KJV ¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

KJV ² Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people.

VULC ² Ulciscere prius filios Israël de Madianitis, et sic colligeris ad populum tuum.

WLC ² נְקֹ֗ם נִקְמַת֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מֵאֵ֖ת הַמִּדְיָנִ֑ים אַחַ֖ר תֵּאָסֵ֥ף אֶל־ עַמֶּֽיךָ׃

KJV ³ And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian.

VULC ³ Statimque Moyses : Armate, inquit, ex vobis viros ad pugnam, qui possint ultionem Domini expetere de Madianitis.

WLC ³ וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶל־ הָעָ֣ם לֵאמֹ֔ר הֵחָלְצ֧וּ מֵאִתְּכֶ֛ם אֲנָשִׁ֖ים לַצָּבָ֑א וְיִהְיוּ֙ עַל־ מִדְיָ֔ן לָתֵ֥ת נִקְמַת־ יְהוָ֖ה בְּמִדְיָֽן׃

KJV ⁴ Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.

VULC ⁴ Mille viri de singulis tribubus eligantur ex Israël qui mittantur ad bellum.

WLC ⁴ אֶ֚לֶף לַמַּטֶּ֔ה אֶ֖לֶף לַמַּטֶּ֑ה לְכֹל֙ מַטּ֣וֹת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל תִּשְׁלְח֖וּ לַצָּבָֽא׃

KJV ⁵ So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

VULC ⁵ Dederuntque millenos de singulis tribubus, id est, duodecim millia expeditorum ad pugnam :

WLC ⁵ וַיִּמָּֽסְרוּ֙ מֵאַלְפֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶ֖לֶף לַמַּטֶּ֑ה שְׁנֵים־ עָשָׂ֥ר אֶ֖לֶף חֲלוּצֵ֥י צָבָֽא׃

KJV ⁶ And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.

VULC ⁶ quos misit Moyses cum Phinees filio Eleazari sacerdotis, vasa quoque sancta, et tubas ad clangendum tradidit ei.

WLC ⁶ וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח אֹתָ֥ם מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶ֥לֶף לַמַּטֶּ֖ה לַצָּבָ֑א אֹ֠תָם וְאֶת־ פִּ֨ינְחָ֜ס בֶּן־ אֶלְעָזָ֤ר הַכֹּהֵן֙ לַצָּבָ֔א וּכְלֵ֥י הַקֹּ֛דֶשׁ וַחֲצֹצְר֥וֹת הַתְּרוּעָ֖ה בְּיָדֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁷ And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.

VULC ⁷ Cumque pugnassent contra Madianitas atque vicissent, omnes mares occiderunt,

WLC ⁷ וַֽיִּצְבְּאוּ֙ עַל־ מִדְיָ֔ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶׁ֑ה וַיַּֽהַרְג֖וּ כָּל־ זָכָֽר׃

KJV ⁸ And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

VULC ⁸ et reges eorum, Evi, et Recem, et Sur, et Hur, et Rebe, quinque principes gentis : Balaam quoque filium Beor interfecerunt gladio.

WLC ⁸ וְאֶת־ מַלְכֵ֨י מִדְיָ֜ן הָרְג֣וּ עַל־ חַלְלֵיהֶ֗ם אֶת־ אֱוִ֤י וְאֶת־ רֶ֙קֶם֙ וְאֶת־ צ֤וּר וְאֶת־ חוּר֙ וְאֶת־ רֶ֔בַע חֲמֵ֖שֶׁת מַלְכֵ֣י מִדְיָ֑ן וְאֵת֙ בִּלְעָ֣ם בֶּן־ בְּע֔וֹר הָרְג֖וּ בֶּחָֽרֶב׃

KJV ⁹ And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods.

VULC ⁹ Ceperuntque mulieres eorum, et parvulos, omniaque pecora, et cunctam supellectilem : quidquid habere potuerant depopulati sunt :

WLC ⁹ וַיִּשְׁבּ֧וּ בְנֵי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אֶת־ נְשֵׁ֥י מִדְיָ֖ן וְאֶת־ טַפָּ֑ם וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־ בְּהֶמְתָּ֧ם וְאֶת־ כָּל־ מִקְנֵהֶ֛ם וְאֶת־ כָּל־ חֵילָ֖ם בָּזָֽזוּ׃

KJV ¹⁰ And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.

VULC ¹⁰ tam urbes quam viculos et castella flamma consumpsit.

WLC ¹⁰ וְאֵ֤ת כָּל־ עָרֵיהֶם֙ בְּמ֣וֹשְׁבֹתָ֔ם וְאֵ֖ת כָּל־ טִֽירֹתָ֑ם שָׂרְפ֖וּ בָּאֵֽשׁ׃

KJV ¹¹ And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts.

VULC ¹¹ Et tulerunt prædam, et universa quæ ceperant tam ex hominibus quam ex jumentis,

WLC ¹¹ וַיִּקְחוּ֙ אֶת־ כָּל־ הַשָּׁלָ֔ל וְאֵ֖ת כָּל־ הַמַּלְק֑וֹחַ בָּאָדָ֖ם וּבַבְּהֵמָֽה׃

KJV ¹² And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho.

VULC ¹² et adduxerunt ad Moysen, et Eleazarum sacerdotem, et ad omnem multitudinem filiorum Israël : reliqua autem utensilia portaverunt ad castra in campestribus Moab juxta Jordanem contra Jericho.

WLC ¹² וַיָּבִ֡אוּ אֶל־ מֹשֶׁה֩ וְאֶל־ אֶלְעָזָ֨ר הַכֹּהֵ֜ן וְאֶל־ עֲדַ֣ת בְּנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֶת־ הַשְּׁבִ֧י וְאֶת־ הַמַּלְק֛וֹחַ וְאֶת־ הַשָּׁלָ֖ל אֶל־ הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה אֶל־ עַֽרְבֹ֣ת מוֹאָ֔ב אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־ יַרְדֵּ֥ן יְרֵחֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹³ And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.

VULC ¹³ Egressi sunt autem Moyses et Eleazar sacerdos, et omnes principes synagogæ, in occursum eorum extra castra.

WLC ¹³ וַיֵּ֨צְא֜וּ מֹשֶׁ֨ה וְאֶלְעָזָ֧ר הַכֹּהֵ֛ן וְכָל־ נְשִׂיאֵ֥י הָעֵדָ֖ה לִקְרָאתָ֑ם אֶל־ מִח֖וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

KJV ¹⁴ And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.

VULC ¹⁴ Iratusque Moyses principibus exercitus, tribunis, et centurionibus qui venerant de bello,

WLC ¹⁴ וַיִּקְצֹ֣ף מֹשֶׁ֔ה עַ֖ל פְּקוּדֵ֣י הֶחָ֑יִל שָׂרֵ֤י הָאֲלָפִים֙ וְשָׂרֵ֣י הַמֵּא֔וֹת הַבָּאִ֖ים מִצְּבָ֥א הַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

KJV ¹⁵ And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?

VULC ¹⁵ ait : Cur feminas reservastis ?

WLC ¹⁵ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם מֹשֶׁ֑ה הַֽחִיִּיתֶ֖ם כָּל־ נְקֵבָֽה׃

KJV ¹⁶ Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

VULC ¹⁶ nonne istæ sunt, quæ deceperunt filios Israël ad suggestionem Balaam, et prævaricari vos fecerunt in Domino super peccato Phogor, unde et percussus est populus ?

WLC ¹⁶ הֵ֣ן הֵ֜נָּה הָי֨וּ לִבְנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בִּדְבַ֣ר בִּלְעָ֔ם לִמְסָר־ מַ֥עַל בַּיהוָ֖ה עַל־ דְּבַר־ פְּע֑וֹר וַתְּהִ֥י הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה בַּעֲדַ֥ת יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹⁷ Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

VULC ¹⁷ ergo cunctos interficite quidquid est generis masculini, etiam in parvulis : et mulieres, quæ noverunt viros in coitu, jugulate :

WLC ¹⁷ וְעַתָּ֕ה הִרְג֥וּ כָל־ זָכָ֖ר בַּטָּ֑ף וְכָל־ אִשָּׁ֗ה יֹדַ֥עַת אִ֛ישׁ לְמִשְׁכַּ֥ב זָכָ֖ר הֲרֹֽגוּ׃

KJV ¹⁸ But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

VULC ¹⁸ puellas autem et omnes feminas virgines reservate vobis :

WLC ¹⁸ וְכֹל֙ הַטַּ֣ף בַּנָּשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־ יָדְע֖וּ מִשְׁכַּ֣ב זָכָ֑ר הַחֲי֖וּ לָכֶֽם׃

KJV ¹⁹ And do ye abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.

VULC ¹⁹ et manete extra castra septem diebus. Qui occiderit hominem, vel occisum tetigerit, lustrabitur die tertio et septimo.

WLC ¹⁹ וְאַתֶּ֗ם חֲנ֛וּ מִח֥וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֑ים כֹּל֩ הֹרֵ֨ג נֶ֜פֶשׁ וְכֹ֣ל ׀ נֹגֵ֣עַ בֶּֽחָלָ֗ל תִּֽתְחַטְּא֞וּ בַּיּ֤וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי֙ וּבַיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י אַתֶּ֖ם וּשְׁבִיכֶֽם׃

KJV ²⁰ And purify all your raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats' hair, and all things made of wood.

VULC ²⁰ Et de omni præda, sive vestimentum fuerit, sive vas, et aliquid in utensilia præparatum, de caprarum pellibus, et pilis, et ligno, expiabitur.

WLC ²⁰ וְכָל־ בֶּ֧גֶד וְכָל־ כְּלִי־ ע֛וֹר וְכָל־ מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה עִזִּ֖ים וְכָל־ כְּלִי־ עֵ֑ץ תִּתְחַטָּֽאוּ׃

KJV ²¹ And Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses;

VULC ²¹ Eleazar quoque sacerdos ad viros exercitus, qui pugnaverunt, sic locutus est : Hoc est præceptum legis, quod mandavit Dominus Moysi :

WLC ²¹ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֶלְעָזָ֤ר הַכֹּהֵן֙ אֶל־ אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַצָּבָ֔א הַבָּאִ֖ים לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה זֹ֚את חֻקַּ֣ת הַתּוֹרָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־ צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃

KJV ²² Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,

VULC ²² aurum, et argentum, et æs, et ferrum, et plumbum, et stannum,

WLC ²² אַ֥ךְ אֶת־ הַזָּהָ֖ב וְאֶת־ הַכָּ֑סֶף אֶֽת־ הַנְּחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ אֶת־ הַבַּרְזֶ֔ל אֶֽת־ הַבְּדִ֖יל וְאֶת־ הָעֹפָֽרֶת׃

KJV ²³ Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water.

VULC ²³ et omne, quod potest transire per flammas, igne purgabitur : quidquid autem ignem non potest sustinere, aqua expiationis sanctificabitur :

WLC ²³ כָּל־ דָּבָ֞ר אֲשֶׁר־ יָבֹ֣א בָאֵ֗שׁ תַּעֲבִ֤ירוּ בָאֵשׁ֙ וְטָהֵ֔ר אַ֕ךְ בְּמֵ֥י נִדָּ֖ה יִתְחַטָּ֑א וְכֹ֨ל אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹֽא־ יָבֹ֛א בָּאֵ֖שׁ תַּעֲבִ֥ירוּ בַמָּֽיִם׃

KJV ²⁴ And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.

VULC ²⁴ et lavabitis vestimenta vestra die septimo, et purificati postea castra intrabitis.

WLC ²⁴ וְכִבַּסְתֶּ֧ם בִּגְדֵיכֶ֛ם בַּיּ֥וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י וּטְהַרְתֶּ֑ם וְאַחַ֖ר תָּבֹ֥אוּ אֶל־ הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

KJV ²⁵ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

VULC ²⁵ Dixit quoque Dominus ad Moysen :

WLC ²⁵ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־ מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

KJV ²⁶ Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:

VULC ²⁶ Tollite summam eorum quæ capta sunt, ab homine usque ad pecus, tu et Eleazar sacerdos et principes vulgi :

WLC ²⁶ שָׂ֗א אֵ֣ת רֹ֤אשׁ מַלְק֙וֹחַ֙ הַשְּׁבִ֔י בָּאָדָ֖ם וּבַבְּהֵמָ֑ה אַתָּה֙ וְאֶלְעָזָ֣ר הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְרָאשֵׁ֖י אֲב֥וֹת הָעֵדָֽה׃

KJV ²⁷ And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:

VULC ²⁷ dividesque ex æquo prædam inter eos qui pugnaverunt egressique sunt ad bellum, et inter omnem reliquam multitudinem.

WLC ²⁷ וְחָצִ֙יתָ֙ אֶת־ הַמַּלְק֔וֹחַ בֵּ֚ין תֹּפְשֵׂ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה הַיֹּצְאִ֖ים לַצָּבָ֑א וּבֵ֖ין כָּל־ הָעֵדָֽה׃

KJV ²⁸ And levy a tribute unto the LORD of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the sheep:

VULC ²⁸ Et separabis partem Domino ab his qui pugnaverunt et fuerunt in bello, unam animam de quingentis, tam ex hominibus quam ex bobus et asinis et ovibus,

WLC ²⁸ וַהֲרֵמֹתָ֨ מֶ֜כֶס לַֽיהוָ֗ה מֵאֵ֞ת אַנְשֵׁ֤י הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ הַיֹּצְאִ֣ים לַצָּבָ֔א אֶחָ֣ד נֶ֔פֶשׁ מֵחֲמֵ֖שׁ הַמֵּא֑וֹת מִן־ הָאָדָם֙ וּמִן־ הַבָּקָ֔ר וּמִן־ הַחֲמֹרִ֖ים וּמִן־ הַצֹּֽאן׃

KJV ²⁹ Take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD.

VULC ²⁹ et dabis eam Eleazaro sacerdoti, quia primitiæ Domini sunt.

WLC ²⁹ מִמַּֽחֲצִיתָ֖ם תִּקָּ֑חוּ וְנָתַתָּ֛ה לְאֶלְעָזָ֥ר הַכֹּהֵ֖ן תְּרוּמַ֥ת יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ³⁰ And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them unto the Levites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.

VULC ³⁰ Ex media quoque parte filiorum Israël accipies quinquagesimum caput hominum, et boum, et asinorum, et ovium, cunctorum animantium, et dabis ea Levitis, qui excubant in custodiis tabernaculi Domini.

WLC ³⁰ וּמִמַּחֲצִ֨ת בְּנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל תִּקַּ֣ח ׀ אֶחָ֣ד ׀ אָחֻ֣ז מִן־ הַחֲמִשִּׁ֗ים מִן־ הָאָדָ֧ם מִן־ הַבָּקָ֛ר מִן־ הַחֲמֹרִ֥ים וּמִן־ הַצֹּ֖אן מִכָּל־ הַבְּהֵמָ֑ה וְנָתַתָּ֤ה אֹתָם֙ לַלְוִיִּ֔ם שֹׁמְרֵ֕י מִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת מִשְׁכַּ֥ן יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ³¹ And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.

VULC ³¹ Feceruntque Moyses et Eleazar sicut præceperat Dominus.

WLC ³¹ וַיַּ֣עַשׂ מֹשֶׁ֔ה וְאֶלְעָזָ֖ר הַכֹּהֵ֑ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃

KJV ³² And the booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,

VULC ³² Fuit autem præda, quam exercitus ceperat, ovium sexcenta septuaginta quinque millia,

WLC ³² וַיְהִי֙ הַמַּלְק֔וֹחַ יֶ֣תֶר הַבָּ֔ז אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּזְז֖וּ עַ֣ם הַצָּבָ֑א צֹ֗אן שֵׁשׁ־ מֵא֥וֹת אֶ֛לֶף וְשִׁבְעִ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף וַחֲמֵֽשֶׁת־ אֲלָפִֽים׃

KJV ³³ And threescore and twelve thousand beeves,

VULC ³³ boum septuaginta duo millia,

WLC ³³ וּבָקָ֕ר שְׁנַ֥יִם וְשִׁבְעִ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃

KJV ³⁴ And threescore and one thousand asses,

VULC ³⁴ asinorum sexaginta millia et mille :

WLC ³⁴ וַחֲמֹרִ֕ים אֶחָ֥ד וְשִׁשִּׁ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃

KJV ³⁵ And thirty and two thousand persons in all, of women that had not known man by lying with him.

VULC ³⁵ animæ hominum sexus feminei, quæ non cognoverant viros, triginta duo millia.

WLC ³⁵ וְנֶ֣פֶשׁ אָדָ֔ם מִן־ הַ֨נָּשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־ יָדְע֖וּ מִשְׁכַּ֣ב זָכָ֑ר כָּל־ נֶ֕פֶשׁ שְׁנַ֥יִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃

KJV ³⁶ And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep:

VULC ³⁶ Dataque est media pars his qui in prælio fuerant, ovium trecenta triginta septem millia quingentæ :

WLC ³⁶ וַתְּהִי֙ הַֽמֶּחֱצָ֔ה חֵ֕לֶק הַיֹּצְאִ֖ים בַּצָּבָ֑א מִסְפַּ֣ר הַצֹּ֗אן שְׁלֹשׁ־ מֵא֥וֹת אֶ֙לֶף֙ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים אֶ֔לֶף וְשִׁבְעַ֥ת אֲלָפִ֖ים וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃

KJV ³⁷ And the LORD's tribute of the sheep was six hundred and threescore and fifteen.

VULC ³⁷ e quibus in partem Domini supputatæ sunt oves sexcentæ septuaginta quinque :

WLC ³⁷ וַיְהִ֛י הַמֶּ֥כֶס לַֽיהוָ֖ה מִן־ הַצֹּ֑אן שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת חָמֵ֥שׁ וְשִׁבְעִֽים׃

KJV ³⁸ And the beeves were thirty and six thousand; of which the LORD's tribute was threescore and twelve.

VULC ³⁸ et de bobus triginta sex millibus, boves septuaginta et duo :

WLC ³⁸ וְהַ֨בָּקָ֔ר שִׁשָּׁ֥ה וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים אָ֑לֶף וּמִכְסָ֥ם לַיהוָ֖ה שְׁנַ֥יִם וְשִׁבְעִֽים׃

KJV ³⁹ And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred; of which the LORD's tribute was threescore and one.

VULC ³⁹ de asinis triginta millibus quingentis, asini sexaginta unus :

WLC ³⁹ וַחֲמֹרִ֕ים שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף וַחֲמֵ֣שׁ מֵא֑וֹת וּמִכְסָ֥ם לַֽיהוָ֖ה אֶחָ֥ד וְשִׁשִּֽׁים׃

KJV ⁴⁰ And the persons were sixteen thousand; of which the LORD's tribute was thirty and two persons.

VULC ⁴⁰ de animabus hominum sedecim millibus, cesserunt in partem Domini triginta duæ animæ.

WLC ⁴⁰ וְנֶ֣פֶשׁ אָדָ֔ם שִׁשָּׁ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר אָ֑לֶף וּמִכְסָם֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה שְׁנַ֥יִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים נָֽפֶשׁ׃

KJV ⁴¹ And Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD's heave offering, unto Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.

VULC ⁴¹ Tradiditque Moyses numerum primitiarum Domini Eleazaro sacerdoti, sicut fuerat ei imperatum,

KJV ⁴² And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses divided from the men that warred,

VULC ⁴² ex media parte filiorum Israël, quam separaverat his qui in prælio fuerant.

WLC ⁴² וּמִֽמַּחֲצִ֖ית בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁר֙ חָצָ֣ה מֹשֶׁ֔ה מִן־ הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים הַצֹּבְאִֽים׃

KJV ⁴³ (Now the half that pertained unto the congregation was three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep,

VULC ⁴³ De media vero parte, quæ contigerat reliquæ multitudini, id est, de ovibus trecentis triginta septem millibus quingentis,

KJV ⁴⁴ And thirty and six thousand beeves,

KJV ⁴⁵ And thirty thousand asses and five hundred,

WLC ⁴⁵ וַחֲמֹרִ֕ים שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃

KJV ⁴⁶ And sixteen thousand persons;)

KJV ⁴⁷ Even of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.

KJV ⁴⁸ And the officers which were over thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near unto Moses:

VULC ⁴⁸ Cumque accessissent principes exercitus ad Moysen, et tribuni, centurionesque, dixerunt :

WLC ⁴⁸ וַֽיִּקְרְבוּ֙ אֶל־ מֹשֶׁ֔ה הַפְּקֻדִ֕ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר לְאַלְפֵ֣י הַצָּבָ֑א שָׂרֵ֥י הָאֲלָפִ֖ים וְשָׂרֵ֥י הַמֵּאֽוֹת׃

KJV ⁴⁹ And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.

VULC ⁴⁹ Nos servi tui recensuimus numerum pugnatorum, quos habuimus sub manu nostra : et ne unus quidem defuit.

WLC ⁴⁹ וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ אֶל־ מֹשֶׁ֔ה עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ נָֽשְׂא֗וּ אֶת־ רֹ֛אשׁ אַנְשֵׁ֥י הַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּיָדֵ֑נוּ וְלֹא־ נִפְקַ֥ד מִמֶּ֖נּוּ אִֽישׁ׃

KJV ⁵⁰ We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD.

VULC ⁵⁰ Ob hanc causam offerimus in donariis Domini singuli quod in præda auri potuimus invenire, periscelides et armillas, annulos et dextralia, ac murænulas, ut depreceris pro nobis Dominum.

WLC ⁵⁰ וַנַּקְרֵ֞ב אֶת־ קָרְבַּ֣ן יְהוָ֗ה אִישׁ֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר מָצָ֤א כְלִֽי־ זָהָב֙ אֶצְעָדָ֣ה וְצָמִ֔יד טַבַּ֖עַת עָגִ֣יל וְכוּמָ֑ז לְכַפֵּ֥ר עַל־ נַפְשֹׁתֵ֖ינוּ לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ⁵¹ And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, even all wrought jewels.

KJV ⁵² And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.

KJV ⁵³ (For the men of war had taken spoil, every man for himself.)

VULC ⁵³ Unusquisque enim quod in præda rapuerat, suum erat.

WLC ⁵³ אַנְשֵׁי֙ הַצָּבָ֔א בָּזְז֖וּ אִ֥ישׁ לֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁵⁴ And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.

VULC ⁵⁴ Et susceptum intulerunt in tabernaculum testimonii, in monimentum filiorum Israël coram Domino.

WLC ⁵⁴ וַיִּקַּ֨ח מֹשֶׁ֜ה וְאֶלְעָזָ֤ר הַכֹּהֵן֙ אֶת־ הַזָּהָ֔ב מֵאֵ֛ת שָׂרֵ֥י הָאֲלָפִ֖ים וְהַמֵּא֑וֹת וַיָּבִ֤אוּ אֹתוֹ֙ אֶל־ אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד זִכָּר֥וֹן לִבְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
