BAN ³ Alors Judas, qui l'avait livré, voyant qu'il était condamné, se repentit, et rapporta les trente pièces d'argent aux principaux sacrificateurs et aux anciens,

KJV ³ Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

TR1550 ³ τότε ἰδὼν ἰούδας ὁ παραδιδοὺς αὐτὸν ὅτι κατεκρίθη μεταμεληθεὶς ἀπέστρεψεν τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν καὶ τοῖς πρεσβυτέροις

BAN ⁴ disant : J'ai péché en livrant un sang innocent. Mais ils dirent : Que nous importe ? tu y pourvoiras.

KJV ⁴ Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

TR1550 ⁴ λέγων Ἥμαρτον παραδοὺς αἷμα ἀθῷον οἱ δὲ εἶπον τί πρὸς ἡμᾶς σὺ ὄψει

BAN ⁵ Et, après avoir jeté les pièces d'argent dans le temple, il se retira, et s'en étant allé, il se pendit.

KJV ⁵ And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

TR1550 ⁵ καὶ ῥίψας τὰ ἀργύρια ἕν τῷ ναῷ ἀνεχώρησεν καὶ ἀπελθὼν ἀπήγξατο

BAN ⁶ Et les principaux sacrificateurs ayant pris les pièces d'argent, dirent : Il n'est pas permis de les mettre dans le trésor sacré, car c'est le prix du sang.

KJV ⁶ And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

TR1550 ⁶ οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς λαβόντες τὰ ἀργύρια εἶπον οὐκ ἔξεστιν βαλεῖν αὐτὰ εἰς τὸν κορβανᾶν ἐπεὶ τιμὴ αἵματός ἐστιν

BAN ⁷ Et ayant délibéré, ils en achetèrent le champ du potier, pour la sépulture des étrangers.

KJV ⁷ And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

TR1550 ⁷ συμβούλιον δὲ λαβόντες ἠγόρασαν ἐξ αὐτῶν τὸν ἀγρὸν τοῦ κεραμέως εἰς ταφὴν τοῖς ξένοις

BAN ⁸ C'est pourquoi ce champ-là a été appelé, jusqu'à aujourd'hui, le Champ du Sang.

KJV ⁸ Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

TR1550 ⁸ διὸ ἐκλήθη ὁ ἀγρὸς ἐκεῖνος ἀγρὸς αἵματος ἕως τῆς σήμερον

BAN ⁹ Alors s'accomplit ce qui avait été dit par Jérémie le prophète : Et ils ont pris les trente pièces d'argent, le prix de celui qui a été évalué et qu'ils ont évalué de la part des fils d'Israël ;

KJV ⁹ Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

TR1550 ⁹ τότε ἐπληρώθη τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ ἰερεμίου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος καὶ ἔλαβον τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια τὴν τιμὴν τοῦ τετιμημένου ὃν ἐτιμήσαντο ἀπὸ υἱῶν ἰσραήλ

BAN ¹⁰ et ils les ont données pour le champ du potier, comme le Seigneur me l'avait ordonné.

KJV ¹⁰ And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.

TR1550 ¹⁰ καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὰ εἰς τὸν ἀγρὸν τοῦ κεραμέως καθὰ συνέταξέν μοι κύριος

BAN ¹¹ Or Jésus comparut devant le gouverneur, et le gouverneur l'interrogea, disant : Tu es le roi des Juifs ? Et Jésus lui dit : Tu le dis.

KJV ¹¹ And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

BAN ¹² Et comme il était accusé par les principaux sacrificateurs et les anciens, il ne répondit rien.

KJV ¹² And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

BAN ¹³ Alors Pilate lui dit : N'entends-tu pas combien de choses ils témoignent contre toi ?

KJV ¹³ Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?

TR1550 ¹³ τότε λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ πιλᾶτος οὐκ ἀκούεις πόσα σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν

BAN ¹⁴ Et il ne lui répondit sur aucune parole, de sorte que le gouverneur était fort étonné.

KJV ¹⁴ And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

TR1550 ¹⁴ καὶ οὐκ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτῷ πρὸς οὐδὲ ἓν ῥῆμα ὥστε θαυμάζειν τὸν ἡγεμόνα λίαν

BAN ¹⁵ Or à chaque fête, le gouverneur avait coutume de relâcher à la foule un prisonnier, celui qu'elle voulait.

KJV ¹⁵ Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

TR1550 ¹⁵ κατὰ δὲ ἑορτὴν εἰώθει ὁ ἡγεμὼν ἀπολύειν ἕνα τῷ ὄχλῳ δέσμιον ὃν ἤθελον

BAN ¹⁶ Or ils avaient alors un prisonnier fameux, nommé Barabbas.

KJV ¹⁶ And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

TR1550 ¹⁶ εἶχον δὲ τότε δέσμιον ἐπίσημον λεγόμενον βαραββᾶν

BAN ¹⁷ Comme ils étaient donc assemblés, Pilate leur dit : Lequel voulez-vous que je vous relâche : Barabbas, ou Jésus, qu'on appelle Christ ?

KJV ¹⁷ Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

KJV ¹⁸ For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

BAN ¹⁹ Et pendant qu'il était assis au tribunal, sa femme lui envoya dire : N'aie rien à faire avec ce juste, car j'ai beaucoup souffert aujourd'hui, en songe, à son sujet.

KJV ¹⁹ When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

BAN ²⁰ Mais les principaux sacrificateurs et les anciens persuadèrent à la foule de demander Barabbas, et de faire périr Jésus.

KJV ²⁰ But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

TR1550 ²⁰ οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι ἔπεισαν τοὺς ὄχλους ἵνα αἰτήσωνται τὸν βαραββᾶν τὸν δὲ ἰησοῦν ἀπολέσωσιν

BAN ²¹ Et le gouverneur, prenant la parole, leur dit : Lequel des deux voulez-vous que je vous relâche ? Et ils dirent : Barabbas.

KJV ²¹ The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

BAN ²² Pilate leur dit : Que ferai-je donc de Jésus qu'on appelle Christ ? Tous disent : Qu'il soit crucifié !

KJV ²² Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

BAN ²³ Et le gouverneur leur dit : Quel mal a-t-il donc fait ? Mais ils criaient plus fort : Qu'il soit crucifié !

KJV ²³ And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

TR1550 ²³ ὁ δὲ ἡγεμὼν ἔφη τί γὰρ κακὸν ἐποίησεν οἱ δὲ περισσῶς ἔκραζον λέγοντες σταυρωθήτω

BAN ²⁴ Voyant donc qu'il ne gagnait rien, mais que le tumulte allait croissant, Pilate prit de l'eau et se lava les mains devant le peuple, en disant : Je suis innocent de ce sang ; vous y pourvoirez.

KJV ²⁴ When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

TR1550 ²⁴ ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ πιλᾶτος ὅτι οὐδὲν ὠφελεῖ ἀλλὰ μᾶλλον θόρυβος γίνεται λαβὼν ὕδωρ ἀπενίψατο τὰς χεῖρας ἀπέναντι τοῦ ὄχλου λέγων ἀθῷός εἰμι ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος τοῦ δικαίου τούτου ὑμεῖς ὄψεσθε

BAN ²⁵ Et tout le peuple répondit : Que son sang soit sur nous et sur nos enfants !

KJV ²⁵ Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

BAN ²⁶ Alors il leur relâcha Barabbas, et après avoir fait flageller Jésus, il le livra pour être crucifié.

KJV ²⁶ Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

BAN ²⁷ Alors les soldats du gouverneur ayant emmené Jésus au prétoire, assemblèrent autour de lui toute la cohorte.

KJV ²⁷ Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.

TR1550 ²⁷ τότε οἱ στρατιῶται τοῦ ἡγεμόνος παραλαβόντες τὸν ἰησοῦν εἰς τὸ πραιτώριον συνήγαγον ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ὅλην τὴν σπεῖραν

BAN ²⁸ Et lui ayant ôté ses vêtements, ils le revêtirent d'un manteau d'écarlate ;

KJV ²⁸ And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

TR1550 ²⁸ καὶ ἐκδύσαντες αὐτὸν περιέθηκαν αὐτῷ χλαμύδα κοκκίνην

BAN ²⁹ et ayant tressé une couronne d'épines, ils la lui mirent sur la tête, et un roseau dans la main droite, et s'agenouillant devant lui, ils se moquaient de lui, en disant : Salut, roi des Juifs !

KJV ²⁹ And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

TR1550 ²⁹ καὶ πλέξαντες στέφανον ἐξ ἀκανθῶν ἐπέθηκαν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ κάλαμον ἐπὶ τὴν δεξιὰν αὐτοῦ καὶ γονυπετήσαντες ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ ἐνέπαιζον αὐτῷ λέγοντες χαῖρε ὁ βασιλεῦς τῶν ἰουδαίων

BAN ³⁰ Et crachant contre lui, ils prirent le roseau, et ils frappaient sur sa tête.

KJV ³⁰ And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

TR1550 ³⁰ καὶ ἐμπτύσαντες εἰς αὐτὸν ἔλαβον τὸν κάλαμον καὶ ἔτυπτον εἰς τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ

BAN ³¹ Et lorsqu'ils se furent moqués de lui, après lui avoir ôté le manteau, ils lui remirent ses vêtements, et ils l'emmenèrent pour le crucifier.

KJV ³¹ And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

TR1550 ³¹ καὶ ὅτε ἐνέπαιξαν αὐτῷ ἐξέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὴν χλαμύδα καὶ ἐνέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπήγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ σταυρῶσαι

BAN ³² Et comme ils sortaient, ils trouvèrent un homme de Cyrène, nommé Simon, qu'ils contraignirent de porter la croix de Jésus.

KJV ³² And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

TR1550 ³² ἐξερχόμενοι δὲ εὗρον ἄνθρωπον κυρηναῖον ὀνόματι σίμωνα τοῦτον ἠγγάρευσαν ἵνα ἄρῃ τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ

BAN ³³ Et étant arrivés au lieu appelé Golgotha, ce qui signifie le lieu du Crâne,

KJV ³³ And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,

BAN ³⁴ ils lui donnèrent à boire du vin mêlé de fiel ; et quand il en eut goûté, il n'en voulut pas boire.

KJV ³⁴ They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

TR1550 ³⁴ ἔδωκαν αὐτῷ πιεῖν ὄξος μετὰ χολῆς μεμιγμένον καὶ γευσάμενος οὐκ ἤθελεν πιεῖν

BAN ³⁵ Et après l'avoir crucifié, ils partagèrent ses vêtements, en jetant le sort.

KJV ³⁵ And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

BAN ³⁶ Et s'étant assis, ils le gardaient là.

KJV ³⁶ And sitting down they watched him there;

BAN ³⁷ Et l'on mit au-dessus de sa tête le sujet de sa condamnation écrit : Celui-ci Est Jésus, Le Roi Des Juifs.

KJV ³⁷ And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

TR1550 ³⁷ καὶ ἐπέθηκαν ἐπάνω τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτοῦ τὴν αἰτίαν αὐτοῦ γεγραμμένην οὗτός ἐστιν ἰησοῦς ὁ βασιλεῦς τῶν ἰουδαίων

BAN ³⁸ Alors sont crucifiés avec lui deux brigands, l'un à droite, et l'autre à gauche.

KJV ³⁸ Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

TR1550 ³⁸ τότε σταυροῦνται σὺν αὐτῷ δύο λῃσταί εἷς ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ εἷς ἐξ εὐωνύμων

BAN ³⁹ Et ceux qui passaient l'injuriaient, secouant la tête,

KJV ³⁹ And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

TR1550 ³⁹ οἱ δὲ παραπορευόμενοι ἐβλασφήμουν αὐτὸν κινοῦντες τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν

BAN ⁴⁰ et disant : Toi qui détruis le temple, et qui le rebâtis en trois jours, sauve-toi toi-même, si tu es le Fils de Dieu, et descends de la croix !

KJV ⁴⁰ And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

TR1550 ⁴⁰ καὶ λέγοντες ὁ καταλύων τὸν ναὸν καὶ ἐν τρισὶν ἡμέραις οἰκοδομῶν σῶσον σεαυτόν εἰ υἱὸς εἶ τοῦ θεοῦ κατάβηθι ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ

BAN ⁴¹ De même aussi les principaux sacrificateurs, avec les scribes et les anciens, disaient en se moquant :

KJV ⁴¹ Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

TR1550 ⁴¹ ὁμοίως δὲ καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς ἐμπαίζοντες μετὰ τῶν γραμματέων καὶ πρεσβυτέρων ἔλεγον

BAN ⁴² Il a sauvé les autres, et il ne peut se sauver lui-même ! Il est le roi d'Israël ! qu'il descende maintenant de la croix, et nous croirons en lui !

KJV ⁴² He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

TR1550 ⁴² ἄλλους ἔσωσεν ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται σῶσαι εἰ βασιλεὺς ἰσραήλ ἐστιν καταβάτω νῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ καὶ πιστεύσομεν αὐτῷ

BAN ⁴³ Il s'est confié en Dieu ; que Dieu le délivre maintenant, s'il l'aime ! car il a dit : Je suis le Fils de Dieu.

KJV ⁴³ He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

TR1550 ⁴³ πέποιθεν ἐπὶ τὸν θεόν ῥυσάσθω νῦν αὐτόν εἰ θέλει αὐτόν εἶπεν γὰρ ὅτι φεοῦ εἰμι υἱός

BAN ⁴⁴ Et les brigands aussi qui étaient avec lui l'outrageaient de la même manière.

KJV ⁴⁴ The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

TR1550 ⁴⁴ τὸ δ᾽ αὐτὸ καὶ οἱ λῃσταὶ οἱ συσταυρωθέντες αὐτῷ ὠνείδιζον αὐτῷ

BAN ⁴⁵ Or depuis la sixième heure il y eut des ténèbres sur toute la terre, jusqu'à la neuvième heure.

KJV ⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

TR1550 ⁴⁵ ἀπὸ δὲ ἕκτης ὥρας σκότος ἐγένετο ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἕως ὥρας ἐννάτης

BAN ⁴⁶ Et environ la neuvième heure, Jésus s'écria d'une voix forte, disant : Eli, Eli, lamma sabachthani ? C'est-à-dire : Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné ?

KJV ⁴⁶ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

TR1550 ⁴⁶ περὶ δὲ τὴν ἐννάτην ὥραν ἀνεβόησεν ὁ ἰησοῦς φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγων ηλι ηλι λαμὰ σαβαχθανι τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν φεέ μου θεέ μου ἱνατί με ἐγκατέλιπες

BAN ⁴⁷ Et quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient présents, l'ayant entendu, disaient : Il appelle Elie, celui-ci !

KJV ⁴⁷ Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

TR1550 ⁴⁷ τινὲς δὲ τῶν ἐκεῖ ἑστώτων ἀκούσαντες ἔλεγον ὅτι ἠλίαν φωνεῖ οὗτος

BAN ⁴⁸ Et aussitôt l'un d'entre eux courut et prit une éponge, et l'ayant remplie de vinaigre et mise au bout d'un roseau, il lui donna à boire.

KJV ⁴⁸ And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

TR1550 ⁴⁸ καὶ εὐθέως δραμὼν εἷς ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ λαβὼν σπόγγον πλήσας τε ὄξους καὶ περιθεὶς καλάμῳ ἐπότιζεν αὐτόν

BAN ⁴⁹ Et les autres disaient : Laisse ; voyons si Elie vient le délivrer.

KJV ⁴⁹ The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

TR1550 ⁵¹ καὶ ἰδού τὸ καταπέτασμα τοῦ ναοῦ ἐσχίσθη εἰς δύο ἀπὸ ἄνωθεν ἕως κάτω καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐσείσθη καὶ αἱ πέτραι ἐσχίσθησαν

BAN ⁵² et les sépulcres s'ouvrirent, et plusieurs corps des saints qui étaient morts ressuscitèrent ;

KJV ⁵² And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

BAN ⁵³ et étant sortis de leurs sépulcres, ils entrèrent dans la sainte cité, après sa résurrection, et ils apparurent à plusieurs personnes.

KJV ⁵⁴ Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

BAN ⁵⁸ Cet homme s'étant rendu auprès de Pilate, demanda le corps de Jésus. Alors Pilate commanda qu'on le lui donnât.

KJV ⁵⁸ He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.

KJV ⁶⁰ And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

KJV ⁶³ Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

TR1550 ⁶³ λέγοντες κύριε ἐμνήσθημεν ὅτι ἐκεῖνος ὁ πλάνος εἶπεν ἔτι ζῶν μετὰ τρεῖς ἡμέρας ἐγείρομαι

BAN ⁶⁴ Commande donc que le sépulcre soit gardé sûrement jusqu'au troisième jour ; de peur que ses disciples ne viennent le dérober et qu'ils ne disent au peuple : Il est ressuscité des morts. Et la dernière imposture sera pire que la première.

KJV ⁶⁴ Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

TR1550 ⁶⁴ κέλευσον οὖν ἀσφαλισθῆναι τὸν τάφον ἕως τῆς τρίτης ἡμέρας μήποτε ἐλθόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ νυκτὸς κλέψωσιν αὐτὸν καὶ εἴπωσιν τῷ λαῷ ἠγέρθη ἀπὸ τῶν νεκρῶν καὶ ἔσται ἡ ἐσχάτη πλάνη χείρων τῆς πρώτης

BAN ⁶⁵ Mais Pilate leur dit : Vous avez une garde ; allez, et faites-le garder comme vous l'entendrez.

KJV ⁶⁵ Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.

TR1550 ⁶⁵ ἔφη δὲ αὐτοῖς ὁ πιλᾶτος ἕχετε κουστωδίαν ὑπάγετε ἀσφαλίσασθε ὡς οἴδατε

BAN ⁶⁶ Eux donc, s'en étant allés, s'assurèrent du sépulcre au moyen de la garde, après avoir scellé la pierre.

KJV ⁶⁶ So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
