BAN ¹ Après ces choses, Jésus s'en alla au delà de la mer de Galilée, ou de Tibériade.

KJV ¹ After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.

BAN ² Et une grande foule le suivait, parce qu'ils voyaient les miracles qu'il opérait sur les malades.

KJV ² And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.

BAN ³ Mais Jésus monta sur la montagne, et là, il était assis avec ses disciples.

KJV ³ And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.

BAN ⁴ Or, la Pâque, la fête des Juifs, était proche.

KJV ⁴ And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.

BAN ⁵ Jésus ayant donc levé les yeux, et ayant vu qu'une grande foule venait à lui, dit à Philippe : Où achèterons-nous des pains, afin que ceux-ci aient à manger ?

KJV ⁵ When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

BAN ⁶ Or, il disait cela pour l'éprouver, car il savait, lui, ce qu'il allait faire.

KJV ⁶ And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

BAN ⁷ Philippe lui répondit : Deux cents deniers de pain ne leur suffisent pas pour que chacun en reçoive quelque peu.

KJV ⁷ Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

BAN ⁸ Un de ses disciples, André, frère de Simon-Pierre, lui dit :

KJV ⁸ One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,

BAN ⁹ Il y a ici un jeune garçon qui a cinq pains d'orge et deux poissons ; mais qu'est-ce que cela pour tant de gens ?

KJV ⁹ There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

BAN ¹⁰ Jésus dit : Faites asseoir les gens. Or il y avait beaucoup d'herbe dans ce lieu. Les hommes s'assirent donc, au nombre d'environ cinq mille.

KJV ¹⁰ And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

BAN ¹¹ Jésus prit donc les pains, et ayant rendu grâces, il les distribua à ceux qui étaient assis ; de même aussi des poissons, autant qu'ils en voulurent.

KJV ¹¹ And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

BAN ¹² Et quand ils furent rassasiés, il dit à ses disciples : Ramassez les morceaux qui sont restés, afin que rien ne se perde.

KJV ¹² When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

BAN ¹³ Ils les ramassèrent donc, et ils remplirent douze paniers des morceaux provenant des cinq pains d'orge qui étaient restés à ceux qui avaient mangé.

KJV ¹³ Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

BAN ¹⁴ Les gens donc ayant vu le miracle que Jésus avait fait, disaient : Celui-ci est véritablement le prophète qui vient dans le monde.

KJV ¹⁴ Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

BAN ¹⁵ Jésus donc ayant connu qu'ils allaient venir l'enlever, afin de le faire roi, se retira de nouveau sur la montagne, lui seul.

KJV ¹⁵ When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

BAN ¹⁶ Or, quand le soir fut venu, ses disciples descendirent à la mer ;

KJV ¹⁶ And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,

BAN ¹⁷ et étant entrés dans une barque, ils passaient la mer pour aller à Capernaüm ; et il faisait déjà obscur, et Jésus ne les avait pas encore rejoints,

KJV ¹⁷ And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.

BAN ¹⁸ et la mer était agitée, comme il soufflait un grand vent.

KJV ¹⁸ And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.

BAN ¹⁹ Quand donc ils eurent ramé environ vingt-cinq ou trente stades, ils voient Jésus marchant sur la mer et s'approchant de la barque ; et ils eurent peur.

KJV ¹⁹ So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.

BAN ²⁰ Mais il leur dit : C'est moi, n'ayez pas peur.

KJV ²⁰ But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.

BAN ²¹ Ils voulaient donc le recevoir dans la barque, et aussitôt la barque se trouva au rivage où ils allaient.

KJV ²¹ Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.

BAN ²² Le lendemain, la foule qui se tenait de l'autre côté de la mer vit qu'il n'y avait eu là d'autre barque qu'une seule, et que Jésus n'était point entré avec ses disciples dans cette barque, mais que ses disciples s'en étaient allés seuls.

KJV ²² The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;

BAN ²³ Mais des barques étaient venues de Tibériade, près du lieu où ils avaient mangé le pain, après que le Seigneur eut rendu grâces.

KJV ²³ (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)

BAN ²⁴ Lors donc que la foule vit que Jésus n'était point là, non plus que ses disciples, ils entrèrent eux-mêmes dans les barques, et allèrent à Capernaüm, cherchant Jésus.

KJV ²⁴ When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.

BAN ²⁵ Et l'ayant trouvé de l'autre côté de la mer, ils lui dirent : Rabbi, quand es-tu arrivé ici ?

KJV ²⁵ And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

BAN ²⁶ Jésus leur répondit et dit : En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis : Vous me cherchez, non parce que vous avez vu des miracles, mais parce que vous avez mangé de ces pains et que vous avez été rassasiés.

KJV ²⁶ Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

BAN ²⁷ Travaillez, non pour la nourriture qui périt, mais pour celle qui subsiste en vie éternelle, et que le Fils de l'homme vous donnera ; car c'est lui que le Père, Dieu, a marqué de son sceau.

KJV ²⁷ Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

BAN ²⁸ Ils lui dirent donc : Que devons-nous faire, pour accomplir les oeuvres de Dieu ?

KJV ²⁸ Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

BAN ²⁹ Jésus répondit et leur dit : C'est ici l'oeuvre de Dieu, que vous croyiez en Celui qu'il a envoyé.

KJV ²⁹ Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

BAN ³⁰ Ils lui dirent donc : Quel signe fais-tu donc, toi, afin que nous voyions et que nous te croyions ? Quelle oeuvre fais-tu ?

KJV ³⁰ They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

BAN ³¹ Nos pères ont mangé la manne dans le désert, selon qu'il est écrit : Il leur a donné à manger le pain du ciel.

KJV ³¹ Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

BAN ³² Jésus leur dit donc : En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis : Ce n'est pas Moïse qui vous a donné le pain venu du ciel ; mais c'est mon Père qui vous donne le vrai pain venu du ciel ;

KJV ³² Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

BAN ³³ car le pain de Dieu est celui qui descend du ciel, et qui donne la vie au monde.

KJV ³³ For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

BAN ³⁴ Ils lui dirent donc : Seigneur, donne-nous toujours ce pain-là.

KJV ³⁴ Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

BAN ³⁵ Jésus leur dit : C'est moi qui suis le pain de la vie : celui qui vient à moi n'aura jamais faim, et celui qui croit en moi n'aura jamais soif.

KJV ³⁵ And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

BAN ³⁶ Mais je vous l'ai dit, vous m'avez vu, et vous ne croyez point.

KJV ³⁶ But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

BAN ³⁷ Tout ce que le Père me donne, viendra à moi, et celui qui vient à moi, je ne le mettrai point dehors.

KJV ³⁷ All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

BAN ³⁸ Car je suis descendu du ciel pour faire, non ma volonté, mais la volonté de Celui qui m'a envoyé.

KJV ³⁸ For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

BAN ³⁹ Or c'est ici la volonté de Celui qui m'a envoyé, que je ne perde rien de tout ce qu'il m'a donné ; mais que je le ressuscite au dernier jour.

KJV ³⁹ And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

BAN ⁴⁰ Car c'est ici la volonté de mon Père, que quiconque contemple le Fils et croit en lui, ait la vie éternelle ; et moi je le ressusciterai au dernier jour.

KJV ⁴⁰ And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

BAN ⁴¹ Les Juifs murmuraient donc à son sujet, parce qu'il avait dit : Je suis le pain qui est descendu du ciel.

KJV ⁴¹ The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

BAN ⁴² Et ils disaient : N'est-ce pas là Jésus, le fils de Joseph, celui dont nous connaissons le père et la mère ? Comment donc dit-il : Je suis descendu du ciel ?

KJV ⁴² And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

BAN ⁴³ Jésus répondit et leur dit : Ne murmurez point entre vous.

KJV ⁴³ Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

BAN ⁴⁴ Personne ne peut venir à moi, si le Père qui m'a envoyé ne l'attire ; et moi, je le ressusciterai au dernier jour.

KJV ⁴⁴ No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

BAN ⁴⁵ Il est écrit dans les prophètes : Ils seront tous enseignés de Dieu. Quiconque a entendu le Père et a été instruit par lui, vient à moi.

KJV ⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

BAN ⁴⁶ Non que personne ait vu le Père, si ce n'est Celui qui vient de Dieu ; lui a vu le Père.

KJV ⁴⁶ Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

BAN ⁴⁷ En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis : Celui qui croit en moi a la vie éternelle.

KJV ⁴⁷ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

BAN ⁴⁸ C'est moi qui suis le pain de la vie.

KJV ⁴⁸ I am that bread of life.

BAN ⁴⁹ Vos pères ont mangé la manne dans le désert, et ils sont morts.

KJV ⁴⁹ Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

BAN ⁵⁰ C'est ici le pain qui descend du ciel, afin que celui qui en mange ne meure point.

KJV ⁵⁰ This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

BAN ⁵¹ Moi je suis le pain vivant, qui est descendu du ciel ; si quelqu'un mange de ce pain, il vivra éternellement ; et aussi le pain que je donnerai c'est ma chair, que je donnerai pour la vie du monde.

KJV ⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

BAN ⁵² Les Juifs disputaient donc entre eux, disant : Comment celui-ci peut-il nous donner sa chair à manger ?

KJV ⁵² The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

BAN ⁵³ Jésus leur dit donc : En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis : Si vous ne mangez la chair du Fils de l'homme, et si vous ne buvez son sang, vous n'avez point la vie en vous-mêmes.

KJV ⁵³ Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

BAN ⁵⁴ Celui qui mange ma chair et qui boit mon sang, a la vie éternelle, et moi je le ressusciterai au dernier jour.

KJV ⁵⁴ Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

BAN ⁵⁵ Car ma chair est une vraie nourriture, et mon sang est un vrai breuvage.

KJV ⁵⁵ For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

BAN ⁵⁶ Celui qui mange ma chair et qui boit mon sang, demeure en moi, et moi en lui.

KJV ⁵⁶ He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

BAN ⁵⁷ Comme le Père qui est vivant m'a envoyé, et que moi je vis par le Père, ainsi celui qui me mange, vivra lui aussi par moi.

KJV ⁵⁷ As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

BAN ⁵⁸ C'est ici le pain qui est descendu du ciel. Il n'en est pas comme de vos pères qui ont mangé la manne, et qui sont morts : celui qui mange ce pain vivra éternellement.

KJV ⁵⁸ This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

BAN ⁵⁹ Il dit ces choses, enseignant dans la synagogue, à Capernaüm.

KJV ⁵⁹ These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

BAN ⁶⁰ Plusieurs donc de ses disciples, l'ayant entendu, dirent : Cette parole est dure ; qui peut l'écouter ?

KJV ⁶⁰ Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

BAN ⁶¹ Mais Jésus connaissant en lui- même que ses disciples murmuraient à ce sujet, leur dit : Ceci vous scandalise ?

KJV ⁶¹ When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

BAN ⁶² Et si vous voyez le Fils de l'homme monter où il était auparavant ?

KJV ⁶² What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

BAN ⁶³ C'est l'Esprit qui vivifie ; la chair ne sert de rien : les paroles que je vous ai dites sont Esprit et vie.

KJV ⁶³ It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

BAN ⁶⁴ Mais il y en a quelques-uns d'entre vous qui ne croient point. Car Jésus savait dès le commencement qui étaient ceux qui ne croyaient pas, et qui était celui qui le livrerait.

KJV ⁶⁴ But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

BAN ⁶⁵ Et il disait : C'est à cause de cela que je vous ai dit que personne ne peut venir à moi, à moins que cela ne lui soit donné par le Père.

KJV ⁶⁵ And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

BAN ⁶⁶ Dès ce moment, plusieurs de ses disciples se retirèrent, et ils ne marchaient plus avec lui.

KJV ⁶⁶ From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

BAN ⁶⁷ Jésus dit donc aux douze : Voulez-vous, tous aussi, vous en aller ?

KJV ⁶⁷ Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

BAN ⁶⁸ Simon Pierre lui répondit : Seigneur, à qui irons-nous ? Tu as des paroles de vie éternelle ;

KJV ⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

BAN ⁶⁹ et nous, nous avons cru et nous avons connu que tu es le Saint de Dieu.

KJV ⁶⁹ And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

BAN ⁷⁰ Jésus leur répondit : N'est-ce pas moi qui vous ai choisis, vous les douze ? Et l'un de vous est un démon !

KJV ⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

BAN ⁷¹ Or il parlait de Judas Iscariot, fils de Simon ; car c'était lui qui devait le livrer, lui, l'un des douze.

KJV ⁷¹ He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
