WLC ¹ הַדָּבָ֛ר אֲשֶׁר־ הָיָ֥ה אֶֽל־ יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה בִּימֵ֨י יְהוֹיָקִ֧ים בֶּן־ יֹאשִׁיָּ֛הוּ מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV ² Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.

S21 ² L'Eternel a dit: «Va chez les Récabites et parle-leur. Tu les conduiras à la maison de l'Eternel, dans une des salles, et tu leur offriras du vin à boire.»

WLC ² הָלוֹךְ֮ אֶל־ בֵּ֣ית הָרֵכָבִים֒ וְדִבַּרְתָּ֣ אוֹתָ֔ם וַהֲבִֽאוֹתָם֙ בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־ אַחַ֖ת הַלְּשָׁכ֑וֹת וְהִשְׁקִיתָ֥ אוֹתָ֖ם יָֽיִן׃

KJV ³ Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;

S21 ³ J'ai pris Jaazania, fils de Jérémie et petit-fils de Habazinia, ainsi que ses frères, tous ses fils et tout le clan des Récabites,

WLC ³ וָאֶקַּ֞ח אֶת־ יַאֲזַנְיָ֤ה בֶֽן־ יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ בֶּן־ חֲבַצִּנְיָ֔ה וְאֶת־ אֶחָ֖יו וְאֶת־ כָּל־ בָּנָ֑יו וְאֵ֖ת כָּל־ בֵּ֥ית הָרֵכָבִֽים׃

KJV ⁴ And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:

S21 ⁴ et je les ai conduits à la maison de l'Eternel, dans la chambre des fils de Hanan, fils de Jigdalia, homme de Dieu, près de la chambre des chefs, au-dessus de celle de Maaséja, fils de Shallum, qui avait la garde de l'entrée.

WLC ⁴ וָאָבִ֤א אֹתָם֙ בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־ לִשְׁכַּ֗ת בְּנֵ֛י חָנָ֥ן בֶּן־ יִגְדַּלְיָ֖הוּ אִ֣ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים אֲשֶׁר־ אֵ֙צֶל֙ לִשְׁכַּ֣ת הַשָּׂרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר מִמַּ֗עַל לְלִשְׁכַּ֛ת מַעֲשֵׂיָ֥הוּ בֶן־ שַׁלֻּ֖ם שֹׁמֵ֥ר הַסַּֽף׃

KJV ⁵ And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.

S21 ⁵ J'ai placé devant les membres du clan des Récabites des récipients pleins de vin et des coupes et je leur ai dit: «Buvez du vin!»

WLC ⁵ וָאֶתֵּ֞ן לִפְנֵ֣י ׀ בְּנֵ֣י בֵית־ הָרֵכָבִ֗ים גְּבִעִ֛ים מְלֵאִ֥ים יַ֖יִן וְכֹס֑וֹת וָאֹמַ֥ר אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם שְׁתוּ־ יָֽיִן׃

KJV ⁶ But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:

S21 ⁶ Mais ils ont répondu: «Nous ne buvons pas de vin, car notre ancêtre Jonadab, fils de Récab, nous a donné cet ordre: ‘Vous ne boirez jamais de vin, ni vous, ni vos fils.

WLC ⁶ וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ לֹ֣א נִשְׁתֶּה־ יָּ֑יִן כִּי֩ יוֹנָדָ֨ב בֶּן־ רֵכָ֜ב אָבִ֗ינוּ צִוָּ֤ה עָלֵ֙ינוּ֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹ֧א תִשְׁתּוּ־ יַ֛יִן אַתֶּ֥ם וּבְנֵיכֶ֖ם עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ⁷ Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.

S21 ⁷ De plus, vous ne construirez pas de maisons, vous ne sèmerez rien, vous ne planterez pas de vignes et vous n'en posséderez pas, mais vous habiterez sous des tentes toute votre vie. Ainsi vous pourrez vivre longtemps sur cette terre où vous séjournez en étrangers.'

WLC ⁷ וּבַ֣יִת לֹֽא־ תִבְנ֗וּ וְזֶ֤רַע לֹֽא־ תִזְרָ֙עוּ֙ וְכֶ֣רֶם לֹֽא־ תִטָּ֔עוּ וְלֹ֥א יִֽהְיֶ֖ה לָכֶ֑ם כִּ֠י בָּאֳהָלִ֤ים תֵּֽשְׁבוּ֙ כָּל־ יְמֵיכֶ֔ם לְמַ֨עַן תִּֽחְי֜וּ יָמִ֤ים רַבִּים֙ עַל־ פְּנֵ֣י הָאֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֖ם גָּרִ֥ים שָֽׁם׃

KJV ⁸ Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;

S21 ⁸ Nous obéissons à tous les ordres de notre ancêtre Jonadab, fils de Récab: nous ne buvons pas de vin durant toute notre vie, nous, nos femmes, nos fils et nos filles;

WLC ⁸ וַנִּשְׁמַ֗ע בְּק֨וֹל יְהוֹנָדָ֤ב בֶּן־ רֵכָב֙ אָבִ֔ינוּ לְכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוָּ֑נוּ לְבִלְתִּ֤י שְׁתֽוֹת־ יַ֙יִן֙ כָּל־ יָמֵ֔ינוּ אֲנַ֣חְנוּ נָשֵׁ֔ינוּ בָּנֵ֖ינוּ וּבְנֹתֵֽינוּ׃

KJV ⁹ Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:

S21 ⁹ nous ne construisons pas de maisons pour nous y installer, nous ne possédons ni vignes, ni champs, ni semences,

WLC ⁹ וּלְבִלְתִּ֛י בְּנ֥וֹת בָּתִּ֖ים לְשִׁבְתֵּ֑נוּ וְכֶ֧רֶם וְשָׂדֶ֛ה וָזֶ֖רַע לֹ֥א יִֽהְיֶה־ לָּֽנוּ׃

KJV ¹⁰ But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.

S21 ¹⁰ nous habitons sous des tentes. Nous respectons et appliquons tous les ordres de notre ancêtre Jonadab.

WLC ¹⁰ וַנֵּ֖שֶׁב בָּֽאֳהָלִ֑ים וַנִּשְׁמַ֣ע וַנַּ֔עַשׂ כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־ צִוָּ֖נוּ יוֹנָדָ֥ב אָבִֽינוּ׃

KJV ¹¹ But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.

S21 ¹¹ Lorsque Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, a envahi ce pays, nous nous sommes dit: ‘Retirons-nous donc dans Jérusalem pour échapper à l'armée babylonienne et à l'armée syrienne.' Voilà pourquoi nous sommes installés à Jérusalem.»

WLC ¹¹ וַיְהִ֗י בַּעֲל֨וֹת נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר מֶֽלֶךְ־ בָּבֶל֮ אֶל־ הָאָרֶץ֒ וַנֹּ֗אמֶר בֹּ֚אוּ וְנָב֣וֹא יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם מִפְּנֵי֙ חֵ֣יל הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים וּמִפְּנֵ֖י חֵ֣יל אֲרָ֑ם וַנֵּ֖שֶׁב בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

KJV ¹² Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,

KJV ¹³ Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.

S21 ¹³ «Voici ce que dit l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers, le Dieu d'Israël: Va annoncer aux hommes de Juda et aux habitants de Jérusalem: ‘N'allez-vous pas tenir compte de la correction et obéir à mes paroles? déclare l'Eternel.

WLC ¹³ כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֞ר יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הָלֹ֤ךְ וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ לְאִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה וּלְיֽוֹשְׁבֵ֖י יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם הֲל֨וֹא תִקְח֥וּ מוּסָ֛ר לִשְׁמֹ֥עַ אֶל־ דְּבָרַ֖י נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹⁴ The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.

S21 ¹⁴ On a respecté les paroles de Jonadab, fils de Récab, qui a interdit à ses descendants de boire du vin: ils n'en ont pas bu jusqu'à aujourd'hui, parce qu'ils ont obéi à l'ordre de leur ancêtre. Et moi, je vous ai parlé et reparlé, inlassablement, mais vous ne m'avez pas écouté.

WLC ¹⁴ הוּקַ֡ם אֶת־ דִּבְרֵ֣י יְהוֹנָדָ֣ב בֶּן־ רֵ֠כָב אֲשֶׁר־ צִוָּ֨ה אֶת־ בָּנָ֜יו לְבִלְתִּ֣י שְׁתֽוֹת־ יַ֗יִן וְלֹ֤א שָׁתוּ֙ עַד־ הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה כִּ֣י שָֽׁמְע֔וּ אֵ֖ת מִצְוַ֣ת אֲבִיהֶ֑ם וְאָ֨נֹכִ֜י דִּבַּ֤רְתִּי אֲלֵיכֶם֙ הַשְׁכֵּ֣ם וְדַבֵּ֔ר וְלֹ֥א שְׁמַעְתֶּ֖ם אֵלָֽי׃

KJV ¹⁵ I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

S21 ¹⁵ Je vous ai envoyé tous mes serviteurs, les prophètes. Je les ai envoyés, inlassablement, pour vous dire: Que chacun renonce donc à sa mauvaise conduite, corrigez votre manière d'agir, ne suivez pas d'autres dieux pour les servir, et vous pourrez rester sur la terre que je vous ai donnée, à vous et à vos ancêtres. Pourtant, vous n'avez pas tendu l'oreille, vous ne m'avez pas écouté.'

WLC ¹⁵ וָאֶשְׁלַ֣ח אֲלֵיכֶ֣ם אֶת־ כָּל־ עֲבָדַ֣י הַנְּבִאִ֣ים ׀ הַשְׁכֵּ֣ים וְשָׁלֹ֣חַ ׀ לֵאמֹ֡ר שֻׁבוּ־ נָ֡א אִישׁ֩ מִדַּרְכּ֨וֹ הָרָעָ֜ה וְהֵיטִ֣יבוּ מַֽעַלְלֵיכֶ֗ם וְאַל־ תֵּ֨לְכ֜וּ אַחֲרֵ֨י אֱלֹהִ֤ים אֲחֵרִים֙ לְעָבְדָ֔ם וּשְׁבוּ֙ אֶל־ הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־ נָתַ֥תִּי לָכֶ֖ם וְלַאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶ֑ם וְלֹ֤א הִטִּיתֶם֙ אֶֽת־ אָזְנְכֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א שְׁמַעְתֶּ֖ם אֵלָֽי׃

KJV ¹⁶ Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:

S21 ¹⁶ »Oui, les descendants de Jonadab, fils de Récab, respectent l'ordre que leur ancêtre leur a donné, mais ce peuple ne m'écoute pas!

WLC ¹⁶ כִּ֣י הֵקִ֗ימוּ בְּנֵי֙ יְהוֹנָדָ֣ב בֶּן־ רֵכָ֔ב אֶת־ מִצְוַ֥ת אֲבִיהֶ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוָּ֑ם וְהָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה לֹ֥א שָׁמְע֖וּ אֵלָֽי׃

KJV ¹⁷ Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.

S21 ¹⁷ C'est pourquoi, voici ce que dit l'Eternel, le Dieu de l'univers, le Dieu d'Israël: Je vais faire venir sur Juda et sur tous les habitants de Jérusalem tout le mal dont je les ai menacés, et cela parce que je leur ai parlé et qu'ils n'ont pas écouté, parce que je les ai appelés et qu'ils n'ont pas répondu.»

KJV ¹⁸ And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:

S21 ¹⁸ Jérémie dit ensuite au clan des Récabites: «Voici ce que dit l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers, le Dieu d'Israël: Puisque vous avez obéi aux ordres de votre ancêtre Jonadab, que vous avez gardé tous ses commandements et appliqué tous ses ordres,

WLC ¹⁸ וּלְבֵ֨ית הָרֵכָבִ֜ים אָמַ֣ר יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֞ר יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל יַ֚עַן אֲשֶׁ֣ר שְׁמַעְתֶּ֔ם עַל־ מִצְוַ֖ת יְהוֹנָדָ֣ב אֲבִיכֶ֑ם וַֽתִּשְׁמְרוּ֙ אֶת־ כָּל־ מִצְוֺתָ֔יו וַֽתַּעֲשׂ֔וּ כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־ צִוָּ֖ה אֶתְכֶֽם׃

KJV ¹⁹ Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

S21 ¹⁹ voici ce que dit l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers, le Dieu d'Israël: Jonadab, fils de Récab, ne manquera jamais de descendants qui soient à mon service.»
