KJV 1 Then Job answered and said,

WLC 1 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב וַיֹּאמַֽר׃

KJV 2 How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?

WLC 2 עַד־ אָ֭נָה תּוֹגְי֣וּן נַפְשִׁ֑י וּֽתְדַכְּאוּנַ֥נִי בְמִלִּֽים׃

KJV 3 These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.

WLC 3 זֶ֤ה עֶ֣שֶׂר פְּ֭עָמִים תַּכְלִימ֑וּנִי לֹֽא־ תֵ֝בֹ֗שׁוּ תַּהְכְּרוּ־ לִֽי׃

KJV 4 And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.

WLC 4 וְאַף־ אָמְנָ֥ם שָׁגִ֑יתִי אִ֝תִּ֗י תָּלִ֥ין מְשׁוּגָתִֽי׃

KJV 5 If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:

WLC 5 אִם־ אָ֭מְנָם עָלַ֣י תַּגְדִּ֑ילוּ וְתוֹכִ֥יחוּ עָ֝לַ֗י חֶרְפָּתִּֽי׃

KJV 6 Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.

WLC 6 דְּֽעוּ־ אֵ֭פוֹ כִּי־ אֱל֣וֹהַּ עִוְּתָ֑נִי וּ֝מְצוּד֗וֹ עָלַ֥י הִקִּֽיף׃

KJV 7 Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.

WLC 7 הֵ֤ן אֶצְעַ֣ק חָ֭מָס וְלֹ֣א אֵעָנֶ֑ה אֲ֝שַׁוַּ֗ע וְאֵ֣ין מִשְׁפָּֽט׃

KJV 8 He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.

WLC 8 אָרְחִ֣י גָ֭דַר וְלֹ֣א אֶעֱב֑וֹר וְעַ֥ל נְ֝תִיבוֹתַ֗י חֹ֣שֶׁךְ יָשִֽׂים׃

KJV 9 He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.

WLC 9 כְּ֭בוֹדִי מֵעָלַ֣י הִפְשִׁ֑יט וַ֝יָּ֗סַר עֲטֶ֣רֶת רֹאשִֽׁי׃

KJV 10 He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.

WLC 10 יִתְּצֵ֣נִי סָ֭בִיב וָאֵלַ֑ךְ וַיַּסַּ֥ע כָּ֝עֵ֗ץ תִּקְוָתִֽי׃

KJV 11 He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.

WLC 11 וַיַּ֣חַר עָלַ֣י אַפּ֑וֹ וַיַּחְשְׁבֵ֖נִי ל֣וֹ כְצָרָֽיו׃

KJV 12 His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.

WLC 12 יַ֤חַד ׀ יָ֘בֹ֤אוּ גְדוּדָ֗יו וַיָּסֹ֣לּוּ עָלַ֣י דַּרְכָּ֑ם וַיַּחֲנ֖וּ סָבִ֣יב לְאָהֳלִֽי׃

KJV 13 He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.

WLC 13 אַ֭חַי מֵעָלַ֣י הִרְחִ֑יק וְ֝יֹדְעַ֗י אַךְ־ זָ֥רוּ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃

KJV 14 My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.

WLC 14 חָדְל֥וּ קְרוֹבָ֑י וּֽמְיֻדָּעַ֥י שְׁכֵחֽוּנִי׃

KJV 15 They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.

WLC 15 גָּ֘רֵ֤י בֵיתִ֣י וְ֭אַמְהֹתַי לְזָ֣ר תַּחְשְׁבֻ֑נִי נָ֝כְרִ֗י הָיִ֥יתִי בְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃

KJV 16 I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.

WLC 16 לְעַבְדִּ֣י קָ֭רָאתִי וְלֹ֣א יַעֲנֶ֑ה בְּמוֹ־ פִ֝֗י אֶתְחַנֶּן־ לֽוֹ׃

KJV 17 My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children's sake of mine own body.

WLC 17 ר֭וּחִֽי זָ֣רָה לְאִשְׁתִּ֑י וְ֝חַנֹּתִ֗י לִבְנֵ֥י בִטְנִֽי׃

KJV 18 Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.

WLC 18 גַּם־ עֲ֭וִילִים מָ֣אֲסוּ בִ֑י אָ֝ק֗וּמָה וַיְדַבְּרוּ־ בִֽי׃

KJV 19 All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.

WLC 19 תִּֽ֭עֲבוּנִי כָּל־ מְתֵ֣י סוֹדִ֑י וְזֶֽה־ אָ֝הַ֗בְתִּי נֶהְפְּכוּ־ בִֽי׃

KJV 20 My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

WLC 20 בְּעוֹרִ֣י וּ֭בִבְשָׂרִי דָּבְקָ֣ה עַצְמִ֑י וָ֝אֶתְמַלְּטָ֗ה בְּע֣וֹר שִׁנָּֽי׃

KJV 21 Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.

WLC 21 חָנֻּ֬נִי חָנֻּ֣נִי אַתֶּ֣ם רֵעָ֑י כִּ֥י יַד־ אֱ֝ל֗וֹהַּ נָ֣גְעָה בִּֽי׃

KJV 22 Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

WLC 22 לָ֭מָּה תִּרְדְּפֻ֣נִי כְמוֹ־ אֵ֑ל וּ֝מִבְּשָׂרִ֗י לֹ֣א תִשְׂבָּֽעוּ׃

KJV 23 Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!

WLC 23 מִֽי־ יִתֵּ֣ן אֵ֭פוֹ וְיִכָּתְב֣וּן מִלָּ֑י מִֽי־ יִתֵּ֖ן בַּסֵּ֣פֶר וְיֻחָֽקוּ׃

KJV 24 That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!

WLC 24 בְּעֵט־ בַּרְזֶ֥ל וְעֹפָ֑רֶת לָ֝עַ֗ד בַּצּ֥וּר יֵחָצְבֽוּן׃

KJV 25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

WLC 25 וַאֲנִ֣י יָ֭דַעְתִּי גֹּ֣אֲלִי חָ֑י וְ֝אַחֲר֗וֹן עַל־ עָפָ֥ר יָקֽוּם׃

KJV 26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

WLC 26 וְאַחַ֣ר ע֭וֹרִֽי נִקְּפוּ־ זֹ֑את וּ֝מִבְּשָׂרִ֗י אֶֽחֱזֶ֥ה אֱלֽוֹהַּ׃

KJV 27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

WLC 27 אֲשֶׁ֤ר אֲנִ֨י ׀ אֶֽחֱזֶה־ לִּ֗י וְעֵינַ֣י רָא֣וּ וְלֹא־ זָ֑ר כָּל֖וּ כִלְיֹתַ֣י בְּחֵקִֽי׃

KJV 28 But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?

WLC 28 כִּ֣י תֹ֭אמְרוּ מַה־ נִּרְדָּף־ ל֑וֹ וְשֹׁ֥רֶשׁ דָּ֝בָ֗ר נִמְצָא־ בִֽי׃

KJV 29 Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.

WLC 29 גּ֤וּרוּ לָכֶ֨ם ׀ מִפְּנֵי־ חֶ֗רֶב כִּֽי־ חֵ֭מָה עֲוֺנ֣וֹת חָ֑רֶב לְמַ֖עַן תֵּדְע֣וּן
