BAN ¹ Et ils arrivèrent à l'autre bord de la mer, dans la contrée des Gadaréniens.

KJV ¹ And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

BAN ² Et quand il fut sorti de la barque, aussitôt un homme possédé d'un esprit impur, sortant des sépulcres, vint au-devant de lui.

KJV ² And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

BAN ³ Il avait sa demeure dans les sépulcres, et personne ne pouvait plus le lier, pas même avec une chaîne ;

KJV ³ Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

BAN ⁴ car souvent, il avait été lié de ceps aux pieds et de chaînes, et il avait rompu les chaînes et brisé les ceps ; et personne ne pouvait le dompter ;

KJV ⁴ Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

BAN ⁵ et il était continuellement, nuit et jour, dans les sépulcres et sur les montagnes, criant, et se meurtrissant avec des pierres.

KJV ⁵ And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

BAN ⁶ Et ayant vu Jésus de loin, il accourut et se prosterna devant lui ;

KJV ⁶ But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

BAN ⁷ et criant à haute voix, il dit : Qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi, Jésus, Fils du Dieu très-haut ? Je t'adjure par Dieu, de ne me point tourmenter.

KJV ⁷ And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

BAN ⁸ Car il lui disait : Esprit impur, sors de cet homme.

KJV ⁸ For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

BAN ⁹ Et il lui demandait : Quel est ton nom ? Et il dit : Mon nom est Légion ; car nous sommes plusieurs.

KJV ⁹ And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

BAN ¹⁰ Et il le priait fort de ne pas les envoyer hors de la contrée.

KJV ¹⁰ And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

BAN ¹¹ Or, il y avait là, vers la montagne, un grand troupeau de pourceaux qui paissait ;

KJV ¹¹ Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

BAN ¹² et les démons le prièrent, disant : Envoie-nous dans les pourceaux, afin que nous entrions en eux. Et il le leur permit.

KJV ¹² And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

BAN ¹³ Et les esprits impurs étant sortis, entrèrent dans les pourceaux, et le troupeau s'élança avec impétuosité en bas la pente, dans la mer, au nombre d'environ deux mille, et ils furent noyés dans la mer.

KJV ¹³ And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

BAN ¹⁴ Et ceux qui les paissaient s'enfuirent et répandirent la nouvelle dans la ville et dans les campagnes.

KJV ¹⁴ And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

BAN ¹⁵ Et les gens sortirent pour voir ce qui était arrivé. Et ils viennent vers Jésus et ils considèrent le démoniaque, assis, vêtu, et dans son bon sens, lui qui avait eu la légion ; et ils furent remplis de crainte.

KJV ¹⁵ And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

BAN ¹⁶ Et ceux qui l'avaient vu leur racontèrent ce qui était arrivé au démoniaque et à l'égard des pourceaux.

KJV ¹⁶ And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

BAN ¹⁷ Et ils se mirent à le prier de se retirer de leur territoire.

KJV ¹⁷ And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.

BAN ¹⁸ Et comme il montait dans la barque, celui qui avait été démoniaque le priait de lui permettre d'être avec lui.

KJV ¹⁸ And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

BAN ¹⁹ Et il ne le lui permit pas, mais il lui dit : Va-t'en dans ta maison, vers les tiens, et raconte-leur quelles grandes choses le Seigneur t'a faites et comment il a eu pitié de toi.

KJV ¹⁹ Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

BAN ²⁰ Et il s'en alla et se mit à publier dans la Décapole quelles grandes choses Jésus lui avait faites ; et tous étaient dans l'admiration.

KJV ²⁰ And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.
