WLC ² מִ֤י זֶ֨ה ׀ מַחְשִׁ֖יךְ עֵצָ֥ה בְמִלִּ֗ין בְּֽלִי־ דָֽעַת׃

KJV ³ Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

NEG ³ Ceins tes reins comme un vaillant homme; Je t'interrogerai, et tu m'instruiras.

WLC ³ אֱזָר־ נָ֣א כְגֶ֣בֶר חֲלָצֶ֑יךָ וְ֝אֶשְׁאָלְךָ֗ וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃

KJV ⁴ Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

NEG ⁴ Où étais-tu quand je fondais la terre? Dis-le, si tu as de l'intelligence.

WLC ⁴ אֵיפֹ֣ה הָ֭יִיתָ בְּיָסְדִי־ אָ֑רֶץ הַ֝גֵּ֗ד אִם־ יָדַ֥עְתָּ בִינָֽה׃

KJV ⁵ Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

NEG ⁵ Qui en a fixé les dimensions, le sais-tu? Ou qui a étendu sur elle le cordeau?

WLC ⁵ מִי־ שָׂ֣ם מְ֭מַדֶּיהָ כִּ֣י תֵדָ֑ע א֤וֹ מִֽי־ נָטָ֖ה עָלֶ֣יהָ קָּֽו׃

KJV ⁶ Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

NEG ⁶ Sur quoi ses bases sont-elles appuyées? Ou qui en a posé la pierre angulaire,

WLC ⁶ עַל־ מָ֭ה אֲדָנֶ֣יהָ הָטְבָּ֑עוּ א֥וֹ מִֽי־ יָ֝רָ֗ה אֶ֣בֶן פִּנָּתָֽהּ׃

KJV ⁷ When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

NEG ⁷ Alors que les étoiles du matin éclataient en chants d'allégresse, Et que tous les fils de Dieu poussaient des cris de joie?

WLC ⁷ בְּרָן־ יַ֭חַד כּ֣וֹכְבֵי בֹ֑קֶר וַ֝יָּרִ֗יעוּ כָּל־ בְּנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִֽים׃

KJV ⁸ Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?

NEG ⁸ Qui a fermé la mer avec des portes, Quand elle s'élança du sein maternel;

WLC ⁸ וַיָּ֣סֶךְ בִּדְלָתַ֣יִם יָ֑ם בְּ֝גִיח֗וֹ מֵרֶ֥חֶם יֵצֵֽא׃

KJV ⁹ When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,

NEG ⁹ Quand je fis de la nuée son vêtement, Et de l'obscurité ses langes;

WLC ⁹ בְּשׂוּמִ֣י עָנָ֣ן לְבֻשׁ֑וֹ וַ֝עֲרָפֶ֗ל חֲתֻלָּתֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹⁰ And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,

NEG ¹⁰ Quand je lui imposai ma loi, Et que je lui mis des barrières et des portes;

WLC ¹⁰ וָאֶשְׁבֹּ֣ר עָלָ֣יו חֻקִּ֑י וָֽ֝אָשִׂ֗ים בְּרִ֣יחַ וּדְלָתָֽיִם׃

KJV ¹¹ And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

NEG ¹¹ Quand je dis: Tu viendras jusqu'ici, tu n'iras pas au-delà; Ici s'arrêtera l'orgueil de tes flots?

WLC ¹¹ וָאֹמַ֗ר עַד־ פֹּ֣ה תָ֭בוֹא וְלֹ֣א תֹסִ֑יף וּפֹ֥א־ יָ֝שִׁ֗ית בִּגְא֥וֹן גַּלֶּֽיךָ׃

KJV ¹² Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;

NEG ¹² Depuis que tu existes, as-tu commandé au matin? As-tu montré sa place à l'aurore,

WLC ¹² הְֽ֭מִיָּמֶיךָ צִוִּ֣יתָ בֹּ֑קֶר מְקֹמֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹³ That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

NEG ¹³ Pour qu'elle saisisse les extrémités de la terre, Et que les méchants en soient secoués;

WLC ¹³ לֶ֭אֱחֹז בְּכַנְפ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ וְיִנָּעֲר֖וּ רְשָׁים מִמֶּֽנָּה׃

KJV ¹⁴ It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.

NEG ¹⁴ Pour que la terre se transforme comme l'argile qui reçoit une empreinte, Et qu'elle soit parée comme d'un vêtement;

WLC ¹⁴ תִּ֭תְהַפֵּךְ כְּחֹ֣מֶר חוֹתָ֑ם וְ֝יִֽתְיַצְּב֗וּ כְּמ֣וֹ לְבֽוּשׁ׃

KJV ¹⁵ And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.

WLC ¹⁵ וְיִמָּנַ֣ע מֵרְשָׁים אוֹרָ֑ם וּזְר֥וֹעַ רָ֝מָ֗ה תִּשָּׁבֵֽר׃

KJV ¹⁶ Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?

NEG ¹⁶ As-tu pénétré jusqu'aux sources de la mer? T'es-tu promené dans les profondeurs de l'abîme?

WLC ¹⁶ הֲ֭בָאתָ עַד־ נִבְכֵי־ יָ֑ם וּבְחֵ֥קֶר תְּ֝ה֗וֹם הִתְהַלָּֽכְתָּ׃

KJV ¹⁷ Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

NEG ¹⁷ Les portes de la mort t'ont-elles été ouvertes? As-tu vu les portes de l'ombre de la mort?

WLC ¹⁷ הֲנִגְל֣וּ לְ֭ךָ שַׁעֲרֵי־ מָ֑וֶת וְשַׁעֲרֵ֖י צַלְמָ֣וֶת תִּרְאֶֽה׃

KJV ¹⁸ Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.

NEG ¹⁸ As-tu embrassé du regard l'étendue de la terre? Parle, si tu sais toutes ces choses.

WLC ¹⁸ הִ֭תְבֹּנַנְתָּ עַד־ רַחֲבֵי־ אָ֑רֶץ הַ֝גֵּ֗ד אִם־ יָדַ֥עְתָּ כֻלָּֽהּ׃

KJV ¹⁹ Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,

NEG ¹⁹ Où est le chemin qui conduit au séjour de la lumière? Et les ténèbres, où ont-elles leur demeure?

WLC ¹⁹ אֵי־ זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ יִשְׁכָּן־ א֑וֹר וְ֝חֹ֗שֶׁךְ אֵי־ זֶ֥ה מְקֹמֽוֹ׃

KJV ²⁰ That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?

NEG ²⁰ Peux-tu les saisir à leur limite, Et connaître les sentiers de leur habitation?

WLC ²⁰ כִּ֣י תִ֭קָּחֶנּוּ אֶל־ גְּבוּל֑וֹ וְכִֽי־ תָ֝בִ֗ין נְתִיב֥וֹת בֵּיתֽוֹ׃

KJV ²¹ Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?

NEG ²¹ Tu le sais, car alors tu étais né, Et le nombre de tes jours est grand!

WLC ²¹ יָ֭דַעְתָּ כִּי־ אָ֣ז תִּוָּלֵ֑ד וּמִסְפַּ֖ר יָמֶ֣יךָ רַבִּֽים׃

KJV ²² Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,

NEG ²² Es-tu parvenu jusqu'aux amas de neige? As-tu vu les dépôts de grêle,

WLC ²² הֲ֭בָאתָ אֶל־ אֹצְר֣וֹת שָׁ֑לֶג וְאֹצְר֖וֹת בָּרָ֣ד תִּרְאֶֽה׃

KJV ²³ Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?

NEG ²³ Que je tiens en réserve pour les temps de détresse, Pour les jours de guerre et de bataille?

WLC ²³ אֲשֶׁר־ חָשַׂ֥כְתִּי לְעֶת־ צָ֑ר לְי֥וֹם קְ֝רָ֗ב וּמִלְחָמָֽה׃

KJV ²⁴ By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?

NEG ²⁴ Par quel chemin la lumière se divise-t-elle, Et le vent d'orient se répand-il sur la terre?

WLC ²⁴ אֵי־ זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ יֵחָ֣לֶק א֑וֹר יָפֵ֖ץ קָדִ֣ים עֲלֵי־ אָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ²⁵ Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;

WLC ²⁵ מִֽי־ פִלַּ֣ג לַשֶּׁ֣טֶף תְּעָלָ֑ה וְ֝דֶ֗רֶךְ לַחֲזִ֥יז קֹלֽוֹת׃

KJV ²⁶ To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;

WLC ²⁶ לְ֭הַמְטִיר עַל־ אֶ֣רֶץ לֹא־ אִ֑ישׁ מִ֝דְבָּ֗ר לֹא־ אָדָ֥ם בּֽוֹ׃

KJV ²⁷ To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?

WLC ²⁷ לְהַשְׂבִּ֣יעַ שֹׁ֭אָה וּמְשֹׁאָ֑ה וּ֝לְהַצְמִ֗יחַ מֹ֣צָא דֶֽשֶׁא׃

KJV ²⁸ Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?

WLC ²⁸ הֲיֵשׁ־ לַמָּטָ֥ר אָ֑ב א֥וֹ מִי־ ה֝וֹלִ֗יד אֶגְלֵי־ טָֽל׃

KJV ²⁹ Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?

KJV ³⁰ The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

KJV ³¹ Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

WLC ³¹ הַֽ֭תְקַשֵּׁר מַעֲדַנּ֣וֹת כִּימָ֑ה אֽוֹ־ מֹשְׁכ֖וֹת כְּסִ֣יל תְּפַתֵּֽחַ׃

KJV ³² Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

NEG ³² Fais-tu paraître en leur temps les signes du zodiaque, Et conduis-tu la Grande Ourse avec ses petits?

WLC ³² הֲתֹצִ֣יא מַזָּר֣וֹת בְּעִתּ֑וֹ וְ֝עַ֗יִשׁ עַל־ בָּנֶ֥יהָ תַנְחֵֽם׃

KJV ³³ Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?

WLC ³³ הֲ֭יָדַעְתָּ חֻקּ֣וֹת שָׁמָ֑יִם אִם־ תָּשִׂ֖ים מִשְׁטָר֣וֹ בָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ³⁴ Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?

KJV ³⁵ Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are?

KJV ³⁶ Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?

KJV ³⁷ Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,

KJV ³⁸ When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?

KJV ³⁹ Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,

WLC ³⁹ הֲתָצ֣וּד לְלָבִ֣יא טָ֑רֶף וְחַיַּ֖ת כְּפִירִ֣ים תְּמַלֵּֽא׃

KJV ⁴⁰ When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?

WLC ⁴⁰ כִּי־ יָשֹׁ֥חוּ בַמְּעוֹנ֑וֹת יֵשְׁב֖וּ בַסֻּכָּ֣ה לְמוֹ־ אָֽרֶב׃

KJV ⁴¹ Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.

WLC ⁴¹ מִ֤י יָכִ֥ין לָעֹרֵ֗ב צֵ֫יד֥וֹ כִּֽי־ אֶל־ אֵ֣ל יְשַׁוֵּ֑עוּ יִ֝תְע֗וּ לִבְלִי־ אֹֽכֶל׃
