BCC ² Écoutez les paroles de cette alliance, et parlez aux hommes de Juda et aux habitants de Jérusalem.

KJV ² Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

VULC ² [Audite verba pacti hujus,
et loquimini ad viros Juda,
et ad habitatores Jerusalem,

WLC ² שִׁמְע֕וּ אֶת־ דִּבְרֵ֖י הַבְּרִ֣ית הַזֹּ֑את וְדִבַּרְתָּם֙ אֶל־ אִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה וְעַל־ יֹשְׁבֵ֖י יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

BCC ³ Tu leur diras : ainsi parle Jéhovah, Dieu d'Israël : maudit soit l'homme qui n'écoute pas les commandements

BCC ⁴ De cette alliance, que j'ai donnés à vos pères, au jour où je les ai fait sortir d'Égypte, de la fournaise à fer, en leur disant : écoutez ma voix et faites tout ce que je vous commanderai, et vous serez mon peuple et je serai votre Dieu,

KJV ⁴ Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:

BCC ⁵ Afin que j'accomplisse le serment que j'ai fait à vos pères de leur donner un pays où coulent le lait et le miel, comme cela se voit aujourd'hui. Et je répondis : Amen, Jéhovah !

KJV ⁵ That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O LORD.

VULC ⁵ ut suscitem juramentum quod juravi patribus vestris,

WLC ⁵ לְמַעַן֩ הָקִ֨ים אֶת־ הַשְּׁבוּעָ֜ה אֲשֶׁר־ נִשְׁבַּ֣עְתִּי לַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם לָתֵ֤ת לָהֶם֙ אֶ֣רֶץ זָבַ֥ת חָלָ֛ב וּדְבַ֖שׁ כַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וָאַ֥עַן וָאֹמַ֖ר אָמֵ֥ן ׀ יְהוָֽה׃

BCC ⁶ Et Jéhovah me dit : crie toutes ces paroles dans les villes de Juda et dans les rues de Jérusalem, en disant : écoutez les paroles de cette alliance et mettez-les en pratique.

KJV ⁶ Then the LORD said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.

WLC ⁶ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֵלַ֔י קְרָ֨א אֶת־ כָּל־ הַדְּבָרִ֤ים הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ בְּעָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וּבְחֻצ֥וֹת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר שִׁמְע֗וּ אֶת־ דִּבְרֵי֙ הַבְּרִ֣ית הַזֹּ֔את וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם אוֹתָֽם׃

BCC ⁷ Car j'ai fortement averti vos pères depuis le jour où je les ai fait monter du pays d'Égypte jusqu'à ce jour, Je les ai sans cesse avertis, en disant : écoutez ma voix.

KJV ⁷ For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.

VULC ⁷ quia contestans contestatus sum patres vestros,

mane consurgens contestatus sum,

WLC ⁷ כִּי֩ הָעֵ֨ד הַעִדֹ֜תִי בַּאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם בְּיוֹם֩ הַעֲלוֹתִ֨י אוֹתָ֜ם מֵאֶ֤רֶץ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ וְעַד־ הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה הַשְׁכֵּ֥ם וְהָעֵ֖ד לֵאמֹ֑ר שִׁמְע֖וּ בְּקוֹלִֽי׃

BCC ⁸ Et ils n'ont ni écouté ni prêté l'oreille ; chacun d'eux a marché selon l'opiniâtreté de son mauvais coeur, et j'ai exécuté sur eux toutes les paroles de cette alliance, que je leur ai commandé d'observer et qu'ils n'ont pas observée.

KJV ⁸ Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do: but they did them not.

sed abierunt, unusquisque in pravitate cordis sui mali :

BCC ⁹ Jéhovah me dit : il s'est fait une conjuration chez les hommes de Juda et chez les habitants de Jérusalem.

KJV ⁹ And the LORD said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

VULC ⁹ Et dixit Dominus ad me : [Inventa est conjuratio in viris Juda et in habitatoribus Jerusalem.

WLC ⁹ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלָ֑י נִֽמְצָא־ קֶ֙שֶׁר֙ בְּאִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה וּבְיֹשְׁבֵ֖י יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

BCC ¹⁰ Ils sont retournés aux iniquités de leurs pères qui ont refusé d'écouter mes paroles, et ils sont allés après d'autres dieux pour les servir ; la maison d'Israël et la maison de Juda ont violé mon alliance que j'avais conclue avec leurs pères.

KJV ¹⁰ They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

VULC ¹⁰ Reversi sunt ad iniquitates patrum suorum priores,
qui noluerunt audire verba mea :
et hi ergo abierunt post deos alienos, ut servirent eis :
irritum fecerunt domus Israël et domus Juda pactum meum
quod pepigi cum patribus eorum.

WLC ¹⁰ שָׁ֩בוּ֩ עַל־ עֲוֺנֹ֨ת אֲבוֹתָ֜ם הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר מֵֽאֲנוּ֙ לִשְׁמ֣וֹעַ אֶת־ דְּבָרַ֔י וְהֵ֣מָּה הָלְכ֗וּ אַחֲרֵ֛י אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִ֖ים לְעָבְדָ֑ם הֵפֵ֤רוּ בֵֽית־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וּבֵ֣ית יְהוּדָ֔ה אֶת־ בְּרִיתִ֕י אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּרַ֖תִּי אֶת־ אֲבוֹתָֽם׃

BCC ¹¹ C'est pourquoi ainsi parle Jéhovah : Je vais amener sur eux des malheurs dont ils ne pourront sortir ; s'ils crient vers moi, je ne les écouterai pas.

KJV ¹¹ Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.

VULC ¹¹ Quam ob rem hæc dicit Dominus :
Ecce ego inducam super eos mala
de quibus exire non poterunt :
et clamabunt ad me, et non exaudiam eos.

WLC ¹¹ לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנְנִ֨י מֵבִ֤יא אֲלֵיהֶם֙ רָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־ יוּכְל֖וּ לָצֵ֣את מִמֶּ֑נָּה וְזָעֲק֣וּ אֵלַ֔י וְלֹ֥א אֶשְׁמַ֖ע אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃

BCC ¹² Les villes de Juda et les habitants de Jérusalem iront invoquer les dieux auxquels ils offrent de l'encens, mais ces dieux ne les sauveront pas au temps de leur malheur.

KJV ¹² Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.

VULC ¹² Et ibunt civitates Juda et habitatores Jerusalem,
et clamabunt ad deos quibus libant,
et non salvabunt eos in tempore afflictionis eorum.

WLC ¹² וְהָֽלְכ֞וּ עָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה וְיֹשְׁבֵי֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם וְזָֽעֲקוּ֙ אֶל־ הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֛ר הֵ֥ם מְקַטְּרִ֖ים לָהֶ֑ם וְהוֹשֵׁ֛עַ לֹֽא־ יוֹשִׁ֥יעוּ לָהֶ֖ם בְּעֵ֥ת רָעָתָֽם׃

BCC ¹³ Car autant tu as de villes, autant tu as de dieux, Juda, et autant il y a de rues à Jérusalem, autant vous avez dressé d'autels à une infâme idole, d'autels pour offrir de l'encens à Baal.

KJV ¹³ For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.

VULC ¹³ Secundum numerum enim civitatum tuarum
erant dii tui, Juda :
et secundum numerum viarum Jerusalem,
posuisti aras confusionis,
aras ad libandum Baalim.

WLC ¹³ כִּ֚י מִסְפַּ֣ר עָרֶ֔יךָ הָי֥וּ אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ יְהוּדָ֑ה וּמִסְפַּ֞ר חֻצ֣וֹת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם שַׂמְתֶּ֤ם מִזְבְּחוֹת֙ לַבֹּ֔שֶׁת מִזְבְּח֖וֹת לְקַטֵּ֥ר לַבָּֽעַל׃

BCC ¹⁴ Et toi, n'intercède pas pour ce peuple, et n'élève point en sa faveur de supplication ni de prière ; car je ne les écouterai point. Lorsqu'ils m'invoqueront au temps de leur malheur.

KJV ¹⁴ Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.

et ne assumas pro eis laudem et orationem,
quia non exaudiam in tempore clamoris eorum ad me,
in tempore afflictionis eorum.

WLC ¹⁴ וְאַתָּ֗ה אַל־ תִּתְפַּלֵּל֙ בְּעַד־ הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה וְאַל־ תִּשָּׂ֥א בַעֲדָ֖ם רִנָּ֣ה וּתְפִלָּ֑ה כִּ֣י אֵינֶ֣נִּי שֹׁמֵ֗עַ בְּעֵ֛ת קָרְאָ֥ם אֵלַ֖י בְּעַ֥ד רָעָתָֽם׃

BCC ¹⁵ Qu'est-ce que ma bien-aimée a à faire dans ma maison ? Des fourberies ? Est-ce que les voeux et la chair sacrée Enlèveront de dessus toi tes malheurs, que tu puisses te livrer à l'allégresse ?

KJV ¹⁵ What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

VULC ¹⁵ Quid est, quod dilectus meus in domo mea fecit scelera multa ?
numquid carnes sanctæ auferent a te malitias tuas,
in quibus gloriata es ?

WLC ¹⁵ מֶ֣ה לִֽידִידִ֞י בְּבֵיתִ֗י עֲשׂוֹתָ֤הּ הַֽמְזִמָּ֙תָה֙ הָֽרַבִּ֔ים וּבְשַׂר־ קֹ֖דֶשׁ יַעַבְר֣וּ מֵֽעָלָ֑יִךְ כִּ֥י רָעָתֵ֖כִי אָ֥ז תַּעֲלֹֽזִי׃

BCC ¹⁶ Olivier verdoyant, orné de beaux fruits : c'est le nom que t'avait donné Jéhovah. Au bruit d'un grand fracas, il y met le feu, et ses rameaux sont brisés.

KJV ¹⁶ The LORD called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.

VULC ¹⁶ Olivam uberem, pulchram, fructiferam, speciosam,
vocavit Dominus nomen tuum :
ad vocem loquelæ, grandis exarsit ignis in ea,
et combusta sunt fruteta ejus.

WLC ¹⁶ זַ֤יִת רַֽעֲנָן֙ יְפֵ֣ה פְרִי־ תֹ֔אַר קָרָ֥א יְהוָ֖ה שְׁמֵ֑ךְ לְק֣וֹל ׀ הֲמוּלָּ֣ה גְדֹלָ֗ה הִצִּ֥ית אֵשׁ֙ עָלֶ֔יהָ וְרָע֖וּ דָּלִיּוֹתָֽיו׃

BCC ¹⁷ Jéhovah des armées, qui t'avait planté, a décrété le malheur contre toi, à cause du mal qu'ont fait la maison d'Israël et la maison de Juda, pour provoquer ma colère, en offrant de l'encens à Baal.

KJV ¹⁷ For the LORD of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal.

BCC ¹⁸ Jéhovah m'en a informé, et je l'ai su ; alors vous m'avez fait connaître leurs oeuvres !

KJV ¹⁸ And the LORD hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then thou shewedst me their doings.

VULC ¹⁸ [Tu autem, Domine, demonstrasti mihi, et cognovi :
tunc ostendisti mihi studia eorum.

WLC ¹⁸ וַֽיהוָ֥ה הֽוֹדִיעַ֖נִי וָֽאֵדָ֑עָה אָ֖ז הִרְאִיתַ֥נִי מַעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃

BCC ¹⁹ Moi, j'étais comme un agneau familier qu'on mène à la boucherie, et je ne savais qu'ils formaient des desseins contre moi. "Détruisons l'arbre avec son fruit ! Retranchons-le de la terre des vivants, et qu'on ne se souvienne plus de son nom !"

KJV ¹⁹ But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

VULC ¹⁹ Et ego quasi agnus mansuetus,
qui portatur ad victimam :
et non cognovi quia cogitaverunt super me consilia, dicentes :
Mittamus lignum in panem ejus,
et eradamus eum de terra viventium,
et nomen ejus non memoretur amplius.

WLC ¹⁹ וַאֲנִ֕י כְּכֶ֥בֶשׂ אַלּ֖וּף יוּבַ֣ל לִטְב֑וֹחַ וְלֹֽא־ יָדַ֜עְתִּי כִּֽי־ עָלַ֣י ׀ חָשְׁב֣וּ מַחֲשָׁב֗וֹת נַשְׁחִ֨יתָה עֵ֤ץ בְּלַחְמוֹ֙ וְנִכְרְתֶ֙נּוּ֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ חַיִּ֔ים וּשְׁמ֖וֹ לֹֽא־ יִזָּכֵ֥ר עֽוֹד׃

BCC ²⁰ Mais Jéhovah des armées juge avec justice ; Il sonde les reins et les coeurs ; Je verrai la vengeance que vous tirerez d'eux, car c'est à vous que j'ai confié ma cause.

KJV ²⁰ But, O LORD of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

VULC ²⁰ Tu autem, Domine Sabaoth, qui judicas juste,
et probas renes et corda,
videam ultionem tuam ex eis :
tibi enim revelavi causam meam.

WLC ²⁰ וַֽיהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ שֹׁפֵ֣ט צֶ֔דֶק בֹּחֵ֥ן כְּלָי֖וֹת וָלֵ֑ב אֶרְאֶ֤ה נִקְמָֽתְךָ֙ מֵהֶ֔ם כִּ֥י אֵלֶ֖יךָ גִּלִּ֥יתִי אֶת־ רִיבִֽי׃

BCC ²¹ C'est pourquoi ainsi parle Jéhovah au sujet des hommes d'Anathoth qui en veulent à ta vie et qui disent : "ne prophétise pas au nom de Jéhovah, si tu ne veux mourir de notre main !"

KJV ²¹ Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand:

VULC ²¹ Propterea hæc dicit Dominus ad viros Anathoth,
qui quærunt animam tuam, et dicunt :
Non prophetabis in nomine Domini,
et non morieris in manibus nostris :

WLC ²¹ לָכֵ֗ן כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ עַל־ אַנְשֵׁ֣י עֲנָת֔וֹת הַֽמְבַקְשִׁ֥ים אֶֽת־ נַפְשְׁךָ֖ לֵאמֹ֑ר לֹ֤א תִנָּבֵא֙ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֔ה וְלֹ֥א תָמ֖וּת בְּיָדֵֽנוּ׃

BCC ²² C'est pourquoi ainsi parle Jéhovah des armées : Je vais les punir ; les jeunes hommes mourront par l'épée ; leurs fils et leurs filles mourront de faim ;

KJV ²² Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine:

VULC ²² propterea hæc dicit Dominus exercituum :
Ecce ego visitabo super eos :
juvenes morientur in gladio ;
filii eorum et filiæ eorum morientur in fame.

WLC ²² לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הִנְנִ֥י פֹקֵ֖ד עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם הַבַּֽחוּרִים֙ יָמֻ֣תוּ בַחֶ֔רֶב בְּנֵיהֶם֙ וּבְנ֣וֹתֵיהֶ֔ם יָמֻ֖תוּ בָּרָעָֽב׃

BCC ²³ Rien ne restera d'eux ; car j'amènerai le malheur sur les hommes d'Anathoth, l'année où je les visiterai.

KJV ²³ And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.

VULC ²³ Et reliquiæ non erunt ex eis :
inducam enim malum super viros Anathoth,
annum visitationis eorum.]
