s'en aller en paix, conformément à ta promesse,

KJV ³⁰ For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

S21 ³⁰ car mes yeux ont vu ton salut,

KJV ³¹ Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

S21 ³¹ salut que tu as préparé devant tous les peuples,

KJV ³² A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

S21 ³² lumière pour éclairer les nations
et gloire d'Israël, ton peuple.»

KJV ³³ And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

S21 ³³ Joseph et la mère [de Jésus] étaient émerveillés de ce qu'on disait de lui.

KJV ³⁴ And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

S21 ³⁴ Siméon les bénit et dit à Marie, sa mère: «Cet enfant est destiné à amener la chute et le relèvement de beaucoup en Israël et à devenir un signe qui provoquera la contradiction.

KJV ³⁵ (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

S21 ³⁵ Toi-même, une épée te transpercera l'âme. Ainsi, les pensées de beaucoup de cœurs seront révélées.»

KJV ³⁶ And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

S21 ³⁶ Il y avait aussi une prophétesse, Anne, fille de Phanuel, de la tribu d'Aser. Elle était d'un âge très avancé. Elle n'avait vécu que 7 ans avec son mari après son mariage.

KJV ³⁷ And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

S21 ³⁷ Restée veuve et âgée de 84 ans, elle ne quittait pas le temple; elle servait Dieu nuit et jour dans le jeûne et dans la prière.

KJV ³⁸ And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

S21 ³⁸ Arrivée elle aussi à la même heure, elle disait publiquement sa reconnaissance envers Dieu et parlait de Jésus à tous ceux qui attendaient la délivrance à Jérusalem.
