BAN ¹ Et l'Eternel fit venir un grand poisson pour engloutir Jonas.

KJV ¹ Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,

WLC ¹ וַיְמַ֤ן יְהוָה֙ דָּ֣ג גָּד֔וֹל לִבְלֹ֖עַ אֶת־ יוֹנָ֑ה וַיְהִ֤י יוֹנָה֙ בִּמְעֵ֣י הַדָּ֔ג שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה יָמִ֖ים וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה לֵילֽוֹת׃

BAN ² Et Jonas fut dans les entrailles du poisson trois jours et trois nuits ; et des entrailles du poisson, Jonas fit requête à l'Eternel son Dieu.

KJV ² And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

WLC ² וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֣ל יוֹנָ֔ה אֶל־ יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהָ֑יו מִמְּעֵ֖י הַדָּגָֽה׃

BAN ³ Il dit : J'ai appelé l'Eternel dans ma détresse, et il m'a répondu ; du sein du sépulcre, j'ai crié au secours : tu as entendu ma voix.

KJV ³ For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

WLC ³ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר קָ֠רָאתִי מִצָּ֥רָה לִ֛י אֶל־ יְהוָ֖ה וַֽיַּעֲנֵ֑נִי מִבֶּ֧טֶן שְׁא֛וֹל שִׁוַּ֖עְתִּי שָׁמַ֥עְתָּ קוֹלִֽי׃

BAN ⁴ Tu m'as jeté dans l'abîme, au coeur des mers, et l'onde m'environnait. Tous tes flots et tes vagues avaient passé sur moi.

KJV ⁴ Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

WLC ⁴ וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵ֤נִי מְצוּלָה֙ בִּלְבַ֣ב יַמִּ֔ים וְנָהָ֖ר יְסֹבְבֵ֑נִי כָּל־ מִשְׁבָּרֶ֥יךָ וְגַלֶּ֖יךָ עָלַ֥י עָבָֽרוּ׃

BAN ⁵ Et moi j'avais dit : Je suis chassé de devant tes yeux. Si je revoyais seulement ton saint temple !

KJV ⁵ The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.

WLC ⁵ וַאֲנִ֣י אָמַ֔רְתִּי נִגְרַ֖שְׁתִּי מִנֶּ֣גֶד עֵינֶ֑יךָ אַ֚ךְ אוֹסִ֣יף לְהַבִּ֔יט אֶל־ הֵיכַ֖ל קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃

BAN ⁶ Les eaux m'avaient environné jusqu'à l'âme, l'abîme m'entourait. L'algue baignait ma tête.

KJV ⁶ I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

WLC ⁶ אֲפָפ֤וּנִי מַ֙יִם֙ עַד־ נֶ֔פֶשׁ תְּה֖וֹם יְסֹבְבֵ֑נִי ס֖וּף חָב֥וּשׁ לְרֹאשִֽׁי׃

BAN ⁷ J'étais descendu jusqu'aux racines des montagnes. La terre avait ses verrous tirés sur moi pour toujours ; et tu as fait remonter ma vie de la fosse, Eternel, mon Dieu !

KJV ⁷ When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.

WLC ⁷ לְקִצְבֵ֤י הָרִים֙ יָרַ֔דְתִּי הָאָ֛רֶץ בְּרִחֶ֥יהָ בַעֲדִ֖י לְעוֹלָ֑ם וַתַּ֧עַל מִשַּׁ֛חַת חַיַּ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽי׃

BAN ⁸ Quand mon âme défaillait en moi, je me suis souvenu de l'Eternel, et ma prière est parvenue jusqu'à toi, dans ton saint temple.

KJV ⁸ They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

WLC ⁸ בְּהִתְעַטֵּ֤ף עָלַי֙ נַפְשִׁ֔י אֶת־ יְהוָ֖ה זָכָ֑רְתִּי וַתָּב֤וֹא אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ תְּפִלָּתִ֔י אֶל־ הֵיכַ֖ל קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃

BAN ⁹ Ceux qui s'adonnent à ce qui n'est que néant se privent de la grâce.

KJV ⁹ But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

WLC ⁹ מְשַׁמְּרִ֖ים הַבְלֵי־ שָׁ֑וְא חַסְדָּ֖ם יַעֲזֹֽבוּ׃

BAN ¹⁰ Mais moi je t'offrirai mon sacrifice, en disant ta louange. Ce que j'ai voué, je le rendrai. Le salut est à l'Eternel. Et l'Eternel parla au poisson, qui vomit Jonas sur le sec.

KJV ¹⁰ And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

WLC ¹⁰ וַאֲנִ֗י בְּק֤וֹל תּוֹדָה֙ אֶזְבְּחָה־ לָּ֔ךְ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָדַ֖רְתִּי אֲשַׁלֵּ֑מָה יְשׁוּעָ֖תָה לַיהוָֽה׃

WLC ¹¹ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוָ֖ה לַדָּ֑ג וַיָּקֵ֥א אֶת־ יוֹנָ֖ה אֶל־ הַיַּבָּשָֽׁה׃
