KJV 1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

WLC 1 דִּ֭בְרֵי לְמוּאֵ֣ל מֶ֑לֶךְ מַ֝שָּׂ֗א אֲ‍ֽשֶׁר־ יִסְּרַ֥תּוּ אִמּֽוֹ׃

KJV 2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

WLC 2 מַה־ בְּ֭רִי וּמַֽה־ בַּר־ בִּטְנִ֑י וּ֝מֶה בַּר־ נְדָרָֽי׃

KJV 3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

WLC 3 אַל־ תִּתֵּ֣ן לַנָּשִׁ֣ים חֵילֶ֑ךָ וּ֝דְרָכֶ֗יךָ לַֽמְח֥וֹת מְלָכִֽין׃

KJV 4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

WLC 4 אַ֤ל לַֽמְלָכִ֨ים ׀ לְֽמוֹאֵ֗ל אַ֣ל לַֽמְלָכִ֣ים שְׁתוֹ־ יָ֑יִן וּ֝לְרוֹזְנִ֗ים שֵׁכָֽר׃

KJV 5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

WLC 5 פֶּן־ יִ֭שְׁתֶּה וְיִשְׁכַּ֣ח מְחֻקָּ֑ק וִֽ֝ישַׁנֶּה דִּ֣ין כָּל־ בְּנֵי־ עֹֽנִי׃

KJV 6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

WLC 6 תְּנוּ־ שֵׁכָ֣ר לְאוֹבֵ֑ד וְ֝יַיִן לְמָ֣רֵי נָֽפֶשׁ׃

KJV 7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

WLC 7 יִ֭שְׁתֶּה וְיִשְׁכַּ֣ח רִישׁ֑וֹ וַ֝עֲמָל֗וֹ לֹ֣א יִזְכָּר־ עֽוֹד׃

KJV 8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

WLC 8 פְּתַח־ פִּ֥יךָ לְאִלֵּ֑ם אֶל־ דִּ֝֗ין כָּל־ בְּנֵ֥י חֲלֽוֹף׃

KJV 9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

WLC 9 פְּתַח־ פִּ֥יךָ שְׁפָט־ צֶ֑דֶק וְ֝דִ֗ין עָנִ֥י וְאֶבְיֽוֹן׃

KJV 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

WLC 10 אֵֽשֶׁת־ חַ֭יִל מִ֣י יִמְצָ֑א וְרָחֹ֖ק מִפְּנִינִ֣ים מִכְרָֽהּ׃

KJV 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

WLC 11 בָּ֣טַח בָּ֭הּ לֵ֣ב בַּעְלָ֑הּ וְ֝שָׁלָ֗ל לֹ֣א יֶחְסָֽר׃

KJV 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

WLC 12 גְּמָלַ֣תְהוּ ט֣וֹב וְלֹא־ רָ֑ע כֹּ֝֗ל יְמֵ֣י חַיֶּֽיה׃

KJV 13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

WLC 13 דָּ֭רְשָׁה צֶ֣מֶר וּפִשְׁתִּ֑ים וַ֝תַּ֗עַשׂ בְּחֵ֣פֶץ כַּפֶּֽיהָ׃

KJV 14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

WLC 14 הָ֭יְתָה כָּאֳנִיּ֣וֹת סוֹחֵ֑ר מִ֝מֶּרְחָ֗ק תָּבִ֥יא לַחְמָֽהּ׃

KJV 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

WLC 15 וַתָּ֤קָם ׀ בְּע֬וֹד לַ֗יְלָה וַתִּתֵּ֣ן טֶ֣רֶף לְבֵיתָ֑הּ וְ֝חֹ֗ק לְנַעֲרֹתֶֽיהָ׃

KJV 16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

WLC 16 זָמְמָ֣ה שָׂ֭דֶה וַתִּקָּחֵ֑הוּ מִפְּרִ֥י כַ֝פֶּ֗יהָ כָּֽרֶם׃

KJV 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

WLC 17 חָֽגְרָ֣ה בְע֣וֹז מָתְנֶ֑יהָ וַ֝תְּאַמֵּ֗ץ זְרֹעוֹתֶֽיהָ׃

KJV 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

WLC 18 טָ֭עֲמָה כִּי־ ט֣וֹב סַחְרָ֑הּ לֹֽא־ יִכְבֶּ֖ה נֵרָֽהּ׃

KJV 19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

WLC 19 יָ֭דֶיהָ שִׁלְּחָ֣ה בַכִּישׁ֑וֹר וְ֝כַפֶּ֗יהָ תָּ֣מְכוּ פָֽלֶךְ׃

KJV 20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

WLC 20 כַּ֭פָּהּ פָּרְשָׂ֣ה לֶעָנִ֑י וְ֝יָדֶ֗יהָ שִׁלְּחָ֥ה לָֽאֶבְיֽוֹן׃

KJV 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

WLC 21 לֹא־ תִירָ֣א לְבֵיתָ֣הּ מִשָּׁ֑לֶג כִּ֥י כָל־ בֵּ֝יתָ֗הּ לָבֻ֥שׁ שָׁנִֽים׃

KJV 22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

WLC 22 מַרְבַדִּ֥ים עָֽשְׂתָה־ לָּ֑הּ שֵׁ֖שׁ וְאַרְגָּמָ֣ן לְבוּשָֽׁהּ׃

KJV 23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

WLC 23 נוֹדָ֣ע בַּשְּׁעָרִ֣ים בַּעְלָ֑הּ בְּ֝שִׁבְתּ֗וֹ עִם־ זִקְנֵי־ אָֽרֶץ׃

KJV 24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

WLC 24 סָדִ֣ין עָ֭שְׂתָה וַתִּמְכֹּ֑ר וַ֝חֲג֗וֹר נָתְנָ֥ה לַֽכְּנַעֲנִֽי׃

KJV 25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

WLC 25 עֹז־ וְהָדָ֥ר לְבוּשָׁ֑הּ וַ֝תִּשְׂחַ֗ק לְי֣וֹם אַחֲרֽוֹן׃

KJV 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

WLC 26 פִּ֭יהָ פָּתְחָ֣ה בְחָכְמָ֑ה וְתֽוֹרַת־ חֶ֝֗סֶד עַל־ לְשׁוֹנָֽהּ׃

KJV 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

WLC 27 צ֭וֹפִיָּה הֲלִיכ֣וֹת בֵּיתָ֑הּ וְלֶ֥חֶם עַ֝צְל֗וּת לֹ֣א תֹאכֵֽל׃

KJV 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

WLC 28 קָ֣מוּ בָ֭נֶיהָ וַֽיְאַשְּׁר֑וּהָ בַּ֝עְלָ֗הּ וַֽיְהַֽלְלָהּ׃

KJV 29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

WLC 29 רַבּ֣וֹת בָּ֭נוֹת עָ֣שׂוּ חָ֑יִל וְ֝אַ֗תְּ עָלִ֥ית עַל־ כֻּלָּֽנָה׃

KJV 30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

WLC 30 שֶׁ֣קֶר הַ֭חֵן וְהֶ֣בֶל הַיֹּ֑פִי אִשָּׁ֥ה יִרְאַת־ יְ֝הוָ֗ה הִ֣יא תִתְהַלָּֽל׃

KJV 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

WLC 31 תְּנוּ־ לָ֭הּ מִפְּרִ֣י יָדֶ֑יהָ וִֽיהַלְל֖וּהָ בַשְּׁעָרִ֣ים מַעֲשֶֽׂיהָ׃
