DRB ¹ Et la parole de l'Éternel vint à Jérémie une seconde fois, lorsqu'il était encore enfermé dans la cour de la prison, disant :

DRB ² Ainsi dit l'Éternel qui fait cela, l'Éternel qui se le propose pour l'effectuer, l'Éternel est son nom :

KJV ² Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name;

et formaturus illud, et paraturus :

WLC ² כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה עֹשָׂ֑הּ יְהוָ֗ה יוֹצֵ֥ר אוֹתָ֛הּ לַהֲכִינָ֖הּ יְהוָ֥ה שְׁמֽוֹ׃

DRB ³ Crie vers moi, et je te répondrai, et je te déclarerai des choses grandes et cachées que tu ne sais pas.

KJV ³ Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

VULC ³ Clama ad me, et exaudiam te,
et annuntiabo tibi grandia et firma quæ nescis.

WLC ³ קְרָ֥א אֵלַ֖י וְאֶעֱנֶ֑ךָּ וְאַגִּ֧ידָה לְּךָ֛ גְּדֹל֥וֹת וּבְצֻר֖וֹת לֹ֥א יְדַעְתָּֽם׃

DRB ⁴ Car ainsi dit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, touchant les maisons de cette ville et touchant les maisons des rois de Juda, qui sont renversées à cause des terrasses et à cause de l'épée :

KJV ⁴ For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;

ad domos urbis hujus,
et ad domos regis Juda, quæ destructæ sunt,
et ad munitiones, et ad gladium

WLC ⁴ כִּי֩ כֹ֨ה אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל עַל־ בָּתֵּי֙ הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את וְעַל־ בָּתֵּ֖י מַלְכֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה הַנְּתֻצִ֕ים אֶל־ הַסֹּלְל֖וֹת וְאֶל־ הֶחָֽרֶב׃

DRB ⁵ Ils s'en vont pour combattre contre les Chaldéens, pour remplir les [maisons] des cadavres des hommes que j'ai frappés dans ma colère et dans ma fureur, et à cause de toute l'iniquité desquels j'ai caché ma face de cette ville.

KJV ⁵ They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.

et impleant eas cadaveribus hominum
quos percussi in furore meo et in indignatione mea,
abscondens faciem meam a civitate hac,

WLC ⁵ בָּאִ֗ים לְהִלָּחֵם֙ אֶת־ הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים וּלְמַלְאָם֙ אֶת־ פִּגְרֵ֣י הָאָדָ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־ הִכֵּ֥יתִי בְאַפִּ֖י וּבַחֲמָתִ֑י וַאֲשֶׁ֨ר הִסְתַּ֤רְתִּי פָנַי֙ מֵהָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את עַ֖ל כָּל־ רָעָתָֽם׃

DRB ⁶ Voici, je lui appliquerai un appareil de pansement, et des remèdes, et je les guérirai, et leur révélerai une abondance de paix et de vérité ;

KJV ⁶ Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.

VULC ⁶ Ecce ego obducam eis cicatricem et sanitatem,
et curabo eos, et revelabo illis deprecationem pacis et veritatis.

WLC ⁶ הִנְנִ֧י מַעֲלֶה־ לָּ֛הּ אֲרֻכָ֥ה וּמַרְפֵּ֖א וּרְפָאתִ֑ים וְגִלֵּיתִ֣י לָהֶ֔ם עֲתֶ֥רֶת שָׁל֖וֹם וֶאֱמֶֽת׃

DRB ⁷ et je rétablirai les captifs de Juda et les captifs d'Israël, et je les bâtirai comme au commencement ;

KJV ⁷ And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.

VULC ⁷ Et convertam conversionem Juda et conversionem Jerusalem,
et ædificabo eos sicut a principio.

WLC ⁷ וַהֲשִֽׁבֹתִי֙ אֶת־ שְׁב֣וּת יְהוּדָ֔ה וְאֵ֖ת שְׁב֣וּת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּבְנִתִ֖ים כְּבָרִֽאשֹׁנָֽה׃

DRB ⁸ et je les purifierai de toute leur iniquité [par] laquelle ils ont péché contre moi, et je pardonnerai toutes leurs iniquités [par] lesquelles ils ont péché contre moi et [par] lesquelles ils se sont rebellés contre moi.

KJV ⁸ And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

in qua peccaverunt mihi,
et propitius ero cunctis iniquitatibus eorum,
in quibus dereliquerunt mihi et spreverunt me.

WLC ⁸ וְטִ֣הַרְתִּ֔ים מִכָּל־ עֲוֺנָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָֽטְאוּ־ לִ֑י וְסָלַחְתִּ֗י עֲוֺנֽוֹתֵיהֶם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָֽטְאוּ־ לִ֔י וַאֲשֶׁ֖ר פָּ֥שְׁעוּ בִֽי׃

DRB ⁹ Et ce sera pour moi un nom d'allégresse, une louange et un ornement parmi toutes les nations de la terre, qui apprendront toute la bonté dont j'ai usé envers eux ; et ils craindront et trembleront à cause de tout le bien et à cause de toute la prospérité dont je les ferai jouir*.

KJV ⁹ And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

DRB ¹⁰ Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Dans ce lieu-ci dont vous dites : C'est un désert où il n'y a pas d'homme et où il n'y a pas de bête, dans les villes de Juda et dans les rues de Jérusalem, qui sont désolées, où il n'y a pas d'homme, et où il n'y a pas d'habitant, et où il n'y a pas de bête,

DRB ¹¹ on entendra encore la voix de l'allégresse et la voix de la joie, la voix de l'époux et la voix de l'épouse, la voix de ceux qui disent : Célébrez l'Éternel des armées, car l'Éternel est bon, car sa bonté [demeure] à toujours, - des gens qui apportent des actions de grâces à la maison de l'Éternel. Car je délivrerai le pays de sa captivité, et je le rétablirai comme il était au commencement*, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ¹¹ The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.

DRB ¹² Ainsi dit l'Éternel des armées : Dans ce lieu qui est désert, où il n'y a ni homme ni bête, et dans toutes ses villes, il y aura encore une demeure de bergers qui y feront reposer leur menu bétail ;

KJV ¹² Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.

et in cunctis civitatibus ejus,
habitaculum pastorum accubantium gregum.

DRB ¹³ dans les villes de la montagne, dans les villes du pays plat, et dans les villes du midi, et dans le pays de Benjamin, et dans les environs de Jérusalem, et dans les villes de Juda, le menu bétail passera encore sous les mains de celui qui le compte, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ¹³ In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the LORD.

DRB ¹⁴ Voici, des jours viennent, dit l'Éternel, où j'accomplirai la bonne parole que j'ai dite à la maison d'Israël et à la maison de Juda.

KJV ¹⁴ Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

DRB ¹⁶ En ces jours-là Juda sera sauvé, et Jérusalem demeurera en sécurité ; et voici comment on l'appellera : L'Éternel notre justice.

DRB ¹⁷ Car ainsi dit l'Éternel : David ne manquera pas d'un homme assis sur le trône de la maison d'Israël ;

KJV ¹⁷ For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;

Non interibit de David vir qui sedeat super thronum domus Israël :

WLC ¹⁷ כִּי־ כֹ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה לֹֽא־ יִכָּרֵ֣ת לְדָוִ֔ד אִ֕ישׁ יֹשֵׁ֖ב עַל־ כִּסֵּ֥א בֵֽית־ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

DRB ¹⁸ et les sacrificateurs, les Lévites, ne manqueront pas, devant moi, d'un homme offrant des holocaustes, et faisant fumer des offrandes de gâteau, et faisant des sacrifices, tous les jours.

KJV ¹⁸ Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.

VULC ¹⁸ et de sacerdotibus et de Levitis non interibit vir a facie mea,

et cædat victimas omnibus diebus.]

DRB ²⁰ Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Quand vous romprez mon alliance touchant le jour, et mon alliance touchant la nuit, de sorte qu'il n'y ait pas de jour et de nuit en leur temps,

KJV ²⁰ Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;

VULC ²⁰ [Hæc dicit Dominus :
Si irritum potest fieri pactum meum cum die,
et pactum meum cum nocte,
ut non sit dies et nox in tempore suo,

WLC ²⁰ כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה אִם־ תָּפֵ֙רוּ֙ אֶת־ בְּרִיתִ֣י הַיּ֔וֹם וְאֶת־ בְּרִיתִ֖י הַלָּ֑יְלָה וּלְבִלְתִּ֛י הֱי֥וֹת יֽוֹמָם־ וָלַ֖יְלָה בְּעִתָּֽם׃

DRB ²¹ alors aussi mon alliance avec David, mon serviteur, sera rompue, de sorte qu'il n'ait pas de fils régnant sur son trône, - et avec les Lévites, les sacrificateurs, qui me servent.

KJV ²¹ Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.

VULC ²¹ et pactum meum irritum esse poterit cum David servo meo,
ut non sit ex eo filius qui regnet in throno ejus,
et Levitæ et sacerdotes ministri mei.

WLC ²¹ גַּם־ בְּרִיתִ֤י תֻפַר֙ אֶת־ דָּוִ֣ד עַבְדִּ֔י מִהְיֽוֹת־ ל֥וֹ בֵ֖ן מֹלֵ֣ךְ עַל־ כִּסְא֑וֹ וְאֶת־ הַלְוִיִּ֥ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים מְשָׁרְתָֽי׃

DRB ²² Comme l'armée des cieux ne peut se nombrer, ni le sable de la mer se mesurer, ainsi je multiplierai la semence de David, mon serviteur, et les Lévites qui me servent.

KJV ²² As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

VULC ²² Sicuti enumerari non possunt stellæ cæli,
et metiri arena maris,
sic multiplicabo semen David servi mei,
et Levitas ministros meos.]

DRB ²⁴ N'as-tu pas vu ce que ce peuple a dit, disant : Les deux familles que l'Éternel avait choisies, il les a aussi rejetées ?… Et ils ont méprisé mon peuple de manière à ce que, devant eux, il ne soit plus une nation.

KJV ²⁴ Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.

VULC ²⁴ [Numquid non vidisti quid populus hic locutus sit, dicens :
Duæ cognationes quas elegerat Dominus abjectæ sunt ?
et populum meum despexerunt,
eo quod non sit ultra gens coram eis.

WLC ²⁴ הֲל֣וֹא רָאִ֗יתָ מָֽה־ הָעָ֤ם הַזֶּה֙ דִּבְּר֣וּ לֵאמֹ֔ר שְׁתֵּ֣י הַמִּשְׁפָּח֗וֹת אֲשֶׁ֨ר בָּחַ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה בָּהֶ֖ם וַיִּמְאָסֵ֑ם וְאֶת־ עַמִּי֙ יִנְאָצ֔וּן מִֽהְי֥וֹת ע֖וֹד גּ֥וֹי לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃

DRB ²⁵ Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Si mon alliance touchant le jour et la nuit ne [demeure] pas, si je n'ai pas établi les ordonnances des cieux et de la terre,

KJV ²⁵ Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

VULC ²⁵ Hæc dicit Dominus :
Si pactum meum inter diem et noctem,
et leges cælo et terræ non posui,

WLC ²⁵ כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה אִם־ לֹ֥א בְרִיתִ֖י יוֹמָ֣ם וָלָ֑יְלָה חֻקּ֛וֹת שָׁמַ֥יִם וָאָ֖רֶץ לֹא־ שָֽׂמְתִּי׃

DRB ²⁶ alors aussi je rejetterai la semence de Jacob et de David, mon serviteur, pour ne pas prendre de sa semence ceux qui domineront sur la semence d'Abraham, d'Isaac et de Jacob, car je rétablirai leurs captifs, et j'aurai compassion d'eux.

KJV ²⁶ Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
