KJV 2 Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
VULC 2 Audite auditionem in terrore vocis ejus,
et sonum de ore illius procedentem.
WLC 2 שִׁמְע֤וּ שָׁמ֣וֹעַ בְּרֹ֣גֶז קֹל֑וֹ וְ֝הֶ֗גֶה מִפִּ֥יו יֵצֵֽא׃
KJV 3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
VULC 3 Subter omnes cælos ipse considerat,
et lumen illius super terminos terræ.
WLC 3 תַּֽחַת־ כָּל־ הַשָּׁמַ֥יִם יִשְׁרֵ֑הוּ וְ֝אוֹר֗וֹ עַל־ כַּנְפ֥וֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃
KJV 4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
VULC 4 Post eum rugiet sonitus ;
tonabit voce magnitudinis suæ :
et non investigabitur, cum audita fuerit vox ejus.
WLC 4 אַחֲרָ֤יו ׀ יִשְׁאַג־ ק֗וֹל יַ֭רְעֵם בְּק֣וֹל גְּאוֹנ֑וֹ וְלֹ֥א יְ֝עַקְּבֵ֗ם כִּֽי־ יִשָּׁמַ֥ע קוֹלֽוֹ׃
KJV 5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
VULC 5 Tonabit Deus in voce sua mirabiliter,
qui facit magna et inscrutabilia ;
WLC 5 יַרְעֵ֤ם אֵ֣ל בְּ֭קוֹלוֹ נִפְלָא֑וֹת עֹשֶׂ֥ה גְ֝דֹל֗וֹת וְלֹ֣א נֵדָֽע׃
KJV 6 For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

KJV 7 He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

ut noverint singuli opera sua.
WLC 7 בְּיַד־ כָּל־ אָדָ֥ם יַחְתּ֑וֹם לָ֝דַ֗עַת כָּל־ אַנְשֵׁ֥י מַעֲשֵֽׂהוּ׃
KJV 8 Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
VULC 8 Ingredietur bestia latibulum,
et in antro suo morabitur.
WLC 8 וַתָּבֹ֣א חַיָּ֣ה בְמוֹ־ אָ֑רֶב וּבִמְע֖וֹנֹתֶ֣יהָ תִשְׁכֹּֽן׃
KJV 9 Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
VULC 9 Ab interioribus egredietur tempestas,
et ab Arcturo frigus.
WLC 9 מִן־ הַ֭חֶדֶר תָּב֣וֹא סוּפָ֑ה וּֽמִמְּזָרִ֥ים קָרָֽה׃
KJV 10 By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

et rursum latissimæ funduntur aquæ.
WLC 10 מִנִּשְׁמַת־ אֵ֥ל יִתֶּן־ קָ֑רַח וְרֹ֖חַב מַ֣יִם בְּמוּצָֽק׃
KJV 11 Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
VULC 11 Frumentum desiderat nubes,
et nubes spargunt lumen suum.
WLC 11 אַף־ בְּ֭רִי יַטְרִ֣יחַ עָ֑ב יָ֝פִ֗יץ עֲנַ֣ן אוֹרֽוֹ׃
KJV 12 And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
VULC 12 Quæ lustrant per circuitum,
quocumque eas voluntas gubernantis duxerit,
ad omne quod præceperit illis super faciem orbis terrarum :
WLC 12 וְה֤וּא מְסִבּ֨וֹת ׀ מִתְהַפֵּ֣ךְ לְפָעֳלָ֑ם כֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְצַוֵּ֓ם ׀ עַל־ פְּנֵ֖י תֵבֵ֣ל אָֽרְצָה׃
KJV 13 He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
VULC 13 sive in una tribu, sive in terra sua,
sive in quocumque loco misericordiæ suæ
eas jusserit inveniri.
WLC 13 אִם־ לְשֵׁ֥בֶט אִם־ לְאַרְצ֑וֹ אִם־ לְ֝חֶ֗סֶד יַמְצִאֵֽהוּ׃
KJV 14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

sta, et considera mirabilia Dei.
WLC 14 הַאֲזִ֣ינָה זֹּ֣את אִיּ֑וֹב עֲ֝מֹ֗ד וְהִתְבּוֹנֵ֤ן ׀ נִפְלְא֬וֹת אֵֽל׃
KJV 15 Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
VULC 15 Numquid scis quando præceperit Deus pluviis,
ut ostenderent lucem nubium ejus ?
WLC 15 הֲ֭תֵדַע בְּשׂוּם־ אֱל֣וֹהַּ עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם וְ֝הוֹפִ֗יעַ א֣וֹר עֲנָנֽוֹ׃
KJV 16 Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
VULC 16 Numquid nosti semitas nubium magnas,
et perfectas scientias ?
WLC 16 הֲ֭תֵדַע עַל־ מִפְלְשֵׂי־ עָ֑ב מִ֝פְלְא֗וֹת תְּמִ֣ים דֵּעִֽים׃
KJV 17 How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
VULC 17 Nonne vestimenta tua calida sunt,
cum perflata fuerit terra austro ?
WLC 17 אֲשֶׁר־ בְּגָדֶ֥יךָ חַמִּ֑ים בְּהַשְׁקִ֥ט אֶ֝֗רֶץ מִדָּרֽוֹם׃
KJV 18 Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
VULC 18 Tu forsitan cum eo fabricatus es cælos,
qui solidissimi quasi ære fusi sunt.
WLC 18 תַּרְקִ֣יעַ עִ֭מּוֹ לִשְׁחָקִ֑ים חֲ֝זָקִ֗ים כִּרְאִ֥י מוּצָֽק׃
KJV 19 Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
VULC 19 Ostende nobis quid dicamus illi :
nos quippe involvimur tenebris.
WLC 19 ה֭וֹדִיעֵנוּ מַה־ נֹּ֣אמַר ל֑וֹ לֹ֥א־ נַ֝עֲרֹ֗ךְ מִפְּנֵי־ חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃
KJV 20 Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
VULC 20 Quis narrabit ei quæ loquor ?
etiam si locutus fuerit homo, devorabitur.
WLC 20 הַֽיְסֻפַּר־ ל֭וֹ כִּ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר אִֽם־ אָ֥מַר אִ֝֗ישׁ כִּ֣י יְבֻלָּֽע׃
KJV 21 And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
VULC 21 At nunc non vident lucem :
subito aër cogetur in nubes,
et ventus transiens fugabit eas.
WLC 21 וְעַתָּ֤ה ׀ לֹ֘א רָ֤אוּ א֗וֹר בָּהִ֣יר ה֭וּא בַּשְּׁחָקִ֑ים וְר֥וּחַ עָ֝בְרָ֗ה וַֽתְּטַהֲרֵֽם׃
KJV 22 Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
VULC 22 Ab aquilone aurum venit,
et ad Deum formidolosa laudatio.
WLC 22 מִ֭צָּפוֹן זָהָ֣ב יֶֽאֱתֶ֑ה עַל־ אֱ֝ל֗וֹהַּ נ֣וֹרָא הֽוֹד׃
KJV 23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

magnus fortitudine, et judicio, et justitia :
et enarrari non potest.

KJV 24 Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.

KJV 1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

WLC 1 וַיַּֽעַן־ יְהוָ֣ה אֶת־ אִ֭יּוֹב וַיֹּאמַֽר׃
KJV 2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

sermonibus imperitis ?
WLC 2 מִ֤י זֶ֨ה ׀ מַחְשִׁ֖יךְ עֵצָ֥ה בְמִלִּ֗ין בְּֽלִי־ דָֽעַת׃
KJV 3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
VULC 3 Accinge sicut vir lumbos tuos :
interrogabo te, et responde mihi.
WLC 3 אֱזָר־ נָ֣א כְגֶ֣בֶר חֲלָצֶ֑יךָ וְ֝אֶשְׁאָלְךָ֗ וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃
KJV 4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
VULC 4 Ubi eras quando ponebam fundamenta terræ ?
indica mihi, si habes intelligentiam.
WLC 4 אֵיפֹ֣ה הָ֭יִיתָ בְּיָסְדִי־ אָ֑רֶץ הַ֝גֵּ֗ד אִם־ יָדַ֥עְתָּ בִינָֽה׃
KJV 5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
VULC 5 Quis posuit mensuras ejus, si nosti ?
vel quis tetendit super eam lineam ?
WLC 5 מִי־ שָׂ֣ם מְ֭מַדֶּיהָ כִּ֣י תֵדָ֑ע א֤וֹ מִֽי־ נָטָ֖ה עָלֶ֣יהָ קָּֽו׃
KJV 6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
VULC 6 Super quo bases illius solidatæ sunt ?
aut quis demisit lapidem angularem ejus,
WLC 6 עַל־ מָ֭ה אֲדָנֶ֣יהָ הָטְבָּ֑עוּ א֥וֹ מִֽי־ יָ֝רָ֗ה אֶ֣בֶן פִּנָּתָֽהּ׃
KJV 7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
VULC 7 cum me laudarent simul astra matutina,
et jubilarent omnes filii Dei ?
WLC 7 בְּרָן־ יַ֭חַד כּ֣וֹכְבֵי בֹ֑קֶר וַ֝יָּרִ֗יעוּ כָּל־ בְּנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִֽים׃
KJV 8 Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?
VULC 8 Quis conclusit ostiis mare,
quando erumpebat quasi de vulva procedens ;
WLC 8 וַיָּ֣סֶךְ בִּדְלָתַ֣יִם יָ֑ם בְּ֝גִיח֗וֹ מֵרֶ֥חֶם יֵצֵֽא׃
KJV 9 When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,
VULC 9 cum ponerem nubem vestimentum ejus,
et caligine illud quasi pannis infantiæ obvolverem ?
WLC 9 בְּשׂוּמִ֣י עָנָ֣ן לְבֻשׁ֑וֹ וַ֝עֲרָפֶ֗ל חֲתֻלָּתֽוֹ׃
KJV 10 And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,
VULC 10 Circumdedi illud terminis meis,
et posui vectem et ostia,
WLC 10 וָאֶשְׁבֹּ֣ר עָלָ֣יו חֻקִּ֑י וָֽ֝אָשִׂ֗ים בְּרִ֣יחַ וּדְלָתָֽיִם׃
KJV 11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
VULC 11 et dixi : Usque huc venies, et non procedes amplius,
et hic confringes tumentes fluctus tuos.
WLC 11 וָאֹמַ֗ר עַד־ פֹּ֣ה תָ֭בוֹא וְלֹ֣א תֹסִ֑יף וּפֹ֥א־ יָ֝שִׁ֗ית בִּגְא֥וֹן גַּלֶּֽיךָ׃
KJV 12 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;
VULC 12 Numquid post ortum tuum præcepisti diluculo,
et ostendisti auroræ locum suum ?
WLC 12 הְֽ֭מִיָּמֶיךָ צִוִּ֣יתָ בֹּ֑קֶר מְקֹמֽוֹ׃
KJV 13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
VULC 13 Et tenuisti concutiens extrema terræ,
et excussisti impios ex ea ?
WLC 13 לֶ֭אֱחֹז בְּכַנְפ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ וְיִנָּעֲר֖וּ רְשָׁים מִמֶּֽנָּה׃
KJV 14 It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.
VULC 14 Restituetur ut lutum signaculum,
et stabit sicut vestimentum :
WLC 14 תִּ֭תְהַפֵּךְ כְּחֹ֣מֶר חוֹתָ֑ם וְ֝יִֽתְיַצְּב֗וּ כְּמ֣וֹ לְבֽוּשׁ׃
KJV 15 And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.
VULC 15 auferetur ab impiis lux sua,
et brachium excelsum confringetur.
WLC 15 וְיִמָּנַ֣ע מֵרְשָׁים אוֹרָ֑ם וּזְר֥וֹעַ רָ֝מָ֗ה תִּשָּׁבֵֽר׃
KJV 16 Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?
VULC 16 Numquid ingressus es profunda maris,
et in novissimis abyssi deambulasti ?
WLC 16 הֲ֭בָאתָ עַד־ נִבְכֵי־ יָ֑ם וּבְחֵ֥קֶר תְּ֝ה֗וֹם הִתְהַלָּֽכְתָּ׃
KJV 17 Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?
VULC 17 Numquid apertæ sunt tibi portæ mortis,
et ostia tenebrosa vidisti ?
WLC 17 הֲנִגְל֣וּ לְ֭ךָ שַׁעֲרֵי־ מָ֑וֶת וְשַׁעֲרֵ֖י צַלְמָ֣וֶת תִּרְאֶֽה׃
KJV 18 Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.
VULC 18 Numquid considerasti latitudinem terræ ?
indica mihi, si nosti, omnia :
WLC 18 הִ֭תְבֹּנַנְתָּ עַד־ רַחֲבֵי־ אָ֑רֶץ הַ֝גֵּ֗ד אִם־ יָדַ֥עְתָּ כֻלָּֽהּ׃
KJV 19 Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,

et tenebrarum quis locus sit :
WLC 19 אֵי־ זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ יִשְׁכָּן־ א֑וֹר וְ֝חֹ֗שֶׁךְ אֵי־ זֶ֥ה מְקֹמֽוֹ׃
KJV 20 That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?
VULC 20 ut ducas unumquodque ad terminos suos,
et intelligas semitas domus ejus.
WLC 20 כִּ֣י תִ֭קָּחֶנּוּ אֶל־ גְּבוּל֑וֹ וְכִֽי־ תָ֝בִ֗ין נְתִיב֥וֹת בֵּיתֽוֹ׃
KJV 21 Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?
VULC 21 Sciebas tunc quod nasciturus esses,
et numerum dierum tuorum noveras ?
WLC 21 יָ֭דַעְתָּ כִּי־ אָ֣ז תִּוָּלֵ֑ד וּמִסְפַּ֖ר יָמֶ֣יךָ רַבִּֽים׃
KJV 22 Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
VULC 22 Numquid ingressus es thesauros nivis,
aut thesauros grandinis aspexisti,
WLC 22 הֲ֭בָאתָ אֶל־ אֹצְר֣וֹת שָׁ֑לֶג וְאֹצְר֖וֹת בָּרָ֣ד תִּרְאֶֽה׃
KJV 23 Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
VULC 23 quæ præparavi in tempus hostis,
in diem pugnæ et belli ?
WLC 23 אֲשֶׁר־ חָשַׂ֥כְתִּי לְעֶת־ צָ֑ר לְי֥וֹם קְ֝רָ֗ב וּמִלְחָמָֽה׃
KJV 24 By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?
VULC 24 Per quam viam spargitur lux,
dividitur æstus super terram ?
WLC 24 אֵי־ זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ יֵחָ֣לֶק א֑וֹר יָפֵ֖ץ קָדִ֣ים עֲלֵי־ אָֽרֶץ׃
KJV 25 Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;
VULC 25 Quis dedit vehementissimo imbri cursum,
et viam sonantis tonitrui,
WLC 25 מִֽי־ פִלַּ֣ג לַשֶּׁ֣טֶף תְּעָלָ֑ה וְ֝דֶ֗רֶךְ לַחֲזִ֥יז קֹלֽוֹת׃
KJV 26 To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;
VULC 26 ut plueret super terram absque homine in deserto,
ubi nullus mortalium commoratur ;
WLC 26 לְ֭הַמְטִיר עַל־ אֶ֣רֶץ לֹא־ אִ֑ישׁ מִ֝דְבָּ֗ר לֹא־ אָדָ֥ם בּֽוֹ׃
KJV 27 To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?
VULC 27 ut impleret inviam et desolatam,
et produceret herbas virentes ?
WLC 27 לְהַשְׂבִּ֣יעַ שֹׁ֭אָה וּמְשֹׁאָ֑ה וּ֝לְהַצְמִ֗יחַ מֹ֣צָא דֶֽשֶׁא׃
KJV 28 Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
VULC 28 Quis est pluviæ pater ?
vel quis genuit stillas roris ?
WLC 28 הֲיֵשׁ־ לַמָּטָ֥ר אָ֑ב א֥וֹ מִי־ ה֝וֹלִ֗יד אֶגְלֵי־ טָֽל׃
KJV 29 Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?
VULC 29 De cujus utero egressa est glacies ?
et gelu de cælo quis genuit ?
WLC 29 מִבֶּ֣טֶן מִ֭י יָצָ֣א הַקָּ֑רַח וּכְפֹ֥ר שָׁ֝מַיִם מִ֣י יְלָדֽוֹ׃
KJV 30 The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.
VULC 30 In similitudinem lapidis aquæ durantur,
et superficies abyssi constringitur.
WLC 30 כָּ֭אֶבֶן מַ֣יִם יִתְחַבָּ֑אוּ וּפְנֵ֥י תְ֝ה֗וֹם יִתְלַכָּֽדוּ׃
KJV 31 Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
VULC 31 Numquid conjungere valebis micantes stellas Pleiadas,
aut gyrum Arcturi poteris dissipare ?
WLC 31 הַֽ֭תְקַשֵּׁר מַעֲדַנּ֣וֹת כִּימָ֑ה אֽוֹ־ מֹשְׁכ֖וֹת כְּסִ֣יל תְּפַתֵּֽחַ׃
KJV 32 Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?
VULC 32 Numquid producis luciferum in tempore suo,
et vesperum super filios terræ consurgere facis ?
WLC 32 הֲתֹצִ֣יא מַזָּר֣וֹת בְּעִתּ֑וֹ וְ֝עַ֗יִשׁ עַל־ בָּנֶ֥יהָ תַנְחֵֽם׃
KJV 33 Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
VULC 33 Numquid nosti ordinem cæli,
et pones rationem ejus in terra ?
WLC 33 הֲ֭יָדַעְתָּ חֻקּ֣וֹת שָׁמָ֑יִם אִם־ תָּשִׂ֖ים מִשְׁטָר֣וֹ בָאָֽרֶץ׃
KJV 34 Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?
VULC 34 Numquid elevabis in nebula vocem tuam,
et impetus aquarum operiet te ?
WLC 34 הֲתָרִ֣ים לָעָ֣ב קוֹלֶ֑ךָ וְֽשִׁפְעַת־ מַ֥יִם תְּכַסֶּֽךָּ׃
KJV 35 Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are?
VULC 35 Numquid mittes fulgura, et ibunt,
et revertentia dicent tibi : Adsumus ?
WLC 35 הַֽתְשַׁלַּ֣ח בְּרָקִ֣ים וְיֵלֵ֑כוּ וְיֹאמְר֖וּ לְךָ֣ הִנֵּֽנוּ׃
KJV 36 Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?
VULC 36 Quis posuit in visceribus hominis sapientiam ?
vel quis dedit gallo intelligentiam ?
WLC 36 מִי־ שָׁ֭ת בַּטֻּח֣וֹת חָכְמָ֑ה א֤וֹ מִֽי־ נָתַ֖ן לַשֶּׂ֣כְוִי בִינָֽה׃
KJV 37 Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,
