DRB ² Même à quoi m'aurait servi la force de leurs mains ? La vigueur est périe pour eux.

KJV ² Yea, whereto might the strength of their hands profit me, in whom old age was perished?

WLC ² גַּם־ כֹּ֣חַ יְ֭דֵיהֶם לָ֣מָּה לִּ֑י עָ֝לֵ֗ימוֹ אָ֣בַד כָּֽלַח׃

DRB ³ Desséchés par la disette et la faim, ils s'enfuient dans* les lieux arides, dès longtemps désolés et déserts ;

KJV ³ For want and famine they were solitary; fleeing into the wilderness in former time desolate and waste.

WLC ³ בְּחֶ֥סֶר וּבְכָפָ֗ן גַּ֫לְמ֥וּד הַֽעֹרְקִ֥ים צִיָּ֑ה אֶ֝֗מֶשׁ שׁוֹאָ֥ה וּמְשֹׁאָֽה׃

DRB ⁴ Ils cueillent le pourpier de mer parmi les broussailles, et, pour leur pain, la racine des genêts.

KJV ⁴ Who cut up mallows by the bushes, and juniper roots for their meat.

WLC ⁴ הַקֹּטְפִ֣ים מַלּ֣וּחַ עֲלֵי־ שִׂ֑יחַ וְשֹׁ֖רֶשׁ רְתָמִ֣ים לַחְמָֽם׃

DRB ⁵ Ils sont chassés du milieu [des hommes], (on crie après eux comme après un voleur,)

KJV ⁵ They were driven forth from among men, (they cried after them as after a thief;)

WLC ⁵ מִן־ גֵּ֥ו יְגֹרָ֑שׁוּ יָרִ֥יעוּ עָ֝לֵ֗ימוֹ כַּגַּנָּֽב׃

DRB ⁶ Pour demeurer dans des gorges affreuses, dans les trous de la terre et des rochers* ;

KJV ⁶ To dwell in the cliffs of the valleys, in caves of the earth, and in the rocks.

WLC ⁶ בַּעֲר֣וּץ נְחָלִ֣ים לִשְׁכֹּ֑ן חֹרֵ֖י עָפָ֣ר וְכֵפִֽים׃

DRB ⁷ Ils hurlent parmi les broussailles, ils se rassemblent sous les ronces :

KJV ⁷ Among the bushes they brayed; under the nettles they were gathered together.

WLC ⁷ בֵּין־ שִׂיחִ֥ים יִנְהָ֑קוּ תַּ֖חַת חָר֣וּל יְסֻפָּֽחוּ׃

DRB ⁸ Fils d'insensés, et fils de gens sans nom, ils sont chassés du pays.

KJV ⁸ They were children of fools, yea, children of base men: they were viler than the earth.

WLC ⁸ בְּֽנֵי־ נָ֭בָל גַּם־ בְּנֵ֣י בְלִי־ שֵׁ֑ם נִ֝כְּא֗וּ מִן־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃

DRB ⁹ Et maintenant, je suis leur chanson et je suis le sujet de leur entretien.

KJV ¹⁰ They abhor me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face.

WLC ¹⁰ תִּֽ֭עֲבוּנִי רָ֣חֲקוּ מֶ֑נִּי וּ֝מִפָּנַ֗י לֹא־ חָ֥שְׂכוּ רֹֽק׃

DRB ¹¹ Car Il a délié ma corde et m'a affligé : ils ont jeté loin [tout] frein devant moi.

KJV ¹¹ Because he hath loosed my cord, and afflicted me, they have also let loose the bridle before me.

WLC ¹¹ כִּֽי־ פִ֭תַּח וַיְעַנֵּ֑נִי וְ֝רֶ֗סֶן מִפָּנַ֥י שִׁלֵּֽחוּ׃

DRB ¹² Cette jeune engeance se lève à ma droite ; ils poussent mes pieds et préparent contre moi leur chemin pernicieux ;

KJV ¹² Upon my right hand rise the youth; they push away my feet, and they raise up against me the ways of their destruction.

WLC ¹² עַל־ יָמִין֮ פִּרְחַ֪ח יָ֫ק֥וּמוּ רַגְלַ֥י שִׁלֵּ֑חוּ וַיָּסֹ֥לּוּ עָ֝לַ֗י אָרְח֥וֹת אֵידָֽם׃

DRB ¹³ Ils détruisent mon sentier, ils contribuent à ma calamité, sans que personne leur vienne en aide ;

KJV ¹³ They mar my path, they set forward my calamity, they have no helper.

WLC ¹³ נָתְס֗וּ נְֽתִיבָ֫תִ֥י לְהַוָּתִ֥י יֹעִ֑ילוּ לֹ֖א עֹזֵ֣ר לָֽמוֹ׃

DRB ¹⁴ Ils viennent comme par une large brèche, ils se précipitent* au milieu du fracas.

KJV ¹⁴ They came upon me as a wide breaking in of waters: in the desolation they rolled themselves upon me.

WLC ¹⁴ כְּפֶ֣רֶץ רָחָ֣ב יֶאֱתָ֑יוּ תַּ֥חַת שֹׁ֝אָ֗ה הִתְגַּלְגָּֽלוּ׃
