KJV ³ Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

S21 ³ Cet homme habitait dans les tombeaux, et personne ne pouvait plus l'attacher, même avec une chaîne.

TR1550 ³ ὃς τὴν κατοίκησιν εἶχεν ἐν τοῖς μνήμείοις καὶ οὒτε ἁλύσεσιν οὐδεὶς ἠδύνατο αὐτὸν δῆσαι

KJV ⁴ Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

S21 ⁴ En effet, souvent on l'avait attaché avec des fers aux pieds et des chaînes, mais il avait cassé les chaînes et brisé les fers, et personne n'avait la force de le maîtriser.

TR1550 ⁴ διὰ τὸ αὐτὸν πολλάκις πέδαις καὶ ἁλύσεσιν δεδέσθαι καὶ διεσπάσθαι ὑπ᾽ αὐτοῦ τὰς ἁλύσεις καὶ τὰς πέδας συντετρῖφθαι καὶ οὐδεὶς αὐτὸν ἴσχυεν δαμάσαι

KJV ⁵ And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

S21 ⁵ Il était sans cesse, nuit et jour, dans les tombeaux et sur les montagnes; il criait et se blessait lui-même avec des pierres.

KJV ⁷ And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

S21 ⁷ et s'écria d'une voix forte: «Que me veux-tu, Jésus, Fils du Dieu très-haut? Je t'en supplie au nom de Dieu, ne me tourmente pas.»

TR1550 ⁷ καὶ κράξας φωνῇ μεγάλῃ εἶπεν τί ἐμοὶ καὶ σοί ἰησοῦ υἱὲ τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου ὁρκίζω σε τὸν θεόν μή με βασανίσῃς

KJV ⁸ For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

«Mon nom est légion, car nous sommes nombreux», répondit-il.

KJV ¹⁰ And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

S21 ¹⁰ Et il le suppliait avec insistance de ne pas les envoyer hors du pays.

TR1550 ¹⁰ καὶ παρεκάλει αὐτὸν πολλὰ ἵνα μὴ αὐτοὺς ἀποστείλῃ ἔξω τῆς χώρας

KJV ¹¹ Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

S21 ¹¹ Il y avait là, vers la montagne, un grand troupeau de porcs en train de chercher à manger.

TR1550 ¹¹ ἦν δὲ ἐκεῖ πρὸς τὰ ὄρη ἀγέλη χοίρων μεγάλη βοσκομένη

KJV ¹² And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

S21 ¹² Tous les démons le supplièrent: «Envoie-nous dans ces porcs afin que nous entrions en eux.»

TR1550 ¹² καὶ παρεκάλεσαν αὐτὸν πάντες οἱ δαίμονες λέγοντες πέμψον ἡμᾶς εἰς τοὺς χοίρους ἵνα εἰς αὐτοὺς εἰσέλθωμεν

KJV ¹³ And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

S21 ¹³ Il le leur permit [aussitôt]. Les esprits impurs sortirent de l'homme, entrèrent dans les porcs, et le troupeau se précipita du haut de la falaise dans le lac; il y avait environ 2000 porcs, et ils se noyèrent dans le lac.

TR1550 ¹³ καὶ ἐπέτρεψεν αὐτοῖς εὐθέως ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ ἐξελθόντα τὰ πνεύματα τὰ ἀκάθαρτα εἰσῆλθον εἰς τοὺς χοίρους καὶ ὥρμησεν ἡ ἀγέλη κατὰ τοῦ κρημνοῦ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν ἦσαν δὲ ὡς δισχίλιοι καὶ ἐπνίγοντο ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ

KJV ¹⁴ And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

S21 ¹⁴ Les gardiens du troupeau s'enfuirent et allèrent le raconter dans la ville et dans les campagnes. Les gens allèrent voir ce qui était arrivé.

KJV ¹⁵ And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

S21 ¹⁵ Ils vinrent vers Jésus et virent le démoniaque, celui qui avait eu la légion de démons, assis, habillé et dans son bon sens; et ils furent saisis de frayeur.

KJV ¹⁶ And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

S21 ¹⁶ Ceux qui avaient été témoins de la scène leur racontèrent ce qui était arrivé au démoniaque et aux porcs.

KJV ¹⁷ And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.

KJV ¹⁸ And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

S21 ¹⁸ Comme il montait dans la barque, celui qui avait été démoniaque le suppliait, demandant à l'accompagner.

TR1550 ¹⁸ καὶ ἐμβάντος αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ πλοῖον παρεκάλει αὐτὸν ὁ δαιμονισθεὶς ἵνα ᾖ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ

KJV ¹⁹ Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

S21 ¹⁹ Jésus ne le lui permit pas mais lui dit: «Va dans ta maison, vers les tiens, et raconte-leur tout ce que le Seigneur a fait pour toi, comment il a eu pitié de toi.»

KJV ²⁰ And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

S21 ²⁰ Il s'en alla et se mit à proclamer dans la Décapole tout ce que Jésus avait fait pour lui. Et tous étaient dans l'étonnement.

TR1550 ²⁰ καὶ ἀπῆλθεν καὶ ἤρξατο κηρύσσειν ἐν τῇ δεκαπόλει ὅσα ἐποίησεν αὐτῷ ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ πάντες ἐθαύμαζον
