KJV 6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

KJV 7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

KJV 9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

VULC 9 in obscuro, advesperascente die,
in noctis tenebris et caligine.

WLC 9 בְּנֶֽשֶׁף־ בְּעֶ֥רֶב י֑וֹם בְּאִישׁ֥וֹן לַ֝֗יְלָה וַאֲפֵלָֽה׃

KJV 10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

VULC 10 Et ecce occurrit illi mulier ornatu meretricio,
præparata ad capiendas animas :
garrula et vaga,

WLC 10 וְהִנֵּ֣ה אִ֭שָּׁה לִקְרָאת֑וֹ שִׁ֥ית ז֝וֹנָ֗ה וּנְצֻ֥רַת לֵֽב׃

KJV 11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

VULC 11 quietis impatiens,
nec valens in domo consistere pedibus suis ;

WLC 11 הֹמִיָּ֣ה הִ֣יא וְסֹרָ֑רֶת בְּ֝בֵיתָ֗הּ לֹא־ יִשְׁכְּנ֥וּ רַגְלֶֽיהָ׃

KJV 12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

VULC 12 nunc foris, nunc in plateis,
nunc juxta angulos insidians.

WLC 12 פַּ֤עַם ׀ בַּח֗וּץ פַּ֥עַם בָּרְחֹב֑וֹת וְאֵ֖צֶל כָּל־ פִּנָּ֣ה תֶאֱרֹֽב׃

KJV 13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

et procaci vultu blanditur, dicens :

WLC 13 וְהֶחֱזִ֣יקָה בּ֭וֹ וְנָ֣שְׁקָה־ לּ֑וֹ הֵעֵ֥זָה פָ֝נֶ֗יהָ וַתֹּ֣אמַר לֽוֹ׃

KJV 14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

hodie reddidi vota mea :

WLC 14 זִבְחֵ֣י שְׁלָמִ֣ים עָלָ֑י הַ֝יּ֗וֹם שִׁלַּ֥מְתִּי נְדָרָֽי׃

KJV 15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

VULC 15 idcirco egressa sum in occursum tuum,
desiderans te videre, et reperi.

WLC 15 עַל־ כֵּ֭ן יָצָ֣אתִי לִקְרָאתֶ֑ךָ לְשַׁחֵ֥ר פָּ֝נֶ֗יךָ וָאֶמְצָאֶֽךָּ׃

KJV 16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

VULC 16 Intexui funibus lectulum meum ;
stravi tapetibus pictis ex Ægypto :

WLC 16 מַ֭רְבַדִּים רָבַ֣דְתִּי עַרְשִׂ֑י חֲ֝טֻב֗וֹת אֵט֥וּן מִצְרָֽיִם׃

KJV 17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

VULC 17 aspersi cubile meum myrrha,
et aloë, et cinnamomo.

WLC 17 נַ֥פְתִּי מִשְׁכָּבִ֑י מֹ֥ר אֲ֝הָלִ֗ים וְקִנָּמֽוֹן׃

KJV 18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

VULC 18 Veni, inebriemur uberibus,
et fruamur cupitis amplexibus donec illucescat dies.

WLC 18 לְכָ֤ה נִרְוֶ֣ה דֹ֭דִים עַד־ הַבֹּ֑קֶר נִ֝תְעַלְּסָ֗ה בָּאֳהָבִֽים׃

KJV 19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

VULC 19 Non est enim vir in domo sua :
abiit via longissima :

WLC 19 כִּ֤י אֵ֣ין הָאִ֣ישׁ בְּבֵית֑וֹ הָ֝לַ֗ךְ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ מֵרָחֽוֹק׃

KJV 20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

VULC 20 sacculum pecuniæ secum tulit ;
in die plenæ lunæ reversurus est in domum suam.

WLC 20 צְֽרוֹר־ הַ֭כֶּסֶף לָקַ֣ח בְּיָד֑וֹ לְי֥וֹם הַ֝כֵּ֗סֶא יָבֹ֥א בֵיתֽוֹ׃

KJV 21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

VULC 21 Irretivit eum multis sermonibus,
et blanditiis labiorum protraxit illum.

WLC 21 הִ֭טַּתּוּ בְּרֹ֣ב לִקְחָ֑הּ בְּחֵ֥לֶק שְׂ֝פָתֶ֗יהָ תַּדִּיחֶֽנּוּ׃

KJV 22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

VULC 22 Statim eam sequitur quasi bos ductus ad victimam,
et quasi agnus lasciviens,
et ignorans quod ad vincula stultus trahatur :

WLC 22 ה֤וֹלֵ֥ךְ אַחֲרֶ֗יהָ פִּ֫תְאֹ֥ם כְּ֭שׁוֹר אֶל־ טָ֣בַח יָב֑וֹא וּ֝כְעֶ֗כֶס אֶל־ מוּסַ֥ר אֱוִֽיל׃

KJV 23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

VULC 23 donec transfigat sagitta jecur ejus,
velut si avis festinet ad laqueum,
et nescit quod de periculo animæ illius agitur.

WLC 23 עַ֤ד יְפַלַּ֪ח חֵ֡ץ כְּֽבֵד֗וֹ כְּמַהֵ֣ר צִפּ֣וֹר אֶל־ פָּ֑ח וְלֹֽא־ יָ֝דַ֗ע כִּֽי־ בְנַפְשׁ֥וֹ הֽוּא׃
