר אָנ֙וּחַ֙ לְי֣וֹם צָרָ֔ה לַעֲל֖וֹת לְעַ֥ם יְגוּדֶֽנּוּ׃

KJV ¹⁷ Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

S21 ¹⁷ En effet, le figuier ne fleurira pas,
la vigne ne produira rien,
le fruit de l'olivier manquera,
les champs ne donneront pas de nourriture;
les brebis disparaîtront du pâturage,
et il n'y aura plus de bœufs dans les étables.

VULC ¹⁷ Ficus enim non florebit,
et non erit germen in vineis ;
mentietur opus olivæ,
et arva non afferent cibum :
abscindetur de ovili pecus,
et non erit armentum in præsepibus.

WLC ¹⁷ כִּֽי־ תְאֵנָ֣ה לֹֽא־ תִפְרָ֗ח וְאֵ֤ין יְבוּל֙ בַּגְּפָנִ֔ים כִּחֵשׁ֙ מַעֲשֵׂה־ זַ֔יִת וּשְׁדֵמ֖וֹת לֹא־ עָ֣שָׂה אֹ֑כֶל גָּזַ֤ר מִמִּכְלָה֙ צֹ֔אן וְאֵ֥ין בָּקָ֖ר בָּרְפָתִֽים׃

KJV ¹⁸ Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

S21 ¹⁸ Mais moi, je veux me réjouir en l'Eternel,
je veux être dans l'allégresse à cause du Dieu de mon salut.

VULC ¹⁸ Ego autem in Domino gaudebo ;
et exsultabo in Deo Jesu meo.

WLC ¹⁸ וַאֲנִ֖י בַּיהוָ֣ה אֶעְל֑וֹזָה אָגִ֖ילָה בֵּאלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׁעִֽי׃

KJV ¹⁹ The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

S21 ¹⁹ L'Eternel, le Seigneur, est ma force:
il rend mes pieds semblables à ceux des biches
et il me fait marcher sur mes hauteurs.
