KJV ¹ And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

KJV ² And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.

KJV ³ And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.

MAR ³ Tâchait de voir lequel était Jésus, mais il ne pouvait à cause de la foule, car il était petit.

KJV ⁴ And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.

MAR ⁴ C'est pourquoi il accourut devant, et monta sur un sycomore pour le voir ; car il devait passer par là.

KJV ⁵ And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

MAR ⁵ Et quand Jésus fut venu à cet endroit-là, regardant en haut, il le vit, et lui dit : Zachée, descends promptement ; car il faut que je demeure aujourd'hui dans ta maison.

KJV ⁶ And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

MAR ⁶ Et il descendit promptement, et le reçut avec joie.

KJV ⁷ And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.

MAR ⁷ Et tous voyant cela murmuraient, disant qu'il était entré chez un homme de mauvaise vie pour y loger.

KJV ⁸ And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

MAR ⁸ Et Zachée se présentant là, dit au Seigneur : Voici, Seigneur, je donne la moitié de mes biens aux pauvres ; et si j'ai fait tort à quelqu'un en quelque chose, j'en rends le quadruple.

KJV ⁹ And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

MAR ⁹ Et Jésus lui dit : aujourd'hui le salut est entré dans cette maison ; parce que celui-ci aussi est fils d'Abraham.

KJV ¹⁰ For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

MAR ¹⁰ Car le Fils de l'homme est venu chercher et sauver ce qui était perdu.

KJV ¹¹ And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.

MAR ¹¹ Et comme ils entendaient ces choses, Jésus poursuivit son discours, et proposa une parabole, parce qu'il était près de Jérusalem, et qu'ils pensaient qu'à l'instant le Règne de Dieu devait être manifesté.

KJV ¹² He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

MAR ¹² Il dit donc : un homme noble s'en alla dans un pays éloigné, pour se mettre en possession d'un Royaume, mais dans la vue de revenir.

KJV ¹³ And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

MAR ¹³ Et ayant appelé dix de ses serviteurs, il leur donna dix marcs d'argent et leur dit : Faites-les valoir jusqu'à ce que je vienne.

KJV ¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

MAR ¹⁴ Or ses citoyens le haïssaient : c'est pourquoi ils envoyèrent après lui une députation, pour dire : nous ne voulons pas que celui-ci règne sur nous.

KJV ¹⁵ And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

MAR ¹⁵ Il arriva donc après qu'il fut retourné, et qu'il se fut mis en possession du Royaume, qu'il commanda qu'on lui appelât ces serviteurs à qui il avait confié [son] argent, afin qu'il sût combien chacun aurait gagné par son trafic.

KJV ¹⁶ Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.

MAR ¹⁶ Alors le premier vint, disant : Seigneur, ton marc a produit dix autres marcs.

KJV ¹⁷ And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

MAR ¹⁷ Et il lui dit : cela va bien, bon serviteur ; parce que tu as été fidèle en peu de chose, aie puissance sur dix villes.

KJV ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.

MAR ¹⁸ Et un autre vint, disant : Seigneur, ton marc en a produit cinq autres.

KJV ¹⁹ And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.

MAR ¹⁹ Et il dit aussi à celui-ci : et toi, sois établi sur cinq villes.

KJV ²⁰ And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:

MAR ²⁰ Et un autre vint, disant : Seigneur, voici ton marc que j'ai tenu enveloppé dans un linge ;

KJV ²¹ For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.

MAR ²¹ Car je t'ai craint, parce que tu es un homme sévère ; tu prends ce que tu n'as point mis, et tu moissonnes ce que tu n'as point semé.

KJV ²² And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:

MAR ²² Et il lui dit : méchant serviteur, je te jugerai par ta propre parole : tu savais que je suis un homme sévère, prenant ce que je n'ai point mis, et moissonnant ce que je n'ai point semé ;

KJV ²³ Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?

MAR ²³ Pourquoi donc n'as-tu pas mis mon argent à la banque, et à mon retour je l'eusse retiré avec l'intérêt ?

KJV ²⁴ And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.

MAR ²⁴ Alors il dit à ceux qui étaient présents : Otez-lui le marc, et donnez-le à celui qui a les dix.

KJV ²⁵ (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)

MAR ²⁵ Et ils lui dirent : Seigneur, il a dix marcs.

KJV ²⁶ For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.

MAR ²⁶ Ainsi je vous dis, qu'à chacun qui aura, il sera donné ; et à celui qui n'a rien, cela même qu'il a, lui sera ôté.

KJV ²⁷ But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

MAR ²⁷ Au reste, amenez ici ces ennemis qui n'ont pas voulu que je régnasse sur eux, et tuez-les devant moi.

KJV ²⁸ And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.

MAR ²⁸ Et ayant dit ces choses, il allait devant [eux], montant à Jérusalem.

KJV ²⁹ And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

MAR ²⁹ Et il arriva comme il approchait de Bethphagé et de Béthanie, vers la montagne appelée des oliviers, qu'il envoya deux de ses Disciples,

KJV ³⁰ Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.

MAR ³⁰ En leur disant : allez à la bourgade qui est vis-à-vis de vous, et y étant entrés, vous trouverez un ânon attaché, sur lequel jamais homme n'est monté ; détachez-le, et amenez-le-moi.

KJV ³¹ And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.

MAR ³¹ Que si quelqu'un vous demande pourquoi vous le détachez, vous lui direz ainsi : c'est parce que le Seigneur en a besoin.

KJV ³² And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.

MAR ³² Et ceux qui étaient envoyés s'en allèrent, et trouvèrent [l'ânon] comme il le leur avait dit.

KJV ³³ And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?

MAR ³³ Et comme ils détachaient l'ânon, les maîtres leur dirent : pourquoi détachez-vous cet ânon ?

KJV ³⁴ And they said, The Lord hath need of him.

MAR ³⁴ Ils répondirent : le Seigneur en a besoin.

KJV ³⁵ And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.

MAR ³⁵ Ils l'emmenèrent donc à Jésus, et ils jetèrent leurs vêtements sur l'ânon ; puis ils mirent Jésus dessus.

KJV ³⁶ And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.

MAR ³⁶ En même temps qu'il marchait, ils étendaient leurs vêtements par le chemin.

KJV ³⁷ And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

MAR ³⁷ Et lorsqu'il fut proche de la descente de la montagne des oliviers, toute la multitude des Disciples se réjouissant, se mit à louer Dieu à haute voix, pour tous les miracles qu'ils avaient vus ;

KJV ³⁸ Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

MAR ³⁸ Disant : béni soit le Roi qui vient au Nom du Seigneur ; que la paix soit dans le ciel, et la gloire dans les lieux très-hauts.

KJV ³⁹ And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.

MAR ³⁹ Et quelques-uns d'entre les Pharisiens de la troupe lui dirent : Maître, reprends tes Disciples.

KJV ⁴⁰ And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

MAR ⁴⁰ Et Jésus répondant, leur dit : je vous dis que si ceux-ci se taisent, les pierres mêmes crieront.

KJV ⁴¹ And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

MAR ⁴¹ Et quand il fut proche, voyant la ville, il pleura sur elle, en disant :

KJV ⁴² Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

MAR ⁴² O ! si toi aussi eusses connu, au moins en cette tienne journée, les choses qui appartiennent à ta paix ! mais maintenant elles sont cachées devant tes yeux.

KJV ⁴³ For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,

MAR ⁴³ Car les jours viendront sur toi que tes ennemis t'environneront de tranchées, ils t'enfermeront, et t'enserreront de tous côtés ;

KJV ⁴⁴ And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

MAR ⁴⁴ Et te raseront, toi et tes enfants qui sont au-dedans de toi, et ils ne laisseront en toi pierre sur pierre, parce que tu n'as point connu le temps de ta visitation.

KJV ⁴⁵ And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;

MAR ⁴⁵ Puis étant entré au Temple, il commença à chasser dehors ceux qui y vendaient et qui y achetaient.

KJV ⁴⁶ Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

MAR ⁴⁶ Leur disant : il est écrit : ma Maison est la Maison de prière ; mais vous en avez fait une caverne de voleurs.

KJV ⁴⁷ And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,

MAR ⁴⁷ Et il était tous les jours enseignant dans le Temple, et les principaux Sacrificateurs et les Scribes, tâchaient de le faire mourir.

KJV ⁴⁸ And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

MAR ⁴⁸ Mais ils ne trouvaient rien qu'ils lui pussent faire ; car tout le peuple était fort attentif à l'écouter.

KJV ¹ And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,

MAR ¹ Et il arriva un de ces jours-là, comme il enseignait le peuple dans le Temple, et qu'il évangélisait, que les principaux Sacrificateurs et les Scribes survinrent avec les Anciens.

KJV ² And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?

MAR ² Et ils lui parlèrent, en disant : dis-nous par quelle autorité tu fais ces choses, ou qui est celui qui t'a donné cette autorité ?

KJV ³ And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:

MAR ³ Et Jésus répondant leur dit : je vous interrogerai aussi sur un article, et répondez-moi.

KJV ⁴ The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?

MAR ⁴ Le Baptême de Jean était-il du ciel, ou des hommes ?

KJV ⁵ And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?

MAR ⁵ Or ils disputaient entre eux, disant : si nous disons : du ciel ; il dira : pourquoi donc ne l'avez-vous point cru ?

KJV ⁶ But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.

MAR ⁶ Et si nous disons : des hommes, tout le peuple nous lapidera ; car ils sont persuadés que Jean était un Prophète ;

KJV ⁷ And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.

MAR ⁷ C'est pourquoi ils répondirent qu'ils ne savaient d'où il était.

KJV ⁸ And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

MAR ⁸ Et Jésus leur dit : je ne vous dirai point aussi par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.

KJV ⁹ Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.

MAR ⁹ Alors il se mit à dire au peuple cette parabole : Un homme planta une vigne, et la loua à des vignerons, et fut longtemps dehors.

KJV ¹⁰ And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.

MAR ¹⁰ Et dans la saison [du fruit], il envoya un serviteur vers les vignerons, afin qu'ils lui donnassent du fruit de la vigne, mais les vignerons l'ayant battu, le renvoyèrent à vide.

KJV ¹¹ And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

MAR ¹¹ Il leur envoya encore un autre serviteur ; mais ils le battirent aussi, et après l'avoir traité indignement, ils le renvoyèrent à vide.

KJV ¹² And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.

MAR ¹² Il en envoya encore un troisième, mais ils le blessèrent aussi, et le jetèrent dehors.

KJV ¹³ Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.

MAR ¹³ Alors le seigneur de la vigne dit : que ferai-je ? j'y enverrai mon fils, le bien aimé ; peut-être que quand ils le verront, ils le respecteront.

KJV ¹⁴ But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.

MAR ¹⁴ Mais quand les vignerons le virent, ils raisonnèrent entre eux, en disant : celui-ci est l'héritier ; venez, tuons-le, afin que l'héritage soit à nous.

KJV ¹⁵ So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?

MAR ¹⁵ Et ils le jetèrent hors de la vigne, et le tuèrent. Que leur fera donc le maître de la vigne ?

KJV ¹⁶ He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

MAR ¹⁶ Il viendra, et fera périr ces vignerons-là, et il donnera la vigne à d'autres. Ce qu'eux ayant entendu, ils dirent : à Dieu ne plaise !

KJV ¹⁷ And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?

MAR ¹⁷ Alors il les regarda, et dit : que veut donc dire ce qui est écrit : la pierre que ceux qui bâtissent ont rejetée, est devenue la maîtresse pierre du coin ?

KJV ¹⁸ Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

MAR ¹⁸ Quiconque tombera sur cette pierre, sera brisé ; et elle écrasera celui sur qui elle tombera.

KJV ¹⁹ And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.

MAR ¹⁹ Les principaux Sacrificateurs et les Scribes cherchèrent dans ce même instant à mettre les mains sur lui : car ils connurent bien qu'il avait dit cette parabole contre eux, mais ils craignirent le peuple.

KJV ²⁰ And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.

MAR ²⁰ Et l'observant ils envoyèrent des gens concertés, qui contrefaisaient les gens de bien, pour le surprendre en paroles, afin de le livrer à la domination et à la puissance du Gouverneur,

KJV ²¹ And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:

MAR ²¹ Lesquels l'interrogèrent, en disant : Maître, nous savons que tu parles et que tu enseignes conformément à la justice, et que tu ne regardes point à l'apparence des personnes, mais que tu enseignes la voie de Dieu en vérité.

KJV ²² Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?

MAR ²² Nous est-il permis de payer le tribut à César, ou non ?

KJV ²³ But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?

MAR ²³ Mais lui ayant aperçu leur ruse, leur dit : pourquoi me tentez-vous ?

KJV ²⁴ Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.

MAR ²⁴ Montrez-moi un denier ; de qui a-t-il l'image et l'inscription ? ils lui répondirent : de César.

KJV ²⁵ And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.

MAR ²⁵ Et il leur dit : rendez donc à César les choses qui sont à César ; et à Dieu les choses qui sont à Dieu.

KJV ²⁶ And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.

MAR ²⁶ Ainsi ils ne purent rien trouver à redire dans sa réponse en présence du peuple ; mais tout étonnés de sa réponse, ils se turent.

KJV ²⁷ Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,

MAR ²⁷ Alors quelques-uns des Sadducéens, qui nient formellement la résurrection, s'approchèrent, et l'interrogèrent,

KJV ²⁸ Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

MAR ²⁸ Disant : Maître, Moïse nous a laissé par écrit, que si le frère de quelqu'un est mort ayant une femme, et qu'il soit mort sans enfants, son frère prenne sa femme, et qu'il suscite des enfants à son frère.

KJV ²⁹ There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.

MAR ²⁹ Or il y eut sept frères, dont l'aîné prit une femme, et mourut sans enfants.

KJV ³⁰ And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.

MAR ³⁰ Et le second la prit, et mourut aussi sans enfants.

KJV ³¹ And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.

MAR ³¹ Puis le troisième la prit, et de même tous les sept ; et ils moururent sans avoir laissé des enfants.

KJV ³² Last of all the woman died also.

MAR ³² Et après tous la femme aussi mourut.

KJV ³³ Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.

MAR ³³ Duquel d'eux donc sera-t-elle femme en la résurrection ? car les sept l'ont eue pour femme.

KJV ³⁴ And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

MAR ³⁴ Et Jésus répondant leur dit : les enfants de ce siècle prennent et sont pris en mariage.

KJV ³⁵ But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

MAR ³⁵ Mais ceux qui seront faits dignes d'obtenir ce siècle-là et la résurrection des morts, ne prendront ni ne seront pris en mariage ;

KJV ³⁶ Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

MAR ³⁶ Car ils ne pourront plus mourir, parce qu'ils seront semblables aux Anges, et qu'ils seront fils de Dieu, étant fils de la résurrection.

KJV ³⁷ Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

MAR ³⁷ Or que les morts ressuscitent, Moïse même l'a montré auprès du buisson, quand il appelle le Seigneur le Dieu d'Abraham, et le Dieu d'Isaac, et le Dieu de Jacob.

KJV ³⁸ For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

MAR ³⁸ Or il n'est point le Dieu des morts, mais des vivants : car tous vivent en lui.

KJV ³⁹ Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.

MAR ³⁹ Et quelques-uns des Scribes prenant la parole, dirent : Maître, tu as bien dit.

KJV ⁴⁰ And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.

MAR ⁴⁰ Et ils ne l'osèrent plus interroger de rien.

KJV ⁴¹ And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son?

MAR ⁴¹ Mais lui leur dit : comment dit-on que le Christ est Fils de David.

KJV ⁴² And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

MAR ⁴² Car David lui-même dit au Livre des Psaumes : le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur : assieds-toi à ma droite,

KJV ⁴³ Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

MAR ⁴³ Jusqu'à ce que j'aie mis tes ennemis pour le marchepied de tes pieds.

KJV ⁴⁴ David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?

MAR ⁴⁴ [Puis] donc que David l'appelle [son] Seigneur, comment, est-il son Fils ?

KJV ⁴⁵ Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,

MAR ⁴⁵ Et comme tout le peuple écoutait, il dit à ses Disciples :

KJV ⁴⁶ Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;

MAR ⁴⁶ Donnez-vous garde des Scribes, qui se plaisent à se promener en robes longues, et qui aiment les salutations dans les marchés, et les premières chaires dans les Synagogues, et les premières places dans les festins ;

KJV ⁴⁷ Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

MAR ⁴⁷ Et qui dévorent entièrement les maisons des veuves, même sous prétexte de faire de longues prières ; car ils en recevront une plus grande condamnation.
