DRB ² Et Ismaël, fils de Nethania, se leva, et les dix hommes qui étaient avec lui, et ils frappèrent avec l'épée Guedalia, fils d'Akhikam, fils de Shaphan : et il le fit mourir, lui que le roi de Babylone avait établi sur le pays.

KJV ² Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.

KJV ³ Ishmael also slew all the Jews that were with him, even with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans that were found there, and the men of war.

S21 ³ Il tua aussi tous les Juifs qui étaient avec Guedalia à Mitspa ainsi que les Babyloniens qui se trouvaient là, des hommes de guerre.

S21 ⁵ arrivèrent de Sichem, de Silo et de Samarie 80 hommes qui avaient la barbe rasée et les habits déchirés et qui s'étaient fait des incisions. Ils étaient porteurs d'offrandes et d'encens destinés à la maison de l'Eternel.

KJV ⁶ And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and it came to pass, as he met them, he said unto them, Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.

DRB ⁷ Et il arriva que, quand ils furent entrés jusqu'au milieu de la ville, Ismaël, fils de Nethania (lui et les hommes qui étaient avec lui), les égorgea [et les jeta] au milieu d'une fosse.

KJV ⁷ And it was so, when they came into the midst of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah slew them, and cast them into the midst of the pit, he, and the men that were with him.

S21 ⁷ Lorsqu'ils arrivèrent au milieu de la ville, Ismaël, fils de Nethania, les égorgea et les jeta dans la citerne, avec l'aide de ceux qui l'accompagnaient.

DRB ⁸ Et il se trouva parmi eux dix hommes qui dirent à Ismaël : Ne nous fais pas mourir, car nous avons des choses cachées dans la campagne, du froment, et de l'orge, et de l'huile, et du miel. Et il s'abstint, et ne les fit pas mourir parmi leurs frères.

KJV ⁸ But ten men were found among them that said unto Ishmael, Slay us not: for we have treasures in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey. So he forbare, and slew them not among their brethren.

S21 ⁸ Cependant, il y eut parmi eux dix hommes qui dirent à Ismaël: «Ne nous fais pas mourir, car nous avons des provisions cachées dans les champs, du blé, de l'orge, de l'huile et du miel.» Alors il renonça à les faire mourir avec leurs frères.

DRB ⁹ Et la fosse où Ismaël jeta tous les cadavres des hommes qu'il tua à côté de* Guedalia est celle que le roi Asa avait faite à cause de Baësha, roi d'Israël ; c'est celle-là qu'Ismaël, fils de Nethania, remplit de gens tués.

KJV ⁹ Now the pit wherein Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies of the men, whom he had slain because of Gedaliah, was it which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel: and Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with them that were slain.

S21 ⁹ La citerne dans laquelle Ismaël jeta tous les cadavres des hommes qu'il avait tués, à côté de celui de Guedalia, était celle qu'avait construite le roi Asa à cause de Baesha, roi d'Israël. C'est cette citerne qu'Ismaël, fils de Nethania, remplit de morts.

VULC ⁹ Lacus autem in quem projecerat Ismahel omnia cadavera virorum quos percussit propter Godoliam, ipse est quem fecit rex Asa propter Baasa regem Israël : ipsum replevit Ismahel filius Nathaniæ occisis.

DRB ¹⁰ Et Ismaël emmena captif tout le reste du peuple qui était à Mitspa, les filles du roi, et tous ceux du peuple qui étaient demeurés de reste à Mitspa, que Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, avait commis à Guedalia, fils d'Akhikam : Ismaël, fils de Nethania, les emmena captifs, et s'en alla pour passer vers les fils d'Ammon.

KJV ¹⁰ Then Ishmael carried away captive all the residue of the people that were in Mizpah, even the king's daughters, and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam: and Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the Ammonites.

S21 ¹⁰ Il emmena de force tous ceux qui restaient à Mitspa: les filles du roi et tout le peuple qui y était resté, ceux que Nebuzaradan, le chef des gardes, avait confiés à Guedalia, fils d'Achikam. Ismaël, fils de Nethania, les emmena prisonniers et partit rejoindre le camp des Ammonites.

DRB ¹² et ils prirent tous leurs hommes et s'en allèrent pour combattre contre Ismaël, fils de Nethania ; et ils le trouvèrent près des grandes eaux qui sont à Gabaon.

KJV ¹² Then they took all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are in Gibeon.

S21 ¹² Ils prirent tous leurs hommes et se mirent en marche pour attaquer Ismaël, fils de Nethania. Ils le découvrirent près des grands réservoirs de Gabaon.

VULC ¹² et assumptis universis viris, profecti sunt ut bellarent adversum Ismahel filium Nathaniæ : et invenerunt eum ad aquas multas quæ sunt in Gabaon.

DRB ¹³ Et il arriva que, lorsque tout le peuple qui était avec Ismaël vit Jokhanan, fils de Karéakh, et tous les chefs des forces qui étaient avec lui, ils se réjouirent ;

KJV ¹³ Now it came to pass, that when all the people which were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, then they were glad.

S21 ¹³ En voyant Jochanan, fils de Karéach, et tous les chefs de troupes qui l'accompagnaient, tout le peuple qui suivait Ismaël se réjouit.

VULC ¹³ Cumque vidisset omnis populus qui erat cum Ismahel Johanan filium Caree, et universos principes bellatorum qui erant cum eo, lætati sunt :

DRB ¹⁴ et tout le peuple qu'Ismaël avait emmené captif de Mitspa fit volte-face, et s'en retourna, et s'en alla vers Jokhanan, fils de Karéakh.

KJV ¹⁴ So all the people that Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah cast about and returned, and went unto Johanan the son of Kareah.

S21 ¹⁴ Tous ceux qu'Ismaël avait emmenés de force de Mitspa firent demi-tour et vinrent se joindre à Jochanan, fils de Karéach.

VULC ¹⁴ et reversus est omnis populus quem ceperat Ismahel, in Masphath, reversusque abiit ad Johanan filium Caree.

KJV ¹⁵ But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the Ammonites.

S21 ¹⁵ Quant à Ismaël, fils de Nethania, il s'enfuit avec huit hommes devant Jochanan et se réfugia chez les Ammonites.

KJV ¹⁶ Then took Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after that he had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, even mighty men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought again from Gibeon:

S21 ¹⁶ Jochanan, fils de Karéach, et tous les chefs des troupes qui étaient avec lui prirent en charge tout ce qui restait du peuple après l'avoir délivré d'Ismaël, fils de Nethania. Ce dernier l'avait forcé à quitter Mitspa, après l'assassinat de Guedalia, fils d'Achikam. Jochanan ramena de Gabaon des hommes de guerre, des femmes, des enfants et des eunuques.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיֵּלְכ֗וּ וַיֵּֽשְׁבוּ֙ בְּגֵר֣וּת אֲשֶׁר־ אֵ֖צֶל בֵּ֣ית לָ֑חֶם לָלֶ֖כֶת לָב֥וֹא מִצְרָֽיִם׃

DRB ¹⁸ pour se retirer en Égypte, à cause des Chaldéens ; car ils les craignaient, parce qu'Ismaël, fils de Nethania, avait frappé Guedalia, fils d'Akhikam, que le roi de Babylone avait établi sur le pays.

KJV ¹⁸ Because of the Chaldeans: for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon made governor in the land.
