DRB ³ Depuis la treizième année de Josias, fils d'Amon, roi de Juda, jusqu'à ce jour, ces vingt-trois ans, la parole de l'Éternel m'est venue, et je vous ai parlé, me levant de bonne heure et parlant ; et vous n'avez pas écouté.

KJV ³ From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.

VULC ³ A tertiodecimo anno Josiæ filii Amon regis Juda, usque ad diem hanc, iste tertius et vigesimus annus, factum est verbum Domini ad me, et locutus sum ad vos, de nocte consurgens et loquens, et non audistis.

DRB ⁴ Et l'Éternel vous a envoyé tous ses serviteurs les prophètes, se levant de bonne heure et [les] envoyant ; et vous n'avez pas écouté, et vous n'avez point incliné vos oreilles pour écouter,

KJV ⁴ And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

VULC ⁴ Et misit Dominus ad vos omnes servos suos prophetas, consurgens diluculo, mittensque : et non audistis, neque inclinastis aures vestras ut audiretis,

DRB ⁵ lorsqu'ils disaient : Revenez donc chacun de sa mauvaise voie, et de l'iniquité de vos actions, et vous habiterez sur la terre que l'Éternel vous a donnée, à vous et à vos pères, de siècle en siècle ;

KJV ⁵ They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:

VULC ⁵ cum diceret : Revertimini unusquisque a via sua mala, et a pessimis cogitationibus vestris, et habitabitis in terra quam dedit Dominus vobis et patribus vestris, a sæculo et usque in sæculum :

DRB ⁶ et n'allez point après d'autres dieux pour les servir, et pour vous prosterner devant eux, et ne me provoquez pas par l'œuvre de vos mains ; et je ne vous ferai pas de mal.

KJV ⁶ And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.

VULC ⁶ et nolite ire post deos alienos, ut serviatis eis, adoretisque eos : neque me ad iracundiam provocetis in operibus manuum vestrarum, et non affligam vos.

DRB ⁷ Mais vous ne m'avez pas écouté, dit l'Éternel, pour me provoquer par l'œuvre de vos mains, pour votre propre malheur.

KJV ⁷ Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

DRB ⁹ voici, j'envoie, et je prends toutes les familles du nord, dit l'Éternel, et* Nebucadretsar, roi de Babylone, mon serviteur, et je les ferai venir contre ce pays, et contre ses habitants, et contre toutes ces nations à l'entour : et je les vouerai à la destruction, j'en ferai une désolation, et un objet de sifflement, et des déserts perpétuels ;

KJV ⁹ Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

VULC ⁹ ecce ego mittam et assumam universas cognationes aquilonis, ait Dominus, et Nabuchodonosor regem Babylonis servum meum, et adducam eos super terram istam, et super habitatores ejus, et super omnes nationes quæ in circuitu illius sunt : et interficiam eos, et ponam eos in stuporem et in sibilum, et in solitudines sempiternas.

DRB ¹⁰ et je ferai périr du milieu d'eux la voix de l'allégresse et la voix de la joie, la voix de l'époux et la voix de l'épouse, le bruit des meules et la lumière de la lampe.

KJV ¹⁰ Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.

DRB ¹¹ Et tout ce pays sera un désert, une désolation ; et ces nations serviront le roi de Babylone soixante-dix ans.

KJV ¹¹ And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

VULC ¹¹ Et erit universa terra hæc in solitudinem, et in stuporem : et servient omnes gentes istæ regi Babylonis septuaginta annis.

DRB ¹² Et il arrivera, quand [les] soixante-dix ans seront accomplis, que je visiterai sur le roi de Babylone et sur cette nation-là leur iniquité, dit l'Éternel, et sur le pays des Chaldéens, et je le réduirai en désolations perpétuelles.

KJV ¹² And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

VULC ¹² Cumque impleti fuerint septuaginta anni, visitabo super regem Babylonis et super gentem illam, dicit Dominus, iniquitatem eorum, et super terram Chaldæorum, et ponam illam in solitudines sempiternas.

DRB ¹³ Et je ferai venir sur ce pays toutes mes paroles que j'ai dites contre lui, tout ce qui est écrit dans ce livre, ce que Jérémie a prophétisé contre toutes les nations.

KJV ¹³ And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.

DRB ¹⁵ Car ainsi m'a dit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël : Prends de ma main la coupe du vin de cette fureur, et tu en feras boire à toutes les nations auxquelles je t'envoie ;

KJV ¹⁵ For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.

VULC ¹⁵ Quia sic dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Sume calicem vini furoris hujus de manu mea, et propinabis de illo cunctis gentibus ad quas ego mittam te.

DRB ¹⁶ et elles boiront et elles seront étourdies, et elles seront comme folles, à cause de l'épée que j'enverrai parmi elles.

KJV ¹⁶ And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.

VULC ¹⁶ Et bibent, et turbabuntur et insanient a facie gladii quem ego mittam inter eos.

KJV ²⁹ For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.

KJV ³⁰ Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

DRB ³¹ Le son éclatant en viendra jusqu'au bout de la terre ; car l'Éternel a un débat avec les nations, il entre en jugement avec toute chair. Les méchants, il les livrera à l'épée, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ³¹ A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.

Impios tradidi gladio, dicit Dominus.

KJV ³² Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

KJV ³³ And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

KJV ³⁵ And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.

quia vastavit Dominus pascua eorum :

KJV ³⁷ And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

DRB ³⁸ Il a abandonné son tabernacle comme un jeune lion [son fourré] ; car leur pays sera une désolation devant l'ardeur de l'oppresseur et devant l'ardeur de sa colère.

KJV ³⁸ He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.
