BCC ² Il m'a conduit et m'a fait marcher dans les ténèbres et non dans la lumière ;

KJV ² He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.

WLC ² אוֹתִ֥י נָהַ֛ג וַיֹּלַ֖ךְ חֹ֥שֶׁךְ וְלֹא־ אֽוֹר׃

BCC ³ Contre moi seul il tourne et retourne sa main tout le jour.

KJV ³ Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.

WLC ³ אַ֣ךְ בִּ֥י יָשֻׁ֛ב יַהֲפֹ֥ךְ יָד֖וֹ כָּל־ הַיּֽוֹם׃

BCC ⁴ BETH. Il a usé ma chair et ma peau, il a brisé mes os ;

KJV ⁴ My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.

WLC ⁴ בִּלָּ֤ה בְשָׂרִי֙ וְעוֹרִ֔י שִׁבַּ֖ר עַצְמוֹתָֽי׃

BCC ⁵ Il a bâti contre moi ; il m'a environné de fiel et d'ennui ;

KJV ⁵ He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.

WLC ⁵ בָּנָ֥ה עָלַ֛י וַיַּקַּ֖ף רֹ֥אשׁ וּתְלָאָֽה׃

BCC ⁶ Il m'a fait habiter dans les ténèbres, comme ceux qui sont morts depuis longtemps.

KJV ⁶ He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.

WLC ⁶ בְּמַחֲשַׁכִּ֥ים הוֹשִׁיבַ֖נִי כְּמֵתֵ֥י עוֹלָֽם׃

BCC ⁷ GHIMEL. Il m'a entouré d'un mur pour que je ne puisse sortir, il m'a chargé de lourdes chaînes.

KJV ⁷ He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.

WLC ⁷ גָּדַ֧ר בַּעֲדִ֛י וְלֹ֥א אֵצֵ֖א הִכְבִּ֥יד נְחָשְׁתִּֽי׃

BCC ⁸ Lors même que je crie et que j'implore du secours, il ferme tout accès à ma prière.

KJV ⁸ Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.

WLC ⁸ גַּ֣ם כִּ֤י אֶזְעַק֙ וַאֲשַׁוֵּ֔עַ שָׂתַ֖ם תְּפִלָּתִֽי׃

BCC ⁹ Il m'a barré les chemins avec des pierres de taille, il a bouleversé mes sentiers.

KJV ⁹ He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.

WLC ⁹ גָּדַ֤ר דְּרָכַי֙ בְּגָזִ֔ית נְתִיבֹתַ֖י עִוָּֽה׃

BCC ¹⁰ DALETH. Il a été pour moi comme un ours aux aguets, comme un lion dans son embuscade ;

KJV ¹⁰ He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.

WLC ¹⁰ דֹּ֣ב אֹרֵ֥ב הוּא֙ לִ֔י בְּמִסְתָּרִֽים׃

BCC ¹¹ Il m'a ôté toute issue et m'a mis en pièces ; il m'a réduit à la dévastation ;

KJV ¹¹ He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.

WLC ¹¹ דְּרָכַ֥י סוֹרֵ֛ר וַֽיְפַשְּׁחֵ֖נִי שָׂמַ֥נִי שֹׁמֵֽם׃

BCC ¹² Il a bandé son arc et m'a placé comme but à ses flèches.

KJV ¹² He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.

WLC ¹² דָּרַ֤ךְ קַשְׁתוֹ֙ וַיַּצִּיבֵ֔נִי כַּמַּטָּרָ֖א לַחֵֽץ׃

BCC ¹³ HÉ. Il a fait pénétrer dans mes reins les fils de son carquois ;

KJV ¹³ He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.

WLC ¹³ הֵבִיא֙ בְּכִלְיוֹתָ֔י בְּנֵ֖י אַשְׁפָּתֽוֹ׃

BCC ¹⁴ Je suis la risée de tout mon peuple, leur chanson tout le jour ;

KJV ¹⁴ I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.

WLC ¹⁴ הָיִ֤יתִי שְּׂחֹק֙ לְכָל־ עַמִּ֔י נְגִינָתָ֖ם כָּל־ הַיּֽוֹם׃

BCC ¹⁵ Il m'a rassasié d'amertume, il m'a abreuvé d'absinthe.

KJV ¹⁵ He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.

WLC ¹⁵ הִשְׂבִּיעַ֥נִי בַמְּרוֹרִ֖ים הִרְוַ֥נִי לַעֲנָֽה׃

BCC ¹⁶ VAV. Il a fait broyer du gravier à mes dents, il m'a enfoncé dans la cendre,

KJV ¹⁶ He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.

WLC ¹⁶ וַיַּגְרֵ֤ס בֶּֽחָצָץ֙ שִׁנָּ֔י הִכְפִּישַׁ֖נִי בָּאֵֽפֶר׃

BCC ¹⁷ Mon âme est dégoûtée, parce qu'elle n'a plus de paix ; j'ai oublié le bonheur ;

KJV ¹⁷ And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.

WLC ¹⁷ וַתִּזְנַ֧ח מִשָּׁל֛וֹם נַפְשִׁ֖י נָשִׁ֥יתִי טוֹבָֽה׃

BCC ¹⁸ Et je disais : ma force est perdue, je n'ai plus d'espérance en Jéhovah !

KJV ¹⁹ Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

WLC ¹⁹ זְכָר־ עָנְיִ֥י וּמְרוּדִ֖י לַעֲנָ֥ה וָרֹֽאשׁ׃

BCC ²⁰ Mon âme s'en souvient sans cesse, et elle est abattue en moi.

KJV ²⁰ My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

WLC ²⁰ זָכ֣וֹר תִּזְכּ֔וֹר עָלַ֖י נַפְשִֽׁי׃

BCC ²¹ Voilà ce que je veux me rappeler en mon coeur ; c'est pourquoi j'espérerai.

KJV ²¹ This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

WLC ²¹ זֹ֛את אָשִׁ֥יב אֶל־ לִבִּ֖י עַל־ כֵּ֥ן אוֹחִֽיל׃

BCC ²² HETH. C'est une grâce de Jéhovah que nous ne soyons pas anéantis, car tes miséricordes ne sont pas épuisées ;

KJV ²² It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

WLC ²² חַֽסְדֵ֤י יְהוָה֙ כִּ֣י לֹא־ תָ֔מְנוּ כִּ֥י לֹא־ כָל֖וּ רַחֲמָֽיו׃

BCC ²³ Elles se renouvellent chaque matin ; grande est ta fidélité !

KJV ²³ They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

WLC ²³ חֲדָשִׁים֙ לַבְּקָרִ֔ים רַבָּ֖ה אֱמוּנָתֶֽךָ׃

BCC ²⁴ Jéhovah est mon partage, a dit mon âme ; c'est pourquoi j'espérerai en lui.

KJV ²⁴ The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

WLC ²⁴ חֶלְקִ֤י יְהוָה֙ אָמְרָ֣ה נַפְשִׁ֔י עַל־ כֵּ֖ן אוֹחִ֥יל לֽוֹ׃

BCC ²⁵ TETH. Jéhovah est bon pour qui espère en lui, pour l'âme qui le cherche.

KJV ²⁵ The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

WLC ²⁵ ט֤וֹב יְהוָה֙ לְקוָֹ֔ו לְנֶ֖פֶשׁ תִּדְרְשֶֽׁנּוּ׃

BCC ²⁶ Il est bon d'attendre en silence la délivrance de Jéhovah ;

KJV ²⁶ It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

WLC ²⁶ ט֤וֹב וְיָחִיל֙ וְדוּמָ֔ם לִתְשׁוּעַ֖ת יְהוָֽה׃

BCC ²⁷ Il est bon à l'homme de porter le joug dès sa jeunesse.

KJV ²⁷ It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth.

WLC ²⁷ ט֣וֹב לַגֶּ֔בֶר כִּֽי־ יִשָּׂ֥א עֹ֖ל בִּנְעוּרָֽיו׃

BCC ²⁸ JOD. Quand Dieu le lui impose, qu'il s'asseye à l'écart, en silence !

KJV ²⁸ He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.

WLC ²⁸ יֵשֵׁ֤ב בָּדָד֙ וְיִדֹּ֔ם כִּ֥י נָטַ֖ל עָלָֽיו׃

BCC ²⁹ Qu'il mette sa bouche dans la poussière ; peut-être y a-t-il de l'espérance !

KJV ²⁹ He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

WLC ²⁹ יִתֵּ֤ן בֶּֽעָפָר֙ פִּ֔יהוּ אוּלַ֖י יֵ֥שׁ תִּקְוָֽה׃

BCC ³⁰ Qu'il tende la joue à celui qui le frappe ; qu'il se rassasie d'opprobres !

KJV ³⁰ He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.

WLC ³⁰ יִתֵּ֧ן לְמַכֵּ֛הוּ לֶ֖חִי יִשְׂבַּ֥ע בְּחֶרְפָּֽה׃

BCC ³¹ CAPH. Car le Seigneur ne rejette pas à toujours ;

KJV ³¹ For the LORD will not cast off for ever:

WLC ³¹ כִּ֣י לֹ֥א יִזְנַ֛ח לְעוֹלָ֖ם אֲדֹנָֽי׃

BCC ³² Mais, quand il afflige, il a compassion selon sa grande miséricorde ;

KJV ³² But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

WLC ³² כִּ֣י אִם־ הוֹגָ֔ה וְרִחַ֖ם כְּרֹ֥ב

BCC ³³ Car ce n'est pas de bon coeur qu'il humilie et qu'il afflige les enfants des hommes.

BCC ³⁶ Quand on fait tort à quelqu'un dans sa cause, est-ce que le Seigneur ne le voit pas ?

KJV ³⁶ To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approveth not.

WLC ³⁶ לְעַוֵּ֤ת אָדָם֙ בְּרִיב֔וֹ אֲדֹנָ֖י לֹ֥א רָאָֽה׃

KJV ³⁷ Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

WLC ³⁷ מִ֣י זֶ֤ה אָמַר֙ וַתֶּ֔הִי אֲדֹנָ֖י לֹ֥א צִוָּֽה׃

BCC ³⁸ N'est-ce pas de la bouche du Très-Haut que viennent les maux et les biens ?

KJV ³⁸ Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?

WLC ³⁸ מִפִּ֤י עֶלְיוֹן֙ לֹ֣א תֵצֵ֔א הָרָע֖וֹת וְהַטּֽוֹב׃

BCC ³⁹ Pourquoi l'homme vivant se plaindrait-il ? Que chacun se plaigne de son péché.

KJV ³⁹ Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

WLC ³⁹ מַה־ יִּתְאוֹנֵן֙ אָדָ֣ם חָ֔י גֶּ֖בֶר עַל־

BCC ⁴⁰ NUN. Examinons nos voies et scrutons-les, et retournons à Jéhovah.

KJV ⁴⁰ Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

WLC ⁴⁰ נַחְפְּשָׂ֤ה דְרָכֵ֙ינוּ֙ וְֽנַחְקֹ֔רָה וְנָשׁ֖וּבָה עַד־ יְהוָֽה׃

BCC ⁴¹ Elevons nos coeurs, avec nos mains, vers Dieu qui est au ciel.

KJV ⁴¹ Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

WLC ⁴¹ נִשָּׂ֤א לְבָבֵ֙נוּ֙ אֶל־ כַּפָּ֔יִם אֶל־ אֵ֖ל בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

BCC ⁴² Nous, nous avons péché, nous avons été rebelles ; toi, tu n'as pas pardonné.

KJV ⁴² We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.

WLC ⁴² נַ֤חְנוּ פָשַׁ֙עְנוּ֙ וּמָרִ֔ינוּ אַתָּ֖ה לֹ֥א סָלָֽחְתָּ׃

BCC ⁴³ SAMECH. Tu t'es enveloppé dans ta colère, et tu nous a poursuivis ; tu as tué sans épargner ;

KJV ⁴³ Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.

WLC ⁴³ סַכֹּ֤תָה בָאַף֙ וַֽתִּרְדְּפֵ֔נוּ הָרַ֖גְתָּ לֹ֥א חָמָֽלְתָּ׃

BCC ⁴⁴ Tu t'es couvert d'une nuée, afin que la prière ne passe point ;

KJV ⁴⁴ Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.

WLC ⁴⁴ סַכּ֤וֹתָה בֶֽעָנָן֙ לָ֔ךְ מֵעֲב֖וֹר תְּפִלָּֽה׃

BCC ⁴⁵ Tu as fait de nous des balayures et un rebut au milieu des peuples.

KJV ⁴⁵ Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.

WLC ⁴⁵ סְחִ֧י וּמָא֛וֹס תְּשִׂימֵ֖נוּ בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָעַמִּֽים׃

BCC ⁴⁶ PHÉ. Tous nos ennemis ouvrent la bouche contre nous.

KJV ⁴⁶ All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.

WLC ⁴⁶ פָּצ֥וּ עָלֵ֛ינוּ פִּיהֶ֖ם כָּל־ אֹיְבֵֽינוּ׃

BCC ⁴⁷ La frayeur et la fosse ont été notre part, la dévastation et la ruine.

KJV ⁴⁷ Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.

WLC ⁴⁷ פַּ֧חַד וָפַ֛חַת הָ֥יָה לָ֖נוּ הַשֵּׁ֥את וְהַשָּֽׁבֶר׃

BCC ⁴⁸ Mon oeil se fond en un ruisseau de larmes, à cause de la ruine de la fille de mon peuple.

KJV ⁴⁸ Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

WLC ⁴⁸ פַּלְגֵי־ מַ֙יִם֙ תֵּרַ֣ד עֵינִ֔י עַל־ שֶׁ֖בֶר בַּת־ עַמִּֽי׃

BCC ⁴⁹ AÏN. Mon oeil pleure et ne cesse point parce qu'il n'y a pas de répit.

KJV ⁴⁹ Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission.

WLC ⁴⁹ עֵינִ֧י נִגְּרָ֛ה וְלֹ֥א תִדְמֶ֖ה מֵאֵ֥ין הֲפֻגֽוֹת׃

BCC ⁵⁰ Jusqu'à ce que Jéhovah regarde et voie du haut des cieux,

KJV ⁵⁰ Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.

WLC ⁵⁰ עַד־ יַשְׁקִ֣יף וְיֵ֔רֶא יְהוָ֖ה מִשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

BCC ⁵¹ Mon oeil fait mal à mon âme, à cause de toutes les filles de ma ville.

KJV ⁵¹ Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.

WLC ⁵¹ עֵינִי֙ עֽוֹלְלָ֣ה לְנַפְשִׁ֔י מִכֹּ֖ל בְּנ֥וֹת עִירִֽי׃

BCC ⁵² TSADÉ. Ceux qui sont mes ennemis sans cause m'ont donné la chasse comme a un passereau.

KJV ⁵² Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.

WLC ⁵² צ֥וֹד צָד֛וּנִי כַּצִּפּ֖וֹר אֹיְבַ֥י חִנָּֽם׃

BCC ⁵³ Ils ont voulu anéantir ma vie dans la fosse, et ils ont jeté une pierre sur moi.

KJV ⁵³ They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.

WLC ⁵³ צָֽמְת֤וּ בַבּוֹר֙ חַיָּ֔י וַיַּדּוּ־ אֶ֖בֶן בִּֽי׃

BCC ⁵⁴ Les eaux montaient au-dessus de ma tête ; je disais : "je suis perdu !"

KJV ⁵⁴ Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.

WLC ⁵⁴ צָֽפוּ־ מַ֥יִם עַל־ רֹאשִׁ֖י אָמַ֥רְתִּי נִגְזָֽרְתִּי׃

BCC ⁵⁵ QOPH. J'ai invoqué ton nom, Jéhovah, de la fosse profonde ;

KJV ⁵⁵ I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.

WLC ⁵⁵ קָרָ֤אתִי שִׁמְךָ֙ יְהוָ֔ה מִבּ֖וֹר תַּחְתִּיּֽוֹת׃

BCC ⁵⁶ Tu as entendu ma voix : "Ne ferme point l'oreille à mes soupirs, à mes cris de détresse !"

KJV ⁵⁶ Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

WLC ⁵⁶ קוֹלִ֖י שָׁמָ֑עְתָּ אַל־ תַּעְלֵ֧ם אָזְנְךָ֛ לְרַוְחָתִ֖י לְשַׁוְעָתִֽי׃

BCC ⁵⁷ Au jour où je t'ai invoqué, tu t'es approché et tu as dit : "Ne crains point !"

KJV ⁵⁷ Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.

WLC ⁵⁷ קָרַ֙בְתָּ֙ בְּי֣וֹם אֶקְרָאֶ֔ךָּ אָמַ֖רְתָּ אַל־ תִּירָֽא׃

BCC ⁵⁸ RESCH. Seigneur tu as pris ma défense, tu m'a sauvé la vie.

KJV ⁵⁸ O LORD, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.

BCC ⁵⁹ Tu as vu, Jéhovah, la violence qu'ils me font ; fais-moi, justice !

KJV ⁵⁹ O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.

WLC ⁵⁹ רָאִ֤יתָה יְהוָה֙ עַוָּ֣תָתִ֔י שָׁפְטָ֖ה מִשְׁפָּטִֽי׃

BCC ⁶⁰ Tu as vu toute leur rancune ! tous leurs complots contre moi.

KJV ⁶⁰ Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.

WLC ⁶⁰ רָאִ֙יתָה֙ כָּל־ נִקְמָתָ֔ם כָּל־ מַחְשְׁבֹתָ֖ם לִֽי׃

BCC ⁶¹ SIN. Tu as entendu leurs outrages, Jéhovah, tous leurs complots contre moi,

KJV ⁶¹ Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;

WLC ⁶¹ שָׁמַ֤עְתָּ חֶרְפָּתָם֙ יְהוָ֔ה כָּל־ מַחְשְׁבֹתָ֖ם עָלָֽי׃

BCC ⁶² Les propos de mes adversaires et ce qu'ils méditent contre moi tout le jour,

KJV ⁶² The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.

WLC ⁶² שִׂפְתֵ֤י קָמַי֙ וְהֶגְיוֹנָ֔ם עָלַ֖י כָּל־ הַיּֽוֹם׃

BCC ⁶³ Quand ils s'asseyent ou qu'ils se lèvent ; regarde, je suis l'objet de leurs chansons.

KJV ⁶³ Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.

WLC ⁶³ שִׁבְתָּ֤ם וְקִֽימָתָם֙ הַבִּ֔יטָה אֲנִ֖י מַנְגִּינָתָֽם׃

BCC ⁶⁴ THAU. Tu leur rendras, Jéhovah, selon l'oeuvre de leurs mains ;

KJV ⁶⁴ Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

WLC ⁶⁴ תָּשִׁ֨יב לָהֶ֥ם גְּמ֛וּל יְהוָ֖ה כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יְדֵיהֶֽם׃

BCC ⁶⁵ Tu leur donneras l'aveuglement du coeur ; ta malédiction sera pour eux.

KJV ⁶⁵ Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.

WLC ⁶⁵ תִּתֵּ֤ן לָהֶם֙ מְגִנַּת־ לֵ֔ב תַּאֲלָֽתְךָ֖ לָהֶֽם׃

BCC ⁶⁶ Tu les poursuivras avec colère et tu les extermineras de dessous les cieux de Jéhovah !

KJV ⁶⁶ Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.

WLC ⁶⁶ תִּרְדֹּ֤ף בְּאַף֙ וְתַשְׁמִידֵ֔ם מִתַּ֖חַת שְׁמֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
