KJV 1 Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

VULC 1 [Recordare, Domine, quid acciderit nobis ;
intuere et respice opprobrium nostrum.

WLC 1 זְכֹ֤ר יְהוָה֙ מֶֽה־ הָ֣יָה לָ֔נוּ וּרְאֵ֥ה אֶת־ חֶרְפָּתֵֽנוּ׃

KJV 2 Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

VULC 2 Hæreditas nostra versa est ad alienos,
domus nostræ ad extraneos.

WLC 2 נַחֲלָתֵ֙נוּ֙ נֶֽהֶפְכָ֣ה לְזָרִ֔ים בָּתֵּ֖ינוּ לְנָכְרִֽים׃

KJV 3 We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

VULC 3 Pupilli facti sumus absque patre,
matres nostræ quasi viduæ.

WLC 3 יְתוֹמִ֤ים הָיִ֙ינוּ֙ אָ֔ב אִמֹּתֵ֖ינוּ כְּאַלְמָנֽוֹת׃

KJV 4 We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.

VULC 4 Aquam nostram pecunia bibimus ;
ligna nostra pretio comparavimus.

WLC 4 מֵימֵ֙ינוּ֙ בְּכֶ֣סֶף שָׁתִ֔ינוּ עֵצֵ֖ינוּ בִּמְחִ֥יר יָבֹֽאוּ׃

KJV 5 Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.

VULC 5 Cervicibus nostris minabamur,
lassis non dabatur requies.

WLC 5 עַ֤ל צַוָּארֵ֙נוּ֙ נִרְדָּ֔פְנוּ יָגַ֖עְנוּ הֽוּנַ֖ח לָֽנוּ׃

KJV 6 We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

VULC 6 Ægypto dedimus manum et Assyriis,
ut saturaremur pane.

WLC 6 מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ נָתַ֣נּוּ יָ֔ד אַשּׁ֖וּר לִשְׂבֹּ֥עַֽ לָֽחֶם׃

KJV 7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.

VULC 7 Patres nostri peccaverunt, et non sunt :
et nos iniquitates eorum portavimus.

WLC 7 אֲבֹתֵ֤ינוּ חָֽטְאוּ֙ עֲוֺנֹתֵיהֶ֥ם סָבָֽלְנוּ׃

KJV 8 Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.

non fuit qui redimeret de manu eorum.

WLC 8 עֲבָדִים֙ מָ֣שְׁלוּ בָ֔נוּ פֹּרֵ֖ק אֵ֥ין מִיָּדָֽם׃

KJV 9 We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.

VULC 9 In animabus nostris afferebamus panem nobis,
a facie gladii in deserto.

WLC 9 בְּנַפְשֵׁ֙נוּ֙ נָבִ֣יא לַחְמֵ֔נוּ מִפְּנֵ֖י חֶ֥רֶב הַמִּדְבָּֽר׃

KJV 10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.

VULC 10 Pellis nostra quasi clibanus exusta est,
a facie tempestatum famis.

WLC 10 עוֹרֵ֙נוּ֙ כְּתַנּ֣וּר נִכְמָ֔רוּ מִפְּנֵ֖י זַלְעֲפ֥וֹת רָעָֽב׃

KJV 11 They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.

VULC 11 Mulieres in Sion humiliaverunt,
et virgines in civitatibus Juda.

WLC 11 נָשִׁים֙ בְּצִיּ֣וֹן עִנּ֔וּ בְּתֻלֹ֖ת בְּעָרֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃

KJV 12 Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.

VULC 12 Principes manu suspensi sunt ;
facies senum non erubuerunt.

WLC 12 שָׂרִים֙ בְּיָדָ֣ם נִתְל֔וּ פְּנֵ֥י זְקֵנִ֖ים לֹ֥א נֶהְדָּֽרוּ׃

KJV 13 They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.

VULC 13 Adolescentibus impudice abusi sunt,
et pueri in ligno corruerunt.

WLC 13 בַּחוּרִים֙ טְח֣וֹן נָשָׂ֔אוּ וּנְעָרִ֖ים בָּעֵ֥ץ כָּשָֽׁלוּ׃

KJV 14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.

VULC 14 Senes defecerunt de portis,
juvenes de choro psallentium.

WLC 14 זְקֵנִים֙ מִשַּׁ֣עַר שָׁבָ֔תוּ בַּחוּרִ֖ים מִנְּגִינָתָֽם׃

KJV 15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

VULC 15 Defecit gaudium cordis nostri ;
versus est in luctum chorus noster.

WLC 15 שָׁבַת֙ מְשׂ֣וֹשׂ לִבֵּ֔נוּ נֶהְפַּ֥ךְ לְאֵ֖בֶל מְחֹלֵֽנוּ׃

KJV 16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

VULC 16 Cecidit corona capitis nostri :
væ nobis, quia peccavimus !

WLC 16 נָֽפְלָה֙ עֲטֶ֣רֶת רֹאשֵׁ֔נוּ אֽוֹי־ נָ֥א לָ֖נוּ כִּ֥י חָטָֽאנוּ׃

KJV 17 For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.

VULC 17 Propterea mœstum factum est cor nostrum ;
ideo contenebrati sunt oculi nostri,

WLC 17 עַל־ זֶ֗ה הָיָ֤ה דָוֶה֙ לִבֵּ֔נוּ עַל־ אֵ֖לֶּה חָשְׁכ֥וּ עֵינֵֽינוּ׃

KJV 18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

VULC 18 propter montem Sion quia disperiit ;
vulpes ambulaverunt in eo.

WLC 18 עַ֤ל הַר־ צִיּוֹן֙ שֶׁשָּׁמֵ֔ם שׁוּעָלִ֖ים הִלְּכוּ־ בֽוֹ׃

KJV 19 Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

VULC 19 Tu autem, Domine, in æternum permanebis,
solium tuum in generationem et generationem.

WLC 19 אַתָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ לְעוֹלָ֣ם תֵּשֵׁ֔ב כִּסְאֲךָ֖ לְדֹ֥ר וָדֽוֹר׃

KJV 20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?

VULC 20 Quare in perpetuum oblivisceris nostri,
derelinques nos in longitudine dierum ?

WLC 20 לָ֤מָּה לָנֶ֙צַח֙ תִּשְׁכָּחֵ֔נוּ תַּֽעַזְבֵ֖נוּ לְאֹ֥רֶךְ יָמִֽים׃

KJV 21 Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

VULC 21 Converte nos, Domine, ad te, et convertemur ;
innova dies nostros, sicut a principio.

WLC 21 הֲשִׁיבֵ֨נוּ יְהוָ֤ה ׀ אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ חַדֵּ֥שׁ יָמֵ֖ינוּ כְּקֶֽדֶם׃

KJV 22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.

VULC 22 Sed projiciens repulisti nos :
iratus es contra nos vehementer.]

WLC 22 כִּ֚י אִם־ מָאֹ֣ס מְאַסְתָּ֔נוּ קָצַ֥פְתָּ עָלֵ֖ינוּ עַד־ מְאֹֽד׃
