KJV ¹ Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,

BCC ² à Philémon notre très cher ami et collaborateur, à Appia, notre soeur, à Archippe, notre compagnon d'armes, et à l'Église qui est dans ta maison :

KJV ² And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:

BCC ³ à vous grâce et paix de la part de Dieu notre Père et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ !

KJV ³ Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

BCC ⁴ Me souvenant sans cesse de toi dans mes prières je rends grâces à mon Dieu ;

KJV ⁴ I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

BCC ⁵ car j'apprends quelles sont ta charité et ta foi à l'égard du Seigneur Jésus et envers tous tes saints : Puisse la générosité inspirée par ta foi devenir efficace et se faire connaître partout, le bien accompli parmi nous en vue du Christ.

KJV ⁵ Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;

BCC ⁷ En effet, ta charité m'a comblé de joie et de consolation, parce que les coeurs des saints ont été ranimés par toi, frère.

KJV ⁷ For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

BCC ⁸ Voilà pourquoi, bien que j'ai dans le Christ toute liberté de te prescrire ce qu'il convient de faire,

KJV ⁸ Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,

BCC ⁹ j'aime mieux, au nom de cette charité, t'en supplier. Tel que je suis, moi, Paul, vieux, et de plus actuellement prisonnier pour Jésus-Christ,

KJV ⁹ Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

BCC ¹⁰ je te supplie donc pour mon fils, que j'ai engendré dans les fers, pour Onésime,

KJV ¹⁰ I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

BCC ¹¹ qui autrefois ne t'a guère été utile, mais qui maintenant l'est vraiment, et à toi et à moi.

KJV ¹¹ Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:

BCC ¹² Je te le renvoie, lui, mon propre coeur.

KJV ¹² Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:

BCC ¹³ Je l'aurais volontiers retenu près de moi, afin qu'il me servit à ta place dans les chaines que je porte pour l'Évangile.

KJV ¹³ Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:

BCC ¹⁴ Mais je n'ai voulu rien faire sans ton assentiment, pour que ton bienfait ne paraisse pas forcé, mais qu'il vienne de ton plein gré.

KJV ¹⁴ But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

BCC ¹⁵ Peut-être aussi Onésime n'a-t-il été séparé de toi pour un temps, qu'afin que tu le recouvres à jamais,

KJV ¹⁵ For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;

BCC ¹⁶ non plus comme un esclave, mais bien mieux qu'un esclave, comme un frère bien-aimé, tout particulièrement aimé de moi, et combien plus de toi, aussi bien selon la chair que selon le Seigneur ?

KJV ¹⁶ Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

BCC ¹⁷ Si donc tu me tiens pour étroitement uni à toi, accueille-le comme moi-même.

KJV ¹⁷ If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.

BCC ¹⁸ Et s'il t'a fait tort, s'il te doit quelque chose, passe-le à mon compte

KJV ¹⁸ If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;

BCC ¹⁹ C'est moi Paul, qui écris ceci de ma propre main ; moi je te le rendrai, pour ne pas te dire que tu es mon débiteur, et même de ta propre personne.

KJV ¹⁹ I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

BCC ²⁰ Oui, frère, que j'obtienne de toi cette satisfaction dans le Seigneur; réjouis mes entrailles dans le Christ.

KJV ²⁰ Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.

BCC ²¹ Je t'écris ceci plein de confiance en ta docilité, sachant que tu feras même au delà de ce que je demande.

KJV ²¹ Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.

BCC ²² En même temps, prépare aussi pour moi l'hospitalité; car j'espère vous être rendu, grâce à vos prières.

KJV ²² But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

BCC ²³ Épaphras, mon compagnon de captivité en Jésus-Christ, te salue,

KJV ²³ There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;

BCC ²⁴ ainsi que Marc, Aristarque, Démas et Luc, mes collaborateurs.

KJV ²⁴ Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.

BCC ²⁵ Que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, soit avec votre esprit ! Amen !

KJV ²⁵ The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

KJV ⁶ That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
