WLC ¹ תְּ֭פִלָּה לְעָנִ֣י כִֽי־ יַעֲטֹ֑ף וְלִפְנֵ֥י יְ֝הוָ֗ה יִשְׁפֹּ֥ךְ שִׂיחֽוֹ׃

KJV ² Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

S21 ² Eternel, écoute ma prière
et que mon cri parvienne jusqu'à toi!

WLC ² יְ֭הוָה שִׁמְעָ֣ה תְפִלָּתִ֑י וְ֝שַׁוְעָתִ֗י אֵלֶ֥יךָ תָבֽוֹא׃

KJV ³ For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.

S21 ³ Ne me cache pas ton visage lorsque je suis dans la détresse,
tends ton oreille vers moi quand je crie,
réponds-moi vite,

WLC ³ אַל־ תַּסְתֵּ֬ר פָּנֶ֨יךָ ׀ מִמֶּנִּי֮ בְּי֪וֹם צַ֫ר לִ֥י הַטֵּֽה־ אֵלַ֥י אָזְנֶ֑ךָ בְּי֥וֹם אֶ֝קְרָ֗א מַהֵ֥ר עֲנֵֽנִי׃

KJV ⁴ My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

S21 ⁴ car mes jours s'évanouissent comme une fumée
et mes os sont enflammés comme un brasier.

WLC ⁴ כִּֽי־ כָל֣וּ בְעָשָׁ֣ן יָמָ֑י וְ֝עַצְמוֹתַ֗י כְּמוֹ־ קֵ֥ד נִחָֽרוּ׃

KJV ⁵ By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

S21 ⁵ Mon cœur est frappé et se dessèche comme l'herbe;
j'en oublie même de manger mon pain.

WLC ⁵ הוּכָּֽה־ כָ֭עֵשֶׂב וַיִּבַ֣שׁ לִבִּ֑י כִּֽי־ שָׁ֝כַ֗חְתִּי מֵאֲכֹ֥ל לַחְמִֽי׃

KJV ⁶ I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.

S21 ⁶ A force de gémir,
je n'ai plus que la peau sur les os.

WLC ⁶ מִקּ֥וֹל אַנְחָתִ֑י דָּבְקָ֥ה עַ֝צְמִ֗י לִבְשָׂרִֽי׃

KJV ⁷ I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

S21 ⁷ Je ressemble au pélican du désert,
je suis comme le chat-huant des ruines.

WLC ⁷ דָּ֭מִיתִי לִקְאַ֣ת מִדְבָּ֑ר הָ֝יִ֗יתִי כְּכ֣וֹס חֳרָבֽוֹת׃

KJV ⁸ Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.

S21 ⁸ Je suis privé de sommeil et je ressemble
à l'oiseau resté tout seul sur un toit.

WLC ⁸ שָׁקַ֥דְתִּי וָאֶֽהְיֶ֑ה כְּ֝צִפּ֗וֹר בּוֹדֵ֥ד עַל־ גָּֽג׃

KJV ⁹ For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping.

S21 ⁹ Chaque jour, mes ennemis m'insultent;
ils se moquent de moi,
ils emploient mon nom dans leurs serments.

WLC ⁹ כָּל־ הַ֭יּוֹם חֵרְפ֣וּנִי אוֹיְבָ֑י מְ֝הוֹלָלַ֗י בִּ֣י נִשְׁבָּֽעוּ׃

KJV ¹⁰ Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.

S21 ¹⁰ Je mange de la cendre au lieu de pain,
et je mêle des larmes à ma boisson

WLC ¹⁰ כִּי־ אֵ֭פֶר כַּלֶּ֣חֶם אָכָ֑לְתִּי וְ֝שִׁקֻּוַ֗י בִּבְכִ֥י מָסָֽכְתִּי׃

KJV ¹¹ My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.

S21 ¹¹ à cause de ta colère et de ta fureur.
Oui, tu t'es emparé de moi et m'as rejeté.

WLC ¹¹ מִפְּנֵֽי־ זַֽעַמְךָ֥ וְקִצְפֶּ֑ךָ כִּ֥י נְ֝שָׂאתַ֗נִי וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵֽנִי׃

KJV ¹² But thou, O LORD, shall endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

S21 ¹² Mes jours déclinent comme l'ombre du soir,
et je me dessèche comme l'herbe,

WLC ¹² יָ֭מַי כְּצֵ֣ל נָט֑וּי וַ֝אֲנִ֗י כָּעֵ֥שֶׂב אִיבָֽשׁ׃

KJV ¹³ Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

S21 ¹³ mais toi, Eternel, tu règnes éternellement,
et l'on se souvient de toi de génération en génération.

WLC ¹³ וְאַתָּ֣ה יְ֭הוָה לְעוֹלָ֣ם תֵּשֵׁ֑ב וְ֝זִכְרְךָ֗ לְדֹ֣ר וָדֹֽר׃

KJV ¹⁴ For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.

S21 ¹⁴ Tu te lèveras, tu auras compassion de Sion,
car il est temps de lui faire grâce.
Oui, le moment fixé est arrivé,

WLC ¹⁴ אַתָּ֣ה תָ֭קוּם תְּרַחֵ֣ם צִיּ֑וֹן כִּי־ עֵ֥ת לְ֝חֶֽנְנָ֗הּ כִּי־ בָ֥א מוֹעֵֽד׃

KJV ¹⁵ So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

S21 ¹⁵ car tes serviteurs en aiment les pierres,
ils sont attachés à sa poussière.

WLC ¹⁵ כִּֽי־ רָצ֣וּ עֲ֭בָדֶיךָ אֶת־ אֲבָנֶ֑יהָ וְֽאֶת־ עֲפָרָ֥הּ יְחֹנֵֽנוּ׃

KJV ¹⁶ When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

S21 ¹⁶ Alors les nations craindront le nom de l'Eternel,
tous les rois de la terre craindront ta gloire.

WLC ¹⁶ וְיִֽירְא֣וּ ג֭וֹיִם אֶת־ שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה וְֽכָל־ מַלְכֵ֥י הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ אֶת־ כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃

KJV ¹⁷ He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

S21 ¹⁷ Quand l'Eternel reconstruira Sion,
il se montrera dans sa gloire.

WLC ¹⁷ כִּֽי־ בָנָ֣ה יְהוָ֣ה צִיּ֑וֹן נִ֝רְאָ֗ה בִּכְבוֹדֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹⁸ This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.

S21 ¹⁸ Il est attentif à la prière de celui qu'on a dépouillé,
il ne méprise pas sa prière.

WLC ¹⁸ פָּ֭נָה אֶל־ תְּפִלַּ֣ת הָעַרְעָ֑ר וְלֹֽא־ בָ֝זָ֗ה אֶת־ תְּפִלָּתָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁹ For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;

S21 ¹⁹ Que cela soit écrit pour la génération future,
et que le peuple ainsi créé célèbre l'Eternel,

WLC ¹⁹ תִּכָּ֣תֶב זֹ֭את לְד֣וֹר אַחֲר֑וֹן וְעַ֥ם נִ֝בְרָ֗א יְהַלֶּל־ יָֽהּ׃

KJV ²⁰ To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

S21 ²⁰ car il regarde du haut de sa demeure sainte.
Du haut du ciel, l'Eternel observe la terre

WLC ²⁰ כִּֽי־ הִ֭שְׁקִיף מִמְּר֣וֹם קָדְשׁ֑וֹ יְ֝הוָ֗ה מִשָּׁמַ֤יִם ׀ אֶל־ אֶ֬רֶץ הִבִּֽיט׃

KJV ²¹ To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

S21 ²¹ pour écouter les gémissements des prisonniers,
pour délivrer ceux qui sont destinés à la mort.

WLC ²¹ לִ֭שְׁמֹעַ אֶנְקַ֣ת אָסִ֑יר לְ֝פַתֵּ֗חַ בְּנֵ֣י תְמוּתָֽה׃

KJV ²² When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

S21 ²² Alors on proclamera dans Sion le nom de l'Eternel,
et ses louanges dans Jérusalem,

WLC ²² לְסַפֵּ֣ר בְּ֭צִיּוֹן שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה וּ֝תְהִלָּת֗וֹ בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

KJV ²³ He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.

S21 ²³ quand tous les peuples et tous les royaumes
se rassembleront pour servir l'Eternel.

WLC ²³ בְּהִקָּבֵ֣ץ עַמִּ֣ים יַחְדָּ֑ו וּ֝מַמְלָכ֗וֹת לַעֲבֹ֥ד אֶת־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ²⁴ I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.

S21 ²⁴ Il a brisé ma force en chemin,
il a abrégé mes jours.

WLC ²⁴ עִנָּ֖ה בַדֶּ֥רֶךְ קִצַּ֥ר יָמָֽי׃

KJV ²⁵ Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

S21 ²⁵ Je dis: «Mon Dieu, ne m'enlève pas au milieu de ma vie,
toi dont l'existence traverse les générations!»

WLC ²⁵ אֹמַ֗ר אֵלִ֗י אַֽל־ תַּ֭עֲלֵנִי בַּחֲצִ֣י יָמָ֑י בְּד֖וֹר דּוֹרִ֣ים שְׁנוֹתֶֽיךָ׃

KJV ²⁶ They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

S21 ²⁶ *Autrefois tu as fondé la terre,
et le ciel est l'œuvre de tes mains.

WLC ²⁶ לְ֭פָנִים הָאָ֣רֶץ יָסַ֑דְתָּ וּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֖ה יָדֶ֣יךָ שָׁמָֽיִם׃

KJV ²⁷ But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

S21 ²⁷ Eux, ils disparaîtront, tandis que toi, tu restes là.
Ils vieilliront tous comme un vêtement;
tu les remplaceras comme un habit, et ils céderont la place,

WLC ²⁷ הֵ֤מָּה ׀ יֹאבֵדוּ֮ וְאַתָּ֪ה תַ֫עֲמֹ֥ד וְ֭כֻלָּם כַּבֶּ֣גֶד יִבְל֑וּ כַּלְּב֖וּשׁ תַּחֲלִיפֵ֣ם וְֽיַחֲלֹֽפוּ׃

KJV ²⁸ The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.

S21 ²⁸ mais toi, tu es toujours le même
et ton existence n'aura pas de fin. 

WLC ²⁸ וְאַתָּה־ ה֑וּא וּ֝שְׁנוֹתֶ֗יךָ לֹ֣א יִתָּֽמּוּ׃

S21 ²⁹ Les fils de tes serviteurs pourront s'établir
et leur descendance s'affermira devant toi.

WLC ²⁹ בְּנֵֽי־ עֲבָדֶ֥יךָ יִשְׁכּ֑וֹנוּ וְ֝זַרְעָ֗ם לְפָנֶ֥יךָ יִכּֽוֹן׃
