KJV 1 And Job answered and said,

VULC 1 Respondens autem Job, dixit :

WLC 1 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב וַיֹּאמַֽר׃

KJV 2 No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

VULC 2 [Ergo vos estis soli homines,
et vobiscum morietur sapientia ?

WLC 2 אָ֭מְנָם כִּ֣י אַתֶּם־ עָ֑ם וְ֝עִמָּכֶ֗ם תָּמ֥וּת חָכְמָֽה׃

KJV 3 But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

VULC 3 Et mihi est cor sicut et vobis, nec inferior vestri sum ;
quis enim hæc quæ nostis ignorat ?

WLC 3 גַּם־ לִ֤י לֵבָ֨ב ׀ כְּֽמוֹכֶ֗ם לֹא־ נֹפֵ֣ל אָנֹכִ֣י מִכֶּ֑ם וְאֶת־ מִי־ אֵ֥ין כְּמוֹ־ אֵֽלֶּה׃

KJV 4 I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.

VULC 4 Qui deridetur ab amico suo, sicut ego,
invocabit Deum, et exaudiet eum :
deridetur enim justi simplicitas.

WLC 4 שְׂחֹ֤ק לְרֵעֵ֨הוּ ׀ אֶֽהְיֶ֗ה קֹרֵ֣א לֶ֭אֱלוֹהַּ וַֽיַּעֲנֵ֑הוּ שְׂ֝ח֗וֹק צַדִּ֥יק תָּמִֽים׃

KJV 5 He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.

VULC 5 Lampas contempta apud cogitationes divitum
parata ad tempus statutum.

WLC 5 לַפִּ֣יד בּ֭וּז לְעַשְׁתּ֣וּת שַׁאֲנָ֑ן נָ֝כ֗וֹן לְמ֣וֹעֲדֵי רָֽגֶל׃

KJV 6 The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.

VULC 6 Abundant tabernacula prædonum,
et audacter provocant Deum,
cum ipse dederit omnia in manus eorum.

WLC 6 יִשְׁלָ֤יוּ אֹֽהָלִ֨ים ׀ לְשֹׁ֥דְדִ֗ים וּֽ֭בַטֻּחוֹת לְמַרְגִּ֣יזֵי אֵ֑ל לַאֲשֶׁ֤ר הֵבִ֖יא אֱל֣וֹהַּ בְּיָדֽוֹ׃

KJV 7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:

VULC 7 Nimirum interroga jumenta, et docebunt te ;
et volatilia cæli, et indicabunt tibi.

WLC 7 וְֽאוּלָ֗ם שְׁאַל־ נָ֣א בְהֵמ֣וֹת וְתֹרֶ֑ךָּ וְע֥וֹף הַ֝שָּׁמַ֗יִם וְיַגֶּד־ לָֽךְ׃

KJV 8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

VULC 8 Loquere terræ, et respondebit tibi,
et narrabunt pisces maris.

WLC 8 א֤וֹ שִׂ֣יחַ לָאָ֣רֶץ וְתֹרֶ֑ךָּ וִֽיסַפְּר֥וּ לְ֝ךָ֗ דְּגֵ֣י הַיָּֽם׃

KJV 9 Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?

VULC 9 Quis ignorat quod omnia hæc manus Domini fecerit ?

WLC 9 מִ֭י לֹא־ יָדַ֣ע בְּכָל־ אֵ֑לֶּה כִּ֥י יַד־ יְ֝הוָה עָ֣שְׂתָה זֹּֽאת׃

KJV 10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

VULC 10 In cujus manu anima omnis viventis,
et spiritus universæ carnis hominis.

WLC 10 אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּ֭יָדוֹ נֶ֣פֶשׁ כָּל־ חָ֑י וְ֝ר֗וּחַ כָּל־ בְּשַׂר־ אִֽישׁ׃

KJV 11 Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?

VULC 11 Nonne auris verba dijudicat ?
et fauces comedentis, saporem ?

WLC 11 הֲלֹא־ אֹ֭זֶן מִלִּ֣ין תִּבְחָ֑ן וְ֝חֵ֗ךְ אֹ֣כֶל יִטְעַם־ לֽוֹ׃

KJV 12 With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.

VULC 12 In antiquis est sapientia,
et in multo tempore prudentia.

WLC 12 בִּֽישִׁישִׁ֥ים חָכְמָ֑ה וְאֹ֖רֶךְ יָמִ֣ים תְּבוּנָֽה׃

KJV 13 With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.

VULC 13 Apud ipsum est sapientia et fortitudo ;
ipse habet consilium et intelligentiam.

WLC 13 עִ֭מּוֹ חָכְמָ֣ה וּגְבוּרָ֑ה ל֝֗וֹ עֵצָ֥ה וּתְבוּנָֽה׃

KJV 14 Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.

VULC 14 Si destruxerit, nemo est qui ædificet ;
si incluserit hominem, nullus est qui aperiat.

WLC 14 הֵ֣ן יַ֭הֲרוֹס וְלֹ֣א יִבָּנֶ֑ה יִסְגֹּ֥ר עַל־ אִ֝֗ישׁ וְלֹ֣א יִפָּתֵֽחַ׃

KJV 15 Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.

VULC 15 Si continuerit aquas, omnia siccabuntur ;
et si emiserit eas, subvertent terram.

WLC 15 הֵ֤ן יַעְצֹ֣ר בַּמַּ֣יִם וְיִבָ֑שׁוּ וִֽ֝ישַׁלְּחֵ֗ם וְיַ֖הַפְכוּ אָֽרֶץ׃

KJV 16 With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.

VULC 16 Apud ipsum est fortitudo et sapientia ;
ipse novit et decipientem, et eum qui decipitur.

WLC 16 עִ֭מּוֹ עֹ֣ז וְתֽוּשִׁיָּ֑ה ל֝֗וֹ שֹׁגֵ֥ג וּמַשְׁגֶּֽה׃

KJV 17 He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.

VULC 17 Adducit consiliarios in stultum finem,
et judices in stuporem.

WLC 17 מוֹלִ֣יךְ יוֹעֲצִ֣ים שׁוֹלָ֑ל וְֽשֹׁפְטִ֥ים יְהוֹלֵֽל׃

KJV 18 He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.

VULC 18 Balteum regum dissolvit,
et præcingit fune renes eorum.

WLC 18 מוּסַ֣ר מְלָכִ֣ים פִּתֵּ֑חַ וַיֶּאְסֹ֥ר אֵ֝ז֗וֹר בְּמָתְנֵיהֶֽם׃

KJV 19 He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.

VULC 19 Ducit sacerdotes inglorios,
et optimates supplantat :

WLC 19 מוֹלִ֣יךְ כֹּהֲנִ֣ים שׁוֹלָ֑ל וְאֵֽתָנִ֣ים יְסַלֵּֽף׃

KJV 20 He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.

VULC 20 commutans labium veracium,
et doctrinam senum auferens.

WLC 20 מֵסִ֣יר שָׂ֭פָה לְנֶאֱמָנִ֑ים וְטַ֖עַם זְקֵנִ֣ים יִקָּֽח׃

KJV 21 He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.

VULC 21 Effundit despectionem super principes,
eos qui oppressi fuerant relevans.

WLC 21 שׁוֹפֵ֣ךְ בּ֭וּז עַל־ נְדִיבִ֑ים וּמְזִ֖יחַ אֲפִיקִ֣ים רִפָּֽה׃

KJV 22 He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.

VULC 22 Qui revelat profunda de tenebris,
et producit in lucem umbram mortis.

KJV 23 He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.

VULC 23 Qui multiplicat gentes, et perdit eas,
et subversas in integrum restituit.

WLC 23 מַשְׂגִּ֣יא לַ֭גּוֹיִם וַֽיְאַבְּדֵ֑ם שֹׁטֵ֥חַ לַ֝גּוֹיִ֗ם וַיַּנְחֵֽם׃

KJV 24 He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

VULC 24 Qui immutat cor principum populi terræ,
et decipit eos ut frustra incedant per invium :

WLC 24 מֵסִ֗יר לֵ֭ב רָאשֵׁ֣י עַם־ הָאָ֑רֶץ וַ֝יַּתְעֵ֗ם בְּתֹ֣הוּ לֹא־ דָֽרֶךְ׃

KJV 25 They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
