Luc 14KJV 1 And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.

TR1550 5 καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἶπεν τίνος ὑμῶν ὄνος ἢ βοῦς εἰς φρέαρ ἐμπεσεῖται, καὶ οὐκ εὐθέως ἀνασπάσει αὐτὸν ἐν τὴ ἡμέρᾳ τοῦ σαββάτου
KJV 6 And they could not answer him again to these things.

KJV 7 And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them.
TR1550 7 ἕλεγεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς κεκλημένους παραβολήν ἐπέχων πῶς τὰς πρωτοκλισίας ἐξελέγοντο λέγων πρὸς αὐτούς
KJV 8 When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
TR1550 8 ὅταν κληθῇς ὑπό τινος εἰς γάμους μὴ κατακλιθῇς εἰς τὴν πρωτοκλισίαν μήποτε ἐντιμότερός σου ᾖ κεκλημένος ὑπ᾽ αὐτοῦ
KJV 9 And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
TR1550 9 καὶ ἐλθὼν ὁ σὲ καὶ αὐτὸν καλέσας ἐρεῖ σοι δὸς τούτῳ τόπον καὶ τότε ἄρξῃ μετ᾽ αἰσχύνης τὸν ἔσχατον τόπον κατέχειν
KJV 10 But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
TR1550 10 ἀλλ᾽ ὅταν κληθῇς πορευθεὶς ἀνάπεσον εἰς τὸν ἔσχατον τόπον ἵνα ὅταν ἔλθῃ ὁ κεκληκώς σε εἴπῃ σοι φίλε προσανάβηθι ἀνώτερον τότε ἔσται σοι δόξα ἐνώπιον τῶν συνανακειμένων σοι
KJV 11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
TR1550 11 ὅτι πᾶς ὁ ὑψῶν ἑαυτὸν ταπεινωθήσεται καὶ ὁ ταπεινῶν ἑαυτὸν ὑψωθήσεται
KJV 12 Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
TR1550 12 ἕλεγεν δὲ καὶ τῷ κεκληκότι αὐτόν ὅταν ποιῇς ἄριστον ἢ δεῖπνον μὴ φώνει τοὺς φίλους σου μηδὲ τοὺς ἀδελφούς σου μηδὲ τοὺς συγγενεῖς σου μηδὲ γείτονας πλουσίους μήποτε καὶ αὐτοὶ σε ἀντικαλέσωσίν καὶ γένηται σοι ἀνταπόδομά
KJV 13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
TR1550 13 ἀλλ᾽ ὅταν ποιῇς δοχὴν κάλει πτωχούς ἀναπήρους, χωλούς τυφλούς
KJV 14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
TR1550 14 καὶ μακάριος ἔσῃ ὅτι οὐκ ἔχουσιν ἀνταποδοῦναί σοι ἀνταποδοθήσεται γάρ σοι ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει τῶν δικαίων
KJV 15 And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
TR1550 15 ἀκούσας δέ τις τῶν συνανακειμένων ταῦτα εἶπεν αὐτῷ μακάριος ὃς φάγεται ἄρτον ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ
KJV 16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
TR1550 16 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ἄνθρωπός τις ἐποίησεν δεῖπνον μέγα καὶ ἐκάλεσεν πολλούς
KJV 17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
TR1550 17 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τὸν δοῦλον αὐτοῦ τῇ ὥρᾳ τοῦ δείπνου εἰπεῖν τοῖς κεκλημένοις ἕρχεσθε ὅτι ἤδη ἕτοιμά ἐστιν πάντα
KJV 18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
TR1550 18 καὶ ἤρξαντο ἀπὸ μιᾶς παραιτεῖσθαι πάντες ὁ πρῶτος εἶπεν αὐτῷ ἀγρὸν ἠγόρασα καὶ ἔχω ἀνάγκην ἐξελθεῖν καὶ ἰδεῖν αὐτόν ἐρωτῶ σε ἔχε με παρῃτημένον
KJV 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
TR1550 19 καὶ ἕτερος εἶπεν ξεύγη βοῶν ἠγόρασα πέντε καὶ πορεύομαι δοκιμάσαι αὐτά ἐρωτῶ σε ἔχε με παρῃτημένον
KJV 20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
TR1550 20 καὶ ἕτερος εἶπεν γυναῖκα ἔγημα καὶ διὰ τοῦτο οὐ δύναμαι ἐλθεῖν
KJV 21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
TR1550 21 καὶ παραγενόμενος ὁ δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος ἀπήγγειλεν τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτοῦ ταῦτα τότε ὀργισθεὶς ὁ οἰκοδεσπότης εἶπεν τῷ δούλῳ αὐτοῦ ἕξελθε ταχέως εἰς τὰς πλατείας καὶ ῥύμας τῆς πόλεως καὶ τοὺς πτωχοὺς καὶ ἀναπήρους καὶ χωλοὺς καὶ τυφλοὺς εἰσάγαγε ὧδε
KJV 22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
TR1550 22 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ δοῦλος κύριε γέγονεν ὡς ἐπέταξας καὶ ἔτι τόπος ἐστίν
KJV 23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
TR1550 23 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ κύριος πρὸς τὸν δοῦλον ἕξελθε εἰς τὰς ὁδοὺς καὶ φραγμοὺς καὶ ἀνάγκασον εἰσελθεῖν ἵνα γεμισθῇ ὁ οἶκος μου
KJV 24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

KJV 26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
TR1550 26 εἴ τις ἔρχεται πρός με καὶ οὐ μισεῖ τὸν πατέρα ἑαυτοῦ καὶ τὴν μητέρα καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα καὶ τὰ τέκνα καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς καὶ τὰς ἀδελφάς ἔτι δέ καὶ τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ψυχὴν οὐ δύναται μου μαθητής εἶναί
KJV 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
TR1550 27 καὶ ὅστις οὐ βαστάζει τὸν σταυρὸν αὑτοῦ καὶ ἔρχεται ὀπίσω μου οὐ δύναται μου εἶναί μαθητής
KJV 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
TR1550 28 τίς γὰρ ἐξ ὑμῶν θέλων πύργον οἰκοδομῆσαι οὐχὶ πρῶτον καθίσας ψηφίζει τὴν δαπάνην εἰ ἔχει τὰ πρὸς ἀπαρτισμόν
KJV 29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
TR1550 29 ἵνα μήποτε θέντος αὐτοῦ θεμέλιον καὶ μὴ ἰσχύοντος ἐκτελέσαι πάντες οἱ θεωροῦντες ἄρξωνται ἐμπαίζειν αὐτῷ
KJV 30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
TR1550 30 λέγοντες ὅτι οὗτος ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἤρξατο οἰκοδομεῖν καὶ οὐκ ἴσχυσεν ἐκτελέσαι
KJV 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
TR1550 31 ἢ τίς βασιλεὺς πορευόμενος συμβαλεῖν ἑτέρῳ βασιλεῖ εἰς πόλεμον οὐχὶ καθίσας πρῶτον βουλεύεται εἰ δυνατός ἐστιν ἐν δέκα χιλιάσιν ἀπαντῆσαι τῷ μετὰ εἴκοσι χιλιάδων ἐρχομένῳ ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν
KJV 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
TR1550 32 εἰ δὲ μήγε, ἔτι αὐτοῦ πόῤῥω ὄντος πρεσβείαν ἀποστείλας ἐρωτᾷ τὰ πρὸς εἰρήνην
KJV 33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
TR1550 33 οὕτως οὖν πᾶς ἐξ ὑμῶν ὃς οὐκ ἀποτάσσεται πᾶσιν τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ ὑπάρχουσιν οὐ δύναται μου εἶναί μαθητής
KJV 34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
TR1550 34 καλὸν τὸ ἅλας ἐὰν δὲ τὸ ἅλας μωρανθῇ ἐν τίνι ἀρτυθήσεται
KJV 35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
