¹ Psaume de David. Pour mémorial.
² Eternel, ne me reprends pas dans ton indignation, Et ne me châtie pas dans ton courroux !
³ Car tes flèches m'ont atteint, Et ta main s'est abaissée sur moi.
⁴ Rien n'est intact dans ma chair, à cause de ta colère ; Rien n'est sain dans mes os, à cause de mon péché.
⁵ Car mes iniquités s'élèvent au-dessus de ma tête ; Comme un lourd fardeau, elles sont trop pesantes pour moi.
⁶ Mes plaies sont infectes et purulentes, A cause de ma folie ;
⁷ Je suis extrêmement courbé et abattu, Tout le jour je vais et viens dans le deuil,
⁸ Car mes reins sont remplis d'inflammation, Et rien n'est intact dans ma chair.
⁹ Je suis sans force, brisé au dernier point, Je rugis, dans le tourment de mon coeur.
¹⁰ Seigneur, tout mon désir est devant toi, Et mon gémissement ne t'est point caché ;
¹¹ Mon coeur bat précipitamment, ma force m'a abandonné, Ainsi que la clarté de mes yeux ; même je ne les ai plus.
¹² Mes amis et mes proches se tiennent loin de ma plaie, Mes plus proches se tiennent éloignés.
¹³ Ceux qui en veulent à ma vie m'ont tendu des pièges, El ceux qui cherchent ma perte profèrent des paroles de destruction Et méditent tout le jour des tromperies.
¹⁴ Et moi, comme un sourd, je n'entends pas ; Comme un muet, je n'ouvre pas la bouche.
¹⁵ Je suis comme un homme qui n'entend pas, Et dans la bouche duquel il n'y a point de réplique.
¹⁶ Car c'est à toi que je m'attends, ô Eternel ! C'est toi qui répondras, Seigneur, mon Dieu.
¹⁷ Car j'ai dit : Qu'ils ne se réjouissent pas à mon sujet ! Dès que mon pied chancelle, ils s'élèvent orgueilleusement contre moi.
¹⁸ Car je suis près de tomber, Et ma douleur est continuellement devant moi.
¹⁹ Je confesse mon iniquité, Je suis en peine à cause de mon péché,
²⁰ Et mes ennemis vivent et se fortifient. Nombreux sont ceux qui me haïssent sans cause,
²¹ Ceux qui me rendent le mal pour le bien, S'opposant à moi, parce que je recherche le bien.
²² Ne m'abandonne pas, ô Eternel ! Mon Dieu ! ne t'éloigne pas de moi.
²³ Hâte-toi de venir à mon aide, Seigneur, qui es mon salut !

¹ O lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
² For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.
³ There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
⁴ For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
⁵ My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.
⁶ I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.
⁷ For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.
⁸ I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
⁹ Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
¹⁰ My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
¹¹ My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
¹² They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
¹³ But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
¹⁴ Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
¹⁵ For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.
¹⁶ For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
¹⁷ For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.
¹⁸ For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.
¹⁹ But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
²⁰ They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.
²¹ Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.
²² Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
