KJV ¹ Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.

KJV ² And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.

MAR ² Et on dit à ceux de Gaza : Samson est venu ici ; ils l'environnèrent, et lui dressèrent une embuscade toute la nuit à la porte de la ville, et ils se tinrent tranquilles toute la nuit, en disant : [Qu'on ne bouge point] jusqu'au point du jour, et nous le tuerons.

WLC ² לַֽעַזָּתִ֣ים ׀ לֵאמֹ֗ר בָּ֤א שִׁמְשׁוֹן֙ הֵ֔נָּה וַיָּסֹ֛בּוּ וַיֶּאֶרְבוּ־ ל֥וֹ כָל־ הַלַּ֖יְלָה בְּשַׁ֣עַר הָעִ֑יר וַיִּתְחָרְשׁ֤וּ כָל־ הַלַּ֙יְלָה֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר עַד־ א֥וֹר הַבֹּ֖קֶר וַהֲרְגְנֻֽהוּ׃

KJV ³ And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.

MAR ³ Mais Samson après avoir dormi jusqu'à la minuit, se leva, et se saisit des portes de la ville, et des deux poteaux, et les ayant enlevés avec la barre, il les mit sur ses épaules, et les porta sur le sommet de la montagne qui est vis-à-vis de Hébron.

KJV ⁴ And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.

MAR ⁴ Après cela il aima une femme [qui se tenait] près du torrent de Sorek, le nom de laquelle était Délila.

WLC ⁴ וַֽיְהִי֙ אַחֲרֵי־ כֵ֔ן וַיֶּאֱהַ֥ב אִשָּׁ֖ה בְּנַ֣חַל שֹׂרֵ֑ק וּשְׁמָ֖הּ דְּלִילָֽה׃

KJV ⁵ And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.

MAR ⁵ Et les Gouverneurs des Philistins montèrent vers elle, et lui dirent : Persuade-le jusqu'à ce que tu saches de lui en quoi consiste sa grande force, et comment nous le surmonterions, afin que nous le liions pour l'abattre ; et nous te donnerons chacun onze cents [pièces] d'argent.

WLC ⁵ וַיַּעֲל֨וּ אֵלֶ֜יהָ סַרְנֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים וַיֹּ֨אמְרוּ לָ֜הּ פַּתִּ֣י אוֹת֗וֹ וּרְאִי֙ בַּמֶּה֙ כֹּח֣וֹ גָד֔וֹל וּבַמֶּה֙ נ֣וּכַל ל֔וֹ וַאֲסַרְנֻ֖הוּ לְעַנֹּת֑וֹ וַאֲנַ֙חְנוּ֙ נִתַּן־ לָ֔ךְ אִ֕ישׁ אֶ֥לֶף וּמֵאָ֖ה כָּֽסֶף׃

KJV ⁶ And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.

MAR ⁶ Délila donc dit à Samson : Déclare-moi, je te prie, en quoi consiste ta grande force, et avec quoi tu serais bien lié, pour t'abattre.

WLC ⁶ וַתֹּ֤אמֶר דְּלִילָה֙ אֶל־ שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן הַגִּֽידָה־ נָּ֣א לִ֔י בַּמֶּ֖ה כֹּחֲךָ֣ גָד֑וֹל וּבַמֶּ֥ה תֵאָסֵ֖ר לְעַנּוֹתֶֽךָ׃

KJV ⁷ And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.

MAR ⁷ Et Samson lui répondit : Si on me liait de sept cordes fraîches, qui ne fussent point encore sèches, je deviendrais sans force, et je serais comme un autre homme.

WLC ⁷ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן אִם־ יַאַסְרֻ֗נִי בְּשִׁבְעָ֛ה יְתָרִ֥ים לַחִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־ חֹרָ֑בוּ וְחָלִ֥יתִי וְהָיִ֖יתִי כְּאַחַ֥ד הָאָדָֽם׃

KJV ⁸ Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.

MAR ⁸ Les Gouverneurs donc des Philistins lui envoyèrent sept cordes fraîches qui n'étaient point encore sèches, et elle l'en lia.

WLC ⁸ וַיַּעֲלוּ־ לָ֞הּ סַרְנֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים שִׁבְעָ֛ה יְתָרִ֥ים לַחִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־ חֹרָ֑בוּ וַתַּאַסְרֵ֖הוּ בָּהֶֽם׃

KJV ⁹ Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.

MAR ⁹ Or il y avait chez elle dans une chambre des gens qui étaient en embûches, et elle lui dit : Les Philistins sont sur toi, Samson. Alors il rompit les cordes, comme se romprait un filet d'étoupes dès qu'il sent le feu, et sa force ne fut point connue.

WLC ⁹ וְהָאֹרֵ֗ב יֹשֵׁ֥ב לָהּ֙ בַּחֶ֔דֶר וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֔יו פְּלִשְׁתִּ֥ים עָלֶ֖יךָ שִׁמְשׁ֑וֹן וַיְנַתֵּק֙ אֶת־ הַיְתָרִ֔ים כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר יִנָּתֵ֤ק פְּתִֽיל־ הַנְּעֹ֙רֶת֙ בַּהֲרִיח֣וֹ אֵ֔שׁ וְלֹ֥א נוֹדַ֖ע כֹּחֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹⁰ And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound.

MAR ¹⁰ Puis Délila dit à Samson : Voici tu t'es moqué de moi, car tu m'as dit des mensonges ; je te prie, déclare-moi maintenant avec quoi tu pourrais être bien lié.

WLC ¹⁰ וַתֹּ֤אמֶר דְּלִילָה֙ אֶל־ שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן הִנֵּה֙ הֵתַ֣לְתָּ בִּ֔י וַתְּדַבֵּ֥ר אֵלַ֖י כְּזָבִ֑ים עַתָּה֙ הַגִּֽידָה־ נָּ֣א לִ֔י בַּמֶּ֖ה תֵּאָסֵֽר׃

KJV ¹¹ And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.

MAR ¹¹ Et il lui répondit : Si on me liait serré de courroies neuves, dont on ne se serait jamais servi, je deviendrais sans force, et je serais comme un autre homme.

WLC ¹¹ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלֶ֔יהָ אִם־ אָס֤וֹר יַאַסְר֙וּנִי֙ בַּעֲבֹתִ֣ים חֲדָשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹֽא־ נַעֲשָׂ֥ה בָהֶ֖ם מְלָאכָ֑ה וְחָלִ֥יתִי וְהָיִ֖יתִי כְּאַחַ֥ד הָאָדָֽם׃

KJV ¹² Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And there were liers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread.

MAR ¹² Délila donc prit des courroies neuves, et elle l'en lia ; puis elle lui dit : Les Philistins sont sur toi, Samson. Or il y avait des gens en embûches dans la chambre : et il rompit les courroies de dessus ses bras comme un filet.

WLC ¹² וַתִּקַּ֣ח דְּלִילָה֩ עֲבֹתִ֨ים חֲדָשִׁ֜ים וַתַּאַסְרֵ֣הוּ בָהֶ֗ם וַתֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָיו֙ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֤ים עָלֶ֙יךָ֙ שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן וְהָאֹרֵ֖ב יֹשֵׁ֣ב בֶּחָ֑דֶר וַֽיְנַתְּקֵ֛ם מֵעַ֥ל זְרֹעֹתָ֖יו כַּחֽוּט׃

KJV ¹³ And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.

MAR ¹³ Puis Délila dit à Samson : Tu t'es moqué de moi jusqu'ici, et tu m'as dit des mensonges ; déclare-moi avec quoi tu serais bien lié. Et il dit : [Ce serait] si tu avais tissu sept tresses de ma tête autour d'une ensuble.

WLC ¹³ וַתֹּ֨אמֶר דְּלִילָ֜ה אֶל־ שִׁמְשׁ֗וֹן עַד־ הֵ֜נָּה הֵתַ֤לְתָּ בִּי֙ וַתְּדַבֵּ֤ר אֵלַי֙ כְּזָבִ֔ים הַגִּ֣ידָה לִּ֔י בַּמֶּ֖ה תֵּאָסֵ֑ר וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלֶ֔יהָ אִם־ תַּאַרְגִ֗י אֶת־ שֶׁ֛בַע מַחְלְפ֥וֹת רֹאשִׁ֖י עִם־ הַמַּסָּֽכֶת׃

KJV ¹⁴ And she fastened it with the pin, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with the web.

MAR ¹⁴ Et elle les mit [dans l'ensuble] avec l'attache, puis elle dit : Les Philistins sont sur toi, Samson. Alors il se réveilla de son sommeil, et enleva l'attache de la tissure avec l'ensuble.

WLC ¹⁴ וַתִּתְקַע֙ בַּיָּתֵ֔ד וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֔יו פְּלִשְׁתִּ֥ים עָלֶ֖יךָ שִׁמְשׁ֑וֹן וַיִּיקַץ֙ מִשְּׁנָת֔וֹ וַיִּסַּ֛ע אֶת־ הַיְתַ֥ד הָאֶ֖רֶג וְאֶת־ הַמַּסָּֽכֶת׃

KJV ¹⁵ And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.

MAR ¹⁵ Alors elle lui dit : Comment dis-tu : Je t'aime, puisque ton coeur n'est point avec moi ? Tu t'es moqué de moi trois fois, et tu ne m'as point déclaré en quoi consiste ta grande force.

WLC ¹⁵ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֗יו אֵ֚יךְ תֹּאמַ֣ר אֲהַבְתִּ֔יךְ וְלִבְּךָ֖ אֵ֣ין אִתִּ֑י זֶ֣ה שָׁלֹ֤שׁ פְּעָמִים֙ הֵתַ֣לְתָּ בִּ֔י וְלֹא־ הִגַּ֣דְתָּ לִּ֔י בַּמֶּ֖ה כֹּחֲךָ֥ גָדֽוֹל׃

KJV ¹⁶ And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;

MAR ¹⁶ Et elle le tourmentait tous les jours par ses paroles, et le pressait vivement, tellement que son âme en fut affligée jusqu'à la mort.

WLC ¹⁶ וַ֠יְהִי כִּֽי־ הֵצִ֨יקָה לּ֧וֹ בִדְבָרֶ֛יהָ כָּל־ הַיָּמִ֖ים וַתְּאַֽלֲצֵ֑הוּ וַתִּקְצַ֥ר נַפְשׁ֖וֹ לָמֽוּת׃

KJV ¹⁷ That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.

MAR ¹⁷ Alors il lui ouvrit tout son coeur, et lui dit : Le rasoir n'a jamais passé sur ma tête ; car je suis Nazarien de Dieu dès le ventre de ma mère ; si je suis rasé, ma force m'abandonnera, je me trouverai sans force, et je serai comme tous les [autres] hommes.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיַּגֶּד־ לָ֣הּ אֶת־ כָּל־ לִבּ֗וֹ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהּ֙ מוֹרָה֙ לֹֽא־ עָלָ֣ה עַל־ רֹאשִׁ֔י כִּֽי־ נְזִ֧יר אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֲנִ֖י מִבֶּ֣טֶן אִמִּ֑י אִם־ גֻּלַּ֙חְתִּי֙ וְסָ֣ר מִמֶּ֣נִּי כֹחִ֔י וְחָלִ֥יתִי וְהָיִ֖יתִי כְּכָל־ הָאָדָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁸ And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.

MAR ¹⁸ Délila donc voyant qu'il lui avait ouvert tout son coeur, envoya appeler les Gouverneurs des Philistins, et leur dit : Montez à cette fois ; car il m'a ouvert tout son coeur. Les Gouverneurs donc des Philistins montèrent vers elle, portant l'argent en leurs mains.

WLC ¹⁸ וַתֵּ֣רֶא דְלִילָ֗ה כִּֽי־ הִגִּ֣יד לָהּ֮ אֶת־ כָּל־ לִבּוֹ֒ וַתִּשְׁלַ֡ח וַתִּקְרָא֩ לְסַרְנֵ֨י פְלִשְׁתִּ֤ים לֵאמֹר֙ עֲל֣וּ הַפַּ֔עַם כִּֽי־ הִגִּ֥יד אֶת־ כָּל־ לִבּ֑וֹ וְעָל֤וּ אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ סַרְנֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַיַּעֲל֥וּ הַכֶּ֖סֶף בְּיָדָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁹ And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.

MAR ¹⁹ Et elle l'endormit sur ses genoux, et ayant appelé un homme, elle lui fit raser sept tresses des cheveux de sa tête, et commença à l'abattre, et sa force l'abandonna.

WLC ¹⁹ וַתְּיַשְּׁנֵ֙הוּ֙ עַל־ בִּרְכֶּ֔יהָ וַתִּקְרָ֣א לָאִ֔ישׁ וַתְּגַלַּ֕ח אֶת־ שֶׁ֖בַע מַחְלְפ֣וֹת רֹאשׁ֑וֹ וַתָּ֙חֶל֙ לְעַנּוֹת֔וֹ וַיָּ֥סַר כֹּח֖וֹ מֵעָלָֽיו׃

KJV ²⁰ And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.

MAR ²⁰ Alors elle dit : Les Philistins sont sur toi, Samson. Et il s'éveilla de son sommeil, disant [en lui-même] : J'en sortirai comme les autres fois, et je me tirerai [de leurs mains] ; mais il ne savait pas que l'Eternel s'était retiré de lui.

WLC ²⁰ וַתֹּ֕אמֶר פְּלִשְׁתִּ֥ים עָלֶ֖יךָ שִׁמְשׁ֑וֹן וַיִּקַ֣ץ מִשְּׁנָת֗וֹ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֵצֵ֞א כְּפַ֤עַם בְּפַ֙עַם֙ וְאִנָּעֵ֔ר וְהוּא֙ לֹ֣א יָדַ֔ע כִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה סָ֥ר מֵעָלָֽיו׃

KJV ²¹ But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

MAR ²¹ Les Philistins donc le saisirent, et lui crevèrent les yeux, et le menèrent à Gaza, et le lièrent de deux chaînes d'airain ; et il tournait la meule dans la prison.

WLC ²¹ וַיֹּאחֲז֣וּהוּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַֽיְנַקְּר֖וּ אֶת־ עֵינָ֑יו וַיּוֹרִ֨ידוּ אוֹת֜וֹ עַזָּ֗תָה וַיַּאַסְר֙וּהוּ֙ בַּֽנְחֻשְׁתַּ֔יִם וַיְהִ֥י טוֹחֵ֖ן בְּבֵ֥ית

KJV ²² Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven.

MAR ²² Et les cheveux de sa tête commencèrent à revenir comme ils étaient lorsqu'il fut rasé.

WLC ²² וַיָּ֧חֶל שְׂעַר־ רֹאשׁ֛וֹ לְצַמֵּ֖חַ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר גֻּלָּֽח׃

KJV ²³ Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.

MAR ²³ Or les Gouverneurs des Philistins s'assemblèrent pour offrir un grand sacrifice à Dagon leur dieu, et pour se réjouir, et ils dirent : Notre dieu a livré en nos mains Samson notre ennemi.

WLC ²³ וְסַרְנֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים נֶֽאֱסְפוּ֙ לִזְבֹּ֧חַ זֶֽבַח־ גָּד֛וֹל לְדָג֥וֹן אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם וּלְשִׂמְחָ֑ה וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ נָתַ֤ן אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ בְּיָדֵ֔נוּ אֵ֖ת שִׁמְשׁ֥וֹן אוֹיְבֵֽינוּ׃

KJV ²⁴ And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.

MAR ²⁴ Le peuple aussi l'ayant vu, loua son dieu, en disant : Notre dieu a livré entre nos mains notre ennemi, et le destructeur de notre pays, et celui qui en a tant tué d'entre nous.

WLC ²⁴ וַיִּרְא֤וּ אֹתוֹ֙ הָעָ֔ם וַֽיְהַלְל֖וּ אֶת־ אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם כִּ֣י אָמְר֗וּ נָתַ֨ן אֱלֹהֵ֤ינוּ בְיָדֵ֙נוּ֙ אֶת־ א֣וֹיְבֵ֔נוּ וְאֵת֙ מַחֲרִ֣יב אַרְצֵ֔נוּ וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר הִרְבָּ֖ה אֶת־ חֲלָלֵֽינוּ׃

KJV ²⁵ And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.

MAR ²⁵ Or comme ils avaient le coeur joyeux, ils dirent : Faites venir Samson, afin qu'il nous fasse rire. Ils appelèrent donc Samson, et ils le tirèrent de la prison ; il se jouait devant eux ; et ils le firent tenir entre les piliers.

WLC ²⁵ וַֽיְהִי֙ לִבָּ֔ם וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ קִרְא֥וּ לְשִׁמְשׁ֖וֹן וִישַֽׂחֶק־ לָ֑נוּ וַיִּקְרְא֨וּ לְשִׁמְשׁ֜וֹן מִבֵּ֣ית וַיְצַחֵק֙ לִפְנֵיהֶ֔ם וַיַּעֲמִ֥ידוּ אוֹת֖וֹ בֵּ֥ין הָעַמּוּדִֽים׃

KJV ²⁶ And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.

MAR ²⁶ Alors Samson dit au garçon qui le tenait par la main : Mets-moi en une telle place que je puisse toucher les piliers sur lesquels la maison est appuyée, afin que je m'y appuie.

WLC ²⁶ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר שִׁמְשׁ֜וֹן אֶל־ הַנַּ֨עַר הַמַּחֲזִ֣יק בְּיָדוֹ֮ הַנִּ֣יחָה אוֹתִי֒ אֶת־ הָֽעַמֻּדִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הַבַּ֖יִת נָכ֣וֹן עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם וְאֶשָּׁעֵ֖ן עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃

KJV ²⁷ Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.

MAR ²⁷ Or la maison était pleine d'hommes et de femmes, et tous les Gouverneurs des Philistins y étaient. Il y avait même sur le toit près de trois mille personnes tant d'hommes, que de femmes, qui regardaient Samson se jouer.

WLC ²⁷ וְהַבַּ֗יִת מָלֵ֤א הָֽאֲנָשִׁים֙ וְהַנָּשִׁ֔ים וְשָׁ֕מָּה כֹּ֖ל סַרְנֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֑ים וְעַל־ הַגָּ֗ג כִּשְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת אֲלָפִים֙ אִ֣ישׁ וְאִשָּׁ֔ה הָרֹאִ֖ים בִּשְׂח֥וֹק שִׁמְשֽׁוֹן׃

KJV ²⁸ And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

MAR ²⁸ Alors Samson invoqua l'Eternel, et dit : Seigneur Eternel, je te prie, souviens-toi de moi ; ô Dieu ! je te prie, fortifie-moi seulement cette fois, et que pour un coup je me venge des Philistins pour mes deux yeux.

WLC ²⁸ וַיִּקְרָ֥א שִׁמְשׁ֛וֹן אֶל־ יְהוָ֖ה וַיֹּאמַ֑ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֡ה זָכְרֵ֣נִי נָא֩ וְחַזְּקֵ֨נִי נָ֜א אַ֣ךְ הַפַּ֤עַם הַזֶּה֙ הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים וְאִנָּקְמָ֧ה נְקַם־ אַחַ֛ת מִשְּׁתֵ֥י עֵינַ֖י מִפְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃

KJV ²⁹ And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.

MAR ²⁹ Samson donc embrassa les deux piliers du milieu, sur lesquels la maison était appuyée, et se tint à eux, l'un desquels était à sa main droite, et l'autre à sa gauche.

WLC ²⁹ וַיִּלְפֹּ֨ת שִׁמְשׁ֜וֹן אֶת־ שְׁנֵ֣י ׀ עַמּוּדֵ֣י הַתָּ֗וֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֤ר הַבַּ֙יִת֙ נָכ֣וֹן עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וַיִּסָּמֵ֖ךְ עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם אֶחָ֥ד בִּימִינ֖וֹ וְאֶחָ֥ד בִּשְׂמֹאלֽוֹ׃

KJV ³⁰ And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.

MAR ³⁰ Et il dit : Que je meure avec les Philistins. Il s'étendit donc de toute sa force ; et la maison tomba sur les Gouverneurs et sur tout le peuple qui y était. Et il fit mourir beaucoup plus de gens en sa mort, qu'il n'en avait fait mourir en sa vie.

WLC ³⁰ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שִׁמְשׁ֗וֹן תָּמ֣וֹת נַפְשִׁי֮ עִם־ פְּלִשְׁתִּים֒ וַיֵּ֣ט בְּכֹ֔חַ וַיִּפֹּ֤ל הַבַּ֙יִת֙ עַל־ הַסְּרָנִ֔ים וְעַל־ כָּל־ הָעָ֖ם אֲשֶׁר־ בּ֑וֹ וַיִּהְי֤וּ הַמֵּתִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֵמִ֣ית בְּמוֹת֔וֹ רַבִּ֕ים מֵאֲשֶׁ֥ר הֵמִ֖ית בְּחַיָּֽיו׃

KJV ³¹ Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.

MAR ³¹ Ensuite ses frères, et toute la maison de son père, descendirent, et l'emportèrent ; et étant remontés ils l'ensevelirent entre Tsorah et Estaol, dans le sépulcre de Manoah son père. Or il jugea Israël vingt ans.
