KJV ¹ The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;

KJV ² The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,

KJV ³ From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.

MAR ³ Depuis la treizième année de Josias fils d'Amon Roi de Juda, jusqu’à ce jour, qui est la vingt-troisième année, la parole de l'Eternel m'a été [adressée], et je vous ai parlé, me levant dès le matin, et parlant ; mais vous n'avez point écouté.

KJV ⁴ And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

MAR ⁴ Et l'Eternel vous a envoyé tous ses serviteurs Prophètes, se levant dès le matin, et les envoyant ; mais vous ne les avez point écoutés, et vous n'avez point incliné vos oreilles pour écouter.

WLC ⁴ וְשָׁלַח֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֲלֵיכֶ֜ם אֶֽת־ כָּל־ עֲבָדָ֧יו הַנְּבִאִ֛ים הַשְׁכֵּ֥ם וְשָׁלֹ֖חַ וְלֹ֣א שְׁמַעְתֶּ֑ם וְלֹֽא־ הִטִּיתֶ֥ם אֶֽת־ אָזְנְכֶ֖ם לִשְׁמֹֽעַ׃

KJV ⁵ They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:

MAR ⁵ Lorsqu'ils disaient : détournez-vous maintenant chacun de son mauvais train, et de la malice de vos actions, et vous habiterez d'un siècle à l'autre sur la terre que l'Eternel vous a donnée, à vous et à vos pères.

WLC ⁵ לֵאמֹ֗ר שֽׁוּבוּ־ נָ֞א אִ֣ישׁ מִדַּרְכּ֤וֹ הָֽרָעָה֙ וּמֵרֹ֣עַ מַעַלְלֵיכֶ֔ם וּשְׁבוּ֙ עַל־ הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֧ן יְהוָ֛ה לָכֶ֖ם וְלַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם לְמִן־ עוֹלָ֖ם וְעַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ⁶ And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.

MAR ⁶ Et n'allez point après d'autres dieux, pour les servir, et pour vous prosterner devant eux, et ne m'irritez point par les oeuvres de vos mains ; et je ne vous ferai aucun mal.

WLC ⁶ וְאַל־ תֵּלְכ֗וּ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים לְעָבְדָ֖ם וּלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֣ת לָהֶ֑ם וְלֹֽא־ תַכְעִ֤יסוּ אוֹתִי֙ בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה יְדֵיכֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א אָרַ֖ע לָכֶֽם׃

KJV ⁷ Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

MAR ⁷ Mais vous m'avez désobéi, dit l'Eternel, pour m'irriter par les oeuvres de vos mains, à votre dommage.

KJV ⁸ Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,

MAR ⁸ C'est pourquoi ainsi a dit l'Eternel des armées : parce que vous n'avez point écouté mes paroles,

WLC ⁸ לָכֵ֕ן כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת יַ֕עַן אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־ שְׁמַעְתֶּ֖ם אֶת־ דְּבָרָֽי׃

KJV ⁹ Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

MAR ⁹ Voici, j'enverrai, et j'assemblerai toutes les familles de l'Aquilon, dit l'Eternel, [j'enverrai], dis-je, vers Nébucadnetsar Roi de Babylone mon serviteur ; et je les ferai venir contre ce pays et contre ses habitants, et contre toutes ces nations d'alentour ; je les détruirai à la façon de l'interdit, je les mettrai en désolation, et en opprobre, et en déserts éternels.

WLC ⁹ הִנְנִ֣י שֹׁלֵ֡חַ וְלָקַחְתִּי֩ אֶת־ כָּל־ מִשְׁפְּח֨וֹת צָפ֜וֹן נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֗ה וְאֶל־ נְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֣ר מֶֽלֶךְ־ בָּבֶל֮ עַבְדִּי֒ וַהֲבִ֨אֹתִ֜ים עַל־ הָאָ֤רֶץ הַזֹּאת֙ וְעַל־ יֹ֣שְׁבֶ֔יהָ וְעַ֛ל כָּל־ הַגּוֹיִ֥ם הָאֵ֖לֶּה סָבִ֑יב וְהַ֣חֲרַמְתִּ֔ים וְשַׂמְתִּים֙ לְשַׁמָּ֣ה וְלִשְׁרֵקָ֔ה וּלְחָרְב֖וֹת עוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁰ Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.

MAR ¹⁰ Et je ferai cesser parmi eux la voix de joie, et la voix d'allégresse, la voix de l'époux et la voix de l'épouse, le bruit des meules, et la lumière des lampes.

KJV ¹¹ And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

KJV ¹² And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

KJV ¹³ And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.

KJV ¹⁴ For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.

KJV ¹⁵ For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.

KJV ¹⁶ And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.

KJV ¹⁷ Then took I the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:

KJV ¹⁸ To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;

KJV ²³ Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,

KJV ²⁴ And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,

KJV ²⁵ And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,

KJV ²⁶ And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

KJV ²⁷ Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.

MAR ²⁷ Et tu leur diras : ainsi a dit l'Eternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël : buvez et soyez enivrés, même rendez le vin que vous avez bu et soyez renversés sans vous relever, à cause de l'épée que j'enverrai parmi vous.

KJV ²⁸ And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.

MAR ²⁸ Or il arrivera qu'ils refuseront de prendre la coupe de ta main pour [en] boire ; mais tu leur diras : ainsi a dit l'Eternel des armées : vous en boirez certainement.

WLC ²⁸ וְהָיָ֗ה כִּ֧י יְמָאֲנ֛וּ לָקַֽחַת־ הַכּ֥וֹס מִיָּדְךָ֖ לִשְׁתּ֑וֹת וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֛ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שָׁת֥וֹ תִשְׁתּֽוּ׃

KJV ²⁹ For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.

MAR ²⁹ Car voici, je commence d'envoyer du mal sur la ville sur laquelle mon Nom est réclamé, et vous, en seriez-vous exempts en quelque sorte ? vous n'en serez point exempts ; car je m'en vais appeler l'épée sur tous les habitants de la terre, dit l'Eternel des armées.

WLC ²⁹ כִּי֩ הִנֵּ֨ה בָעִ֜יר אֲשֶׁ֧ר נִֽקְרָא־ שְׁמִ֣י עָלֶ֗יהָ אָֽנֹכִי֙ מֵחֵ֣ל לְהָרַ֔ע וְאַתֶּ֖ם הִנָּקֵ֣ה תִנָּק֑וּ לֹ֣א תִנָּק֔וּ כִּ֣י חֶ֗רֶב אֲנִ֤י קֹרֵא֙ עַל־ כָּל־ יֹשְׁבֵ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ נְאֻ֖ם יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃

KJV ³⁰ Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

MAR ³⁰ Tu prophétiseras donc contre eux toutes ces paroles-là, et tu leur diras : l'Eternel rugira d'en haut, et fera entendre sa voix de la demeure de sa Sainteté ; il rugira d'une façon épouvantable contre son agréable demeure ; il redoublera vers tous les habitants de la terre un cri d'encouragement, comme quand on presse au pressoir.

WLC ³⁰ וְאַתָּה֙ תִּנָּבֵ֣א אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם אֵ֥ת כָּל־ הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם יְהוָ֞ה מִמָּר֤וֹם יִשְׁאָג֙ וּמִמְּע֤וֹן קָדְשׁוֹ֙ יִתֵּ֣ן קוֹל֔וֹ שָׁאֹ֤ג יִשְׁאַג֙ עַל־ נָוֵ֔הוּ הֵידָד֙ כְּדֹרְכִ֣ים יַֽעֲנֶ֔ה אֶ֥ל כָּל־ יֹשְׁבֵ֖י הָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ³¹ A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.

MAR ³¹ Le son éclatant en est venu jusques au bout de la terre ; car l'Eternel plaide avec les nations, et il contestera contre toute chair ; on livrera les méchants à l'épée, dit l'Eternel.

WLC ³¹ בָּ֤א שָׁאוֹן֙ עַד־ קְצֵ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ כִּ֣י רִ֤יב לַֽיהוָה֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם נִשְׁפָּ֥ט ה֖וּא לְכָל־ בָּשָׂ֑ר הָרְשָׁעִ֛ים נְתָנָ֥ם לַחֶ֖רֶב נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ³² Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

MAR ³² Ainsi a dit l'Eternel des armées : voici, le mal s'en va sortir d'une nation à l'autre, et un grand tourbillon se lèvera du fond de la terre.

WLC ³² כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הִנֵּ֥ה רָעָ֛ה יֹצֵ֖את מִגּ֣וֹי אֶל־ גּ֑וֹי וְסַ֣עַר גָּד֔וֹל יֵע֖וֹר מִיַּרְכְּתֵי־ אָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ³³ And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

MAR ³³ Et en ce jour-là ceux qui auront été mis à mort par l'Eternel seront [étendus] depuis un bout de la terre, jusques à son autre bout, ils ne seront point pleurés, et ils ne seront point recueillis, ni ensevelis ; mais ils seront comme du fumier sur le dessus de la terre.

WLC ³³ וְהָי֞וּ חַֽלְלֵ֤י יְהוָה֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא מִקְצֵ֥ה הָאָ֖רֶץ וְעַד־ קְצֵ֣ה הָאָ֑רֶץ לֹ֣א יִסָּפְד֗וּ וְלֹ֤א יֵאָֽסְפוּ֙ וְלֹ֣א יִקָּבֵ֔רוּ לְדֹ֛מֶן עַל־ פְּנֵ֥י הָאֲדָמָ֖ה יִֽהְיֽוּ׃

KJV ³⁴ Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.

MAR ³⁴ [Vous] pasteurs, hurlez et criez ; et vous magnifiques du troupeau, vautrez-vous [dans la poudre] ; car les jours [déterminés] pour vous massacrer, et [les jours] de votre mort sont accomplis ; et vous tomberez comme un vaisseau désirable.

WLC ³⁴ הֵילִ֨ילוּ הָרֹעִ֜ים וְזַעֲק֗וּ וְהִֽתְפַּלְּשׁוּ֙ אַדִּירֵ֣י הַצֹּ֔אן כִּֽי־ מָלְא֥וּ יְמֵיכֶ֖ם לִטְב֑וֹחַ וּתְפוֹצ֣וֹתִיכֶ֔ם וּנְפַלְתֶּ֖ם כִּכְלִ֥י חֶמְדָּֽה׃

KJV ³⁵ And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.

MAR ³⁵ Et les pasteurs n'auront aucun moyen de s'enfuir, ni les magnifiques du troupeau, d'échapper.

WLC ³⁵ וְאָבַ֥ד מָנ֖וֹס מִן־ הָֽרֹעִ֑ים וּפְלֵיטָ֖ה מֵאַדִּירֵ֥י הַצֹּֽאן׃

KJV ³⁶ A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.

MAR ³⁶ Il y aura une voix du cri des pasteurs, et un hurlement des plus puissants du troupeau, à cause que l'Eternel s'en va ravager leurs pâturages.

WLC ³⁶ ק֚וֹל צַעֲקַ֣ת הָֽרֹעִ֔ים וִֽילְלַ֖ת אַדִּירֵ֣י הַצֹּ֑אן כִּֽי־ שֹׁדֵ֥ד יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מַרְעִיתָֽם׃

KJV ³⁷ And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

MAR ³⁷ Et les cabanes paisibles seront abattues, à cause de l'ardeur de la colère de l'Eternel.

WLC ³⁷ וְנָדַ֖מּוּ נְא֣וֹת הַשָּׁל֑וֹם מִפְּנֵ֖י חֲר֥וֹן אַף־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ³⁸ He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.

MAR ³⁸ Il a abandonné son Tabernacle, comme le lionceau, car leur pays va être mis en désolation, à cause de l'ardeur de la fourrageuse, à cause, dis-je, de l'ardeur de sa colère.

WLC ³⁸ עָזַ֥ב כַּכְּפִ֖יר סֻכּ֑וֹ כִּֽי־ הָיְתָ֤ה אַרְצָם֙ לְשַׁמָּ֔ה מִפְּנֵי֙ חֲר֣וֹן הַיּוֹנָ֔ה וּמִפְּנֵ֖י חֲר֥וֹן אַפּֽוֹ׃
