KJV 1 But Job answered and said,

VULC 1 Respondens autem Job dixit :

WLC 1 וַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב וַיֹּאמַֽר׃

KJV 2 How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?

VULC 2 [Cujus adjutor es ? numquid imbecillis ?
et sustentas brachium ejus qui non est fortis ?

WLC 2 מֶה־ עָזַ֥רְתָּ לְלֹא־ כֹ֑חַ ה֝וֹשַׁ֗עְתָּ זְר֣וֹעַ לֹא־ עֹֽז׃

KJV 3 How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?

VULC 3 Cui dedisti consilium ?
forsitan illi qui non habet sapientiam :
et prudentiam tuam ostendisti plurimam.

WLC 3 מַה־ יָּ֭עַצְתָּ לְלֹ֣א חָכְמָ֑ה וְ֝תוּשִׁיָּ֗ה לָרֹ֥ב הוֹדָֽעְתָּ׃

KJV 4 To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?

VULC 4 Quem docere voluisti ?
nonne eum qui fecit spiramentum ?

WLC 4 אֶת־ מִ֭י הִגַּ֣דְתָּ מִלִּ֑ין וְנִשְׁמַת־ מִ֝י יָצְאָ֥ה מִמֶּֽךָּ׃

KJV 5 Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.

VULC 5 Ecce gigantes gemunt sub aquis,
et qui habitant cum eis.

WLC 5 הָרְפָאִ֥ים יְחוֹלָ֑לוּ מִתַּ֥חַת מַ֝֗יִם וְשֹׁכְנֵיהֶֽם׃

KJV 6 Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.

VULC 6 Nudus est infernus coram illo,
et nullum est operimentum perditioni.

WLC 6 עָר֣וֹם שְׁא֣וֹל נֶגְדּ֑וֹ וְאֵ֥ין כְּ֝ס֗וּת לָֽאֲבַדּֽוֹן׃

KJV 7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

VULC 7 Qui extendit aquilonem super vacuum,
et appendit terram super nihilum.

WLC 7 נֹטֶ֣ה צָפ֣וֹן עַל־ תֹּ֑הוּ תֹּ֥לֶה אֶ֝֗רֶץ עַל־ בְּלִי־ מָֽה׃

KJV 8 He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.

VULC 8 Qui ligat aquas in nubibus suis,
ut non erumpant pariter deorsum.

WLC 8 צֹרֵֽר־ מַ֥יִם בְּעָבָ֑יו וְלֹא־ נִבְקַ֖ע עָנָ֣ן תַּחְתָּֽם׃

KJV 9 He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.

VULC 9 Qui tenet vultum solii sui,
et expandit super illud nebulam suam.

WLC 9 מְאַחֵ֥ז פְּנֵי־ כִסֵּ֑ה פַּרְשֵׁ֖ז עָלָ֣יו עֲנָנֽוֹ׃

KJV 10 He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.

VULC 10 Terminum circumdedit aquis,
usque dum finiantur lux et tenebræ.

WLC 10 חֹֽק־ חָ֭ג עַל־ פְּנֵי־ מָ֑יִם עַד־ תַּכְלִ֖ית א֣וֹר עִם־ חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃

KJV 11 The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.

VULC 11 Columnæ cæli contremiscunt,
et pavent ad nutum ejus.

WLC 11 עַמּוּדֵ֣י שָׁמַ֣יִם יְרוֹפָ֑פוּ וְ֝יִתְמְה֗וּ מִגַּעֲרָתֽוֹ׃

KJV 12 He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.

VULC 12 In fortitudine illius repente maria congregata sunt,
et prudentia ejus percussit superbum.

WLC 12 בְּ֭כֹחוֹ רָגַ֣ע הַיָּ֑ם מָ֣חַץ רָֽהַב׃

KJV 13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.

VULC 13 Spiritus ejus ornavit cælos,
et obstetricante manu ejus, eductus est coluber tortuosus.

WLC 13 בְּ֭רוּחוֹ שָׁמַ֣יִם שִׁפְרָ֑ה חֹֽלֲלָ֥ה יָ֝ד֗וֹ נָחָ֥שׁ בָּרִֽיחַ׃

KJV 14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?

VULC 14 Ecce hæc ex parte dicta sunt viarum ejus :
et cum vix parvam stillam sermonis ejus audierimus,
quis poterit tonitruum magnitudinis illius intueri ?]

WLC 14 הֶן־ אֵ֤לֶּה ׀ קְצ֬וֹת וּמַה־ שֵּׁ֣מֶץ דָּ֭בָר נִשְׁמַע־ בּ֑וֹ וְרַ֥עַם מִ֣י יִתְבּוֹנָֽן׃
