KJV ² Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD.

S21 ² «Transmets ces instructions aux Israélites: Quand vous serez entrés dans le pays que je vous donne, la terre se reposera, il y aura un sabbat en l'honneur de l'Eternel.

WLC ² דַּבֵּ֞ר אֶל־ בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֔ם כִּ֤י תָבֹ֙אוּ֙ אֶל־ הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲנִ֖י נֹתֵ֣ן לָכֶ֑ם וְשָׁבְתָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ שַׁבָּ֖ת לַיהוָֽה׃

KJV ³ Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof;

S21 ³ Pendant 6 ans tu ensemenceras ton champ, pendant 6 ans tu tailleras ta vigne et tu en récolteras le produit.

WLC ³ שֵׁ֤שׁ שָׁנִים֙ תִּזְרַ֣ע שָׂדֶ֔ךָ וְשֵׁ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים תִּזְמֹ֣ר כַּרְמֶ֑ךָ וְאָסַפְתָּ֖ אֶת־ תְּבוּאָתָֽהּ׃

KJV ⁴ But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

S21 ⁴ Mais la septième année sera un sabbat, un temps de repos pour la terre, un sabbat en l'honneur de l'Eternel: tu n'ensemenceras pas ton champ et tu ne tailleras pas ta vigne,

WLC ⁴ וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗ת שַׁבַּ֤ת שַׁבָּתוֹן֙ יִהְיֶ֣ה לָאָ֔רֶץ שַׁבָּ֖ת לַיהוָ֑ה שָֽׂדְךָ֙ לֹ֣א תִזְרָ֔ע וְכַרְמְךָ֖ לֹ֥א תִזְמֹֽר׃

KJV ⁵ That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.

S21 ⁵ tu ne moissonneras pas ce qui proviendra des grains tombés de ta moisson et tu ne vendangeras pas les raisins de ta vigne non taillée. Ce sera une année de repos pour la terre.

WLC ⁵ אֵ֣ת סְפִ֤יחַ קְצִֽירְךָ֙ לֹ֣א תִקְצ֔וֹר וְאֶת־ עִנְּבֵ֥י נְזִירֶ֖ךָ לֹ֣א תִבְצֹ֑ר שְׁנַ֥ת שַׁבָּת֖וֹן יִהְיֶ֥ה לָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ⁶ And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee.

S21 ⁶ Ce que la terre produira pendant son sabbat vous servira de nourriture, à toi, à ton esclave et à ta servante, à ton salarié étranger et à l'immigré qui habitent avec toi,

WLC ⁶ וְ֠הָיְתָה שַׁבַּ֨ת הָאָ֤רֶץ לָכֶם֙ לְאָכְלָ֔ה לְךָ֖ וּלְעַבְדְּךָ֣ וְלַאֲמָתֶ֑ךָ וְלִשְׂכִֽירְךָ֙ וּלְתוֹשָׁ֣בְךָ֔ הַגָּרִ֖ים עִמָּֽךְ׃

KJV ⁷ And for thy cattle, and for the beast that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.

S21 ⁷ à ton bétail et aux animaux qui sont dans ton pays; tout ce qu'elle produit servira de nourriture.

WLC ⁷ וְלִ֨בְהֶמְתְּךָ֔ וְלַֽחַיָּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּאַרְצֶ֑ךָ תִּהְיֶ֥ה כָל־ תְּבוּאָתָ֖הּ לֶאֱכֹֽל׃

KJV ⁸ And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.

S21 ⁸ »Tu compteras 7 années sabbatiques, 7 fois 7 ans, c'est-à-dire 49 ans.

WLC ⁸ וְסָפַרְתָּ֣ לְךָ֗ שֶׁ֚בַע שַׁבְּתֹ֣ת שָׁנִ֔ים שֶׁ֥בַע שָׁנִ֖ים שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֑ים וְהָי֣וּ לְךָ֗ יְמֵי֙ שֶׁ֚בַע שַׁבְּתֹ֣ת הַשָּׁנִ֔ים תֵּ֥שַׁע וְאַרְבָּעִ֖ים שָׁנָֽה׃

KJV ⁹ Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

S21 ⁹ Le dixième jour du septième mois, tu feras retentir les sons éclatants de la trompette: le jour des expiations, vous sonnerez de la trompette dans tout votre pays.

WLC ⁹ וְהַֽעֲבַרְתָּ֞ שׁוֹפַ֤ר תְּרוּעָה֙ בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִעִ֔י בֶּעָשׂ֖וֹר לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ בְּיוֹם֙ הַכִּפֻּרִ֔ים תַּעֲבִ֥ירוּ שׁוֹפָ֖ר בְּכָל־ אַרְצְכֶֽם׃

KJV ¹⁰ And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

S21 ¹⁰ Vous ferez de cette cinquantième année une année sainte, vous proclamerez la liberté dans le pays pour tous ses habitants. Ce sera pour vous le jubilé: chacun de vous retournera dans sa propriété et dans son clan.

WLC ¹⁰ וְקִדַּשְׁתֶּ֗ם אֵ֣ת שְׁנַ֤ת הַחֲמִשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּקְרָאתֶ֥ם דְּר֛וֹר בָּאָ֖רֶץ לְכָל־ יֹשְׁבֶ֑יהָ יוֹבֵ֥ל הִוא֙ תִּהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֔ם וְשַׁבְתֶּ֗ם אִ֚ישׁ אֶל־ אֲחֻזָּת֔וֹ וְאִ֥ישׁ אֶל־ מִשְׁפַּחְתּ֖וֹ תָּשֻֽׁבוּ׃

KJV ¹¹ A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.

S21 ¹¹ La cinquantième année sera pour vous le jubilé: vous ne sèmerez pas, vous ne moissonnerez pas ce que les champs produiront d'eux-mêmes et vous ne vendangerez pas la vigne non taillée,

WLC ¹¹ יוֹבֵ֣ל הִ֗וא שְׁנַ֛ת הַחֲמִשִּׁ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה תִּהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֑ם לֹ֣א תִזְרָ֔עוּ וְלֹ֤א תִקְצְרוּ֙ אֶת־ סְפִיחֶ֔יהָ וְלֹ֥א תִבְצְר֖וּ אֶת־ נְזִרֶֽיהָ׃

KJV ¹² For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

S21 ¹² car c'est le jubilé; vous le considérerez comme saint. Vous mangerez le produit de vos champs.

WLC ¹² כִּ֚י יוֹבֵ֣ל הִ֔וא קֹ֖דֶשׁ תִּהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֑ם מִן־ הַ֨שָּׂדֶ֔ה תֹּאכְל֖וּ אֶת־ תְּבוּאָתָֽהּ׃

KJV ¹³ In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.

S21 ¹³ Dans cette année de jubilé, chacun de vous retournera dans sa propriété.

WLC ¹³ בִּשְׁנַ֥ת הַיּוֹבֵ֖ל הַזֹּ֑את תָּשֻׁ֕בוּ אִ֖ישׁ אֶל־ אֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹⁴ And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour's hand, ye shall not oppress one another:

S21 ¹⁴ Si vous vendez ou achetez un terrain à votre prochain, qu'aucun de vous ne lèse son frère.

WLC ¹⁴ וְכִֽי־ תִמְכְּר֤וּ מִמְכָּר֙ לַעֲמִיתֶ֔ךָ א֥וֹ קָנֹ֖ה מִיַּ֣ד עֲמִיתֶ֑ךָ אַל־ תּוֹנ֖וּ אִ֥ישׁ אֶת־ אָחִֽיו׃

KJV ¹⁵ According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee:

S21 ¹⁵ Tu l'achèteras à ton prochain en comptant les années depuis le jubilé, et il te le vendra en comptant les années de récolte.

WLC ¹⁵ בְּמִסְפַּ֤ר שָׁנִים֙ אַחַ֣ר הַיּוֹבֵ֔ל תִּקְנֶ֖ה מֵאֵ֣ת עֲמִיתֶ֑ךָ בְּמִסְפַּ֥ר שְׁנֵֽי־ תְבוּאֹ֖ת יִמְכָּר־ לָֽךְ׃

KJV ¹⁶ According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits doth he sell unto thee.

S21 ¹⁶ Plus il y aura d'années de récolte, plus haut tu fixeras le prix, et moins il y aura d'années, plus bas tu le fixeras, car c'est le nombre des récoltes qu'il te vend.

WLC ¹⁶ לְפִ֣י ׀ רֹ֣ב הַשָּׁנִ֗ים תַּרְבֶּה֙ מִקְנָת֔וֹ וּלְפִי֙ מְעֹ֣ט הַשָּׁנִ֔ים תַּמְעִ֖יט מִקְנָת֑וֹ כִּ֚י מִסְפַּ֣ר תְּבוּאֹ֔ת ה֥וּא מֹכֵ֖ר לָֽךְ׃

KJV ¹⁷ Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God:for I am the LORD your God.

S21 ¹⁷ Aucun de vous ne lèsera son prochain et tu craindras ton Dieu, car je suis l'Eternel, votre Dieu.

WLC ¹⁷ וְלֹ֤א תוֹנוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־ עֲמִית֔וֹ וְיָרֵ֖אתָ מֵֽאֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃

KJV ¹⁸ Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.

S21 ¹⁸ »Mettez mes prescriptions en pratique, respectez et mettez en pratique mes règles, vous habiterez ainsi en sécurité dans le pays.

WLC ¹⁸ וַעֲשִׂיתֶם֙ אֶת־ חֻקֹּתַ֔י וְאֶת־ מִשְׁפָּטַ֥י תִּשְׁמְר֖וּ וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם אֹתָ֑ם וִֽישַׁבְתֶּ֥ם עַל־ הָאָ֖רֶץ לָבֶֽטַח׃

KJV ¹⁹ And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

S21 ¹⁹ Le pays donnera ses fruits, vous mangerez à satiété et vous y habiterez en sécurité.

WLC ¹⁹ וְנָתְנָ֤ה הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ פִּרְיָ֔הּ וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֖ם לָשֹׂ֑בַע וִֽישַׁבְתֶּ֥ם לָבֶ֖טַח עָלֶֽיהָ׃

KJV ²⁰ And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:

S21 ²⁰ Peut-être vous dites-vous: ‘Que mangerons-nous la septième année, puisque nous ne sèmerons pas et ne ferons pas nos récoltes?'

WLC ²⁰ וְכִ֣י תֹאמְר֔וּ מַה־ נֹּאכַ֤֖ל בַּשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשְּׁבִיעִ֑ת הֵ֚ן לֹ֣א נִזְרָ֔ע וְלֹ֥א נֶאֱסֹ֖ף אֶת־ תְּבוּאָתֵֽנוּ׃

KJV ²¹ Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.

S21 ²¹ Je vous accorderai ma bénédiction la sixième année et elle donnera des produits pour 3 ans.

WLC ²¹ וְצִוִּ֤יתִי אֶת־ בִּרְכָתִי֙ לָכֶ֔ם בַּשָּׁנָ֖ה הַשִּׁשִּׁ֑ית וְעָשָׂת֙ אֶת־ הַתְּבוּאָ֔ה לִשְׁלֹ֖שׁ הַשָּׁנִֽים׃

KJV ²² And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.

S21 ²² La huitième année, vous sèmerez et vous mangerez de l'ancienne récolte; jusqu'à la neuvième année, jusqu'à la nouvelle récolte, vous mangerez de l'ancienne.

WLC ²² וּזְרַעְתֶּ֗ם אֵ֚ת הַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשְּׁמִינִ֔ת וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֖ם מִן־ הַתְּבוּאָ֣ה יָשָׁ֑ן עַ֣ד ׀ הַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַתְּשִׁיעִ֗ת עַד־ בּוֹא֙ תְּב֣וּאָתָ֔הּ תֹּאכְל֖וּ יָשָֽׁן׃

KJV ²³ The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine, for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.

S21 ²³ »Les terres ne se vendront pas de façon définitive, car c'est à moi que le pays appartient et vous êtes chez moi comme des étrangers et des immigrés.

WLC ²³ וְהָאָ֗רֶץ לֹ֤א תִמָּכֵר֙ לִצְמִתֻ֔ת כִּי־ לִ֖י הָאָ֑רֶץ כִּֽי־ גֵרִ֧ים וְתוֹשָׁבִ֛ים אַתֶּ֖ם עִמָּדִֽי׃

KJV ²⁴ And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.

S21 ²⁴ Dans tout le pays dont vous aurez la possession, vous établirez un droit de rachat pour les terres.

WLC ²⁴ וּבְכֹ֖ל אֶ֣רֶץ אֲחֻזַּתְכֶ֑ם גְּאֻלָּ֖ה תִּתְּנ֥וּ לָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ²⁵ If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.

S21 ²⁵ »Si ton frère devient pauvre et vend une portion de sa propriété, celui qui a le droit de rachat, son plus proche parent, viendra et rachètera ce qu'a vendu son frère.

WLC ²⁵ כִּֽי־ יָמ֣וּךְ אָחִ֔יךָ וּמָכַ֖ר מֵאֲחֻזָּת֑וֹ וּבָ֤א גֹֽאֲלוֹ֙ הַקָּרֹ֣ב אֵלָ֔יו וְגָאַ֕ל אֵ֖ת מִמְכַּ֥ר אָחִֽיו׃

KJV ²⁶ And if the man have none to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it;

S21 ²⁶ Si quelqu'un n'a personne qui ait le droit de rachat et qu'il se procure lui-même de quoi faire son rachat,

WLC ²⁶ וְאִ֕ישׁ כִּ֛י לֹ֥א יִֽהְיֶה־ לּ֖וֹ גֹּאֵ֑ל וְהִשִּׂ֣יגָה יָד֔וֹ וּמָצָ֖א כְּדֵ֥י גְאֻלָּתֽוֹ׃

KJV ²⁷ Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession.

S21 ²⁷ il comptera les années depuis la vente, remboursera la différence à l'acheteur et retournera dans sa propriété.

WLC ²⁷ וְחִשַּׁב֙ אֶת־ שְׁנֵ֣י מִמְכָּר֔וֹ וְהֵשִׁיב֙ אֶת־ הָ֣עֹדֵ֔ף לָאִ֖ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר מָֽכַר־ ל֑וֹ וְשָׁ֖ב לַאֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ׃

KJV ²⁸ But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.

S21 ²⁸ S'il ne trouve pas de quoi lui faire ce remboursement, ce qu'il a vendu restera entre les mains de l'acheteur jusqu'à l'année du jubilé; lors du jubilé, il retournera dans sa propriété et l'acheteur en sortira.

WLC ²⁸ וְאִ֨ם לֹֽא־ מָֽצְאָ֜ה יָד֗וֹ דֵּי֮ הָשִׁ֣יב לוֹ֒ וְהָיָ֣ה מִמְכָּר֗וֹ בְּיַד֙ הַקֹּנֶ֣ה אֹת֔וֹ עַ֖ד שְׁנַ֣ת הַיּוֹבֵ֑ל וְיָצָא֙ בַּיֹּבֵ֔ל וְשָׁ֖ב לַאֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ׃

KJV ²⁹ And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; within a full year may he redeem it.

S21 ²⁹ »Si quelqu'un vend une maison d'habitation dans une ville pourvue de murs d'enceinte, il aura le droit de rachat durant une année entière à partir de la vente, son droit de rachat durera un an.

WLC ²⁹ וְאִ֗ישׁ כִּֽי־ יִמְכֹּ֤ר בֵּית־ מוֹשַׁב֙ עִ֣יר חוֹמָ֔ה וְהָיְתָה֙ גְּאֻלָּת֔וֹ עַד־ תֹּ֖ם שְׁנַ֣ת מִמְכָּר֑וֹ יָמִ֖ים תִּהְיֶ֥ה גְאֻלָּתֽוֹ׃

KJV ³⁰ And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile.

S21 ³⁰ Mais si cette maison située dans une ville pourvue de murs d'enceinte n'est pas rachetée avant la fin de l'année, elle restera définitivement à l'acheteur et à ses descendants; il n'en sortira pas lors du jubilé.

WLC ³⁰ וְאִ֣ם לֹֽא־ יִגָּאֵ֗ל עַד־ מְלֹ֣את לוֹ֮ שָׁנָ֣ה תְמִימָה֒ וְ֠קָם הַבַּ֨יִת אֲשֶׁר־ בָּעִ֜יר אֲשֶׁר־ חֹמָ֗ה לַצְּמִיתֻ֛ת לַקֹּנֶ֥ה אֹת֖וֹ לְדֹרֹתָ֑יו לֹ֥א יֵצֵ֖א בַּיֹּבֵֽל׃

KJV ³¹ But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubile.

S21 ³¹ Les maisons des villages dépourvus de murs d'enceinte seront considérées comme des fonds de terre: elles pourront être rachetées et l'acheteur en sortira lors du jubilé.

WLC ³¹ וּבָתֵּ֣י הַחֲצֵרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֵין־ לָהֶ֤ם חֹמָה֙ סָבִ֔יב עַל־ שְׂדֵ֥ה הָאָ֖רֶץ יֵחָשֵׁ֑ב גְּאֻלָּה֙ תִּהְיֶה־ לּ֔וֹ וּבַיֹּבֵ֖ל יֵצֵֽא׃

KJV ³² Notwithstanding the cities of the Levites, and the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.

S21 ³² »Quant aux villes des Lévites et aux maisons qu'ils y posséderont, les Lévites auront un droit perpétuel de rachat.

WLC ³² וְעָרֵי֙ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם בָּתֵּ֖י עָרֵ֣י אֲחֻזָּתָ֑ם גְּאֻלַּ֥ת עוֹלָ֖ם תִּהְיֶ֥ה לַלְוִיִּֽם׃

KJV ³³ And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the year of jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.

S21 ³³ Si quelqu'un achète une maison à des Lévites, il sortira de la maison vendue et de la ville où il la possédait lors du jubilé, car les maisons des villes des Lévites sont leur propriété au milieu des Israélites.

WLC ³³ וַאֲשֶׁ֤ר יִגְאַל֙ מִן־ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם וְיָצָ֧א מִמְכַּר־ בַּ֛יִת וְעִ֥יר אֲחֻזָּת֖וֹ בַּיֹּבֵ֑ל כִּ֣י בָתֵּ֞י עָרֵ֣י הַלְוִיִּ֗ם הִ֚וא אֲחֻזָּתָ֔ם בְּת֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV ³⁴ But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

S21 ³⁴ Les champs situés autour des villes des Lévites ne pourront pas être vendus, car ils en ont la possession pour toujours.

WLC ³⁴ וּֽשְׂדֵ֛ה מִגְרַ֥שׁ עָרֵיהֶ֖ם לֹ֣א יִמָּכֵ֑ר כִּֽי־ אֲחֻזַּ֥ת עוֹלָ֛ם ה֖וּא לָהֶֽם׃

KJV ³⁵ And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee.

S21 ³⁵ »Si ton frère devient pauvre et qu'il manque de ressources près de toi, tu le soutiendras, même s'il s'agit d'un étranger ou d'un immigré, afin qu'il vive avec toi.

WLC ³⁵ וְכִֽי־ יָמ֣וּךְ אָחִ֔יךָ וּמָ֥טָה יָד֖וֹ עִמָּ֑ךְ וְהֶֽחֱזַ֣קְתָּ בּ֔וֹ גֵּ֧ר וְתוֹשָׁ֛ב וָחַ֖י עִמָּֽךְ׃

KJV ³⁶ Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.

S21 ³⁶ Tu ne tireras de lui ni intérêt ni profit, tu craindras ton Dieu et ton frère vivra avec toi.

WLC ³⁶ אַל־ תִּקַּ֤ח מֵֽאִתּוֹ֙ נֶ֣שֶׁךְ וְתַרְבִּ֔ית וְיָרֵ֖אתָ מֵֽאֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ וְחֵ֥י אָחִ֖יךָ עִמָּֽךְ׃

KJV ³⁷ Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.

S21 ³⁷ Tu ne lui prêteras pas ton argent à intérêt et tu ne lui prêteras pas ta nourriture pour en tirer un profit.

WLC ³⁷ אֶ֨ת־ כַּסְפְּךָ֔ לֹֽא־ תִתֵּ֥ן ל֖וֹ בְּנֶ֑שֶׁךְ וּבְמַרְבִּ֖ית לֹא־ תִתֵּ֥ן אָכְלֶֽךָ׃

KJV ³⁸ I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.

S21 ³⁸ Je suis l'Eternel, ton Dieu, qui vous ai fait sortir d'Egypte pour vous donner le pays de Canaan, pour être votre Dieu.

KJV ³⁹ And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant:

S21 ³⁹ »Si ton frère devient pauvre près de toi et se vend à toi, tu ne lui imposeras pas le travail d'un esclave.

WLC ³⁹ וְכִֽי־ יָמ֥וּךְ אָחִ֛יךָ עִמָּ֖ךְ וְנִמְכַּר־ לָ֑ךְ לֹא־ תַעֲבֹ֥ד בּ֖וֹ עֲבֹ֥דַת עָֽבֶד׃

KJV ⁴⁰ But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile.

S21 ⁴⁰ Il sera chez toi comme un salarié, comme un immigré; il sera à ton service jusqu'à l'année du jubilé.

WLC ⁴⁰ כְּשָׂכִ֥יר כְּתוֹשָׁ֖ב יִהְיֶ֣ה עִמָּ֑ךְ עַד־ שְׁנַ֥ת הַיֹּבֵ֖ל יַעֲבֹ֥ד עִמָּֽךְ׃

KJV ⁴¹ And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.

S21 ⁴¹ Il sortira alors de chez toi avec ses enfants et il retournera dans son clan, dans la propriété de ses ancêtres.

WLC ⁴¹ וְיָצָא֙ מֵֽעִמָּ֔ךְ ה֖וּא וּבָנָ֣יו עִמּ֑וֹ וְשָׁב֙ אֶל־ מִשְׁפַּחְתּ֔וֹ וְאֶל־ אֲחֻזַּ֥ת אֲבֹתָ֖יו יָשֽׁוּב׃

KJV ⁴² For they are my servants, which I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.

S21 ⁴² En effet, ils sont mes serviteurs, ceux que j'ai fait sortir d'Egypte; on ne les vendra pas comme on vend des esclaves.

WLC ⁴² כִּֽי־ עֲבָדַ֣י הֵ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־ הוֹצֵ֥אתִי אֹתָ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם לֹ֥א יִמָּכְר֖וּ מִמְכֶּ֥רֶת עָֽבֶד׃

KJV ⁴³ Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.

S21 ⁴³ Tu ne domineras pas sur lui avec dureté et tu craindras ton Dieu.

WLC ⁴³ לֹא־ תִרְדֶּ֥ה ב֖וֹ בְּפָ֑רֶךְ וְיָרֵ֖אתָ מֵאֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃

KJV ⁴⁴ Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.

S21 ⁴⁴ C'est parmi les nations qui vous entourent que tu prendras le serviteur et la servante qui t'appartiendront, c'est d'elles que vous achèterez le serviteur et la servante.

WLC ⁴⁴ וְעַבְדְּךָ֥ וַאֲמָתְךָ֖ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִהְיוּ־ לָ֑ךְ מֵאֵ֣ת הַגּוֹיִ֗ם אֲשֶׁר֙ סְבִיבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם מֵהֶ֥ם תִּקְנ֖וּ עֶ֥בֶד וְאָמָֽה׃

KJV ⁴⁵ Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.

S21 ⁴⁵ Vous pourrez aussi en acheter parmi les enfants des immigrés en séjour chez toi, ainsi que parmi les familles auxquelles ils donneront naissance dans votre pays, et ils seront votre propriété.

WLC ⁴⁵ וְ֠גַם מִבְּנֵ֨י הַתּוֹשָׁבִ֜ים הַגָּרִ֤ים עִמָּכֶם֙ מֵהֶ֣ם תִּקְנ֔וּ וּמִמִּשְׁפַּחְתָּם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עִמָּכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר הוֹלִ֖ידוּ בְּאַרְצְכֶ֑ם וְהָי֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם לַֽאֲחֻזָּֽה׃

KJV ⁴⁶ And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.

S21 ⁴⁶ Vous les laisserez en héritage à vos enfants après vous comme une propriété, vous les garderez comme esclaves pour toujours. Mais en ce qui concerne vos frères, les Israélites, aucun de vous ne dominera avec dureté sur son frère.

WLC ⁴⁶ וְהִתְנַחֲלְתֶּ֨ם אֹתָ֜ם לִבְנֵיכֶ֤ם אַחֲרֵיכֶם֙ לָרֶ֣שֶׁת אֲחֻזָּ֔ה לְעֹלָ֖ם בָּהֶ֣ם תַּעֲבֹ֑דוּ וּבְאַ֨חֵיכֶ֤ם בְּנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אִ֣ישׁ בְּאָחִ֔יו לֹא־ תִרְדֶּ֥ה ב֖וֹ בְּפָֽרֶךְ׃

KJV ⁴⁷ And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger's family:

S21 ⁴⁷ »Si un étranger ou un immigré devient riche et que ton frère devienne pauvre près de lui et se vende à l'étranger immigré chez toi ou à quelqu'un de la famille de l'étranger,

WLC ⁴⁷ וְכִ֣י תַשִּׂ֗יג יַ֣ד גֵּ֤ר וְתוֹשָׁב֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ וּמָ֥ךְ אָחִ֖יךָ עִמּ֑וֹ וְנִמְכַּ֗ר לְגֵ֤ר תּוֹשָׁב֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ א֥וֹ לְעֵ֖קֶר מִשְׁפַּ֥חַת גֵּֽר׃

KJV ⁴⁸ After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:

S21 ⁴⁸ il y aura pour lui le droit de rachat, après qu'il se sera vendu: un de ses frères pourra le racheter.

WLC ⁴⁸ אַחֲרֵ֣י נִמְכַּ֔ר גְּאֻלָּ֖ה תִּהְיֶה־ לּ֑וֹ אֶחָ֥ד מֵאֶחָ֖יו יִגְאָלֶֽנּוּ׃

KJV ⁴⁹ Either his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself.

S21 ⁴⁹ Son oncle, le fils de son oncle ou l'un de ses proches parents pourra le racheter. Ou bien, s'il en a les moyens, il se rachètera lui-même.

WLC ⁴⁹ אוֹ־ דֹד֞וֹ א֤וֹ בֶן־ דֹּדוֹ֙ יִגְאָלֶ֔נּוּ אֽוֹ־ מִשְּׁאֵ֧ר בְּשָׂר֛וֹ מִמִּשְׁפַּחְתּ֖וֹ יִגְאָלֶ֑נּוּ אֽוֹ־ הִשִּׂ֥יגָה יָד֖וֹ וְנִגְאָֽל׃

KJV ⁵⁰ And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him.

S21 ⁵⁰ Il comptera avec celui qui l'a acheté le nombre d'années depuis celle où il s'est vendu jusqu'à l'année du jubilé. Le prix à payer dépendra du nombre d'années, évaluées comme celles d'un salarié:

WLC ⁵⁰ וְחִשַּׁב֙ עִם־ קֹנֵ֔הוּ מִשְּׁנַת֙ הִמָּ֣כְרוֹ ל֔וֹ עַ֖ד שְׁנַ֣ת הַיֹּבֵ֑ל וְהָיָ֞ה כֶּ֤סֶף מִמְכָּרוֹ֙ בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שָׁנִ֔ים כִּימֵ֥י שָׂכִ֖יר יִהְיֶ֥ה עִמּֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁵¹ If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.

S21 ⁵¹ s'il reste beaucoup d'années, il paiera pour son rachat une part proportionnelle du prix auquel il a été acheté;

WLC ⁵¹ אִם־ ע֥וֹד רַבּ֖וֹת בַּשָּׁנִ֑ים לְפִיהֶן֙ יָשִׁ֣יב גְּאֻלָּת֔וֹ מִכֶּ֖סֶף מִקְנָתֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁵² And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption.

S21 ⁵² s'il reste peu d'années jusqu'à celle du jubilé, il en fera le compte et il paiera pour son rachat une part proportionnelle.

WLC ⁵² וְאִם־ מְעַ֞ט נִשְׁאַ֧ר בַּשָּׁנִ֛ים עַד־ שְׁנַ֥ת הַיֹּבֵ֖ל וְחִשַּׁב־ ל֑וֹ כְּפִ֣י שָׁנָ֔יו יָשִׁ֖יב אֶת־ גְּאֻלָּתֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁵³ And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight.

S21 ⁵³ Il sera comme un homme salarié à l'année chez son maître et tu ne permettras pas à celui-ci de le traiter avec dureté.

WLC ⁵³ כִּשְׂכִ֥יר שָׁנָ֛ה בְּשָׁנָ֖ה יִהְיֶ֣ה עִמּ֑וֹ לֹֽא־ יִרְדֶּ֥נּֽוּ בְּפֶ֖רֶךְ לְעֵינֶֽיךָ׃

KJV ⁵⁴ And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him.

S21 ⁵⁴ S'il n'est racheté d'aucune de ces manières, il sortira l'année du jubilé, lui et ses enfants avec lui.

WLC ⁵⁴ וְאִם־ לֹ֥א יִגָּאֵ֖ל בְּאֵ֑לֶּה וְיָצָא֙ בִּשְׁנַ֣ת הַיֹּבֵ֔ל ה֖וּא וּבָנָ֥יו עִמּֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁵⁵ For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

S21 ⁵⁵ En effet, c'est de moi que les Israélites sont esclaves. Ils sont mes esclaves, que j'ai fait sortir d'Egypte. Je suis l'Eternel, votre Dieu.

WLC ⁵⁵ כִּֽי־ לִ֤י בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ עֲבָדִ֔ים עֲבָדַ֣י הֵ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־ הוֹצֵ֥אתִי אוֹתָ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם אֲנִ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃
