KJV ¹ For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.

KJV ² And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

OST ² Et étant convenu avec les ouvriers d'un denier par jour, il les envoya à sa vigne.

KJV ³ And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,

OST ³ Il sortit encore vers la troisième heure, et il en vit d'autres qui étaient sur la place sans rien faire,

KJV ⁴ And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.

OST ⁴ Et il leur dit: Allez, vous aussi, à ma vigne, et je vous donnerai ce qui sera raisonnable.

KJV ⁵ Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.

OST ⁵ Et ils y allèrent. Il sortit encore vers la sixième et la neuvième heure, et fit la même chose.

KJV ⁶ And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

OST ⁶ Et vers la onzième heure, il sortit et en trouva d'autres qui étaient sans rien faire, et il leur dit: Pourquoi vous tenez-vous ici tout le jour sans rien faire?

KJV ⁷ They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.

OST ⁷ Ils lui répondirent: Parce que personne ne nous a loués. Il leur dit: Allez, vous aussi, à ma vigne, et vous recevrez ce qui sera raisonnable.

KJV ⁸ So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.

OST ⁸ Quand le soir fut venu, le maître de la vigne dit à son intendant: Appelle les ouvriers, et leur paye leur salaire, en allant des derniers jusqu'aux premiers.

KJV ⁹ And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.

OST ⁹ Et ceux de la onzième heure, étant venus, reçurent chacun un denier.

KJV ¹⁰ But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.

OST ¹⁰ Les premiers, étant aussi venus, s'attendaient à recevoir davantage; mais ils reçurent aussi chacun un denier.

KJV ¹¹ And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,

OST ¹¹ Et l'ayant reçu, ils murmuraient contre le père de famille,

KJV ¹² Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.

OST ¹² En disant: Ces derniers n'ont travaillé qu'une heure, et tu les as égalés à nous qui avons supporté le poids du jour et la chaleur.

KJV ¹³ But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

OST ¹³ Mais il répondit et dit à l'un d'eux: Mon ami, je ne te fais point de tort; n'es-tu pas convenu avec moi d'un denier?

KJV ¹⁴ Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.

OST ¹⁴ Prends ce qui est à toi, et t'en va. Je veux donner à ce dernier autant qu'à toi.

KJV ¹⁵ Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

OST ¹⁵ Ne m'est-il pas permis de faire ce que je veux de ce qui est à moi? Ton oeil est-il méchant parce que je suis bon?

KJV ¹⁶ So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

OST ¹⁶ Ainsi les derniers seront les premiers, et les premiers seront les derniers; car il y en a beaucoup d'appelés, mais peu d'élus.

KJV ¹⁷ And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,

OST ¹⁷ Et Jésus, montant à Jérusalem, prit à part sur le chemin ses douze disciples, et leur dit:

KJV ¹⁸ Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,

OST ¹⁸ Nous montons à Jérusalem, et le Fils de l'homme sera livré aux principaux sacrificateurs et aux scribes, et ils le condamneront à la mort,

KJV ¹⁹ And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

OST ¹⁹ Et ils le livreront aux gentils, pour être moqué, et fouetté et crucifié; mais il ressuscitera le troisième jour.

KJV ²⁰ Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.

OST ²⁰ Alors la mère des fils de Zébédée s'approcha de lui avec ses fils, et se prosterna pour lui demander quelque chose.

KJV ²¹ And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.

OST ²¹ Et il lui dit: Que veux-tu? Elle lui dit: Ordonne que mes deux fils, qui sont ici, soient assis l'un à ta droite et l'autre à ta gauche, dans ton royaume.

KJV ²² But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

OST ²² Mais Jésus, répondant, leur dit: vous ne savez ce que vous demandez. Pouvez-vous boire la coupe que je dois boire, ou être baptisés du baptême dont je dois être baptisé? Ils lui dirent: Nous le pouvons.

KJV ²³ And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

OST ²³ Et il leur dit: Il est vrai que vous boirez ma coupe, et que vous serez baptisés du baptême dont je serai baptisé; mais d'être assis à ma droite et à ma gauche, ce n'est pas à moi à l'accorder; cela ne sera donné qu'à ceux à qui mon Père l'a destiné.

KJV ²⁴ And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.

OST ²⁴ Les dix autres, ayant entendu cela, furent indignés contre ces deux frères.

KJV ²⁵ But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

OST ²⁵ Et Jésus, les ayant appelés, leur dit: Vous savez que les princes des nations les dominent, et que les grands leur commandent avec autorité.

KJV ²⁶ But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

OST ²⁶ Mais il n'en doit pas être ainsi parmi vous; au contraire, quiconque voudra être grand parmi vous, qu'il soit votre serviteur.

KJV ²⁷ And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

OST ²⁷ Et quiconque voudra être le premier entre vous, qu'il soit votre esclave,

KJV ²⁸ Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

OST ²⁸ Comme le Fils de l'homme est venu, non pour être servi, mais pour servir et donner sa vie en rançon pour plusieurs.

KJV ²⁹ And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.

OST ²⁹ Et comme ils partaient de Jérico, une grande foule le suivit.

KJV ³⁰ And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.

OST ³⁰ Et deux aveugles qui étaient assis près du chemin, ayant entendu que Jésus passait, crièrent en disant: Seigneur, Fils de David, aie pitié de nous!

KJV ³¹ And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.

OST ³¹ Et le peuple les reprit, pour les faire taire; mais ils criaient plus fort: Seigneur, Fils de David, aie pitié de nous!

KJV ³² And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?

OST ³² Et Jésus, s'arrêtant, les appela et leur dit: Que voulez-vous que je vous fasse?

KJV ³³ They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.

OST ³³ Ils lui dirent: Seigneur, que nos yeux soient ouverts.

KJV ³⁴ So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

OST ³⁴ Et Jésus, ému de compassion, toucha leurs yeux, et aussitôt ils virent, et ils le suivirent.
