BAN ² et aux rois qui étaient au nord dans la montagne et dans la plaine, au sud de Kinnaroth, et dans le bas pays, et sur les hauteurs de Dor du côté de l'occident,

KJV ² And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,

WLC ² וְֽאֶל־ הַמְּלָכִ֞ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר מִצְּפ֗וֹן בָּהָ֧ר וּבָעֲרָבָ֛ה נֶ֥גֶב כִּֽנֲר֖וֹת וּבַשְּׁפֵלָ֑ה וּבְנָפ֥וֹת דּ֖וֹר מִיָּֽם׃

BAN ³ aux Cananéens de l'orient et de l'occident, aux Amorrhéens, aux Héthiens, aux Phéréziens, aux Jébusiens sur la montagne, aux Héviens du pied de l'Hermon dans le pays de Mitspa.

KJV ³ And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.

WLC ³ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ מִמִּזְרָ֣ח וּמִיָּ֔ם וְהָאֱמֹרִ֧י וְהַחִתִּ֛י וְהַפְּרִזִּ֥י וְהַיְבוּסִ֖י בָּהָ֑ר וְהַֽחִוִּי֙ תַּ֣חַת חֶרְמ֔וֹן בְּאֶ֖רֶץ הַמִּצְפָּֽה׃

BAN ⁴ Et ils sortirent, eux et toutes leurs armées avec eux, multitude immense, égale au sable qui est au bord de la mer, avec des chevaux et des chars en fort grand nombre.

KJV ⁴ And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

WLC ⁴ וַיֵּצְא֣וּ הֵ֗ם וְכָל־ מַֽחֲנֵיהֶם֙ עִמָּ֔ם עַם־ רָ֕ב כַּח֛וֹל אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־ שְׂפַת־ הַיָּ֖ם לָרֹ֑ב וְס֥וּס וָרֶ֖כֶב רַב־ מְאֹֽד׃

BAN ⁵ Et tous ces rois se trouvèrent au lieu assigné et vinrent camper ensemble près des eaux de Mérom, pour combattre avec Israël.

KJV ⁵ And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.

WLC ⁵ וַיִּוָּ֣עֲד֔וּ כֹּ֖ל הַמְּלָכִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ וַיַּחֲנ֤וּ יַחְדָּו֙ אֶל־ מֵ֣י מֵר֔וֹם לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם עִם־ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

BAN ⁶ Et l'Eternel dit à Josué : N'aie pas peur d'eux ; car demain, à cette heure-ci, je les livrerai tous transpercés devant Israël ; tu couperas les jarrets à leurs chevaux, et tu brûleras leurs chars.

KJV ⁶ And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.

WLC ⁶ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֣ה אֶל־ יְהוֹשֻׁעַ֮ אַל־ תִּירָ֣א מִפְּנֵיהֶם֒ כִּֽי־ מָחָ֞ר כָּעֵ֣ת הַזֹּ֗את אָנֹכִ֞י נֹתֵ֧ן אֶת־ כֻּלָּ֛ם חֲלָלִ֖ים לִפְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֶת־ סוּסֵיהֶ֣ם תְּעַקֵּ֔ר וְאֶת־ מַרְכְּבֹתֵיהֶ֖ם תִּשְׂרֹ֥ף בָּאֵֽשׁ׃

BAN ⁷ Et Josué et tous ses gens de guerre avec lui arrivèrent sur eux à l'improviste près des eaux de Mérom et fondirent sur eux.

KJV ⁷ So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.

WLC ⁷ וַיָּבֹ֣א יְהוֹשֻׁ֡עַ וְכָל־ עַם֩ הַמִּלְחָמָ֨ה עִמּ֧וֹ עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם עַל־ מֵ֥י מֵר֖וֹם פִּתְאֹ֑ם וַֽיִּפְּל֖וּ בָּהֶֽם׃

BAN ⁸ Et l'Eternel les livra entre les mains des Israélites, et ils les frappèrent et les poursuivirent jusqu'à Sidon la grande, et jusqu'à Misréphoth-Majim, et jusqu'à la vallée de Mitspé vers l'orient, et ils les frappèrent sans laisser écbapper personne.

KJV ⁸ And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.

WLC ⁸ וַיִּתְּנֵ֨ם יְהוָ֥ה בְּיַֽד־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ וַיַּכּוּם֒ וַֽיִּרְדְּפ֞וּם עַד־ צִיד֣וֹן רַבָּ֗ה וְעַד֙ מִשְׂרְפ֣וֹת מַ֔יִם וְעַד־ בִּקְעַ֥ת מִצְפֶּ֖ה מִזְרָ֑חָה וַיַּכֻּ֕ם עַד־ בִּלְתִּ֥י הִשְׁאִֽיר־ לָהֶ֖ם שָׂרִֽיד׃

BAN ⁹ Et Josué les traita comme l'Eternel le lui avait dit ; il coupa les jarrets à leurs chevaux et brûla leurs chars.

KJV ⁹ And Joshua did unto them as the LORD bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.

WLC ⁹ וַיַּ֤עַשׂ לָהֶם֙ יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר אָֽמַר־ ל֖וֹ יְהוָ֑ה אֶת־ סוּסֵיהֶ֣ם עִקֵּ֔ר וְאֶת־ מַרְכְּבֹתֵיהֶ֖ם שָׂרַ֥ף בָּאֵֽשׁ׃

BAN ¹⁰ Et en ce même temps, Josué revint et prit Hatsor et fit périr son roi par l'épée, car Hatsor était autrefois la capitale de tous ces royaumes.

KJV ¹⁰ And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.

WLC ¹⁰ וַיָּ֨שָׁב יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ בָּעֵ֤ת הַהִיא֙ וַיִּלְכֹּ֣ד אֶת־ חָצ֔וֹר וְאֶת־ מַלְכָּ֖הּ הִכָּ֣ה בֶחָ֑רֶב כִּֽי־ חָצ֣וֹר לְפָנִ֔ים הִ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ כָּל־ הַמַּמְלָכ֥וֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

BAN ¹¹ Et ils firent passer tous les êtres vivants qui s'y trouvaient au tranchant de l'épée, en les vouant à l'interdit ; aucun ne demeura de reste, et on brûla Hatsor.

KJV ¹¹ And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.

WLC ¹¹ וַ֠יַּכּוּ אֶת־ כָּל־ הַנֶּ֨פֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר־ בָּ֤הּ לְפִי־ חֶ֙רֶב֙ הַֽחֲרֵ֔ם לֹ֥א נוֹתַ֖ר כָּל־ נְשָׁמָ֑ה וְאֶת־ חָצ֖וֹר שָׂרַ֥ף בָּאֵֽשׁ׃

BAN ¹² Et Josué prit toutes les villes de ces rois et tous leurs rois, et il les voua à l'interdit et les fit passer au tranchant de l'épée, comme Moïse, serviteur de l'Eternel, l'avait ordonné.

KJV ¹² And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.

WLC ¹² וְֽאֶת־ כָּל־ עָרֵ֣י הַמְּלָכִֽים־ הָ֠אֵלֶּה וְֽאֶת־ כָּל־ מַלְכֵיהֶ֞ם לָכַ֧ד יְהוֹשֻׁ֛עַ וַיַּכֵּ֥ם לְפִי־ חֶ֖רֶב הֶחֱרִ֣ים אוֹתָ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוָּ֔ה מֹשֶׁ֖ה עֶ֥בֶד יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ¹³ Mais Israël ne brûla aucune des villes, situées sur les collines, si ce n'est Hatsor, la seule que Josué brulât.

KJV ¹³ But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.

WLC ¹³ רַ֣ק כָּל־ הֶעָרִ֗ים הָעֹֽמְדוֹת֙ עַל־ תִּלָּ֔ם לֹ֥א שְׂרָפָ֖ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל זוּלָתִ֛י אֶת־ חָצ֥וֹר לְבַדָּ֖הּ שָׂרַ֥ף יְהוֹשֻֽׁעַ׃

BAN ¹⁴ Et tout le butin de ces villes, et leur bétail, les fils d'Israël se le partagèrent ; mais ils firent passer au tranchant de l'épée tous les hommes jusqu'à leur entière extermination, n'épargnant personne.

KJV ¹⁴ And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.

WLC ¹⁴ וְ֠כֹל שְׁלַ֞ל הֶעָרִ֤ים הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ וְהַבְּהֵמָ֔ה בָּזְז֥וּ לָהֶ֖ם בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל רַ֣ק אֶֽת־ כָּל־ הָאָדָ֞ם הִכּ֣וּ לְפִי־ חֶ֗רֶב עַד־ הִשְׁמִדָם֙ אוֹתָ֔ם לֹ֥א הִשְׁאִ֖ירוּ כָּל־ נְשָׁמָֽה׃

BAN ¹⁵ Comme l'Eternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse, son serviteur, ainsi Moïse l'avait ordonné à Josué, et ainsi fit Josué ; il ne négligea aucun des ordres que l'Eternel avait donnés à Moïse.

KJV ¹⁵ As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.

WLC ¹⁵ כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ אֶת־ מֹשֶׁ֣ה עַבְדּ֔וֹ כֵּן־ צִוָּ֥ה מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶת־ יְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַ וְכֵן֙ עָשָׂ֣ה יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ לֹֽא־ הֵסִ֣יר דָּבָ֔ר מִכֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־ צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃

BAN ¹⁶ Et Josué prit tout ce pays-là, la montagne, tout le Midi, tout le district de Gossen, le bas pays, la plaine, la montagne d'Israël et son bas pays,

KJV ¹⁶ So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;

WLC ¹⁶ וַיִּקַּ֨ח יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ אֶת־ כָּל־ הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֗את הָהָ֤ר וְאֶת־ כָּל־ הַנֶּ֙גֶב֙ וְאֵת֙ כָּל־ אֶ֣רֶץ הַגֹּ֔שֶׁן וְאֶת־ הַשְּׁפֵלָ֖ה וְאֶת־ הָעֲרָבָ֑ה וְאֶת־ הַ֥ר יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וּשְׁפֵלָתֹֽה׃

BAN ¹⁷ depuis la montagne nue qui s'élève vers Séir, jusqu'à Baal-Gad, dans la vallée du Liban au pied du mont Hermon ; il prit tous leurs rois, les frappa et les fit mourir.

KJV ¹⁷ Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.

WLC ¹⁷ מִן־ הָהָ֤ר הֶֽחָלָק֙ הָעוֹלֶ֣ה שֵׂעִ֔יר וְעַד־ בַּ֤עַל גָּד֙ בְּבִקְעַ֣ת הַלְּבָנ֔וֹן תַּ֖חַת הַר־ חֶרְמ֑וֹן וְאֵ֤ת כָּל־ מַלְכֵיהֶם֙ לָכַ֔ד וַיַּכֵּ֖ם וַיְמִיתֵֽם׃

BAN ¹⁸ Et la guerre que fit Josué contre tous ces rois dura longtemps.

KJV ¹⁸ Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

WLC ¹⁸ יָמִ֣ים רַבִּ֗ים עָשָׂ֧ה יְהוֹשֻׁ֛עַ אֶת־ כָּל־ הַמְּלָכִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה מִלְחָמָֽה׃

BAN ¹⁹ Aucune ville ne traita avec les fils d'Israël, excepté les Héviens qui habitaient à Gabaon ; ils les prirent toutes de vive force.

KJV ¹⁹ There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.

WLC ¹⁹ לֹֽא־ הָיְתָ֣ה עִ֗יר אֲשֶׁ֤ר הִשְׁלִ֙ימָה֙ אֶל־ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בִּלְתִּ֥י הַחִוִּ֖י יֹשְׁבֵ֣י גִבְע֑וֹן אֶת־ הַכֹּ֖ל לָקְח֥וּ בַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

BAN ²⁰ Car cela venait de l'Eternel qu'ils affermissent leur coeur pour faire la guerre contre Israël, afin qu'il les vouât à l'interdit sans qu'il y eût de miséricorde pour eux, car c'était afin qu'il les détruisit, comme l'Eternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

KJV ²⁰ For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.

WLC ²⁰ כִּ֣י מֵאֵ֣ת יְהוָ֣ה ׀ הָיְתָ֡ה לְחַזֵּ֣ק אֶת־ לִבָּם֩ לִקְרַ֨את הַמִּלְחָמָ֤ה אֶת־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְמַ֣עַן הַֽחֲרִימָ֔ם לְבִלְתִּ֥י הֱיוֹת־ לָהֶ֖ם תְּחִנָּ֑ה כִּ֚י לְמַ֣עַן הַשְׁמִידָ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃

BAN ²¹ Et dans ce même temps, Josué vint et extermina les Anakim de la montagne, d'Hébron, de Débir, d'Anab et de toute la montagne de Juda et de toute la montagne d'Israël ; Josué les voua à l'interdit avec leurs villes.

KJV ²¹ And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.

WLC ²¹ וַיָּבֹ֨א יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֗יא וַיַּכְרֵ֤ת אֶת־ הָֽעֲנָקִים֙ מִן־ הָהָ֤ר מִן־ חֶבְרוֹן֙ מִן־ דְּבִ֣ר מִן־ עֲנָ֔ב וּמִכֹּל֙ הַ֣ר יְהוּדָ֔ה וּמִכֹּ֖ל הַ֣ר יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל עִם־ עָרֵיהֶ֖ם הֶחֱרִימָ֥ם יְהוֹשֻֽׁעַ׃

BAN ²² Il ne resta plus d'Anakim dans le pays des fils d'Israël ; il en resta seulement à Gaza, à Gath et à Asdod.

KJV ²² There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.

WLC ²² לֹֽא־ נוֹתַ֣ר עֲנָקִ֔ים בְּאֶ֖רֶץ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל רַ֗ק בְּעַזָּ֛ה בְּגַ֥ת וּבְאַשְׁדּ֖וֹד נִשְׁאָֽרוּ׃

BAN ²³ Et Josué prit tout le pays, selon tout ce que l'Eternel avait dit à Moïse, et Josué le donna pour héritage à Israël, à chaque tribu, selon sa portion, et le pays se reposa de la guerre.

KJV ²³ So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

WLC ²³ וַיִּקַּ֨ח יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ אֶת־ כָּל־ הָאָ֗רֶץ כְּ֠כֹל אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֣ר יְהוָה֮ אֶל־ מֹשֶׁה֒ וַיִּתְּנָהּ֩ יְהוֹשֻׁ֨עַ לְנַחֲלָ֧ה לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל כְּמַחְלְקֹתָ֖ם לְשִׁבְטֵיהֶ֑ם וְהָאָ֥רֶץ שָׁקְטָ֖ה מִמִּלְחָמָֽה׃
