BAN ¹ Et ils arrivèrent à l'autre bord de la mer, dans la contrée des Gadaréniens.

KJV ¹ And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

BAN ² Et quand il fut sorti de la barque, aussitôt un homme possédé d'un esprit impur, sortant des sépulcres, vint au-devant de lui.

KJV ² And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

BAN ³ Il avait sa demeure dans les sépulcres, et personne ne pouvait plus le lier, pas même avec une chaîne ;

KJV ³ Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

BAN ⁴ car souvent, il avait été lié de ceps aux pieds et de chaînes, et il avait rompu les chaînes et brisé les ceps ; et personne ne pouvait le dompter ;

KJV ⁴ Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

BAN ⁵ et il était continuellement, nuit et jour, dans les sépulcres et sur les montagnes, criant, et se meurtrissant avec des pierres.

KJV ⁵ And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

BAN ⁶ Et ayant vu Jésus de loin, il accourut et se prosterna devant lui ;

KJV ⁶ But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

BAN ⁷ et criant à haute voix, il dit : Qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi, Jésus, Fils du Dieu très-haut ? Je t'adjure par Dieu, de ne me point tourmenter.

KJV ⁷ And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

BAN ⁸ Car il lui disait : Esprit impur, sors de cet homme.

KJV ⁸ For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

BAN ⁹ Et il lui demandait : Quel est ton nom ? Et il dit : Mon nom est Légion ; car nous sommes plusieurs.

KJV ⁹ And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

BAN ¹⁰ Et il le priait fort de ne pas les envoyer hors de la contrée.

KJV ¹⁰ And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

BAN ¹¹ Or, il y avait là, vers la montagne, un grand troupeau de pourceaux qui paissait ;

KJV ¹¹ Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

BAN ¹² et les démons le prièrent, disant : Envoie-nous dans les pourceaux, afin que nous entrions en eux. Et il le leur permit.

KJV ¹² And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

BAN ¹³ Et les esprits impurs étant sortis, entrèrent dans les pourceaux, et le troupeau s'élança avec impétuosité en bas la pente, dans la mer, au nombre d'environ deux mille, et ils furent noyés dans la mer.

KJV ¹³ And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

BAN ¹⁴ Et ceux qui les paissaient s'enfuirent et répandirent la nouvelle dans la ville et dans les campagnes.

KJV ¹⁴ And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

BAN ¹⁵ Et les gens sortirent pour voir ce qui était arrivé. Et ils viennent vers Jésus et ils considèrent le démoniaque, assis, vêtu, et dans son bon sens, lui qui avait eu la légion ; et ils furent remplis de crainte.

KJV ¹⁵ And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

BAN ¹⁶ Et ceux qui l'avaient vu leur racontèrent ce qui était arrivé au démoniaque et à l'égard des pourceaux.

KJV ¹⁶ And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

BAN ¹⁷ Et ils se mirent à le prier de se retirer de leur territoire.

KJV ¹⁷ And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.

BAN ¹⁸ Et comme il montait dans la barque, celui qui avait été démoniaque le priait de lui permettre d'être avec lui.

KJV ¹⁸ And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

BAN ¹⁹ Et il ne le lui permit pas, mais il lui dit : Va-t'en dans ta maison, vers les tiens, et raconte-leur quelles grandes choses le Seigneur t'a faites et comment il a eu pitié de toi.

KJV ¹⁹ Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

BAN ²⁰ Et il s'en alla et se mit à publier dans la Décapole quelles grandes choses Jésus lui avait faites ; et tous étaient dans l'admiration.

KJV ²⁰ And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

BAN ²¹ Et Jésus ayant de nouveau passé à l'autre bord, dans la barque, une grande foule s'assembla auprès de lui ; et il était au bord de la mer.

KJV ²¹ And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.

BAN ²² Et l'un des chefs de la synagogue, nommé Jaïrus, vient, et le voyant, il se jette à ses pieds ;

KJV ²² And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,

BAN ²³ et il le prie instamment, disant : Ma petite fille est à l'extrémité ; je te prie de venir lui imposer les mains, afin qu'elle soit sauvée, et qu'elle vive.

KJV ²³ And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

BAN ²⁴ Et il s'en alla avec lui. Et une grande foule le suivait, et elle le pressait.

KJV ²⁴ And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

BAN ²⁵ Et une femme qui avait une perte de sang depuis douze ans,

KJV ²⁵ And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

BAN ²⁶ et qui avait beaucoup souffert de nombreux médecins, et qui avait dépensé tout son bien sans en retirer aucun profit, mais était allée plutôt en empirant,

KJV ²⁶ And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

BAN ²⁷ comme elle avait ouï parler de Jésus, étant venue dans la foule, elle toucha, par derrière, son vêtement ;

KJV ²⁷ When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

BAN ²⁸ car elle disait : Si seulement je touche ses vêtements, je serai sauvée.

KJV ²⁸ For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

BAN ²⁹ Et aussitôt l'écoulement de son sang s'arrêta ; et elle connut en son corps qu'elle était guérie de ce mal.

KJV ²⁹ And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

BAN ³⁰ Et aussitôt Jésus, ayant connu en lui-même qu'une puissance était sortie de lui, s'étant retourné dans la foule, disait : Qui a touché mes vêtements ?

KJV ³⁰ And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

BAN ³¹ Et ses disciples lui disaient : Tu vois que la foule te presse, et tu dis : Qui est-ce qui m'a touché ?

KJV ³¹ And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

BAN ³² Et il regardait tout autour pour voir celle qui avait fait cela.

KJV ³² And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

BAN ³³ Or la femme, effrayée et tremblante, sachant ce qui lui était arrivé, vint et se jeta à ses pieds et lui dit toute la vérité.

KJV ³³ But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

BAN ³⁴ Mais il lui dit : Ma fille, ta foi t'a sauvée ; va en paix, et sois guérie de ton mal.

KJV ³⁴ And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

BAN ³⁵ Comme il parlait encore, on vient de chez le chef de la synagogue en disant : Ta fille est morte : pourquoi fatigues-tu encore le Maître ?

KJV ³⁵ While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

BAN ³⁶ Mais Jésus, sans faire attention à la parole qu'on disait, dit au chef de la synagogue : Ne crains point, crois seulement.

KJV ³⁶ As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

BAN ³⁷ Et il ne permit à personne de l'accompagner, si ce n'est à Pierre et à Jacques et à Jean, le frère de Jacques.

KJV ³⁷ And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

BAN ³⁸ Et ils arrivent à la maison du chef de la synagogue, et il voit du tumulte et des gens qui pleuraient et se lamentaient beaucoup.

KJV ³⁸ And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

BAN ³⁹ Et étant entré, il leur dit : Pourquoi faites-vous du bruit et pleurez-vous ? L'enfant n'est pas morte, mais elle dort.

KJV ³⁹ And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

BAN ⁴⁰ Et ils se moquaient de lui. Mais lui, les ayant tous mis dehors, prend le père de l'enfant et la mère et ceux qui étaient avec lui, et il entre là où était l'enfant.

KJV ⁴⁰ And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

BAN ⁴¹ Et ayant pris la main de l'enfant, il lui dit : Talitha koumi, ce qui signifie : Jeune fille, je te le dis, lève-toi !

KJV ⁴¹ And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.

BAN ⁴² Et aussitôt la jeune fille se leva et se mit à marcher, car elle était âgée de douze ans. Et ils furent saisis d'une grande stupéfaction.

KJV ⁴² And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

BAN ⁴³ Et il leur commanda fortement que personne ne le sût ; et il dit qu'on lui donnât à manger.

KJV ⁴³ And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
