WLC ¹ מַשָּׂ֥א דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל בְּיַ֖ד מַלְאָכִֽי׃

KJV ² I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,

VULC ² Dilexi vos, dicit Dominus, et dixistis : In quo dilexisti nos ? Nonne frater erat Esau Jacob ? dicit Dominus : et dilexi Jacob,

WLC ² אָהַ֤בְתִּי אֶתְכֶם֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם בַּמָּ֣ה אֲהַבְתָּ֑נוּ הֲלוֹא־ אָ֨ח עֵשָׂ֤ו לְיַֽעֲקֹב֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה וָאֹהַ֖ב אֶֽת־ יַעֲקֹֽב׃

KJV ³ And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

VULC ³ Esau autem odio habui, et posui montes ejus in solitudinem, et hæreditatem ejus in dracones deserti.

WLC ³ וְאֶת־ עֵשָׂ֖ו שָׂנֵ֑אתִי וָאָשִׂ֤ים אֶת־ הָרָיו֙ שְׁמָמָ֔ה וְאֶת־ נַחֲלָת֖וֹ לְתַנּ֥וֹת מִדְבָּֽר׃

KJV ⁴ Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.

VULC ⁴ Quod si dixerit Idumæa : Destructi sumus, sed revertentes ædificabimus quæ destructa sunt : hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Isti ædificabunt, et ego destruam : et vocabuntur termini impietatis, et populus cui iratus est Dominus usque in æternum.

WLC ⁴ כִּֽי־ תֹאמַ֨ר אֱד֜וֹם רֻשַּׁ֗שְׁנוּ וְנָשׁוּב֙ וְנִבְנֶ֣ה חֳרָב֔וֹת כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הֵ֥מָּה יִבְנ֖וּ וַאֲנִ֣י אֶהֱר֑וֹס וְקָרְא֤וּ לָהֶם֙ גְּב֣וּל רִשְׁעָ֔ה וְהָעָ֛ם אֲשֶׁר־ זָעַ֥ם יְהוָ֖ה עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ⁵ And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.

VULC ⁵ Et oculi vestri videbunt, et vos dicetis : Magnificetur Dominus super terminum Israël.

WLC ⁵ וְעֵינֵיכֶ֖ם תִּרְאֶ֑ינָה וְאַתֶּ֤ם תֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ יִגְדַּ֣ל יְהוָ֔ה מֵעַ֖ל לִגְב֥וּל יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV ⁶ A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

VULC ⁶ Filius honorat patrem, et servus dominum suum. Si ergo pater ego sum, ubi est honor meus ? et si Dominus ego sum, ubi est timor meus ? dicit Dominus exercituum. Ad vos, o sacerdotes, qui despicitis nomen meum, et dixistis : In quo despeximus nomen tuum ?

WLC ⁶ בֵּ֛ן יְכַבֵּ֥ד אָ֖ב וְעֶ֣בֶד אֲדֹנָ֑יו וְאִם־ אָ֣ב אָ֣נִי אַיֵּ֣ה כְבוֹדִ֡י וְאִם־ אֲדוֹנִ֣ים אָנִי֩ אַיֵּ֨ה מוֹרָאִ֜י אָמַ֣ר ׀ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת לָכֶם֙ הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ בּוֹזֵ֣י שְׁמִ֔י וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם בַּמֶּ֥ה בָזִ֖ינוּ אֶת־ שְׁמֶֽךָ׃

KJV ⁷ Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.

VULC ⁷ Offertis super altare meum panem pollutum, et dicitis : In quo polluimus te ? in eo quod dicitis : Mensa Domini despecta est.

WLC ⁷ מַגִּישִׁ֤ים עַֽל־ מִזְבְּחִי֙ לֶ֣חֶם מְגֹאָ֔ל וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם בַּמֶּ֣ה גֵֽאַלְנ֑וּךָ בֶּאֱמָרְכֶ֕ם שֻׁלְחַ֥ן יְהוָ֖ה נִבְזֶ֥ה הֽוּא׃

KJV ⁸ And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.

VULC ⁸ Si offeratis cæcum ad immolandum, nonne malum est ? et si offeratis claudum et languidum, nonne malum est ? offer illud duci tuo, si placuerit ei, aut si susceperit faciem tuam, dicit Dominus exercituum.

WLC ⁸ וְכִֽי־ תַגִּשׁ֨וּן עִוֵּ֤ר לִזְבֹּ֙חַ֙ אֵ֣ין רָ֔ע וְכִ֥י תַגִּ֛ישׁוּ פִּסֵּ֥חַ וְחֹלֶ֖ה אֵ֣ין רָ֑ע הַקְרִיבֵ֨הוּ נָ֜א לְפֶחָתֶ֗ךָ הֲיִּרְצְךָ֙ א֚וֹ הֲיִשָּׂ֣א פָנֶ֔יךָ אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃

KJV ⁹ And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.

VULC ⁹ Et nunc deprecamini vultum Dei ut misereatur vestri (de manu enim vestra factum est hoc), si quomodo suscipiat facies vestras, dicit Dominus exercituum.

WLC ⁹ וְעַתָּ֛ה חַלּוּ־ נָ֥א פְנֵי־ אֵ֖ל וִֽיחָנֵ֑נוּ מִיֶּדְכֶם֙ הָ֣יְתָה זֹּ֔את הֲיִשָּׂ֤א מִכֶּם֙ פָּנִ֔ים אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃

KJV ¹⁰ Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.

VULC ¹⁰ Quis est in vobis qui claudat ostia, et incendat altare meum gratuito ? non est mihi voluntas in vobis, dicit Dominus exercituum, et munus non suscipiam de manu vestra.

WLC ¹⁰ מִ֤י גַם־ בָּכֶם֙ וְיִסְגֹּ֣ר דְּלָתַ֔יִם וְלֹֽא־ תָאִ֥ירוּ מִזְבְּחִ֖י חִנָּ֑ם אֵֽין־ לִ֨י חֵ֜פֶץ בָּכֶ֗ם אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וּמִנְחָ֖ה לֹֽא־ אֶרְצֶ֥ה מִיֶּדְכֶֽם׃

KJV ¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.

VULC ¹¹ Ab ortu enim solis usque ad occasum, magnum est nomen meum in gentibus, et in omni loco sacrificatur : et offertur nomini meo oblatio munda, quia magnum est nomen meum in gentibus, dicit Dominus exercituum.

WLC ¹¹ כִּ֣י מִמִּזְרַח־ שֶׁ֜מֶשׁ וְעַד־ מְבוֹא֗וֹ גָּד֤וֹל שְׁמִי֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם וּבְכָל־ מָק֗וֹם מֻקְטָ֥ר מֻגָּ֛שׁ לִשְׁמִ֖י וּמִנְחָ֣ה טְהוֹרָ֑ה כִּֽי־ גָד֤וֹל שְׁמִי֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃

KJV ¹² But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.

VULC ¹² Et vos polluistis illud in eo quod dicitis : Mensa Domini contaminata est, et quod superponitur contemptibilis est, cum igne qui illud devorat.

WLC ¹² וְאַתֶּ֖ם מְחַלְּלִ֣ים אוֹת֑וֹ בֶּאֱמָרְכֶ֗ם שֻׁלְחַ֤ן אֲדֹנָי֙ מְגֹאָ֣ל ה֔וּא וְנִיב֖וֹ נִבְזֶ֥ה אָכְלֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹³ Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD.

VULC ¹³ Et dixistis : Ecce de labore, et exsufflastis illud, dicit Dominus exercituum : et intulistis de rapinis claudum et languidum, et intulistis munus : numquid suscipiam illud de manu vestra ? dicit Dominus.

WLC ¹³ וַאֲמַרְתֶּם֩ הִנֵּ֨ה מַתְּלָאָ֜ה וְהִפַּחְתֶּ֣ם אוֹת֗וֹ אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וַהֲבֵאתֶ֣ם גָּז֗וּל וְאֶת־ הַפִּסֵּ֙חַ֙ וְאֶת־ הַ֣חוֹלֶ֔ה וַהֲבֵאתֶ֖ם אֶת־ הַמִּנְחָ֑ה הַאֶרְצֶ֥ה אוֹתָ֛הּ מִיֶּדְכֶ֖ם אָמַ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹⁴ But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the LORD a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.

VULC ¹⁴ Maledictus dolosus qui habet in grege suo masculum, et votum faciens immolat debile Domino : quia rex magnus ego, dicit Dominus exercituum, et nomen meum horribile in gentibus.

WLC ¹⁴ וְאָר֣וּר נוֹכֵ֗ל וְיֵ֤שׁ בְּעֶדְרוֹ֙ זָכָ֔ר וְנֹדֵ֛ר וְזֹבֵ֥חַ מָשְׁחָ֖ת לַֽאדֹנָ֑י כִּי֩ מֶ֨לֶךְ גָּד֜וֹל אָ֗נִי אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וּשְׁמִ֖י נוֹרָ֥א בַגּוֹיִֽם׃
