KJV ¹ My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:

S21 ¹ Mon fils, sois attentif à ma sagesse,
tends l'oreille vers mon intelligence,

KJV ² That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.

et que tes lèvres gardent la connaissance.

KJV ³ For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:

S21 ³ Certes, les lèvres de l'étrangère ruissellent de miel
et son palais est plus doux que l'huile,

KJV ⁴ But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.

S21 ⁴ mais à la fin elle est amère comme l'absinthe,
coupante comme une épée à deux tranchants.

KJV ⁵ Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

S21 ⁵ Ses pieds descendent vers la mort,
ses pas aboutissent au séjour des morts.

KJV ⁶ Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.

S21 ⁶ Elle se garde bien d'examiner le chemin de la vie.
Ses voies sont des voies d'errance, mais elle ne le sait pas.

KJV ⁷ Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.

S21 ⁷ Et maintenant, mes fils, écoutez-moi
et ne vous détournez pas des paroles de ma bouche!

KJV ⁸ Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:

S21 ⁸ Passe loin de chez elle
et ne t'approche pas de la porte de sa maison!
