KJV ¹ Lord, remember David, and all his afflictions:

VULC ¹ Canticum graduum David. [Ecce quam bonum et quam jucundum,
habitare fratres in unum !

BCC ² Il fit ce serment à Yahweh, ce voeu au Fort de Jacob :

KJV ² How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;

VULC ² Sicut unguentum in capite,
quod descendit in barbam, barbam Aaron,
quod descendit in oram vestimenti ejus ;

BCC ³ "Je n'entrerai pas dans la tente où j'habite, je ne monterai pas sur le lit où je repose ;

KJV ³ Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;

VULC ³ sicut ros Hermon,
qui descendit in montem Sion.
Quoniam illic mandavit Dominus benedictionem,
et vitam usque in sæculum.]

BCC ⁴ Je n'accorderai point de sommeil à mes yeux, ni d'assoupissement à mes paupières,

KJV ⁴ I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,

BCC ⁵ jusqu'à ce que j'aie trouvé un lieu pour Yahweh, une demeure pour le Fort de Jacob."

KJV ⁵ Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

BCC ⁶ Voici, entendions-nous dire, qu'elle est à Éphrata ; nous l'avons trouvée dans les champs de Jaar.

KJV ⁶ Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.

BCC ⁷ Allons au tabernacle de Yahweh, prosternons-nous devant l'escabeau de ses pieds.

KJV ⁷ We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.

BCC ⁸ Lève-toi, Yahweh, viens au lieu de ton repos, toi et l'arche de ta majesté !

KJV ⁸ Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.

BCC ⁹ Que tes prêtres soient revêtus de justice, et que tes fidèles poussent des cris d'allégresse !

KJV ⁹ Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

BCC ¹⁰ À cause de David, ton serviteur, ne repousse pas la face de ton Oint !

KJV ¹⁰ For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.

BCC ¹¹ Yahweh a juré à David la vérité, il ne s'en départira pas : "C'est du fruit de tes entrailles, que je mettrai sur ton trône.

KJV ¹¹ The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

BCC ¹² Si tes fils gardent mon alliance, et les préceptes que je leur enseignerai, leurs fils aussi, à tout jamais, seront assis sur ton trône."

KJV ¹² If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.

BCC ¹³ Car Yahweh a choisi Sion, il l'a désirée pour sa demeure.

KJV ¹³ For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.

BCC ¹⁴ "C'est le lieu de mon repos pour toujours ; j'y habiterai, car je l'ai désirée.

KJV ¹⁴ This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

BCC ¹⁵ Je répandrai de riches bénédictions sur sa subsistance, je rassasierai de pain ses pauvres.

KJV ¹⁵ I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

BCC ¹⁶ Je revêtirai de salut ses prêtres, et ses fidèles pousseront des cris d'allégresse.

KJV ¹⁶ I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

BCC ¹⁷ Là je ferai grandir la puissance de David, je préparerai un flambeau à mon Oint.

KJV ¹⁷ There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.

BCC ¹⁸ Je revêtirai de honte ses ennemis, et sur son front resplendira son diadème."

KJV ¹⁸ His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.
