KJV 1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

VULC 1 [Ne æmuleris viros malos,
nec desideres esse cum eis :

WLC 1 אַל־ תְּ֭קַנֵּא בְּאַנְשֵׁ֣י רָעָ֑ה וְאַל־ לִהְי֥וֹת אִתָּֽם׃

KJV 2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

VULC 2 quia rapinas meditatur mens eorum,
et fraudes labia eorum loquuntur.

WLC 2 כִּי־ שֹׁ֭ד יֶהְגֶּ֣ה לִבָּ֑ם וְ֝עָמָ֗ל שִׂפְתֵיהֶ֥ם תְּדַבֵּֽרְנָה׃

KJV 3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

VULC 3 Sapientia ædificabitur domus,
et prudentia roborabitur.

WLC 3 בְּ֭חָכְמָה יִבָּ֣נֶה בָּ֑יִת וּ֝בִתְבוּנָ֗ה יִתְכּוֹנָֽן׃

KJV 4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

VULC 4 In doctrina replebuntur cellaria,
universa substantia pretiosa et pulcherrima.

WLC 4 וּ֭בְדַעַת חֲדָרִ֣ים יִמָּלְא֑וּ כָּל־ ה֖וֹן יָקָ֣ר וְנָעִֽים׃

KJV 5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

VULC 5 Vir sapiens fortis est,
et vir doctus robustus et validus :

WLC 5 גֶּֽבֶר־ חָכָ֥ם בַּע֑וֹז וְאִֽישׁ־ דַּ֝֗עַת מְאַמֶּץ־ כֹּֽחַ׃

KJV 6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

VULC 6 quia cum dispositione initur bellum,
et erit salus ubi multa consilia sunt.

WLC 6 כִּ֣י בְ֭תַחְבֻּלוֹת תַּעֲשֶׂה־ לְּךָ֣ מִלְחָמָ֑ה וּ֝תְשׁוּעָ֗ה בְּרֹ֣ב יוֹעֵֽץ׃

KJV 7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

VULC 7 Excelsa stulto sapientia ;
in porta non aperiet os suum.

WLC 7 רָאמ֣וֹת לֶֽאֱוִ֣יל חָכְמ֑וֹת בַּ֝שַּׁ֗עַר לֹ֣א יִפְתַּח־ פִּֽיהוּ׃

KJV 8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

VULC 8 Qui cogitat mala facere stultus vocabitur :

WLC 8 מְחַשֵּׁ֥ב לְהָרֵ֑עַ ל֝֗וֹ בַּֽעַל־ מְזִמּ֥וֹת יִקְרָֽאוּ׃

KJV 9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

VULC 9 cogitatio stulti peccatum est,
et abominatio hominum detractor.

WLC 9 זִמַּ֣ת אִוֶּ֣לֶת חַטָּ֑את וְתוֹעֲבַ֖ת לְאָדָ֣ם לֵֽץ׃

KJV 10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

VULC 10 Si desperaveris lassus in die angustiæ,
imminuetur fortitudo tua.]

WLC 10 הִ֭תְרַפִּיתָ בְּי֥וֹם צָרָ֗ה צַ֣ר כֹּחֶֽכָה׃

KJV 11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

VULC 11 [Erue eos qui ducuntur ad mortem,
et qui trahuntur ad interitum, liberare ne cesses.

WLC 11 הַ֭צֵּל לְקֻחִ֣ים לַמָּ֑וֶת וּמָטִ֥ים לַ֝הֶ֗רֶג אִם־ תַּחְשֽׂוֹךְ׃

KJV 12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

VULC 12 Si dixeris : Vires non suppetunt ;
qui inspector est cordis ipse intelligit :
et servatorem animæ tuæ nihil fallit,
reddetque homini juxta opera sua.

WLC 12 כִּֽי־ תֹאמַ֗ר הֵן֮ לֹא־ יָדַ֪עְנ֫וּ זֶ֥ה הֲ‍ֽלֹא־ תֹ֘כֵ֤ן לִבּ֨וֹת ׀ הֽוּא־ יָבִ֗ין וְנֹצֵ֣ר נַ֭פְשְׁךָ ה֣וּא יֵדָ֑ע וְהֵשִׁ֖יב לְאָדָ֣ם כְּפָעֳלֽוֹ׃

KJV 13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:

VULC 13 Comede, fili mi, mel, quia bonum est,
et favum dulcissimum gutturi tuo.

WLC 13 אֱכָל־ בְּנִ֣י דְבַ֣שׁ כִּי־ ט֑וֹב וְנֹ֥פֶת מָ֝ת֗וֹק עַל־ חִכֶּֽךָ׃

KJV 14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

VULC 14 Sic et doctrina sapientiæ animæ tuæ :
quam cum inveneris, habebis in novissimis spem,
et spes tua non peribit.

WLC 14 כֵּ֤ן ׀ דְּעֶ֥ה חָכְמָ֗ה לְנַ֫פְשֶׁ֥ךָ אִם־ מָ֭צָאתָ וְיֵ֣שׁ אַחֲרִ֑ית וְ֝תִקְוָתְךָ֗ לֹ֣א תִכָּרֵֽת׃

KJV 15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

VULC 15 Ne insidieris, et quæras impietatem in domo justi,
neque vastes requiem ejus.

WLC 15 אַל־ תֶּאֱרֹ֣ב רָ֭שָׁע לִנְוֵ֣ה צַדִּ֑יק אַֽל־ תְּשַׁדֵּ֥ד רִבְצוֹ׃

KJV 16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

VULC 16 Septies enim cadet justus, et resurget :
impii autem corruent in malum.

WLC 16 כִּ֤י שֶׁ֨בַע ׀ יִפּ֣וֹל צַדִּ֣יק וָקָ֑ם וּ֝רְשָׁעִ֗ים יִכָּשְׁל֥וּ בְרָעָֽה׃

KJV 17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

VULC 17 Cum ceciderit inimicus tuus ne gaudeas,
et in ruina ejus ne exsultet cor tuum :

WLC 17 בִּנְפֹ֣ל אַל־ תִּשְׂמָ֑ח וּ֝בִכָּשְׁל֗וֹ אַל־ יָגֵ֥ל לִבֶּֽךָ׃

KJV 18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

VULC 18 ne forte videat Dominus, et displiceat ei,
et auferat ab eo iram suam.

WLC 18 פֶּן־ יִרְאֶ֣ה יְ֭הוָה וְרַ֣ע בְּעֵינָ֑יו וְהֵשִׁ֖יב מֵעָלָ֣יו אַפּֽוֹ׃

KJV 19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked:

VULC 19 Ne contendas cum pessimis,
nec æmuleris impios :

WLC 19 אַל־ תִּתְחַ֥ר בַּמְּרֵעִ֑ים אַל־ תְּ֝קַנֵּ֗א בָּרְשָׁעִֽים׃

KJV 20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

VULC 20 quoniam non habent futurorum spem mali,
et lucerna impiorum extinguetur.

WLC 20 כִּ֤י ׀ לֹֽא־ תִהְיֶ֣ה אַחֲרִ֣ית לָרָ֑ע נֵ֖ר רְשָׁעִ֣ים יִדְעָֽךְ׃

KJV 21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:

VULC 21 Time Dominum, fili mi, et regem,
et cum detractoribus non commiscearis :

WLC 21 יְרָֽא־ אֶת־ יְהוָ֣ה בְּנִ֣י וָמֶ֑לֶךְ עִם־ שׁ֝וֹנִ֗ים אַל־ תִּתְעָרָֽב׃

KJV 22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?

VULC 22 quoniam repente consurget perditio eorum,
et ruinam utriusque quis novit ?]

KJV 23 These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

KJV 24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:

KJV 25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

KJV 26 Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.

KJV 28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.

VULC 28 Ne sis testis frustra contra proximum tuum,
nec lactes quemquam labiis tuis.

WLC 28 אַל־ תְּהִ֣י עֵד־ חִנָּ֣ם בְּרֵעֶ֑ךָ וַ֝הֲפִתִּ֗יתָ בִּשְׂפָתֶֽיךָ׃

KJV 29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.

KJV 30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

VULC 30 [Per agrum hominis pigri transivi,
et per vineam viri stulti :

WLC 30 עַל־ שְׂדֵ֣ה אִישׁ־ עָצֵ֣ל עָבַ֑רְתִּי וְעַל־ כֶּ֝֗רֶם אָדָ֥ם חֲסַר־ לֵֽב׃

KJV 31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

et maceria lapidum destructa erat.

KJV 32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
