KJV 1 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

VULC 1 Canticum graduum. [De profundis clamavi ad te, Domine ;

KJV 2 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.

VULC 2 Domine, exaudi vocem meam.
Fiant aures tuæ intendentes in vocem deprecationis meæ.

KJV 3 The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.

VULC 3 Si iniquitates observaveris, Domine,
Domine, quis sustinebit ?

KJV 4 The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

VULC 4 Quia apud te propitiatio est ;
et propter legem tuam sustinui te, Domine.
Sustinuit anima mea in verbo ejus :

KJV 5 Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

VULC 5 speravit anima mea in Domino.

KJV 6 Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:

VULC 6 A custodia matutina usque ad noctem,
speret Israël in Domino.

KJV 7 Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

VULC 7 Quia apud Dominum misericordia,
et copiosa apud eum redemptio.

KJV 8 Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.

VULC 8 Et ipse redimet Israël
ex omnibus iniquitatibus ejus.]
