BAN ³ Car ainsi parle l'Eternel aux hommes de Juda et à Jérusalem : Défrichez vos jachères et ne semez pas dans les épines !

KJV ³ For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

BAN ⁴ Circoncisez-vous pour l'Eternel et enlevez les prépuces de votre coeur, hommes de Juda et habitants de Jérusalem ; de peur que ma colère n'éclate comme un feu et ne consume sans que personne éteigne, à cause de la méchanceté de vos actions.

KJV ⁴ Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

BAN ⁵ Publiez dans Juda et annoncez dans Jérusalem, et parlez ; et sonnez de la trompette dans le pays ; criez à pleine voix et dites : Rassemblez-vous, et allons dans les villes fortes.

KJV ⁵ Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.

BAN ⁶ Elevez un étendard du côté de Sion, sauvez-vous, ne vous arrêtez pas, car j'amène du septentrion malheur et grand désastre.

KJV ⁶ Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.

KJV ⁷ The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

BAN ⁸ C'est pourquoi ceignez le cilice, frappez-vous et lamentez-vous, car l'ardeur de la colère de l'Eternel ne s'est pas détournée de nous.

KJV ⁸ For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.

BAN ⁹ Et il arrivera en ces jours-là, dit l'Eternel, que le coeur manquera au roi et aux princes ; les sacrificateurs seront consternés et les prophètes stupéfaits.

KJV ⁹ And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.

KJV ¹¹ At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,

BAN ¹² c'est un vent plus fort que pour cela, qui vient à mes ordres ; maintenant, à mon tour, je vais prononcer leur sentence.

KJV ¹² Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.

WLC ¹² ר֧וּחַ מָלֵ֛א מֵאֵ֖לֶּה יָ֣בוֹא לִ֑י עַתָּ֕ה גַּם־ אֲנִ֛י אֲדַבֵּ֥ר מִשְׁפָּטִ֖ים אוֹתָֽם׃

BAN ¹³ Voici, il monte comme les nuées ; comme l'ouragan sont ses chars ; plus rapides que les aigles, ses chevaux ; malheur à nous, car nous sommes dévastés !

KJV ¹³ Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

BAN ¹⁴ Détache ton coeur de la méchanceté, Jérusalem, pour que tu sois sauvée ; jusques à quand demeureront-elles dans ton coeur, tes pensées de ruine ?

KJV ¹⁴ O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

WLC ¹⁴ כַּבְּסִ֨י מֵרָעָ֤ה לִבֵּךְ֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם לְמַ֖עַן תִּוָּשֵׁ֑עִי עַד־ מָתַ֛י תָּלִ֥ין בְּקִרְבֵּ֖ךְ מַחְשְׁב֥וֹת אוֹנֵֽךְ׃

BAN ¹⁵ Car une voix publie depuis Dan et annonce des ruines depuis la montagne d'Ephraïm ;

KJV ¹⁵ For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.

WLC ¹⁵ כִּ֛י ק֥וֹל מַגִּ֖יד מִדָּ֑ן וּמַשְׁמִ֥יעַ אָ֖וֶן מֵהַ֥ר אֶפְרָֽיִם׃

BAN ¹⁶ faites-le savoir aux nations ; holà ! faites-leur dire : A Jérusalem ! Des assiégeants arrivent d'une terre lointaine et poussent leurs cris contre les villes de Juda ;

KJV ¹⁶ Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.

BAN ¹⁷ comme des gardes des champs, ils sont à l'entour de Jérusalem ; car elle s'est rebellée contre moi, dit l'Eternel.

KJV ¹⁷ As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the LORD.

BAN ¹⁸ Voilà ce que te vaudront ta conduite et tes actes ; voilà l'effet de ta méchanceté ; oui, cela est amer ; oui, cela atteint jusqu'à ton coeur !

KJV ¹⁸ Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.

BAN ²⁰ On annonce brèche sur brèche car tout le pays est ravagé ; tout d'un coup on détruit mes tentes ; en un instant, mes pavillons.

KJV ²⁰ Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.

BAN ²¹ Jusques à quand verrai-je l'étendard ? entendrai-je le son de la trompette ?

BAN ²² C'est que mon peuple est fou ; ils ne me connaissent pas ; ce sont des fils insensés ; ils n'ont pas d'intelligence ; ils sont habiles à faire le mal, et ils ne savent pas faire le bien.

KJV ²² For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

BAN ²⁴ Je regarde les montagnes, et voici elles tremblent, et toutes les collines chancellent.

BAN ²⁵ Je regarde, et voici, il n'y a personne, et tous les oiseaux du ciel ont fui.

BAN ²⁶ Je regarde, et voici le verger est devenu le désert, et toutes ses villes sont détruites devant l'Eternel, devant l'ardeur de sa colère.

KJV ²⁶ I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.

WLC ²⁶ רָאִ֕יתִי וְהִנֵּ֥ה הַכַּרְמֶ֖ל הַמִּדְבָּ֑ר וְכָל־ עָרָ֗יו נִתְּצוּ֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה מִפְּנֵ֖י חֲר֥וֹן אַפּֽוֹ׃

BAN ²⁷ Car ainsi a dit l'Eternel : Tout le pays ne sera que désolation ; cependant je ne le détruirai pas entièrement.

KJV ²⁷ For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

BAN ²⁸ Pour cela, la terre est en deuil, et les cieux sont obscurcis en-haut, parce que je l'ai dit, parce que je l'ai résolu, et je ne m'en repens pas, et je n'en reviendrai pas.

KJV ²⁸ For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.

BAN ²⁹ A la voix du cavalier et de l'archer, toute ville est en fuite ; on entre dans les forêts ; on monte sur les rochers ; toute ville est abandonnée ; il n'y reste personne.

KJV ²⁹ The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.

WLC ²⁹ מִקּ֨וֹל פָּרָ֜שׁ וְרֹ֣מֵה קֶ֗שֶׁת בֹּרַ֙חַת֙ כָּל־ הָעִ֔יר בָּ֚אוּ בֶּעָבִ֔ים וּבַכֵּפִ֖ים עָל֑וּ כָּל־ הָעִ֣יר עֲזוּבָ֔ה וְאֵין־ יוֹשֵׁ֥ב בָּהֵ֖ן אִֽישׁ׃

BAN ³⁰ Et toi, dévastée, que fais-tu de te vêtir de pourpre, de te parer d'ornements d'or, de border tes yeux de fard ? C'est en vain que tu te fais belle ; tes amants te dédaignent ; c'est ta vie qu'ils veulent.

KJV ³⁰ And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.

BAN ³¹ Car j'entends une voix comme celle d'une femme en travail ; un cri d'angoisse, comme de celle qui enfante une première fois ; c'est la voix de la fille de Sion ; elle est haletante, elle étend les mains : Malheur à moi ! car mon âme succombe aux coups des meurtriers.

KJV ³¹ For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.
