DRB ²³ C'est pourquoi le royaume des cieux a été fait semblable à un roi qui voulut compter avec ses esclaves.

KJV ²³ Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

DRB ²⁴ Et quand il eut commencé à compter, on lui en amena un qui lui devait dix mille talents*.

KJV ²⁴ And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

DRB ²⁵ Et comme il n'avait pas de quoi payer, son seigneur ordonna qu'il fût vendu, [lui], et sa femme, et ses enfants, et tout ce qu'il avait ; et que le payement fût fait.

KJV ²⁵ But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

DRB ²⁶ L'esclave donc, se jetant à ses pieds, lui rendit hommage, disant : Seigneur, use de patience envers moi, et je te payerai tout.

KJV ²⁶ The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

DRB ²⁷ Et le seigneur de cet esclave-là, touché de compassion, le relâcha et lui remit la dette.

KJV ²⁷ Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

DRB ²⁸ Mais cet esclave, étant sorti, trouva un de ceux qui étaient esclaves avec lui, qui lui devait cent deniers* ; et l'ayant saisi, il l'étranglait, disant : Paye, si tu dois quelque chose.

KJV ²⁸ But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

DRB ²⁹ Celui donc qui était esclave avec lui, se jetant à ses pieds, le supplia, disant : Use de patience envers moi, et je te payerai.

KJV ²⁹ And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

DRB ³⁰ Et il ne voulut pas ; mais il s'en alla et le jeta en prison jusqu'à ce qu'il eût payé la dette.

KJV ³⁰ And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

DRB ³¹ Or ceux qui étaient esclaves avec lui, voyant ce qui était arrivé, furent extrêmement affligés, et s'en vinrent et déclarèrent à leur seigneur tout ce qui s'était passé.

KJV ³¹ So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

DRB ³² Alors son seigneur, l'ayant appelé auprès de lui, lui dit : Méchant esclave, je t'ai remis toute cette dette, parce que tu m'en as supplié ;

KJV ³² Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

DRB ³³ n'aurais-tu pas dû aussi avoir pitié de celui qui est esclave avec toi, comme moi aussi j'ai eu pitié de toi ?

KJV ³³ Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

DRB ³⁴ Et son seigneur, étant en colère, le livra aux bourreaux, jusqu'à ce qu'il eût payé tout ce qui lui était dû.

KJV ³⁴ And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
