Jc 1:21-25 (King James)

²¹ Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. ²² But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. ²³ For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: ²⁴ For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. ²⁵ But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

²¹ C'est pourquoi rejetant toute souillure, et toute superfluité de malice, recevez avec douceur la parole plantée en vous, laquelle peut sauver vos âmes ; ²² Et mettez en exécution la parole, et ne l'écoutez pas seulement, en vous décevant vous-mêmes par de vains discours. ²³ Car si quelqu'un écoute la parole, et ne la met point en exécution, il est semblable à un homme qui considère dans un miroir sa face naturelle ; ²⁴ Car après s'être considéré soi-même, et s'en être allé, il a aussitôt oublié quel il était. ²⁵ Mais celui qui aura regardé au-dedans de la Loi parfaite, qui [est la Loi] de la liberté ; et qui aura persévéré, n'étant point un auditeur oublieux, mais s'appliquant à l'oeuvre [qui lui est prescrite], celui-là sera heureux dans ce qu’il aura fait.
