KJV ¹ There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

KJV ² The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

NEG ² qui vint, lui, auprès de Jésus, de nuit, et lui dit: Rabbi, nous savons que tu es un docteur venu de Dieu; car personne ne peut faire ces miracles que tu fais, si Dieu n'est avec lui.

KJV ³ Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

NEG ³ Jésus lui répondit: En vérité, en vérité, je te le dis, si un homme ne naît de nouveau, il ne peut voir le royaume de Dieu.

KJV ⁴ Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

NEG ⁴ Nicodème lui dit: Comment un homme peut-il naître quand il est vieux? Peut-il rentrer dans le sein de sa mère et naître?

KJV ⁵ Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

NEG ⁵ Jésus répondit: En vérité, en vérité, je te le dis, si un homme ne naît d'eau et d'Esprit, il ne peut entrer dans le royaume de Dieu.

KJV ⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

NEG ⁶ Ce qui est né de la chair est chair, et ce qui est né de l'Esprit est esprit.

KJV ⁷ Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

NEG ⁷ Ne t'étonne pas que je t'aie dit: Il faut que vous naissiez de nouveau.

KJV ⁸ The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

NEG ⁸ Le vent souffle où il veut, et tu en entends le bruit; mais tu ne sais d'où il vient, ni où il va. Il en est ainsi de tout homme qui est né de l'Esprit.

KJV ⁹ Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

NEG ⁹ Nicodème lui dit: Comment cela peut-il se faire?

KJV ¹⁰ Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

NEG ¹⁰ Jésus lui répondit: Tu es le docteur d'Israël, et tu ne sais pas ces choses!

KJV ¹¹ Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

NEG ¹¹ En vérité, en vérité, je te le dis, nous disons ce que nous savons, et nous rendons témoignage de ce que nous avons vu; et vous ne recevez pas notre témoignage.

KJV ¹² If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

NEG ¹² Si vous ne croyez pas quand je vous ai parlé des choses terrestres, comment croirez-vous quand je vous parlerai des choses célestes?

KJV ¹³ And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

NEG ¹³ Personne n'est monté au ciel, si ce n'est celui qui est descendu du ciel, le Fils de l'homme [qui est dans le ciel].

KJV ¹⁴ And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

KJV ¹⁵ That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

NEG ¹⁵ afin que quiconque croit en lui ait la vie éternelle.

KJV ¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

NEG ¹⁶ Car Dieu a tant aimé le monde qu'il a donné son Fils unique, afin que quiconque croit en lui ne périsse point, mais qu'il ait la vie éternelle.

KJV ¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

NEG ¹⁷ Dieu, en effet, n'a pas envoyé son Fils dans le monde pour qu'il juge le monde, mais pour que le monde soit sauvé par lui.

KJV ¹⁸ He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

NEG ¹⁸ Celui qui croit en lui n'est point jugé; mais celui qui ne croit pas est déjà jugé, parce qu'il n'a pas cru au nom du Fils unique de Dieu.

KJV ¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

NEG ¹⁹ Et ce jugement c'est que, la lumière étant venue dans le monde, les hommes ont préféré les ténèbres à la lumière, parce que leurs œuvres étaient mauvaises.

KJV ²⁰ For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

NEG ²⁰ Car quiconque fait le mal hait la lumière, et ne vient point à la lumière, de peur que ses œuvres ne soient dévoilées;

KJV ²¹ But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

NEG ²¹ mais celui qui agit selon la vérité vient à la lumière, afin que ses œuvres soient manifestées, parce qu'elles sont faites en Dieu.

KJV ²² After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

NEG ²² Après cela, Jésus, accompagné de ses disciples, se rendit dans la terre de Judée; et là il demeurait avec eux, et il baptisait.

KJV ²³ And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

KJV ²⁴ For John was not yet cast into prison.

KJV ²⁵ Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

NEG ²⁵ Or, il s'éleva de la part des disciples de Jean une dispute avec un Juif touchant la purification.

KJV ²⁶ And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

NEG ²⁶ Ils vinrent trouver Jean, et lui dirent: Rabbi, celui qui était avec toi au-delà du Jourdain, et à qui tu as rendu témoignage, voici, il baptise, et tous vont à lui.

KJV ²⁷ John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

NEG ²⁷ Jean répondit: Un homme ne peut recevoir que ce qui lui a été donné du ciel.

KJV ²⁸ Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

NEG ²⁸ Vous-mêmes m'êtes témoins que j'ai dit: Je ne suis pas le Christ, mais j'ai été envoyé devant lui.

KJV ²⁹ He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

NEG ²⁹ Celui à qui appartient l'épouse, c'est l'époux; mais l'ami de l'époux, qui se tient là et qui l'entend, éprouve une grande joie à cause de la voix de l'époux: aussi cette joie, qui est la mienne, est parfaite.

KJV ³⁰ He must increase, but I must decrease.

NEG ³⁰ Il faut qu'il croisse, et que je diminue.

KJV ³¹ He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

NEG ³¹ Celui qui vient d'en haut est au-dessus de tous; celui qui est de la terre est de la terre, et il parle comme étant de la terre. Celui qui vient du ciel est au-dessus de tous,

KJV ³² And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

NEG ³² il rend témoignage de ce qu'il a vu et entendu, et personne ne reçoit son témoignage.

KJV ³³ He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

NEG ³³ Celui qui a reçu son témoignage a certifié que Dieu est vrai;

KJV ³⁴ For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

NEG ³⁴ car celui que Dieu a envoyé dit les paroles de Dieu, parce que Dieu ne lui donne pas l'Esprit avec mesure.

KJV ³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

NEG ³⁵ Le Père aime le Fils, et il a remis toutes choses entre ses mains.

KJV ³⁶ He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

NEG ³⁶ Celui qui croit au Fils a la vie éternelle; celui qui ne croit pas au Fils ne verra point la vie, mais la colère de Dieu demeure sur lui.
